right in. Galatians chapter 3 Galatians chapter
Galatians 3 chapter mention Galatians 3 chapter mention
-
3. Galatians chapter 3 verse 19. What purpose
-
then does the law serve? It was added because
-
of transgressions. till the seed shall come to
-
whom the promise was made. And it was appointed
-
through angels by the hand of a mediator. By
-
the hand of a mediator. It was appointed through
-
at verse 11. Believe me that I am in the Father
-
and the Father in me. Or else, believe me, for
-
the sake of the works themselves. Go down to
-
verse 5. Chapter 5, sorry. Chapter 5. Verse 16.
-
For this reason the Jews persecuted Jesus and
-
sought to kill him, because he had done these
-
things on the Sabbath. But Jesus answered them,
-
My father has been walking until now, and I have
-
been walking. My father has been doing what?
-
Walking until now, and I have been walking. Now,
-
Pastor Fred, our lead pastor, started with the
-
introduction of what the Lord is leading us this
-
year to do greater works. And the theme of the
-
year is greater works. And one of the issues
-
he raised was understanding the works of God.
-
The works of God reveal God. Are we together?
-
Because he will never do anything that is against
-
his nature, against his character. Hallelujah.
-
And the series we have been taking fall. Almost
-
in sync with what we are introducing this year.
-
And we have been talking about the giving of
-
the law. And where I read in Galatians chapter
-
3 verse 19. We saw that the law was given or
-
was appointed through angels or through the direction
-
of angels. And one thing we noticed last time,
-
we point out a number of issues. Now, because
-
Moses involved angels in the giving of the law,
-
so we said we wanted to study a bit. about the
-
interactions between these angels and people,
-
particularly when the law was given, because
-
he said the law was given through the appointment
-
of angels. And what we are trying to do is to
-
come to answer a question. Remember the question
-
we're trying to answer? Why? We wanted to answer,
-
why did Moses wrote or gave the law? And why
-
are we focusing that? Particularly, we are focusing
-
in Deuteronomy 22, 5. That a woman shall not
-
wear that which pertained unto a man, neither
-
shall a man put on a woman's garments. For all
-
that do so an abomination. unto the Lord. I'm
-
reading from thy God. I'm reading from O .K.
-
James. Hallelujah. So we're trying to, of course,
-
not just only this one, all the laws he gave
-
to Israel. And we understood that the law was
-
an addition. You understand? Now, one important
-
thing while we are going this way to study is
-
to help us also as well to learn how to read
-
what we call the Old Testament. And because there
-
are lots of activities that has happened. So
-
somehow the works of God has been actually clouded
-
by a number of things. There are some things
-
that God did not do. Today we said it is God
-
that did it. So while we will take other studies
-
to look at some of the things men said, are we
-
together? That are not God. Even the men of God,
-
because even men of God, even the prophet of
-
God have said certain things that actually did
-
not come from God. Are we together? However,
-
there are some certain things, of course, and
-
Jesus clearly told us what their focus was. So
-
we can be able to understand the addition. Are
-
we together? We're coming to that. Because he
-
said that the prophet wrote concerning him. Are
-
we together? So that means there will be things
-
that will not be in alignment to the things he
-
has come to do. So if a prophet will say those
-
things, that will not mean that it is Christ
-
that said it. Because God is the same yesterday,
-
today and forever. So the God of the New Testament
-
is not a new God, but it is that is the actually
-
the unveiling of the real God that have existed.
-
You understand? Without time. That is even before
-
the world began. He is the same. And what we
-
are trying to appreciate is to also help us as
-
we move on is to study to understand that the
-
works of God reveal God. So if you miss on the
-
work of God or who did what, you are going to
-
miss on the character of God. And you're going
-
to have problem in your knowledge about God.
-
Are we together? So, from our last message, we
-
looked at to see whether what angel said. Remember,
-
when we took that study, the goal was not actually
-
to look at what the angels said, whether it is
-
of God or not. We are coming to that. But if
-
you look at what we studied, you understand,
-
we could see that very clearly. There are some
-
certainties I want us to understand. That there's
-
a perception about the men of old, that when
-
they interacted with angels, what did they encounter?
-
They define it as they have encountered God.
-
Are we together? Amen. Good. Secondly, The second
-
thing I want us to understand is that even though
-
where we read last time, you understand, it's
-
clear that God was the one who was speaking through
-
the angels. Are we together? Amen. Yes. But we
-
are going to go into other portions where angels
-
did certain things that actually is not God's.
-
So the essence is, as you read a portion of a
-
scripture, Just because you see the Lord said
-
doesn't mean actually is actually the God Almighty.
-
That means you have to study within the context
-
to find out whether the Lord that is speaking
-
is not actually the angel's opinion or the attitude
-
of men, you understand, or it is actually the
-
Lord Almighty. So what we're trying to emphasize
-
even in the teachings, is actually the emphasis
-
on contextual reading. That you cannot just use
-
words carelessly, you understand? Because words
-
are used very carefully in scripture. And that's
-
why he said, you are to study to show thyself
-
a proof. A workman who needed not to be ashamed,
-
rightly dividing the word of truth. That is,
-
every word must be taken seriously because they
-
have its implication. And therefore, by all that
-
we have been studying, we saw that angels can
-
be called Lord. Which means that you have to
-
read carefully to know who is the one called
-
Lord in that portion. Is it God or the angel?
-
Or is it man? Whoever, just you have to find
-
out from the reading in the context. Are we together?
-
So we saw that kind of a thing. And there's a
-
scripture I quoted in Revelation chapter... Revelation
-
13. Come with me, Revelation 13. I just quoted
-
the scripture when I listened to the last message
-
and I discovered that there is an adjustment
-
we need to do there a little bit before we just
-
move on because it's very important. He said,
-
Revelation 13 verse 8. All who dwell on the earth
-
will worship him whose name have not been written
-
in the book of life of the lamp slain from the
-
foundation of who? Of the world. Now if you look
-
at that, it says slain from the foundation of
-
the world. When you read this, it looks as if
-
the lamp that is The book of the life of the
-
lamb who was slain from the foundation of the
-
world. It looks as if the lamb was slain from
-
the foundation of the world. That the slain was
-
done where? At the foundation of the world. Are
-
we together? But just maybe read Hebrews with
-
me. Come with me, Hebrews, quickly. Hebrews 9,
-
9 -26. He then would have had to suffer often
-
since the foundation of the world. But now, once
-
at the end of the ages, he has appeared to put
-
away sins by the what? By the sacrifice of himself.
-
That word sacrifice of himself, that's what it
-
means by slain. Amen? When was he slain? When
-
was he slain? At the end of the age. That word
-
age is not there. In the root word, it's not
-
plural. In the sign. Those of us that have been
-
going to cell meeting, Would I have no problem
-
with this? You understand? Amen? Yes. So Christ
-
was sacrificed at the end of age. And we know
-
if you are in the cell meeting, this is not where
-
we'll discuss that. We understood that, that
-
the foundation is a word conception. You understand?
-
Meaning the time of the blueprints. Of what will
-
be accomplished, which is the word end. You understand?
-
Who will be accomplished. So we are in the season
-
of accomplishment. Of what has been the foundation.
-
Are we together? So what was done at the foundation
-
is the blueprint. Amen? It's not the slaining.
-
The slaining is at where? at the end of the ages.
-
Amen. Hallelujah. So when you look at that word,
-
when he said, the book of the Lamb slain from
-
the foundation of the world. Now, you just have
-
to do some rearrangement. For those of us who
-
have been working, I mean, going closely with
-
us in this church, we have discussed the issue
-
of Bible, understanding the Bible, and we've
-
done a lot of things. You understand? Now, If
-
you understand that when you understand the writings,
-
both Greek and Hebrew, you understand, there
-
is no word to word match. So most times when
-
translators are translating the Bible, if you
-
translate it word to word, even you can't read
-
it because it wouldn't make meaning. You understand?
-
An example of how you know what I mean is that
-
go and carry Turkish, you understand, and just
-
do word to word back to English. You will now
-
understand what I'm saying. the Turkish will
-
make meaning in English. So that means the person
-
who is Turkish will have to, first and foremost,
-
interpret it. You understand? So that it can
-
make meaning in English language. Are we together?
-
So that involves some rearrangement of words.
-
So, and that has to be with the understanding
-
of the context as well. You understand? Now that
-
we understand that Christ was not sacrificed
-
or was not slain at the foundation. He was slain
-
at what? At the end. So that means the blueprint
-
will be at the foundation. Amen. So all we just
-
need to do is just to bring the slain backward.
-
You understand? That is, we will say in the book
-
of life of the slain lamp. Did you see that?
-
Of what? The slain lamp from the foundation of
-
the world. That means what we are talking about
-
is that. If you read it now in that sense, all
-
who dwell on earth will worship him whose name
-
were not written. Now the focus of the text is
-
not written. You understand? Written where? In
-
the book of the slain lamb. But when was it written?
-
Are we together? It was written where? from the
-
foundation of the world. Hallelujah. Okay. It's
-
important that when you listen to this one and
-
then you listen to the last message, when you
-
combine what I just said now, it will make sense.
-
Hallelujah. Amen. So to know, as I said, whether
-
words in the Old Testament or any other place
-
in the Bible are really the Lord said it. Those
-
words must be assessed through Christ. Those
-
words must be assessed through Christ. God cannot
-
change. God can't change. The same God who was
-
in the Old Testament was the same God who took
-
on the nature of man to be known. Who took on
-
the nature of the man to be known. And what that
-
means is that Knowing God Almighty is actually
-
in knowing his son. Because it is in his son
-
that he is revealed. So that means now we have
-
a perfect understanding of God. So we are not
-
shadow boxing. When we go into Old Testament
-
and we are reading, we go with our chest up.
-
Because we have a system of assessing who says
-
what. And we can assess it accurately because
-
God now has arrived and revealed himself in the
-
son. And by doing so, because the son now is
-
a light, we can now, and we know the son, so
-
we can assess and know, okay, this is not the
-
son. And because it's not the son, so it's not
-
the father. Remember where I read in John chapter
-
five, right? He says what? That my father has
-
been walking. Are we together? Until now, and
-
I'm already doing what? Walking, which means
-
that you can assess the walk of the Father in
-
the Son. And then that's what he said. You will
-
know that you are one in Christ. And even if
-
you don't understand, just look at my walks,
-
you will know. Are we together? So that's the
-
point. And I want us to see this very important
-
part, why I am saying that we're going to be
-
assessed. And listen, just the same way today
-
that we make mistakes. and do certain things
-
that are not in alignment with God. Of course,
-
that doesn't show that you are not of God. Do
-
you understand what I'm trying to say? But sometimes
-
lack of knowledge or lack of understanding of
-
God's character and God's nature can make us
-
behave the way we ought not to behave. Hallelujah.
-
Are we together? So I want you to understand
-
as we study this in the interaction of angels,
-
sometimes when you see certain things Terrible
-
things that angels do doesn't mean that they
-
are evil spirits and they are evil angels. No.
-
It's because they are operating from a point
-
of ignorance. Oh, are you together with me? Are
-
you together with me? The only thing we're trying
-
to assess, already, as I said, we're going to
-
study both angels, men, because angels do walk
-
also. But the fact that it's a spirit that does
-
the walk does not mean, does not mean actually
-
that the walk is life. Did you understand what
-
I'm trying to say? Already we know that in the
-
law is wrath. And the law was given through angels.
-
So already you will know that. And those angels
-
are not evil angels. Did you understand what
-
I'm trying to say? They are not demons that fell
-
in the sun. So already that means some of the
-
things they did produced death. Hallelujah. So
-
that's what we are trying to study. Let me establish
-
something about the son more. John 1, verse 11.
-
Let's go to 18. John 1, 18. John 1, 18. No one
-
has seen God at any time. The only begotten son.
-
Who is in the bosom of the Father. He has declared
-
him. He has declared what? Him. That word no
-
one. Is a single word. You understand? Is. Pronounced.
-
Odise. Or Odise. I think it's Odise. That is
-
O -U -D -E -I -S. O -U. D -E -I -S. Or dies.
-
This verse means nothing. Nobody. None. Nothing.
-
Nobody. None. That is no one. Nothing. Nobody.
-
None. Has ever seen God. Remember in the. Previous
-
verse, verse 17, he said, for the law was given
-
through Moses, but grace and truth came through
-
Jesus Christ. That includes Moses. He has never
-
seen God. That includes angels. They have never
-
seen God at all. Only one. Only one. He said,
-
what is that one? He said, the only begotten.
-
The only begotten. That word, only begotten.
-
I think other translations, modern translations,
-
translated it better by saying one and only.
-
That's what is monogynes. Only begotten is a
-
word monogynes in Greek. M -O -N -O -G -E -N
-
-E -S M -O -N O -G -E -N -E -S. Monogenes. Monogenes
-
is derived from two words. It's derived from
-
two words. Monos. From the word monos. Monos.
-
M -O -N -O -S. Monos. Which means one. Or only.
-
Only. Of course, the one there is not talking
-
about number. Are we together? That one or only
-
is not talking about number. It's talking about
-
uniqueness. Are we together? And genos talk about
-
of a class. That's why now when you combine them,
-
genos, which is G -E -N -O -S. G -E -N -O -S
-
means class or kind. Class or kind. So when you
-
look at it, you will see that together when you
-
combine it, it's talking about one of a class
-
or of a kind. Are we together? Amen. Before,
-
as I said, when you use the word, the only begotten,
-
it appears because the earlier translation was
-
taught to be from two words. There's another
-
word which has to be corrected because It was
-
using the only begotten, which is monogynetos.
-
That is M -O -N -O -G -E -N -E -T -O -S. M -O
-
-N -O -G... E -double -N -E -T -O -S. That was
-
the earlier because this one, if you split it
-
into two, the first part, which is mono, which
-
is monos or one or only. Then the second one
-
is actually a word. Also, we call it genao. Genao.
-
When you combine the two, you have monogenetos.
-
Genao is actually begat. Genao is G -E -N -N
-
-A -O. G -E -N -N -A -O. So that means monogenetos
-
is actually a compound word of two words, monos
-
and genao. When you combine them, it gives you
-
genao means begat or to bear. So initially, by
-
using the only begotten, it appears as if he's
-
talking about something that you gave birth to.
-
But that's not the communication. You understand?
-
It's not about giving birth. Actually, the right
-
Greek word is what we have already talked about,
-
that the monogenes, which is one and only, that
-
is of a different class or of a kind. Are we
-
together? Amen. So it's talking about uniqueness,
-
not actually procreation or giving birth to.
-
It's talking about uniqueness. So, and we can
-
find that in several places in scripture are
-
particularly used for Jesus, at least King James.
-
When you check, Earlier, newer translation like
-
ESV, they use one and only and some other translation,
-
one and only. That's the right word. To depict
-
uniqueness, not actually to give bet. Are we
-
together? Yes. So if you look at, they say, please,
-
maybe I will use this one. Hebrews chapter 11.
Hebrews 11 chapter mention
-
Hebrews chapter 11 verse 17. Hebrews 11, 17.
-
He said, by faith, Abraham, when he was tested,
-
offered up Isaac, and he who had received the
-
promise, offered up his only begotten. Again,
-
this is supposed to be one and only. Are we together?
-
That's why when you read the account in Genesis
-
22, you say, take up your son, your only son.
-
It will look as if he's saying he has only...
-
one son. No, that only is talking about uniqueness.
-
That is, Isaac is unique. He's not talking about
-
number. Are we together? Because Abraham also
-
had Isaac at that time already. Are we together?
-
So it cannot be a number. Say, your only son.
-
Of course, it's not only son because Ishmael
-
is there. Amen? So he's talking about uniqueness.
-
And that's exactly what he's talking about. When
-
you look at what he said, the uniqueness of that
-
song, he said the only unique song. You understand?
-
And then he said, in the bosom. Of course, that
-
word is figurative in nature. Because when you
-
talk about bosom, you're talking about, of course,
-
some of us that are English, we normally use
-
the word bosom friend. Are we together? What
-
you're talking about, you're talking about somebody,
-
this is relational, of a unique and intimate
-
relationship. That's what you are talking about.
-
That is, this person is not like any other. You
-
understand? So, he's talking about the unique
-
relationship of Christ and the Father. And he
-
now said that he had declared him. Remember,
-
he said no one has seen God. No one has seen
-
God. In verse 14 of John 1. In verse 14 of John
-
1. You know what I'm saying? And the word became
-
flesh. And dwell among us. And we beheld his
-
glory. The glory of the only begotten. That word
-
would be what? One and only. Are we together?
-
Of the father full of grace and truth. It's not
-
two things. Grace which is truth. Are we together?
-
Yes. The very first time God was seen by both
-
men, because he said no one has seen him. The
-
very first time both men and angels have seen
-
God is in the song. The first time both men and
-
angels have seen God. is in the Son. 1 Timothy
-
3 .16 1 Timothy 3 .16 And without controversy,
-
great is the mystery of godliness. God was what?
-
Was what? Manifested where? In the flesh. Justified?
-
In the spirit. Seen by who? Seen by who? Angels.
-
Preach among Gentiles. Believed on the world.
-
Received up in what? In glory. Are we together?
-
That's the first time angels ever saw God. Manifested
-
in the flesh. manifested in the flesh. It means
-
to unveil, to uncover, manifest, to unveil, to
-
uncover. That is, God was manifest in the flesh.
-
Angels never saw God in his fullness till he
-
was revealed in the sun. He said, great is a
-
mystery of godliness. That word mystery, you
-
understand, Is no longer mystery. Why? Now is
-
what? Manifested. Hallelujah. Amen. So that means
-
the father revealed himself. To humanity. And
-
also to angels in the son. So in the son. Or
-
the son is a perfect. And complete revelation.
-
Of God. So, when you know the father, that means
-
you are saying you know the son. Or you can only
-
know the father by knowing the son. So the mystery,
-
the uncertainty, the confusion, the complexity,
-
the double -mindedness about the father, where
-
is he explained? Where is he explained? In the
-
son. Where is it unveiled? In the Son. Where
-
is it revealed? In the Son. Where is it resolved?
-
In the Son. So as we go through the Old Testament
-
and through the entire Bible, every confusion,
-
every complexity, every uncertainty is revealed
-
in the Son. You don't see it in Christ, it's
-
not God. Sing full and short. Are we together?
-
You know, some people will ask, but sir, who
-
did it then? I say it's not God. What is your
-
problem? It's not God. So there's no revelation
-
of the father outside God. What he has revealed
-
about himself is in the son. So when Moses recruited
-
angels to write what was shown or to give the
-
law instead, definitely you know. There is no
-
how at that time angels could ever have been
-
accurate to write about God. Because how could
-
they have known him? You understand? So don't
-
be shouting because an angel appeared to you.
-
Don't jubilate yet. You have to bring and look
-
at what is revealed to you. through the lenses
-
of the sun, there is nothing that will ever be
-
revealed to you that is greater than what you
-
have received already. I don't want you to look
-
down on yourself in the sun because you have
-
received the sun and you are in him. So anything
-
that is coming from outside, even if you have
-
revelation and you've seen an angel appear to
-
you, glory be to God. That's good. But don't
-
begin to feel suddenly that now you will even
-
change your name. Because that's how so many
-
people have changed their names. They have moved
-
from brother straight to apostle. You know, sir.
-
Why? They say because they have seen. They have
-
had an encounter. Because I've listened to some
-
people, they say the definition of an apostle
-
is that they have seen Jesus. Which type of seeing
-
Jesus are you talking about? Amen. Hallelujah.
-
Amen. Now, let me just touch on a few things.
-
Now, apart from the word the Lord said, the Lord
-
said, there's another thing I want us to note
-
also as we study. It's the word God. Also, God
-
said, God said, God said, God said, you understand?
-
God, the word God, is the word Elohim, you understand?
-
E -L -O -H -I -M, Elohim. Of course, it appears
-
many times in the King James Bible, throughout
-
the Bible. I mean, through the scriptures, the
-
Old Testament text. More than 2 ,000 times. And
-
it is used to describe a number of things. It
-
is used to describe anything divine, great in
-
different contexts, mighty, like deities, judges,
-
angels, rulers, you understand? Gods. Again,
-
some names that we'll be mentioning, You understand?
-
Sometimes they can be interchanged. But just
-
understand that that's why each time I'm talking
-
about any word, I give you what I'm talking about.
-
When I use the word law, you understand? I will
-
tell you what I mean by the law because we are
-
discussing the law of Moses. So you know the
-
law I'm talking about. But that doesn't mean
-
anywhere you see law. That means it's a law of
-
Moses. Do you understand what I'm trying to say?
-
I've said that. The same thing, this word angels,
-
you understand? Now, because I'm talking about
-
spirit beings, you understand? You understand
-
what I mean? Continue to use the word angels,
-
angels. But there are places where men are called
-
angels. Some places where God is called an angel.
-
Do you understand what I'm trying to say? So
-
what that means is that, again, this word, even
-
man, the word man, you know, solely by this thing.
-
When we read, for example, the... What do you
-
call it? Those men that encounter Abraham, you
-
understand, they are called, when they enter
-
Sodom with Lord, they are called the men. But
-
they are what? Angels. You understand what I'm
-
saying? What that means is that, so what I'm
-
trying to say is that there's no, there's no
-
one word that has a blanket meaning that you
-
carry it everywhere. You understand? Because
-
the word man is a The word they use in Sodom
-
for those angels is Ish. Ish means the male,
-
male man, not Adam, the male man. You understand?
-
So what that means is that you don't just see
-
what like that and just say, okay, this is it.
-
No. You have to now read to know actually who
-
is that or what is that. Again, this is emphasizing
-
that. You have to learn to really solely, primarily
-
depend on the context. You understand? To be
-
able to know the meaning of words. So, so far,
-
I'm using angels as spirit beings. So, when I
-
mention angel, you know what I'm talking about.
-
Amen? Amen. So, now, the word Elohim is obtained
-
from the root word Elal. Allow. That's a singular
-
word because Elohim is plural of allow. E -L
-
-O -A -H. E -L -O -A -H. Allow. Now, in this
-
regard, when you assume because the word Elohim
-
is plural of allow, which means God, normally
-
you see it as God. You will see God said. God
-
said. So you need to read very carefully to know
-
which God is he talking about. And you know,
-
interestingly, sometimes translators also, because
-
translators are actually interpreters. So sometimes
-
they will as well help, not really deliberate
-
because they are very helpful people. It's not
-
deliberate, but in their reading, sometimes they
-
can make mistakes too. Because sometimes by saying
-
big G, all of us think that is the God Almighty.
-
Is that correct? But sometimes again, they will
-
put small G. But even places they put big G is
-
not actually the Almighty God. Did you understand
-
what I'm trying to say? So you have to depend
-
to read context. It's not by capital or small
-
letter that we know which one is which. Did you
-
get what I'm trying to say? Hallelujah. Genesis
-
32. Genesis 32. Look at verse 24. Then Jacob
-
was left alone, and a man wrestled with him until
-
the breaking of the day. Now, when he saw that
-
he did not prevail against him, he touched the
-
socket of his hip and the socket of Jacob's hip
-
was out of joint as he wrestled with him. And
-
he said, let me go for the daybreak. But he said,
-
I will not let you go unless you bless me. So
-
he said to him, what is your name? He said, Jacob.
-
And he said, your name shall no longer be called
-
Jacob, but Israel. For you have struggled with
-
who? With who? That word is Elohim. You understand?
-
God and with men and have prevailed. You understand?
-
Then, Jacob asked, saying, tell me your name,
-
I pray. And he said, why is it that you ask about
-
my name? And he blessed him. And there. And he
-
blessed him there. So Jacob called the name of
-
the place Penuel. For I have seen who? God, face
-
to face, and my life is what? is preserved. Hosea
Hosea 12 chapter mention
-
chapter 12. Hosea chapter 12. Look at verse 2.
Hosea 12 chapter mention
-
Hosea 12 verse 2. The Lord also brings a charge
-
against Judah. And will punish Jacob according
-
to his ways. According to his deeds. He will
-
recompense him. He took his brother by the heel
-
in the womb. And in his strength, he did what?
-
He did what? He struggled with who? Are we together
-
now? He struggled with who? With God. Yes. He
-
struggled with who? These people are not following.
-
Are we together? Verse 4. Yes, he struggled with
-
who? And what? So, that is saying that what he
-
said he struggled with God is actually the angel
-
he's talking about. So, you can see that God
-
here is big letter. Right? Capital letter. That
-
is an angel. Even the angel here is put capital
-
because they are trying to refer to it because
-
Israel here capital is God. You understand? But
-
look at what, if you go back to where we read
-
in Genesis, you will see that. What has happened?
-
The man, Jacob, that's what he saw. He's an angel
-
that he struggled. Even from the first one, they
-
called the person the man. Did you see that?
-
Verse 24. Then Jacob was left alone and a man
-
wrestled in the sand. So you could see that Jacob
-
wrestled with an angel. But then look at what
-
he said. He said, I have seen God, what? Face
-
to face. Remember what Jesus said. No one has
-
seen God. No one at any time. We see just like
-
we studied last week. That's their perception.
-
It's that they have an encounter with spirit
-
beings. You understand? They consider it as an
-
encounter with God. So they had, because their
-
worldview is shaped. very profoundly, you understand,
-
by the spirit world. The way they see the spirit
-
world is profoundly different from how our world
-
is now, you understand. Because the world has
-
become sophisticated now. We are too materially
-
connected. They, in those days, they are very
-
much, so much connected. It's a usual occurrence,
-
you understand. It's not something, a strange
-
thing. So, and because of... Most times when
-
they, because remember, remember what we are
-
saying. We're going to see it. Their knowledge
-
of God, of course, is not perfect as we are now
-
that we know because we have the son revealed,
-
you know, son. So each time, most of them, you
-
know, son, as we see several times, they consider
-
an encounter with an angel. Even when they know,
-
for example, Manoah, we read the other time,
-
they clearly knew there is an angel, but they
-
still consider it as what? as God, encounter
-
with God. Amen. Are we together? The Psalmist,
-
Psalm 8. Let's look at Psalm 8. Psalm 8, verse
-
1. Lord, our God, how excellent is your name
-
in all the earth. Who have set your glory above
-
the heavens out of the mouth of babes and nursing
-
infants? You have ordained strength because of
-
your enemies that you may silence the enemy and
-
the avenger. Verse 3. When I consider your heavens,
-
the work of your The moon and the stars which
-
you have ordained. What is man that you are mindful
-
of him? The son of man that you visit him. For
-
you have made him a little lower than angels.
-
And you have crowned him with glory and honor.
-
That word angels. is Elohim. A little lower than
-
angels. That word is Elohim. So, what I'm trying
-
to say is that in several places you could see
-
that sometimes God is angel or Elohim is referring
-
to spirit beings. You understand? But you really
-
have to read to understand is the same word,
-
for example, Elohim, in the beginning, Genesis
-
1 verse 1, God created the what? The heavens
-
and the what? In the earth. That word God, you
-
understand, is not an angel. Do you understand
-
what I'm saying? But it's the same word, Elohim.
-
You understand? Because when you read, by the
-
time you read chapter 2, we now saw that, God
-
ended his work and he rested in the seventh day.
-
Amen. Are we together? So this one we're talking
-
about God the creator, not angel the created.
-
Did you understand what I'm trying to say? So
-
you have to read context to understand whether
-
Elohim is talking about angel or whoever. You
-
understand? Interestingly, when we read When
-
we come to the New Testament, because I told
-
you, the New Testament is not presenting a new
-
God. It's unveiling the real God. It's unveiling
-
the real God. And by the time you come to New
-
Testament, come, let's look at that text, Psalms
-
8, because it was quoted in Hebrews. And I think
-
we're going to study Hebrews, maybe now and,
-
I mean, And maybe Wednesday. Yes. To help us
-
in our clarification. Again, the difference between
-
angels and the son, because it's the son that
-
review God, not angels. Are we together? So as
-
the more we understand the son, the more we know
-
God. Amen. So, so that doing that will help us
-
by the time you move. to the Old Testament you
-
are reading, whatever you see, you will look
-
at it via the lenses of the sun. You can be able
-
to understand what the place is saying. Hebrews
-
chapter 1, verse 1. God, who at various times
-
and in various ways spoke in time past to the
-
fathers by the prophets, has in these last days
-
spoken to us by his Son, whom he has appointed
-
Heirs of all things, through whom also he made
-
the walls. who being the brightness of his glory
-
and the express image of his person, upholding
-
all things by the word of his power, when he
-
had by himself purged our sins, sat at the right
-
hand of the majesty on high. Of the majesty on
-
high. Look at chapter 2. Chapter 2. Verse 5,
-
chapter 2, verse 5. For he has not put the walls
-
to come, of which we speak in subjection to angels.
-
But one testified in a certain place, saying,
-
What is man, that you are mindful of him? Or
-
the son of man, that you take care of him? You
-
have made him a little lower than angels. You
-
have crowned him with glory and honor. and set
-
him over the works of your hands, you have put
-
all things in subjection under his feet. Again,
-
the word angels there, but in Greek, is angelos.
-
Angelos. A -double -G -E -L -O -S. Of course,
-
we see this is a quotation from Psalms 8. Now
-
we will discuss on what is the distinction between
-
angels and the son. You know, what the angel
-
will give will not be the same with what the
-
son will give. They are in a different class.
-
Remember we said the only one and only, that
-
is, he is unique. In his class. Did you understand
-
what I'm trying to say? Yes. Hallelujah. And
-
the idea. And our goal. Is to study. By the works
-
of God. We will know. No more confusion again.
-
About who did what. And who is he. So our focus
-
is that we understand who act what. Because before
-
now, the devil has enjoyed popularity. Jesus
-
unveiled him that he has been sinning from the
-
beginning. The Bible says Cain is of the wicked
-
one. The devil was there behind him doing the
-
thing, influencing him. But we didn't see him.
-
You understand? When devil was actually doing
-
hellfire behind and was destroying the things
-
of Job, Job didn't know the devil was there.
-
What we're saying is that there are so many things
-
you'll be shocked. The one you call it is God.
-
He's not God. Because we are trying to see how
-
we will unveil the person behind the works you
-
have been seeing. That those works are not God's
-
work. Because God's work that he has come to
-
destroy the works of the devil. Hallelujah. And
-
the works of the devil is finishing your life
-
in Jesus name. Even his influence. No more ignorance
-
this year. We are moving in a different dimension.
-
Dimension of knowledge and of greater works.
-
Because greater works is done in knowledge. We
-
appreciate you being here today. We hope you
-
carry this word with you throughout your week.
