  1. Welcome to NECF Sermons. Each message here is

  2. designed to uplift and strengthen you in your

  3. walk with God. Don't miss out. Stay with us until

  4. the end for a rewarding experience. Let's dive

  5. right in. for the prayers. Amen. So, Hebrews

  6. 1. I'll read from verse 1. God, who at various

  7. times and in various ways spoke in time past,

  8. the fathers by the prophets, has in these last

  9. days spoken to us by his Son, whom he has appointed

  10. heir of all things, made the worlds. Verse three,

  11. who being the brightness of his glory and the

  12. express image of his person and upholding all

  13. things by the word of his power, when he had

  14. by himself put our sins, sat down at the right

  15. hand of the majesty. on high, having become so

  16. much better than the angels as he has by inheritance

  17. obtained a more excellent name than they. So

  18. we stopped last Sunday trying to look at the

  19. difference or what we noted that God is known

  20. through his son. And we ended by looking at this

  21. text, especially when we move to chapter two,

  22. we are going there. So today I want to just Look

  23. at more difference between angels and God. And

  24. of course, Jesus particularly, that is God through

  25. Christ. And the essence why we are doing this

  26. is to further in our studies, because we know

  27. that the law was given. through the appointment

  28. of angels or through the directions of angels.

  29. And we knew, of course, by now, or we have known

  30. that the law came because of transgression. It

  31. is a law was given because of transgression.

  32. In fact, not just given, He said it was added.

  33. That means it was an addition. Hallelujah. And

  34. we saw also that the mediation of Moses was also

  35. an addition. And all came because of unbelief

  36. or because of sin or because of transgression.

  37. Now, just look at verse 1. Verse 1. That's God

  38. who at various times and in various ways spoke

  39. in time past to the fathers by the prophets.

  40. So that verse 1 is talking about that is God's

  41. words to the fathers because he spoke in time

  42. past to the fathers. by the prophets. What did

  43. he speak? What did God spoke to the fathers through

  44. the prophets? What he spoke is concerning his

  45. son. So God at various times and in various ways

  46. spoke in time past to the fathers. He spoke to

  47. the fathers. to the prophet concerning his son.

  48. So it's not that he spoke to them something different

  49. from what he spoke to the son in this last days.

  50. Are we together? Just look at Luke 24. Luke 24

    Luke 24:25

  51. verse 25. By now, that text, someone was supposed

  52. to memorize it. Hmm? Verse 25. Then he said to

  53. them, all foolish ones and slow of heart to believe

  54. all that what? The prophet hath spoken. Remember

  55. he said he spoke to the fathers by the prophets.

  56. So this is what the prophet spoke to the fathers.

  57. Huh? Verse 26, ought not Christ to have suffered

  58. these things and to enter into his glory? And

  59. beginning at Moses and in all the prophets, he

  60. expounded to them in all scriptures the things

  61. concerning who? Himself. So in all the scriptures,

  62. what he spoke, through the prophet to the fathers.

  63. Of course, he's talking about those days. You

  64. will see this word to the fathers, to the fathers

  65. several times in the book of Hebrews. He's referring

  66. to the children of Israel, especially the first

  67. generation. Amen? Are we together? Yes. So, now

  68. look at verse 4. And it is important for us to

  69. note, you see, in these last days, I know that

  70. most times when we use the word last days, our

  71. focus is in the evil. You understand? Our focus

  72. is on the evil. No. Benevolent must have a different

  73. mindset concerning last days. Last days is not

  74. about evil. Evil will happen. But it's not about

  75. evil. Last days is the days of the spirit. Hallelujah.

  76. What did I say? The last days is the days of

  77. the Spirit. The days where you will see mighty

  78. works by the Spirit. When did the Bible say that

  79. he will pour out his Spirit? In what? In the

  80. last days. That was what Peter was quoting in

  81. Acts chapter 2 from verse 17. He was quoting

    Acts 2 chapter mention

  82. Joel. He called Joel. In the last days, God will

  83. pour out his spirit. That's supposed to be the

  84. mindset of the believer, not the mindset of evil.

  85. Immediately you see an evil done. What is supposed

  86. to provoke? You say, no, this is an illegality.

  87. It is the things of the spirit we're supposed

  88. to be saying. Are we together? And that's why

  89. anywhere you see evil, actually multiplying,

  90. that means there is need for preaching there.

  91. There is need for an order. Amen. Look at verse

  92. 4. He said, having obtained or having become

  93. so much better than angels as he has by inheritance

  94. obtained a more excellent name than they. For

  95. to which of the angels did he say, You are my

  96. son, today I have begotten you. And again, I

  97. will be to him a father, and he shall be to me

  98. a son. But when he again brings the firstborn

  99. into the world, he says, Let all angels of God

  100. worship him. And of the angels, he says, who

  101. makes his angel spirit and his ministers a flame

  102. of fire? But to the son, he says, your throne,

  103. O God, is forever and ever. A scepter of righteousness

  104. is a scepter of your kingdom. You have love righteousness

  105. and heat lawlessness. Therefore, God, your God

  106. has anointed you with the oil of gladness. more

  107. than your companions. And verse 10. And you,

  108. Lord, in the beginning laid the foundation of

  109. the earth and the heavens. At the works of your

  110. hands, they will perish, but you remain and they

  111. will all grow old like the garment, like a clock.

  112. You will fold them up and you will... and they

  113. will be changed, but you are the same, and your

  114. years will not fail. But to which of these angels

  115. has he ever said, Sit at my right hand till I

  116. make your enemies your footstool? Verse 14. Are

  117. they not all ministering spirits sent forth to

  118. minister for those who will inherit? salvation.

  119. Now look at, go back to verse 4. I want you to

  120. note that word better. Having become so much

  121. better than angels, that word better is an adjective.

  122. It's kryton. That word better in Greek, kryton,

  123. that is k -r -e -i -t -o -n. K -R -E -I -T -T

  124. -O -N. Krypton. Which means, or which implies,

  125. superior, greater, more excellent. It is not

  126. mere comparison of the same, just like we said,

  127. but of a different kind. It's not just to say...

  128. They are of the same kind. So this is better

  129. than this in terms of either mass, strength,

  130. whatever. No. It is of a different kind. So superior

  131. of a different kind. That's what we're talking

  132. about. And that word appears in the book of Hebrews

  133. several times. Let me mention some of those parts.

  134. Hebrews chapter 6, verse 9. That word better

    Hebrews 6:9

  135. is there. He said, you are confident of better

  136. things concerning you. And then Hebrews chapter

    Hebrews 7:7

  137. 7 verse 7 as well. That is, the lesser is blessed

  138. by the better. Hebrews 7 verse 19. Bringing in

    Hebrews 7:19

  139. of the better hope. Hebrews 7 .22, a shoti of

  140. a better covenant, that word better, covenant.

  141. Hebrews 8 .6, Hebrews 8 .6, a mediator of a better

  142. covenant, which was established on better promises.

  143. Again, let me repeat, Hebrews 6 .9, Hebrews 7

  144. .7, Hebrews 7 .19. Hebrews 7, 22. Hebrews 8,

    Hebrews 8:6

  145. verse 6. More on that, Hebrews 9, 23. Better

  146. sacrifice. Hebrews 9, 23. Hebrews 10, 34. A better

  147. and enduring possession. That's Hebrews 9, 34.

  148. Hebrews 11, 16. They desire a better, that is,

  149. a heavily. A better. That's Hebrews 11 .16. Hebrews

  150. 11 .35. A better resurrection. A better resurrection.

  151. That's Hebrews 11 .35. Hebrews 11 .40. God having

  152. provided something better for us. Something better

  153. for us. With what we have already defined, better,

  154. that means of a different kind. So, better resurrection.

  155. Better sacrifice. Better promises. Better covenant.

  156. Better hope. Amen. Better things. So, it's showing

  157. something about what Christ provides. Let me

  158. add one more, which we are coming to that. Hebrews

  159. 12, 24. Hebrews 12, 24. The blood of the sprinkling.

  160. We have looked at that text. That speaks better

  161. things. Not done, but from Abel. Is that correct?

  162. Yes. Now, aside that word there, In verse 4,

  163. beta, we have also another word there, excellent.

  164. He said, having become so much better than the

  165. angels, as he has by inheritance obtained a more

  166. excellent name than thee. Excellent, that word,

  167. more excellent. It was translated from the Greek

  168. word. Dear Pharaohs, that is D -I -A -P -H -O

  169. -R -O -S. Dear Pharaohs, it implies surpassing.

  170. Surpassing or something different. of varying

  171. kinds, surpassing, different. That same word

  172. in verse 4 that is more excellent is also used

  173. in Hebrews 8 verse 6. He has obtained a more

    Hebrews 8:6

  174. excellent ministry. A more excellent ministry.

  175. Hebrews 8 verse 6. So what the writer of Hebrews

    Hebrews 8:6

  176. is saying is that what we find and have in Christ

  177. is different from what we find in angels. By

  178. using the word better, that is, we are assured

  179. of better things for you. Better sacrifice, better

  180. ministry, better covenant. Are we together? He's

  181. talking about things in Christ that are different

  182. from what you find in angels. A more excellent

  183. name. Look at that in verse 4 of Hebrews 1. That

  184. is, he has obtained a more excellent name than

  185. they. The they are the angels. Than they. Remember

  186. I've already treated in this house a name. We

  187. said a name is not a tag. A name is authority.

  188. Reputation. A person's position. Authority. So

  189. more excellent name means Christ's authority.

  190. Are we together? And dominion. Meaning Christ's

  191. authority and dominion. are over angels. It's

  192. not just that he's of different than them, of

  193. course, just like we have said, better. But now

  194. we're talking about, by the time you say more

  195. excellent, again, he's talking about that he's

  196. over, over angels. That is, they are creatures

  197. designed to worship and serve the Son. So that

  198. means That's the implication to say, have a name,

  199. an authority. So they are meant to serve the

  200. son. Look at verse five. Verse five, it says,

  201. for to which of these angels did he ever say?

  202. He's just trying to make a comparison. That is,

  203. you are my son today, I have begotten you. And

  204. again, I will be to him a father. he shall be

  205. to me a son. But when he again brings the firstborn

  206. into the world, he says, let all the angels do

  207. what? Are we together? Did you see that? Yes.

  208. Because it is at the resurrection, Philippians

  209. 2, that he was given the name. Are we together?

  210. Hallelujah. So this, if you look at verse 5 and

  211. 6, That word, I have begotten you. And in verse

  212. 6, bring the firstborn into the world. He's talking

  213. about Christ's resurrection. He said, you are

  214. my son today. Of course, he's not talking about

  215. today, today. Have I begotten you? He's talking

  216. about Christ's resurrection from the dead. And

  217. that is why at his resurrection, He has obtained

  218. a more excellent name than be. Such authority

  219. is above angels. Again, not just above, but such

  220. authority is also over angels. Which means also

  221. that angels are to serve him. That's why he says,

  222. and let all the angels of God worship you. Worship

  223. him. Worship him. So verse 13, look at verse

  224. 13. He said, but to which of these angels has

  225. he ever said, sit at my right hand till I make

  226. your enemies your foes too. This was a quotation

  227. from Psalms 110 verse 1. Explaining the prophecy.

    Psalms 110:1

  228. concerning the resurrection of the son. Are we

  229. together? The right hand of the father, we have

  230. taught in this place, is a position of authority.

  231. It was designed for the son and not angels. Please

  232. note that. It is designed for who? The son and

  233. not who? And not angels. Angels are not in God's

  234. right hand. So what is the position of angels?

  235. Verse 14. And are they not all ministering spirits

  236. sent forth to minister to those who will inherit

  237. what? Salvation. Salvation. So verse 14 is saying

  238. that they are ministering spirits. They are created

  239. to minister to them, that is to man. who shall

  240. inherit all their hairs of salvation. So while

  241. man worship God, you can see that here, angels

  242. worship man. Look at verse six, it says, let

  243. all the angels worship him. Now in the resurrection,

  244. It's not just only Christ, but also hairs of

  245. salvation. Hallelujah. Are we together? Yes.

  246. So by the reason of what Christ did, you understand?

  247. So angels don't just worship the son. They worship

  248. the sons. That is, they serve also who hears

  249. of salvation. And this privilege is by reason

  250. of what Christ did. Just the same way you are

  251. Christ, you understand? At the right hand, we

  252. are also there. Where he is, there we are. You

  253. understand? Are we together? Yes. In him, we

  254. are where he is. Hallelujah. So the writer of

  255. Hebrews continue in this distinction. I'm just

  256. trying to lay this foundation and somebody needs

  257. to be, his self -esteem needs to awoke. You need

  258. to come into the reality of who you are. You

  259. understand? So brother, By reason of your sonship.

  260. You understand what I'm saying? Don't feel privileged

  261. that you see angels beyond the privilege in Christ.

  262. Did you understand what I'm trying to say? Are

  263. we together? That is a better. Better. Better.

  264. That is better. Amen. Now look at Hebrews. Therefore,

  265. we must give the more earnest heed to the things

  266. we have heard, lest we drift away. For if the

  267. words or the word spoken through angels prove

  268. steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience

  269. receive a just reward, How shall we escape? How

  270. shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation

  271. which at the first began to be spoken by the

  272. Lord and was confirmed to us by those who heard

  273. him? First and foremost, whoever is a writer

  274. of the Hebrews is acknowledging that he was not

  275. among the apostles who were working with Jesus.

  276. Did you understand what I'm saying? He said what?

  277. They were confirmed to who? To us. Are we together?

  278. Amen. Yes. Confirmed to us by those who heard

  279. him. So whoever is a writer of Hebrews, heard

  280. about what the Lord began to preach. He was not

  281. there. Secondly, because what was he talking

  282. about? Salvation. Again, this, many people thought

  283. that the writer of Hebrews is Apostle Paul. But

  284. this again shows that it could not have been

  285. Apostle Paul. Why? Because Apostle Paul says

  286. that the gospel which I preach, that is the salvation

  287. which I preach, was not taught to me. You do

  288. understand what I'm saying? It was by the revelation

  289. of Jesus Christ. Galatians. Galatians chapter

    Galatians 1 chapter mention

  290. 1. So which means is that whoever is this one

  291. is saying that we have been taught because it

  292. was presented to us by those who heard him. You

  293. understand? So Paul says, I did not receive it

  294. by any man. I received it by the revelation.

  295. Hallelujah. Are we together? Okay. That's all

  296. we are doing today. So, look at verse 2. In verse

  297. 2, he said, the word spoken by angels. Right?

  298. This definitely is talking about what we have

  299. already noted. Again, confirming that what we

  300. have read, Galatians 3 .19. Acts chapter 7, verse

    Acts 7:53

  301. 53, that the word that is the law came through

  302. the appointment of angels. You understand what

  303. I'm trying to say? Amen. The Bible says the angels

  304. spoke about transgression. Listen, here is us

  305. trying to say that both Jesus and the angels

  306. spoke, but their emphasis is not the same. You

  307. understand what I'm saying? The words spoken

  308. through angels, proofs, testifies, and the transgression

  309. and disobedience receive a just recompense reward.

  310. But look at what is the emphasis of the Lord.

  311. Is it about transgression and just recompense

  312. reward? No. He said, how shall we escape if we

  313. neglect so great salvation, which at first...

  314. Began to be spoken by who? The Lord. So the emphasis

  315. here is salvation. Hallelujah. Are we together?

  316. Amen. Yes. Very important. So, in verse 3, he

  317. talks about how great is salvation. So Jesus

  318. came to offer salvation. Jesus came to offer

  319. salvation. If you read, Marowar started taking

  320. us through the teachings of Jesus Christ. So,

  321. you can see that the word spoken, as we are noting,

  322. is that Jesus focused on speaking about salvation,

  323. what he would do. So, through his healing, is

  324. pointing to what he will do. Through what he

  325. said, is pointing to what he will do. Amen? Look

  326. at verse 5 of that same chapter 2. For he has

  327. not put the world to come of which we speak in

  328. subjection of angels. But one testifies in a

  329. certain place, saying, What is man, that you

  330. are mindful of him, or the son of man, that you

  331. take care of him? You have made him a little

  332. lower than angels. You have crowned him with

  333. glory and honor and set him over the works of

  334. your hands. You have put all things in subjection

  335. under his feet. all things in subjection over

  336. under his feet. For in that he put all things

  337. in subjection under his feet, he left nothing

  338. that is not put under him. But now we do not

  339. see, not yet see all things, but put under him

  340. was nine. But we see Jesus who was made a little

  341. lower. than angels for the suffering of death,

  342. crowned with glory and honor. And he, by the

  343. grace of God, might taste death for everyone.

  344. For it was fitting for him, for whom are all

  345. things, and by whom are all things, in bringing

  346. many sons to glory. to make the captain of their

  347. salvation perfect through suffering. That word

  348. you see in verse 9, a little lower than angels.

  349. It refers to Christ taking the nature of men.

  350. You see, when he said he made him a little lower

  351. than angels, he's trying to say that Christ took

  352. the nature of men. The seed of Abraham. So he

  353. was talking about the nature of men. And the

  354. reason was for him to die. For him to die and

  355. bring many sons to glory. Because he had to die.

  356. Look at verse 9. Or let me read from verse 11

  357. since we have read 9. For both he who sanctify

  358. and those who are sanctified are all of one,

  359. for which reason he is not ashamed to call them

  360. brethren, saying, I will declare your name to

  361. my brethren, and in the midst of the assembly

  362. I will sing praise to you. Verse 13. And again,

  363. how could my trust in him? And again, here I

  364. am. Here am I. And the children whom God has

  365. given me. Verse 14. Look at that place. Inasmuch

  366. then as the children have partaken of flesh and

  367. blood, he himself likewise share in the same.

  368. Did you see that? He share in the same. He share

  369. the nature of them. He took their nature. That

  370. through death he might destroy him who had the

  371. power of death. That is the devil. and release

  372. those who through the fear of death were all

  373. their lifetime subject to who? To bondage. For

  374. indeed, he does not give aid to angels, but he

  375. does give aid to the seed of Abraham. Verse 17,

  376. Therefore in all things he... Did you see that?

  377. He had to be made like his brethren. Again, talking

  378. about that lower than angel. He had to be made

  379. like his brethren. That he might be a merciful

  380. and faithful high priest in the things pertaining

  381. to God to make propitiation for the sins of the

  382. people. Hallelujah. for the sins of his people.

  383. For in that he has shared, has suffered, been

  384. tempted, he is able to aid those who are being

  385. tempted. Hallelujah. Now move to chapter 12,

  386. Hebrews chapter 12. Hebrews chapter 12. So I

Hebrews 12 chapter mention Hebrews 12 chapter mention

  387. want you to know that By the mercies of God and

  388. by his grace, we are not the same level with

  389. angels. Are we together? We are not of the same

  390. class. We are of a different kind. Amen. We don't

  391. feel important just when we see angels. Amen.

  392. Because we are already important in him. So there

  393. is no importance that you should feel above that

  394. which or above where you are and the position

  395. and the rights and the privileges you have in

  396. Christ. Chapter 12, verse 18. Chapter 12, verse

  397. 18. For you have not come to the mountain. Now,

  398. he's talking, if you read behind, he's talking

  399. about, he's trying to distinguish, as we have

  400. noted earlier on, there's something I want to

  401. point out here, that's why I'm reading it again.

  402. Distinguish between where the believer is and

  403. where the old system was. This is why he's telling

  404. the believer, you have not come to the mountain

  405. that may be touched and that burned with fire.

  406. This mountain we have or we are is not a material

  407. mountain. It is an immaterial one. Are we together?

  408. Amen. That may be touched. and are bound with

  409. fire, and blackness, and darkness, and tempest,

  410. and the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of

  411. words, so that those who heard it begged that

  412. the word should not be spoken to them anymore.

  413. for they could not endure what was commanded.

  414. And if so much as a beast touched the mountain,

  415. it shall be stone or shot with an arrow. And

  416. so terrifying was the sight that Moses said,

  417. I am exceedingly afraid and trembling. So it

  418. wasn't just only, even Moses, I engage the angels,

  419. was terrified. You understand? Verse 22, he said,

  420. but you have come to Mount Zion. Now this is

  421. where the believer is. You have come to Mount

  422. Zion and to the city of the living God. This

  423. is a city that Abraham was looking and waiting

  424. for, whose founder and builder is God. The heavenly

  425. Jerusalem, to an immurable company of angels,

  426. to the general assembly and the church of the

  427. firstborn, who are registered in heaven, to God

  428. the judge of all, to the spirit of just men made

  429. perfect. to the spirit of just men made perfect.

  430. So you could see just a contrast. So in Mount

  431. Zion, there is no fear. You understand? There's

  432. no fear in Mount Zion. It's a city of the living

  433. God. So God revealed himself through the son,

  434. not through angels. Revelation. Please hear me.

  435. Revelation of God is to those who are sons. Amen.

  436. There is a moment before Jesus died and he told

  437. his disciples, I have so many things to tell

  438. you, but you cannot bear it. But he said, when

  439. the spirit is come. So there is a game changer.

  440. That means as we read and study the word, you

  441. have to be careful from who you pick your doctrine.

  442. Are we together? Amen. Yes. Because those who

  443. reveal or have the right to reveal God or the

  444. privilege, to reveal God are the sons. Amen.

  445. Are we together? So, the manifestation of God

  446. in the flesh, you can see that even in Mount

  447. Zion, he said, to immurable company of angels,

  448. I'm coming. You will see how even the angels

  449. now that are serving us, their minds is renewed.

  450. The way they used to behave, that's not how they

  451. are behaving now. There's a reason. Because there

  452. is a revelation of God through the Son, and they

  453. also learn, ah, that's not how to act. You understand?

  454. And so, their minds are renewed. You understand?

  455. We read last week about 1 Timothy 3 .16. We saw

  456. that the angels saw God when He revealed Himself

  457. in Christ. So since then, we have seen the behaviors

  458. of angels even changed over time. So what that

  459. means is that, which I'm going to do some little

  460. things here. Go back to 2 Kings. Now, just the

  461. same way before I go to 2 Kings. Listen, I'm

  462. trying to lay a foundation for us to understand

  463. something. Come to, let me read Ephesians first.

  464. Ephesians 3, verse 15. I'm just trying to let

    Ephesians 3:15

  465. somebody to understand that you have a better

  466. position. Tell somebody close to you, you have

  467. a better position. Amen. Look at verse 10 first.

  468. Would I say, yes. It's 10 hours to go. To the

  469. intents that now, what happened? The manifold

  470. wisdom of God might be made known by the church

  471. to who? To principalities and powers in where?

  472. In the heavenlies. So even principalities and

  473. powers in the heavenly. are depending on you

  474. for revelation. This manifold wisdom is talking

  475. about revelation of God. Amen? The wisdom of

  476. God means the revelation of God. So, that means

  477. if they have been learning now, Which I'm coming

  478. back to this text. That means they also have

  479. been learning before now. That means the attitude

  480. of angels has been because of the attitude they

  481. see in men. Are we together? Amen. Amen. Look

  482. at 2 Kings. Let's go back to 2 Kings. Verse 1,

  483. 2 Kings 1, 2 Kings 1, verse 12. So Elijah answered

    2 Kings 1:12

  484. and said to them, if I am a man of God, let fire

  485. come down from heaven and consume you and your

  486. 50 men. And the fire of God came down from heaven

  487. and consumed him. and his 50. Those of us who

  488. are in the training center, we started discussing

  489. how the Old Testament was written. So probably

  490. you must have started to get what we mean by

  491. phenomenological languages. You understand? Now,

  492. look at verse 13. And he, again, he sent a third

  493. captain of the 50 with his 50. And the third

  494. captain, of fifty went up and came and fell on

  495. his knees before Elijah and pleaded with him

  496. and said to him, Man of God, please let my life

  497. and the life of these fifty servants of yours

  498. be precious in your sight. I don't think the

  499. king understood what this man came to do. Because

  500. the king sent him to go and grab Elijah. When

  501. he saw what happened to the other one, he started

  502. begging. Verse 14. Look, fire has come down from

  503. heaven and burned up the first two captains of

  504. the fifties with their fifties. If you have been

  505. in the cell meeting, you know that once we say

  506. heaven in the sun does not mean where God dwells.

  507. Because you know, once you say heaven, Many people's

  508. mind goes to, but in heaven, we have principalities

  509. and powers. You do understand what I'm saying?

  510. Are we together? So heaven means from the immaterial.

  511. Amen? But let my life now be precious in your

  512. sight. Verse 15, And the angel of the Lord said

  513. to Elijah, Go down with him. Do not be afraid

  514. of him. So he arose and went down with him to

  515. the king. Now, when you read Olympia, attention,

  516. you would think it's only Elijah that is there.

  517. But who did you see another being there? The

  518. angel of God. So note in verse 15, the angel

  519. of the Lord said to Elijah, so an angels, you

  520. remember when we were making comparison between

  521. the two mountains. One that represents the law.

  522. What did you see on the mountain that represents

  523. the law? Fire, smoke, darkness. Did you hear

  524. that? Yes. So when Elijah was doing this, remember

  525. Jesus also, because of the discussion and the

  526. event that happened with the disciples, we understood

  527. clearly that fire never came from God. Understand?

  528. So, behind the scene, the angel was responsible

  529. for bringing down the fire and killing the people.

  530. How did the angel get involved again? How did

  531. the angel get involved? Elijah said, if I be

  532. a man of God, let fire come down. Understand?

  533. Let fire come down and consume these 50. When

  534. God created angels, we know that the intent of

  535. God is revealed more vividly by the revelation

  536. of Jesus. But when God created angels, it was

  537. actually to serve man. You understand what I'm

  538. saying? So, Whatever was the attitude of men,

  539. their lack of understanding of who God is also

  540. affected the attitudes and the actions of angels.

  541. As I said last Sunday, it's not just angels.

  542. Have you not seen men that are believers act

  543. as if they were unbelievers? What's the difference?

  544. Knowledge gap. The more they know about the God

  545. and the spirit they carry, the more they behave

  546. well according to their identity. Are we together?

  547. So, again, by the time you read Luke chapter

    Luke 19 chapter mention

  548. 19, which I said the events that happened, Jesus'

  549. rebuke from verse 51 to 56, you will see the

  550. events that happened. Because the disciples wanted

  551. to replicate what Elijah did. But Elijah told

  552. them, you do not, I mean, Jesus said, you do

  553. not know what manner of spirit you are. Which

  554. means that that spirit that did that to Elijah

  555. is not the same as the spirit of God. So, Jesus,

  556. we have seen a change. What I'm trying to say

  557. is that when you read where we read in this Ephesians

  558. 3 .10, that means the attitudes we are responsible,

  559. the church, to reveal to the principalities who

  560. God is and they will behave well. You know, when

  561. we are talking about heaven, and I remember that

  562. time when we were looking at the issue of heaven.

  563. You understand? Many people said, but the angel

  564. said, Huh? What did the angel say in Acts? He

  565. said, The way you see him go up, that's how you

  566. will do it. That's how you will come. That's

  567. how many people pick their doctrine from there.

  568. What did we say? Who are supposed to be the one

  569. authorized to give doctrine, to give revelation?

  570. Sons of God. Men. Men. So it is important. Again,

  571. do you remember also in Acts chapter 2? You understand?

    Acts 2 chapter mention

  572. Where we got the issue when people are saying

  573. tongues, speaking in tongues is of men. Like

  574. this is a language of men that you can speak

  575. in tongues and somebody can hear. Are we together?

  576. How did they come with that revelation? Is it

  577. revelation? Revelation. You understand? How did

  578. they arrive at that? Because they read Acts chapter

    Acts 2 chapter mention

  579. 2. Maybe because I'm finding somewhere too close.

  580. I don't want to move beyond this because we have

  581. other things. But this is the point. Go to Acts

    Acts 2 chapter mention

  582. chapter 2. I'm trying to lay a foundation to

  583. see that. You have to be careful where you pick

  584. the knowledge about the things of God and of

  585. God. Look at Acts chapter 2. You see, by the

    Acts 2 chapter mention

  586. time you read 4, and then you move and set verse

  587. 5. And there were dwellings in Jerusalem, Jews,

  588. devout men from every nation under heaven. And

  589. when this sound occurred, a multitude came together

  590. and were confused because everyone heard them

  591. speaking in his own language. This was... Luke

  592. reporting. Then they were amazed and marveled,

  593. saying to one another, Luke, are not all these

  594. who speak Galileans? Verse 8. How and how is

  595. it that we hear each in our own language? In

  596. which we were born. Did you see that? So, who

  597. said that we hear everyone in his own language?

  598. Oh, are you together with me? Are you not reading?

  599. Who said that statement? The people there. Who

  600. were not even born again at that time. But they

  601. are the ones that define the doctrine. about

  602. that when you speak in tongues, everybody's supposed

  603. to hear his own language. How did you know that?

  604. This is the only place that talks about that.

  605. And people pick it. Who said that we hear everyone

  606. in his own language? The people there. That was

  607. what they were reporting. And so a lot of people

  608. say that somebody's supposed to hear you and

  609. they interpret it. How did you know? Some people

  610. have even given testimony, sir, that they have

  611. gone to a place and they spoke in tongues and

  612. some people hear them in their own language.

  613. And then you neglected Peter himself. You understand

  614. what I'm saying? You neglected Paul who wrote

  615. a lot about it. If you read here, it was the

  616. people who said it where they are the one who

  617. said. How is it that we hear everyone in his

  618. own language? Now, because there's a lot that

  619. you don't know there. This where people, so the

  620. question I'm trying to ask is that, this where

  621. people without even the spirit, how could they

  622. have actually been able to give us a clarity

  623. on what that means? What I'm trying to say is

  624. that, There are people who spoke all kinds of

  625. things about the things of the Spirit, about

  626. the things of God. The question is that, who

  627. will you believe? Did you understand what I'm

  628. trying to say? So angels spoke. When we say angels,

  629. we don't say Sembe or we say Sembe. What we're

  630. trying to say is that you need to interrogate

  631. and understand. When Luke was to write about

  632. Jesus and about what he has done, began to do

  633. and teach, who did he go? Did he go to the bystanders

  634. around town and say, hey, I know you were there

  635. when Jesus was doing? What did he say? No. The

  636. Bible says he went to those who were ministers

  637. of the word. The word minister is not any kind

  638. of person. It's people who are authorized. And

  639. that is what we are saying. So as you study the

  640. word, for us to know greater things and to know

  641. the things Jesus did and the greater things,

  642. we have to be careful and study well. Who did

  643. what and by who? This is very important. Very,

  644. very crucial. Are we together? So many things

  645. happen. but the angels are depending on you to

  646. know the Lord. Tell your neighbor, the angels

  647. are depending on you to know the Lord. Hallelujah.

  648. Spirit's wings are also waiting for you to know

  649. the Lord. So, when Paul told Peter, and my sorry,

  650. when Paul told Timothy, take heed to yourself.

  651. First Timothy, 4 .16. Take it to yourself and

  652. to the doctrine. For in doing this, you will

  653. serve both yourself and to those who hear you.

  654. Please, you have to know the people included

  655. in those who hear you, include who? Include who?

  656. They are here hearing us. You understand what

  657. I'm saying? So the more you speak error, He will

  658. be confusing them too. What I'm trying to say

  659. is that don't look down on yourself. God has

  660. honored us and by his spirit and by his power

  661. and by his name, we are honored in him. We are

  662. honored in him. So as you go and as we continue

  663. studying to understand God, we know now that

  664. he revealed himself. Through the son. Are we

  665. together? He revealed himself through the son.

  666. And the son in us. Through him. That the apostles

  667. wrote revelation. This is the reason why if you

  668. read the Bible. You cannot ignore apostolic interpretation.

  669. Did you understand what I'm saying? Yes. And

  670. that's one of the biggest problems. That you

  671. cannot be a specialist of the Old Testament and

  672. then you are busy reading the Old Testament.

  673. To understand the Old, you have to bring it together.

  674. What the apostles taught. The passages you are

  675. saying you are reading, they have read it. How

  676. come nobody is saying what you are saying? You

  677. know what I'm saying? Yes. That was the only

  678. material they had. Time go, we have to complete

  679. the New Testament text now. Amen? Can you just

  680. pray? share this message with someone you care

  681. about. Until next time, stay blessed.
