walk with God. Don't miss out. Stay with us until
-
the end for a rewarding experience. Let's dive
-
right in. for the prayers. Amen. So, Hebrews
-
1. I'll read from verse 1. God, who at various
-
times and in various ways spoke in time past,
-
the fathers by the prophets, has in these last
-
days spoken to us by his Son, whom he has appointed
-
heir of all things, made the worlds. Verse three,
-
who being the brightness of his glory and the
-
express image of his person and upholding all
-
things by the word of his power, when he had
-
by himself put our sins, sat down at the right
-
hand of the majesty. on high, having become so
-
much better than the angels as he has by inheritance
-
obtained a more excellent name than they. So
-
we stopped last Sunday trying to look at the
-
difference or what we noted that God is known
-
through his son. And we ended by looking at this
-
text, especially when we move to chapter two,
-
we are going there. So today I want to just Look
-
at more difference between angels and God. And
-
of course, Jesus particularly, that is God through
-
Christ. And the essence why we are doing this
-
is to further in our studies, because we know
-
that the law was given. through the appointment
-
of angels or through the directions of angels.
-
And we knew, of course, by now, or we have known
-
that the law came because of transgression. It
-
is a law was given because of transgression.
-
In fact, not just given, He said it was added.
-
That means it was an addition. Hallelujah. And
-
we saw also that the mediation of Moses was also
-
an addition. And all came because of unbelief
-
or because of sin or because of transgression.
-
Now, just look at verse 1. Verse 1. That's God
-
who at various times and in various ways spoke
-
in time past to the fathers by the prophets.
-
So that verse 1 is talking about that is God's
-
words to the fathers because he spoke in time
-
past to the fathers. by the prophets. What did
-
he speak? What did God spoke to the fathers through
-
the prophets? What he spoke is concerning his
-
son. So God at various times and in various ways
-
spoke in time past to the fathers. He spoke to
-
the fathers. to the prophet concerning his son.
-
So it's not that he spoke to them something different
-
from what he spoke to the son in this last days.
-
Are we together? Just look at Luke 24. Luke 24
-
verse 25. By now, that text, someone was supposed
-
to memorize it. Hmm? Verse 25. Then he said to
-
them, all foolish ones and slow of heart to believe
-
all that what? The prophet hath spoken. Remember
-
he said he spoke to the fathers by the prophets.
-
So this is what the prophet spoke to the fathers.
-
Huh? Verse 26, ought not Christ to have suffered
-
these things and to enter into his glory? And
-
beginning at Moses and in all the prophets, he
-
expounded to them in all scriptures the things
-
concerning who? Himself. So in all the scriptures,
-
what he spoke, through the prophet to the fathers.
-
Of course, he's talking about those days. You
-
will see this word to the fathers, to the fathers
-
several times in the book of Hebrews. He's referring
-
to the children of Israel, especially the first
-
generation. Amen? Are we together? Yes. So, now
-
look at verse 4. And it is important for us to
-
note, you see, in these last days, I know that
-
most times when we use the word last days, our
-
focus is in the evil. You understand? Our focus
-
is on the evil. No. Benevolent must have a different
-
mindset concerning last days. Last days is not
-
about evil. Evil will happen. But it's not about
-
evil. Last days is the days of the spirit. Hallelujah.
-
What did I say? The last days is the days of
-
the Spirit. The days where you will see mighty
-
works by the Spirit. When did the Bible say that
-
he will pour out his Spirit? In what? In the
-
last days. That was what Peter was quoting in
-
Acts chapter 2 from verse 17. He was quoting
Acts 2 chapter mention
-
Joel. He called Joel. In the last days, God will
-
pour out his spirit. That's supposed to be the
-
mindset of the believer, not the mindset of evil.
-
Immediately you see an evil done. What is supposed
-
to provoke? You say, no, this is an illegality.
-
It is the things of the spirit we're supposed
-
to be saying. Are we together? And that's why
-
anywhere you see evil, actually multiplying,
-
that means there is need for preaching there.
-
There is need for an order. Amen. Look at verse
-
4. He said, having obtained or having become
-
so much better than angels as he has by inheritance
-
obtained a more excellent name than they. For
-
to which of the angels did he say, You are my
-
son, today I have begotten you. And again, I
-
will be to him a father, and he shall be to me
-
a son. But when he again brings the firstborn
-
into the world, he says, Let all angels of God
-
worship him. And of the angels, he says, who
-
makes his angel spirit and his ministers a flame
-
of fire? But to the son, he says, your throne,
-
O God, is forever and ever. A scepter of righteousness
-
is a scepter of your kingdom. You have love righteousness
-
and heat lawlessness. Therefore, God, your God
-
has anointed you with the oil of gladness. more
-
than your companions. And verse 10. And you,
-
Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of
-
the earth and the heavens. At the works of your
-
hands, they will perish, but you remain and they
-
will all grow old like the garment, like a clock.
-
You will fold them up and you will... and they
-
will be changed, but you are the same, and your
-
years will not fail. But to which of these angels
-
has he ever said, Sit at my right hand till I
-
make your enemies your footstool? Verse 14. Are
-
they not all ministering spirits sent forth to
-
minister for those who will inherit? salvation.
-
Now look at, go back to verse 4. I want you to
-
note that word better. Having become so much
-
better than angels, that word better is an adjective.
-
It's kryton. That word better in Greek, kryton,
-
that is k -r -e -i -t -o -n. K -R -E -I -T -T
-
-O -N. Krypton. Which means, or which implies,
-
superior, greater, more excellent. It is not
-
mere comparison of the same, just like we said,
-
but of a different kind. It's not just to say...
-
They are of the same kind. So this is better
-
than this in terms of either mass, strength,
-
whatever. No. It is of a different kind. So superior
-
of a different kind. That's what we're talking
-
about. And that word appears in the book of Hebrews
-
several times. Let me mention some of those parts.
-
Hebrews chapter 6, verse 9. That word better
-
is there. He said, you are confident of better
-
things concerning you. And then Hebrews chapter
-
7 verse 7 as well. That is, the lesser is blessed
-
by the better. Hebrews 7 verse 19. Bringing in
-
of the better hope. Hebrews 7 .22, a shoti of
-
a better covenant, that word better, covenant.
-
Hebrews 8 .6, Hebrews 8 .6, a mediator of a better
-
covenant, which was established on better promises.
-
Again, let me repeat, Hebrews 6 .9, Hebrews 7
-
.7, Hebrews 7 .19. Hebrews 7, 22. Hebrews 8,
-
verse 6. More on that, Hebrews 9, 23. Better
-
sacrifice. Hebrews 9, 23. Hebrews 10, 34. A better
-
and enduring possession. That's Hebrews 9, 34.
-
Hebrews 11, 16. They desire a better, that is,
-
a heavily. A better. That's Hebrews 11 .16. Hebrews
-
11 .35. A better resurrection. A better resurrection.
-
That's Hebrews 11 .35. Hebrews 11 .40. God having
-
provided something better for us. Something better
-
for us. With what we have already defined, better,
-
that means of a different kind. So, better resurrection.
-
Better sacrifice. Better promises. Better covenant.
-
Better hope. Amen. Better things. So, it's showing
-
something about what Christ provides. Let me
-
add one more, which we are coming to that. Hebrews
-
12, 24. Hebrews 12, 24. The blood of the sprinkling.
-
We have looked at that text. That speaks better
-
things. Not done, but from Abel. Is that correct?
-
Yes. Now, aside that word there, In verse 4,
-
beta, we have also another word there, excellent.
-
He said, having become so much better than the
-
angels, as he has by inheritance obtained a more
-
excellent name than thee. Excellent, that word,
-
more excellent. It was translated from the Greek
-
word. Dear Pharaohs, that is D -I -A -P -H -O
-
-R -O -S. Dear Pharaohs, it implies surpassing.
-
Surpassing or something different. of varying
-
kinds, surpassing, different. That same word
-
in verse 4 that is more excellent is also used
-
in Hebrews 8 verse 6. He has obtained a more
-
excellent ministry. A more excellent ministry.
-
Hebrews 8 verse 6. So what the writer of Hebrews
-
is saying is that what we find and have in Christ
-
is different from what we find in angels. By
-
using the word better, that is, we are assured
-
of better things for you. Better sacrifice, better
-
ministry, better covenant. Are we together? He's
-
talking about things in Christ that are different
-
from what you find in angels. A more excellent
-
name. Look at that in verse 4 of Hebrews 1. That
-
is, he has obtained a more excellent name than
-
they. The they are the angels. Than they. Remember
-
I've already treated in this house a name. We
-
said a name is not a tag. A name is authority.
-
Reputation. A person's position. Authority. So
-
more excellent name means Christ's authority.
-
Are we together? And dominion. Meaning Christ's
-
authority and dominion. are over angels. It's
-
not just that he's of different than them, of
-
course, just like we have said, better. But now
-
we're talking about, by the time you say more
-
excellent, again, he's talking about that he's
-
over, over angels. That is, they are creatures
-
designed to worship and serve the Son. So that
-
means That's the implication to say, have a name,
-
an authority. So they are meant to serve the
-
son. Look at verse five. Verse five, it says,
-
for to which of these angels did he ever say?
-
He's just trying to make a comparison. That is,
-
you are my son today, I have begotten you. And
-
again, I will be to him a father. he shall be
-
to me a son. But when he again brings the firstborn
-
into the world, he says, let all the angels do
-
what? Are we together? Did you see that? Yes.
-
Because it is at the resurrection, Philippians
-
2, that he was given the name. Are we together?
-
Hallelujah. So this, if you look at verse 5 and
-
6, That word, I have begotten you. And in verse
-
6, bring the firstborn into the world. He's talking
-
about Christ's resurrection. He said, you are
-
my son today. Of course, he's not talking about
-
today, today. Have I begotten you? He's talking
-
about Christ's resurrection from the dead. And
-
that is why at his resurrection, He has obtained
-
a more excellent name than be. Such authority
-
is above angels. Again, not just above, but such
-
authority is also over angels. Which means also
-
that angels are to serve him. That's why he says,
-
and let all the angels of God worship you. Worship
-
him. Worship him. So verse 13, look at verse
-
13. He said, but to which of these angels has
-
he ever said, sit at my right hand till I make
-
your enemies your foes too. This was a quotation
-
from Psalms 110 verse 1. Explaining the prophecy.
-
concerning the resurrection of the son. Are we
-
together? The right hand of the father, we have
-
taught in this place, is a position of authority.
-
It was designed for the son and not angels. Please
-
note that. It is designed for who? The son and
-
not who? And not angels. Angels are not in God's
-
right hand. So what is the position of angels?
-
Verse 14. And are they not all ministering spirits
-
sent forth to minister to those who will inherit
-
what? Salvation. Salvation. So verse 14 is saying
-
that they are ministering spirits. They are created
-
to minister to them, that is to man. who shall
-
inherit all their hairs of salvation. So while
-
man worship God, you can see that here, angels
-
worship man. Look at verse six, it says, let
-
all the angels worship him. Now in the resurrection,
-
It's not just only Christ, but also hairs of
-
salvation. Hallelujah. Are we together? Yes.
-
So by the reason of what Christ did, you understand?
-
So angels don't just worship the son. They worship
-
the sons. That is, they serve also who hears
-
of salvation. And this privilege is by reason
-
of what Christ did. Just the same way you are
-
Christ, you understand? At the right hand, we
-
are also there. Where he is, there we are. You
-
understand? Are we together? Yes. In him, we
-
are where he is. Hallelujah. So the writer of
-
Hebrews continue in this distinction. I'm just
-
trying to lay this foundation and somebody needs
-
to be, his self -esteem needs to awoke. You need
-
to come into the reality of who you are. You
-
understand? So brother, By reason of your sonship.
-
You understand what I'm saying? Don't feel privileged
-
that you see angels beyond the privilege in Christ.
-
Did you understand what I'm trying to say? Are
-
we together? That is a better. Better. Better.
-
That is better. Amen. Now look at Hebrews. Therefore,
-
we must give the more earnest heed to the things
-
we have heard, lest we drift away. For if the
-
words or the word spoken through angels prove
-
steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience
-
receive a just reward, How shall we escape? How
-
shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation
-
which at the first began to be spoken by the
-
Lord and was confirmed to us by those who heard
-
him? First and foremost, whoever is a writer
-
of the Hebrews is acknowledging that he was not
-
among the apostles who were working with Jesus.
-
Did you understand what I'm saying? He said what?
-
They were confirmed to who? To us. Are we together?
-
Amen. Yes. Confirmed to us by those who heard
-
him. So whoever is a writer of Hebrews, heard
-
about what the Lord began to preach. He was not
-
there. Secondly, because what was he talking
-
about? Salvation. Again, this, many people thought
-
that the writer of Hebrews is Apostle Paul. But
-
this again shows that it could not have been
-
Apostle Paul. Why? Because Apostle Paul says
-
that the gospel which I preach, that is the salvation
-
which I preach, was not taught to me. You do
-
understand what I'm saying? It was by the revelation
-
of Jesus Christ. Galatians. Galatians chapter
Galatians 1 chapter mention
-
1. So which means is that whoever is this one
-
is saying that we have been taught because it
-
was presented to us by those who heard him. You
-
understand? So Paul says, I did not receive it
-
by any man. I received it by the revelation.
-
Hallelujah. Are we together? Okay. That's all
-
we are doing today. So, look at verse 2. In verse
-
2, he said, the word spoken by angels. Right?
-
This definitely is talking about what we have
-
already noted. Again, confirming that what we
-
have read, Galatians 3 .19. Acts chapter 7, verse
-
53, that the word that is the law came through
-
the appointment of angels. You understand what
-
I'm trying to say? Amen. The Bible says the angels
-
spoke about transgression. Listen, here is us
-
trying to say that both Jesus and the angels
-
spoke, but their emphasis is not the same. You
-
understand what I'm saying? The words spoken
-
through angels, proofs, testifies, and the transgression
-
and disobedience receive a just recompense reward.
-
But look at what is the emphasis of the Lord.
-
Is it about transgression and just recompense
-
reward? No. He said, how shall we escape if we
-
neglect so great salvation, which at first...
-
Began to be spoken by who? The Lord. So the emphasis
-
here is salvation. Hallelujah. Are we together?
-
Amen. Yes. Very important. So, in verse 3, he
-
talks about how great is salvation. So Jesus
-
came to offer salvation. Jesus came to offer
-
salvation. If you read, Marowar started taking
-
us through the teachings of Jesus Christ. So,
-
you can see that the word spoken, as we are noting,
-
is that Jesus focused on speaking about salvation,
-
what he would do. So, through his healing, is
-
pointing to what he will do. Through what he
-
said, is pointing to what he will do. Amen? Look
-
at verse 5 of that same chapter 2. For he has
-
not put the world to come of which we speak in
-
subjection of angels. But one testifies in a
-
certain place, saying, What is man, that you
-
are mindful of him, or the son of man, that you
-
take care of him? You have made him a little
-
lower than angels. You have crowned him with
-
glory and honor and set him over the works of
-
your hands. You have put all things in subjection
-
under his feet. all things in subjection over
-
under his feet. For in that he put all things
-
in subjection under his feet, he left nothing
-
that is not put under him. But now we do not
-
see, not yet see all things, but put under him
-
was nine. But we see Jesus who was made a little
-
lower. than angels for the suffering of death,
-
crowned with glory and honor. And he, by the
-
grace of God, might taste death for everyone.
-
For it was fitting for him, for whom are all
-
things, and by whom are all things, in bringing
-
many sons to glory. to make the captain of their
-
salvation perfect through suffering. That word
-
you see in verse 9, a little lower than angels.
-
It refers to Christ taking the nature of men.
-
You see, when he said he made him a little lower
-
than angels, he's trying to say that Christ took
-
the nature of men. The seed of Abraham. So he
-
was talking about the nature of men. And the
-
reason was for him to die. For him to die and
-
bring many sons to glory. Because he had to die.
-
Look at verse 9. Or let me read from verse 11
-
since we have read 9. For both he who sanctify
-
and those who are sanctified are all of one,
-
for which reason he is not ashamed to call them
-
brethren, saying, I will declare your name to
-
my brethren, and in the midst of the assembly
-
I will sing praise to you. Verse 13. And again,
-
how could my trust in him? And again, here I
-
am. Here am I. And the children whom God has
-
given me. Verse 14. Look at that place. Inasmuch
-
then as the children have partaken of flesh and
-
blood, he himself likewise share in the same.
-
Did you see that? He share in the same. He share
-
the nature of them. He took their nature. That
-
through death he might destroy him who had the
-
power of death. That is the devil. and release
-
those who through the fear of death were all
-
their lifetime subject to who? To bondage. For
-
indeed, he does not give aid to angels, but he
-
does give aid to the seed of Abraham. Verse 17,
-
Therefore in all things he... Did you see that?
-
He had to be made like his brethren. Again, talking
-
about that lower than angel. He had to be made
-
like his brethren. That he might be a merciful
-
and faithful high priest in the things pertaining
-
to God to make propitiation for the sins of the
-
people. Hallelujah. for the sins of his people.
-
For in that he has shared, has suffered, been
-
tempted, he is able to aid those who are being
-
tempted. Hallelujah. Now move to chapter 12,
-
Hebrews chapter 12. Hebrews chapter 12. So I
Hebrews 12 chapter mention Hebrews 12 chapter mention
-
want you to know that By the mercies of God and
-
by his grace, we are not the same level with
-
angels. Are we together? We are not of the same
-
class. We are of a different kind. Amen. We don't
-
feel important just when we see angels. Amen.
-
Because we are already important in him. So there
-
is no importance that you should feel above that
-
which or above where you are and the position
-
and the rights and the privileges you have in
-
Christ. Chapter 12, verse 18. Chapter 12, verse
-
18. For you have not come to the mountain. Now,
-
he's talking, if you read behind, he's talking
-
about, he's trying to distinguish, as we have
-
noted earlier on, there's something I want to
-
point out here, that's why I'm reading it again.
-
Distinguish between where the believer is and
-
where the old system was. This is why he's telling
-
the believer, you have not come to the mountain
-
that may be touched and that burned with fire.
-
This mountain we have or we are is not a material
-
mountain. It is an immaterial one. Are we together?
-
Amen. That may be touched. and are bound with
-
fire, and blackness, and darkness, and tempest,
-
and the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of
-
words, so that those who heard it begged that
-
the word should not be spoken to them anymore.
-
for they could not endure what was commanded.
-
And if so much as a beast touched the mountain,
-
it shall be stone or shot with an arrow. And
-
so terrifying was the sight that Moses said,
-
I am exceedingly afraid and trembling. So it
-
wasn't just only, even Moses, I engage the angels,
-
was terrified. You understand? Verse 22, he said,
-
but you have come to Mount Zion. Now this is
-
where the believer is. You have come to Mount
-
Zion and to the city of the living God. This
-
is a city that Abraham was looking and waiting
-
for, whose founder and builder is God. The heavenly
-
Jerusalem, to an immurable company of angels,
-
to the general assembly and the church of the
-
firstborn, who are registered in heaven, to God
-
the judge of all, to the spirit of just men made
-
perfect. to the spirit of just men made perfect.
-
So you could see just a contrast. So in Mount
-
Zion, there is no fear. You understand? There's
-
no fear in Mount Zion. It's a city of the living
-
God. So God revealed himself through the son,
-
not through angels. Revelation. Please hear me.
-
Revelation of God is to those who are sons. Amen.
-
There is a moment before Jesus died and he told
-
his disciples, I have so many things to tell
-
you, but you cannot bear it. But he said, when
-
the spirit is come. So there is a game changer.
-
That means as we read and study the word, you
-
have to be careful from who you pick your doctrine.
-
Are we together? Amen. Yes. Because those who
-
reveal or have the right to reveal God or the
-
privilege, to reveal God are the sons. Amen.
-
Are we together? So, the manifestation of God
-
in the flesh, you can see that even in Mount
-
Zion, he said, to immurable company of angels,
-
I'm coming. You will see how even the angels
-
now that are serving us, their minds is renewed.
-
The way they used to behave, that's not how they
-
are behaving now. There's a reason. Because there
-
is a revelation of God through the Son, and they
-
also learn, ah, that's not how to act. You understand?
-
And so, their minds are renewed. You understand?
-
We read last week about 1 Timothy 3 .16. We saw
-
that the angels saw God when He revealed Himself
-
in Christ. So since then, we have seen the behaviors
-
of angels even changed over time. So what that
-
means is that, which I'm going to do some little
-
things here. Go back to 2 Kings. Now, just the
-
same way before I go to 2 Kings. Listen, I'm
-
trying to lay a foundation for us to understand
-
something. Come to, let me read Ephesians first.
-
Ephesians 3, verse 15. I'm just trying to let
-
somebody to understand that you have a better
-
position. Tell somebody close to you, you have
-
a better position. Amen. Look at verse 10 first.
-
Would I say, yes. It's 10 hours to go. To the
-
intents that now, what happened? The manifold
-
wisdom of God might be made known by the church
-
to who? To principalities and powers in where?
-
In the heavenlies. So even principalities and
-
powers in the heavenly. are depending on you
-
for revelation. This manifold wisdom is talking
-
about revelation of God. Amen? The wisdom of
-
God means the revelation of God. So, that means
-
if they have been learning now, Which I'm coming
-
back to this text. That means they also have
-
been learning before now. That means the attitude
-
of angels has been because of the attitude they
-
see in men. Are we together? Amen. Amen. Look
-
at 2 Kings. Let's go back to 2 Kings. Verse 1,
-
2 Kings 1, 2 Kings 1, verse 12. So Elijah answered
-
and said to them, if I am a man of God, let fire
-
come down from heaven and consume you and your
-
50 men. And the fire of God came down from heaven
-
and consumed him. and his 50. Those of us who
-
are in the training center, we started discussing
-
how the Old Testament was written. So probably
-
you must have started to get what we mean by
-
phenomenological languages. You understand? Now,
-
look at verse 13. And he, again, he sent a third
-
captain of the 50 with his 50. And the third
-
captain, of fifty went up and came and fell on
-
his knees before Elijah and pleaded with him
-
and said to him, Man of God, please let my life
-
and the life of these fifty servants of yours
-
be precious in your sight. I don't think the
-
king understood what this man came to do. Because
-
the king sent him to go and grab Elijah. When
-
he saw what happened to the other one, he started
-
begging. Verse 14. Look, fire has come down from
-
heaven and burned up the first two captains of
-
the fifties with their fifties. If you have been
-
in the cell meeting, you know that once we say
-
heaven in the sun does not mean where God dwells.
-
Because you know, once you say heaven, Many people's
-
mind goes to, but in heaven, we have principalities
-
and powers. You do understand what I'm saying?
-
Are we together? So heaven means from the immaterial.
-
Amen? But let my life now be precious in your
-
sight. Verse 15, And the angel of the Lord said
-
to Elijah, Go down with him. Do not be afraid
-
of him. So he arose and went down with him to
-
the king. Now, when you read Olympia, attention,
-
you would think it's only Elijah that is there.
-
But who did you see another being there? The
-
angel of God. So note in verse 15, the angel
-
of the Lord said to Elijah, so an angels, you
-
remember when we were making comparison between
-
the two mountains. One that represents the law.
-
What did you see on the mountain that represents
-
the law? Fire, smoke, darkness. Did you hear
-
that? Yes. So when Elijah was doing this, remember
-
Jesus also, because of the discussion and the
-
event that happened with the disciples, we understood
-
clearly that fire never came from God. Understand?
-
So, behind the scene, the angel was responsible
-
for bringing down the fire and killing the people.
-
How did the angel get involved again? How did
-
the angel get involved? Elijah said, if I be
-
a man of God, let fire come down. Understand?
-
Let fire come down and consume these 50. When
-
God created angels, we know that the intent of
-
God is revealed more vividly by the revelation
-
of Jesus. But when God created angels, it was
-
actually to serve man. You understand what I'm
-
saying? So, Whatever was the attitude of men,
-
their lack of understanding of who God is also
-
affected the attitudes and the actions of angels.
-
As I said last Sunday, it's not just angels.
-
Have you not seen men that are believers act
-
as if they were unbelievers? What's the difference?
-
Knowledge gap. The more they know about the God
-
and the spirit they carry, the more they behave
-
well according to their identity. Are we together?
-
So, again, by the time you read Luke chapter
Luke 19 chapter mention
-
19, which I said the events that happened, Jesus'
-
rebuke from verse 51 to 56, you will see the
-
events that happened. Because the disciples wanted
-
to replicate what Elijah did. But Elijah told
-
them, you do not, I mean, Jesus said, you do
-
not know what manner of spirit you are. Which
-
means that that spirit that did that to Elijah
-
is not the same as the spirit of God. So, Jesus,
-
we have seen a change. What I'm trying to say
-
is that when you read where we read in this Ephesians
-
3 .10, that means the attitudes we are responsible,
-
the church, to reveal to the principalities who
-
God is and they will behave well. You know, when
-
we are talking about heaven, and I remember that
-
time when we were looking at the issue of heaven.
-
You understand? Many people said, but the angel
-
said, Huh? What did the angel say in Acts? He
-
said, The way you see him go up, that's how you
-
will do it. That's how you will come. That's
-
how many people pick their doctrine from there.
-
What did we say? Who are supposed to be the one
-
authorized to give doctrine, to give revelation?
-
Sons of God. Men. Men. So it is important. Again,
-
do you remember also in Acts chapter 2? You understand?
Acts 2 chapter mention
-
Where we got the issue when people are saying
-
tongues, speaking in tongues is of men. Like
-
this is a language of men that you can speak
-
in tongues and somebody can hear. Are we together?
-
How did they come with that revelation? Is it
-
revelation? Revelation. You understand? How did
-
they arrive at that? Because they read Acts chapter
Acts 2 chapter mention
-
2. Maybe because I'm finding somewhere too close.
-
I don't want to move beyond this because we have
-
other things. But this is the point. Go to Acts
Acts 2 chapter mention
-
chapter 2. I'm trying to lay a foundation to
-
see that. You have to be careful where you pick
-
the knowledge about the things of God and of
-
God. Look at Acts chapter 2. You see, by the
Acts 2 chapter mention
-
time you read 4, and then you move and set verse
-
5. And there were dwellings in Jerusalem, Jews,
-
devout men from every nation under heaven. And
-
when this sound occurred, a multitude came together
-
and were confused because everyone heard them
-
speaking in his own language. This was... Luke
-
reporting. Then they were amazed and marveled,
-
saying to one another, Luke, are not all these
-
who speak Galileans? Verse 8. How and how is
-
it that we hear each in our own language? In
-
which we were born. Did you see that? So, who
-
said that we hear everyone in his own language?
-
Oh, are you together with me? Are you not reading?
-
Who said that statement? The people there. Who
-
were not even born again at that time. But they
-
are the ones that define the doctrine. about
-
that when you speak in tongues, everybody's supposed
-
to hear his own language. How did you know that?
-
This is the only place that talks about that.
-
And people pick it. Who said that we hear everyone
-
in his own language? The people there. That was
-
what they were reporting. And so a lot of people
-
say that somebody's supposed to hear you and
-
they interpret it. How did you know? Some people
-
have even given testimony, sir, that they have
-
gone to a place and they spoke in tongues and
-
some people hear them in their own language.
-
And then you neglected Peter himself. You understand
-
what I'm saying? You neglected Paul who wrote
-
a lot about it. If you read here, it was the
-
people who said it where they are the one who
-
said. How is it that we hear everyone in his
-
own language? Now, because there's a lot that
-
you don't know there. This where people, so the
-
question I'm trying to ask is that, this where
-
people without even the spirit, how could they
-
have actually been able to give us a clarity
-
on what that means? What I'm trying to say is
-
that, There are people who spoke all kinds of
-
things about the things of the Spirit, about
-
the things of God. The question is that, who
-
will you believe? Did you understand what I'm
-
trying to say? So angels spoke. When we say angels,
-
we don't say Sembe or we say Sembe. What we're
-
trying to say is that you need to interrogate
-
and understand. When Luke was to write about
-
Jesus and about what he has done, began to do
-
and teach, who did he go? Did he go to the bystanders
-
around town and say, hey, I know you were there
-
when Jesus was doing? What did he say? No. The
-
Bible says he went to those who were ministers
-
of the word. The word minister is not any kind
-
of person. It's people who are authorized. And
-
that is what we are saying. So as you study the
-
word, for us to know greater things and to know
-
the things Jesus did and the greater things,
-
we have to be careful and study well. Who did
-
what and by who? This is very important. Very,
-
very crucial. Are we together? So many things
-
happen. but the angels are depending on you to
-
know the Lord. Tell your neighbor, the angels
-
are depending on you to know the Lord. Hallelujah.
-
Spirit's wings are also waiting for you to know
-
the Lord. So, when Paul told Peter, and my sorry,
-
when Paul told Timothy, take heed to yourself.
-
First Timothy, 4 .16. Take it to yourself and
-
to the doctrine. For in doing this, you will
-
serve both yourself and to those who hear you.
-
Please, you have to know the people included
-
in those who hear you, include who? Include who?
-
They are here hearing us. You understand what
-
I'm saying? So the more you speak error, He will
-
be confusing them too. What I'm trying to say
-
is that don't look down on yourself. God has
-
honored us and by his spirit and by his power
-
and by his name, we are honored in him. We are
-
honored in him. So as you go and as we continue
-
studying to understand God, we know now that
-
he revealed himself. Through the son. Are we
-
together? He revealed himself through the son.
-
And the son in us. Through him. That the apostles
-
wrote revelation. This is the reason why if you
-
read the Bible. You cannot ignore apostolic interpretation.
-
Did you understand what I'm saying? Yes. And
-
that's one of the biggest problems. That you
-
cannot be a specialist of the Old Testament and
-
then you are busy reading the Old Testament.
-
To understand the Old, you have to bring it together.
-
What the apostles taught. The passages you are
-
saying you are reading, they have read it. How
-
come nobody is saying what you are saying? You
-
know what I'm saying? Yes. That was the only
-
material they had. Time go, we have to complete
-
the New Testament text now. Amen? Can you just
-
pray? share this message with someone you care
-
about. Until next time, stay blessed.
