  1. Welcome to NECF sermons. Each message here is

  2. designed to uplift and strengthen you in your

  3. walk with God. Don't miss out. Stay with us until

  4. the end for a rewarding experience. Let's dive

  5. right in. Or how we receive faith? Romans 10

    Romans 10:17

  6. verse 17. Romans 10 verse 17. So then faith comes

    Romans 10:17

  7. by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Faith

  8. comes by hearing and by hearing the word of God.

  9. And we asked a question last Sunday. We said

  10. which precise word of God do we hear to receive

  11. faith? And we noted importantly that in different

  12. dispensation, faith is received differently but

  13. fundamentally through the Word of God, through

  14. the Word of God. Hallelujah. So in Hebrews chapter

    Hebrews 1:1

  15. 1 verse 1, Hebrews chapter 1 verse 1 and verse

    Hebrews 1:1

  16. 2, in the Old Kingdom James says, God who at

  17. sundry times and in diverse manners, He spoke.

  18. He spoke in the time past to the fathers. He

  19. spoke to the fathers in the time past by the

  20. prophets. So this is how He spoke to them. You

  21. know, He spoke to them by the prophets. So the

  22. words that the prophets spoke to them were the

  23. word of God. The prophets were speaking as the

  24. mild piece of God. God was speaking through the

  25. prophets, exposing them to His word. So the words

  26. which the prophets were speaking Were the words

  27. of God verse 2 says hath in these last days in

  28. these last days Talking about our era Okay hath

  29. in these last days spoken unto us by his son

  30. Whom he had appointed heir of all things by whom

  31. all so he made the world hallelujah So we'll

  32. see that the method by which God to communicate

  33. faith to us in our own generation is by the Son.

  34. Okay? The method by which we receive faith is

  35. by the Son. In the time past, God spoke through

  36. the prophets and we established that what God

  37. spoke to them was a promise concerning the Son.

  38. All right? That the Word of God spoken to the

  39. fathers was the Word of God was a promise. And

  40. we see that the content or the central message

  41. of what God spoke to them in types and shadows,

  42. in different methods, in different analogies,

  43. in different methods was centrally concerning

  44. what He will do in the person of Jesus Christ.

  45. Hallelujah. So the expectation then Was for them

  46. to receive what God have said Just as for us

  47. we agree what God have said and we receive what

  48. God have said Okay, so for them it was a promise

  49. that God made and the expectation was for them

  50. to receive the word and then later on in Hebrews

  51. of the four Precisely verse one and two I think

  52. down we see where The writer will say that they

  53. didn't accept what God said They didn't align

  54. themselves with what God said but rather they

  55. They were in unbelief. All right God spoke and

  56. they didn't receive the word of God and they

  57. become unbelievers So there's another example

  58. that I want us to see in Numbers chapter 13 Numbers

Numbers 13 chapter mention Numbers 13 chapter mention

  59. chapter 13 from verse From verse 1 God's dealing

  60. with the children of Israel in Numbers chapter

    Numbers 13 chapter mention

  61. 13 From verse 1 to 3 let's see from verse 1 to

  62. 3 and the Lord spoke to Moses saying this is

  63. what God spoke to Moses Send men to spy out the

  64. land of Canaan Which I am giving to the children

  65. of Israel, so how will the people of Israel get

  66. the land of Canaan? How will they get the land

  67. of Canaan? By going to take the land God said

  68. that I am going to what I'm giving to the children

  69. of Israel Which means that God is the one giving

  70. in the land of Kenan. All right From each tribe

  71. of their fathers. You shall send a man everyone

  72. a leader among them So if they move into the

  73. land of Israel or into the land of Kenan, what

  74. are they doing? They are responding to what to

  75. what God have said So can we say that their action

  76. will be the action that is funded on faith? All

  77. right God said is going to give it to them. So

  78. when they move Their obedience of moving into

  79. the land will be the walk of faith, right? So

  80. send men to spy out the land of Canon verse 2

  81. again Which I am giving to the children of Israel

  82. from each tribe of their fathers You shall send

  83. a man everyone a leader among them verse 3 So

  84. mothers send them send them from will from the

  85. willingness of parent according to the command

  86. of the Lord All of the men of them men who were

  87. heads of the children of Israel jumped to verse

  88. 26 verse 26 verse 26 yes now they departed now

  89. they've gone to the land of kenna of kenna they've

  90. spied the land verse 26 the context of what is

  91. is that they've returned now they departed and

  92. came back to moses and eron all the congregation

  93. and all the congregation of each of children

  94. of israel in the wilderness of paran at kadesh

  95. they brought back words to them to all the congregation

  96. and showed them the fruits of the land Then they

  97. told him and said we went to the land where he

  98. sent us it truly flows with milk and honey and

  99. This is the fruit now milk and honey are figures

  100. of speech in the land of Kenan We cannot see

  101. milk flowing like water. So be very Wise as we

  102. read the scriptures, right? You know what figure

  103. of speech, ah? So nevertheless, the people who

  104. dwell in the land are what? Are strong. The cities

  105. are fortified and very large. Moreover, we saw

  106. the descendants of Anak there. The Amalakites

  107. dwell in the land of the south, the Hittites,

  108. the Jebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the

  109. mountains, and the Canaanites dwell by the sea

  110. and along the banks of the Jordan. Is it true?

  111. What they said? Is it a fact? Hmm? What they

  112. said concerning the land? Is it a land from where

  113. we will make our honey? Yes. Is it a fruitful

  114. land? Yes. Are there Amalakites there? Yes. Are

  115. there... Jubusites, right? Are there people on

  116. the land occupying the land? Yes. The Amalakites

  117. dwell in the land of the south, the Hittites,

  118. the Jubusites, and the Amorites dwell in the

  119. mountains, and the Canaanites dwell by the sea

  120. and along the banks of the Jordan. This is factual.

  121. Are we together? What have God said concerning

  122. that land? I will give it to you. All right?

  123. Then Caleb quieted the people because out of

  124. the spies sent out there were two we'll see later

  125. on. So one of the two that were unique from the

  126. remaining ten was Caleb. Then Caleb quieted the

  127. people before Moses and said let us go up at

  128. once and take possession for we are well able

  129. to overcome it. overcome what overcome all like

  130. is in the land the people that were there were

  131. able to overcome but the man who had grown up

  132. with him said we are not able to go up against

  133. the people for they are what they are stronger

  134. than what than we divergence of what of testimony

  135. okay one says we are able to take it another

  136. one say we are not able to take it okay so From

  137. the abundance of your heart Your mouth will speak

  138. All right, and they gave the children of Israel

  139. a bad word a battle port of the land Which they

  140. had spied out saying the land through which we

  141. have gone as spice is a land that devours its

  142. inhabitants and all the people whom we saw in

  143. it are men of great stature are men great statue

  144. all right so let's jump to chapter 14 and see

  145. how the story continues chapter 14 from verse

  146. 1 so all the congregation leader of their voice

  147. look at the look look look at the result of the

  148. report of the 10 the majority you know in our

  149. world today the majority carry the divorce right

  150. so the majority always have their say no the

  151. minority will have their say But the majority

  152. will have their their way. All right So all the

  153. congregation lives over their voices and cried

  154. and the people wept that night. Why why did they

  155. weep? Their weeping was because of what they

  156. heard Was because of what they heard All right.

  157. God said something Okay And there was a report

  158. they had and they were weeping because of the

  159. bad report they received And all the children

  160. of Israel complained. Look at the product of

  161. their unbelief, their weeping. They complained

  162. against Moses and Aaron and the whole congregation

  163. and said to them, if only we had died in where?

  164. In the land of Egypt. Now, I want you to understand

  165. where they are. All right? They've journeyed

  166. over years. They were just a few, I would say

  167. a few steps into the promised land. They are

  168. not far from the promised land. They've wondered

  169. through the journey through the wilderness all

  170. over these years and they are the point where

  171. the journey is to just enter and then possess

  172. And look at their complaint against Moses and

  173. Aaron and the whole congregation said to them

  174. if only we had died away in the land of Egypt

  175. or If only we had died in the wilderness Why

  176. has the Lord brought us now? They've moved from

  177. Moses to the Lord. Why has the Lord brought us

  178. to this land? to fall by the sword that our wives

  179. and children should become victims will it not

  180. be better for us to return to Egypt so they said

  181. to one another let us select a leader and return

  182. to Egypt then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces

  183. before all the assembly of the congregation of

  184. the children of Israel but Joshua the son of

  185. Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh who were among

  186. these those who have spied out the land, they

  187. tore their clothes, right? They tore their clothes

  188. and they spoke to all the congregation of the

  189. children of Israel saying, the land we pass through

  190. to spy out is an exceedingly good land. If the

  191. Lord delights in us, then he will bring us into

  192. the land, into this land and what? And give it

  193. to us, okay? and give it to us, a land which

  194. flows with milk and honey. Only do not rebel

  195. against the Lord, nor fear the people of the

  196. land, for they are our what? They are our what?

  197. What does faith see? Faith sees different from

  198. doubt, right? So, no fear the people of the land,

  199. for they are our bread. Their protection has

  200. departed from them. And the law is what is with

  201. us Do not fear them. So what is the inspiration

  202. of the testimony of Caleb and Joshua? The Lord

  203. what Lord have said, right? What God have said

  204. Okay, and all the congregation said To stone

  205. them with stones Now the glory of the Lord appeared

  206. in the tabernacle of meeting before all the children

  207. of Israel so they wanted to stun them because

  208. of the of their because of the statement of faith

  209. they made then the Lord said to Moses how long

  210. will these people reject me and how long will

  211. they not believe so what was what what were they

  212. expected to do to believe what God have said

  213. right to believe me with all the signs which

  214. I have performed among them they've seen the

  215. miraculous dealings of God all through the wilderness

  216. They've seen how God has preserved them. They've

  217. seen how God has made provision for them. They've

  218. seen how God has kept them They've seen how God

  219. has navigated them through difficulties in the

  220. wilderness even the experience they had in Egypt

  221. and We may be quick to bash them terribly for

  222. their own belief and that Could be our own disposition

  223. today All right We've seen how God have saved

  224. us in Christ. Okay, the salvation we've experienced

  225. We believe that we are saved by grace. We believe

  226. they were eternally saved We believe that we

  227. are preserved by God. We believe that to the

  228. autumn was we are able to be kept in the grace

  229. of God We've seen God's divine protection. We've

  230. seen God's divine provision. We've experienced

  231. the goodness of God in diverse ways But it seems

  232. as though What our eyes is seeing in the physical

  233. Has erased whatever testimony with experience

  234. of God has nullified the entirety of the goodness

  235. of God So the journey ahead of us right seems

  236. to be You know Overshadowing all that God has

  237. done for us. We forget the goodness of we forget

  238. the faithfulness of what we forget the preservation

  239. of God We forget all the things that God has

  240. done For 40 years these men have been eating

  241. without cooking. Manas was falling from heaven.

  242. The Bible says their clothes did not tear for

  243. those years. They've seen what has come out of

  244. rock. They've seen the cloud and all the miraculous

  245. things that God has done but yet their attention

  246. is grounded. on what on what they see in the

  247. fiscal then they they are they they trash aside

  248. or they push aside what God have said I will

  249. strike them this is what was saying with pestilence

  250. and dis inherit them and I will make of you a

  251. nation greater than greater and mightier than

  252. them and Moses said to the Lord then the Egyptians

  253. will hear it for by your mind you brought for

  254. by your mind you brought out you brought these

  255. people from among them and they will tell it

  256. to the inhabitants of this land they have heard

  257. that you you lord among these people that you

  258. lord are seen face to face and your cloud stands

  259. above them and you go before them in a pillar

  260. of cloud by day and a pillar of cloud fire by

  261. night now if you kill these people as one man

  262. then the nations which have heard of your theme

  263. will speak saying Because the Lord was not able

  264. to bring these people to the land which he swore

  265. to give them Therefore he what he killed them

  266. in the wilderness And now I pray let the power

  267. of the Lord be great just as you have spoken

  268. seen the Lord is what? It's long -suffering All

  269. right, the Lord is long -suffering and abandoning

  270. mercy. This is the character of God forgiving

  271. iniquity and transgression but he by no means

  272. clears the guilty visiting us the iniquity of

  273. the fathers on the children to the third and

  274. the fourth generations pardon the iniquity of

  275. these people I pray according to the greatness

  276. of your mercy just as you have forgiven these

  277. people from Egypt even until now then the law

  278. said I have pardoned according to your word but

  279. truly as I live All the earth shall be filled

  280. with what? All the earth shall be filled with

  281. what? With the glory of the Lord. Right? Even

  282. their unbelief cannot stop the earth from being

  283. filled with the glory of the Lord. Because all

  284. these men who have seen my glory and the signs

  285. which I did in Egypt and in the wilderness and

  286. have put me to the test. Now these 10 times,

  287. 10 times. And I've not heeded my voice. They

  288. were meant to heed the voice of God. They were

  289. meant to hear what God said and live in agreement

  290. what God said. They certainly shall not see the

  291. land of which I swore to their fathers. All right?

  292. Nor shall any of these who rejected me see it.

  293. So we'll read to the end, we'll discover that

  294. all these men that refuse to believe the word

  295. of God couldn't enter the promised land. couldn't

  296. enter the land of kenan okay they couldn't enter

  297. the kenan land and hebrews will speak of them

  298. thus in hebrew chapter 3 verse 14 hebrews 3 verse

    Hebrews 3:14

  299. 14 says for we have become partakers of christ

  300. talking about the believer here if we hold the

  301. beginning of our confidence steadfast to the

  302. end while it says today if you will hear this

  303. voice do not harden your heart as in the rebellion

  304. so when you hear what are you supposed to do

  305. not to harden your heart in unbelief right as

  306. in the rebel for who have you heard the people

  307. of easel haven't heard what do they hear they

  308. hear the word of god right but they rebel indeed

  309. was it not all who came out of egypt led by moses

  310. now with whom was he angry for 40 years was it

  311. not with those who sinned what was their sin

  312. they refused to accept what god said they refused

  313. to believe in what god said whose corpses fell

  314. in the wilderness and to whom did he swear that

  315. they will not enter his rest but to those who

  316. did not obey so entering the rest is a product

  317. of what of obeying okay so we see that they could

  318. not enter in because of what because of unbelief

  319. because of unbelief verse 20 okay move down to

  320. uh chapter 14 chapter 4 verse 6 right chapter

  321. 4 verse 6 4 verse 6 yes since therefore it remains

  322. that some must enter it and those to whom it

  323. was first preached did not enter because of what

  324. because of disobedience okay again he designates

  325. a certain day saying in david the prophecy of

  326. david today after such a long time as it has

  327. been said today if you will hear his voice do

  328. you know what Not having your heart. So when

  329. you hear the voice of the Lord when you hear

  330. the word of the Lord The expectation is that

  331. we want we accept the word of the Lord for if

  332. Joshua had given them rest Okay, then he will

  333. not after what have spoken of another day there

  334. remains therefore arrest For the people of God

  335. for he was enter his rest has himself also ceased

  336. from his works as God did from his from his let

  337. us therefore be diligent to enter that Rest less

  338. anyone fall according to the same example of

  339. disobedience. Hallelujah So the conduct of the

  340. Israelites was used as an example to teach us

  341. faith. Are we together? It's used by the writer

  342. here to talk about the faith Alright, the faith

  343. that we have is a function of what of obedience

  344. and obedience is to what God have said Hallelujah

  345. So the expectation is that God said something

  346. and what do we do? We receive what God said.

  347. We anchor our life on what God has said and we

  348. receive the faith of God. Hallelujah. So to the

  349. Israelites, we see that it is a promise that

  350. God made. Okay. And then they were expected to

  351. receive the promise of God. In the four gospels,

  352. faith was received in the four gospels. What

  353. did they believe in the four gospels? What did

  354. they believe? The people in the Old Testament

  355. in court believe in a promise. What about those

  356. in the four gospels? What do they believe? John

    John 1 chapter mention

  357. chapter 1. Let's read from verse 1. John chapter

    1 John 1 chapter mention

  358. 1. Now the reason why we have to go this way

  359. is to help us that next time when we begin to

  360. look at the works of faith, we will begin to

  361. live with, we will begin to work with understanding,

  362. all right? That we will not want to live as those

  363. who that are in the in the Old Testament because

  364. we are living in the reality of what God has

  365. done. Hallelujah. John chapter 1 from verse 1.

    John 1 chapter mention

  366. In the beginning was the word And the word was

  367. with God and the word was God He was in the beginning

  368. with God all things were made through him and

  369. without him nothing was made that was made in

  370. him was life and the life was the light of men

  371. and the light shines in a darkness and Darkness

  372. did not comprehend it. There was a man sent from

  373. God whose name was John this man came for a witness

  374. to bear witness of the light that all through

  375. him might believe he was not that light but was

  376. sent to bear witness of that light that was a

  377. true light which gives light to every man coming

  378. into the world he was in the world and the world

  379. was met through him and the world did not know

  380. him he came to his own and his own did not receive

  381. him verse 12 important look at verse 12 carefully

  382. but as many as received him okay as many as received

  383. him he gave the right to what to become the children

  384. of god to those who what who believe in his name

  385. stop there verse 12 stop at verse 12 he gave

  386. the right to become the sons of god hallelujah

  387. so to those who what who believe in his name

  388. Hold on to this verse 12. We'll come back to

  389. it later on. Give me verse 45. We're trying to

  390. look at what did they believe in the gospels.

  391. All right. Philip found Nathaniel and said to

  392. him, we have found him of whom Moses in the law.

  393. OK, Moses in the law and also the prophets wrote.

  394. What did they write about? What is the center

  395. of what they wrote about? Jesus of Nazareth,

  396. the son of who? Of Joseph. so what they are saying

  397. is that they found the messiah that was spoken

  398. of in the prophets okay spoken of by moses and

  399. the prophets so they believe that jesus is what

  400. is the promise all right they accepted jesus

  401. as what as the promised messiah very important

  402. john chapter 8 verse 30 john chapter 8 verse

    John 8:30 John 8:30

  403. 30 we see constantly in the in the gospels that

  404. they believe him all right what did they believe

  405. and he spoke these words look at the context

  406. he spoke these words and the bible says many

  407. believed in him okay many believed in jesus verse

  408. chapter 7 verse 31 chapter 7 verse 31 john chapter

    John 7:31

  409. 7 verse 31 and many of the people believe in

  410. him they believe who they believe in jesus and

  411. said when the christ comes he will do more science

  412. than this which this man has done so what do

  413. they believe about him if he is not the Christ

  414. so they are looking forward to a Christ what

  415. do they believe hmm okay let's move on to the

  416. 10 verse 42 John chapter 10 verse 42 and many

    John 10:42

  417. believed in him there he will go there he will

  418. teach okay and then he will do miracles and the

  419. Bible says they believe in him chapter 10 verse

  420. 37 chapter 10 verse 37 if i do not if i do if

  421. i do not Do the works of my father Do not believe

  422. me. Okay, that is to say by his works They are

  423. expected to believe that he is who God says he

  424. is I read together Matthew chapter 16 verse 15

    Matthew 16:15–16

  425. to 16. Let's see what the disciples themselves

  426. by the words of Peter Matthew 16 verse 15 to

    Matthew 16:15–16

  427. 16 Matthew 16 verse 15 to 16 So Jesus said are

    Matthew 16:15–16

  428. you know? 15 16 15 Matthew 16 15 Yes, he said

  429. to them, but who do you say? I am was 16 Simon

  430. Peter answered and said you are the Christ the

  431. Son of the Living God. All right, you are the

  432. Christ a Christ the Son of the Living God meaning

  433. that Jesus Christ is The Messiah has been promised.

  434. All right, if you go to the altar cement, there's

  435. a prophecy Concerning the Christ concerning the

  436. Messiah and what they believe about Jesus is

  437. that he is that promise So they were meant to

  438. believe that Jesus is the Son of God Okay, he

  439. is the anointed one. He is the one that has been

  440. promised The one that has been sent into the

  441. world. This was the only revelation of God's

  442. word. You could understand right this It's what

  443. they were meant to believe that Jesus is what

  444. God says he is that he is a promised All right,

  445. we'll see it even at the baptism. Okay, when

  446. a voice was heard God trying to affirm that this

  447. is the one All right, and even in his dealings

  448. with the disciples will see that He God tried

  449. to reveal Jesus as the promise who has been promised

  450. in the in the by the prophets and the prophets

  451. and the writings of Moses and the Psalms Hallelujah

  452. So in John chapter 1 verse 12, he says he gave

    John 1:12

  453. the right to become the sons of God. During the

  454. time of Jesus Christ, was any man a son of God?

  455. Was any man the son of God? Why? Why was no one

  456. a son of God? Somebody say is because it was

  457. blasphemous. It's true. But the only way by which

  458. a man can be a son of God, right, is by Jesus

  459. dying. Okay, without him dying, nobody could

  460. come into that, you know, with God. Are we together?

  461. So it was until The redemption walk is complete.

  462. No one could become the son of god But the john

    John 1:12

  463. chapter 1 verse 12 says as many as believe he

  464. gave him the right to become the sons of god

  465. Okay, so at that moment they believe him as what

  466. as the messiah They believe him as one the god

  467. have sent did they become the sons of god at

  468. that moment? They believe him. No, it was not

  469. possible All right. Jesus was the only begotten

  470. son as of that moment in the redemption We became

  471. what? We became sons of God. He no longer becomes

  472. the only begotten. We became the sons of God

  473. at the redemption after the redemptive work has

  474. been completed. So in the Gospels, we can say,

  475. we can say this, right? We can see by this evidence

  476. we have that a ticket was given, okay? But no

  477. one could become a son until the death and the

  478. resurrection of Jesus Christ. A promise was given,

  479. all right? But until the resurrection, no one

  480. will enter into that reality. Are we together?

  481. So the gospel in the in the gospels, the gospel

  482. message in the gospels was not a complete message.

  483. Do you agree? The gospel message in the gospels

  484. in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, when we read

  485. through Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, we see

  486. the gospel not complete. All right. Because until

  487. Jesus dies and rise again, no one could enter

  488. the reality of all the things that God as promised

  489. in Christ. So even if the gospel is preached

  490. and many believe, they could not enter the reality

  491. of what has been promised because Jesus has not

  492. died, Jesus has not made it available as of that

  493. moment. Are we together? So we are able to see

  494. that the gospel preached even by Jesus Christ

  495. could not make any man born again, all right?

  496. Could not make any man Any time the reality of

  497. those things away said were promised so we'll

  498. see that even in that context this man They preach

  499. the gospel they went out to preach in Luke chapter

    Luke 9:1–10

  500. 9 verse 1 to 10 We'll see that Jesus Christ gave

  501. them power and I went out alright and in that

  502. in that with that understanding that they had

  503. about who Jesus is With that I will say partial

  504. revelation Okay, we pass that partial revelation.

  505. We'll see that they went about exercising an

  506. authority casting our devils Alright healing

  507. the sick and they came back rejoicing even when

  508. they have not received in what in totality They

  509. promise the men of all who look through the book

  510. of Hebrews the Bible will say that they did wonders

  511. They they they were exceptional men. They did

  512. mighty works. All right by believing the Word

  513. of God What about us that have the reality in

  514. dwelling in us? We have the fullness and the

  515. complete package in his path the perfected work

  516. of God in us. We are able to do Greater works

  517. than even the work that they did because we have

  518. the fullness of the promise of God in us The

  519. work of God has been accomplished in us We are

  520. the beneficiary of the perfection of God's work

  521. So if they move a mile By virtue of our own ability

  522. God working in us All right, we should even to

  523. work more than what they did. Hallelujah. Now

  524. the disciples I said this I think the first day

  525. I started talking about this faith for greater

  526. works. I say that the disciples could not believe

  527. the resurrection. If we go through John chapter

    John 20 chapter mention

  528. 20, let's look at John chapter 20, the story

    John 20 chapter mention

  529. of the resurrection. John chapter 20 from verse

    John 20 chapter mention

  530. one. Now we're trying to differentiate, okay,

  531. how faith came in different dispensation. So

  532. now we will now anchor on where we are right

  533. now, how we receive faith and how we can go about

  534. preaching the faith. Hallelujah. John chapter

    John 20 chapter mention

  535. 20 from verse one. Now on the first day, of the

  536. week Mary Magdalene went to the tomb early while

  537. it was still dark and saw that the stones had

  538. been taken away from the tomb. Why did she go

  539. to the tomb? Did she go to check whether Jesus

  540. has rise again from the dead? They should go

  541. to check. Ah, let me go and check what Jesus

  542. said, whether it's true, whether he says after

  543. three days I will rise again from the dead. What

  544. took her to the grave is not faith. Are we together?

  545. What took her to the grave to see verse two?

  546. verse 2 then she ran and came to Simon Peter

  547. and to the other disciples whom Jesus loved and

  548. said to them they have taken away the Lord out

  549. of the tomb and we do not know where they laid

  550. him which means that she was expected to go and

  551. find the dead body of Jesus in the tomb so her

  552. report of the empty tomb is that someone have

  553. taken him away away together look at Peter verse

  554. 3 and Peter therefore went out and the other

  555. disciples were going to the tomb what were they

  556. going to confirm what she said whether it is

  557. true that Jesus has rose from the dead, whether

  558. it is true that his body has been stolen, was

  559. false. So they both ran together and the other

  560. disciples outrun Peter. This is John writing

  561. his own. He outrun Peter and came to the tomb

  562. first and he is stooping down and looking and

  563. saw the linen clothes lying there, yet he did

  564. not go in. then Simon Peter came following him

  565. and went into the tomb and he saw the linen clothes

  566. lying there and the handkerchief that had been

  567. around his head not lying with the linen clothes

  568. but folded together in a place by itself then

  569. the other disciples who came to the tomb first

  570. that's John went it also and saw and he believed

  571. what did he believe he believed that the body

  572. of Jesus was stolen because actually was because

  573. of what they heard from the the woman the Mary

  574. right so they went to see whether it is true

  575. so he now believed that the body was what was

  576. stolen for as yet they did not know this knowing

  577. is by revelation as yet they did not know the

  578. scripture that he must rise again from the dead

  579. have they been reading it was jesus telling them

  580. that he will rise again from the dead has he

  581. been teaching them from mal from genesis to madakai

  582. that him will die he will suffer he will die

  583. and then he will rise again so will this be that

  584. they did not know that scripture that jesus will

  585. rise again this knowledge is it just that they

  586. do not know this knowledge is a revelational

  587. knowledge hallelujah is a knowledge that comes

  588. from the point of faith and i said this the last

  589. time i said this can only happen by the spirit

  590. of god this can only happen by the spirit of

  591. god but mary stood outside by the tomb weeping

  592. and was As she wept, she stopped down and looked

  593. into the tomb and she saw two angels in white

  594. sitting, one at the end at the head and the other

  595. at the feet where the body of Jesus had lain.

  596. Then they said to her, woman, why are you weeping?

  597. And she said to them, because they have taken

  598. away the Lord and I do not know where they had

  599. laid him. Now, when she had said this, she turned

  600. around and saw Jesus standing there. and did

  601. not know it was Jesus. Jesus said to a woman,

  602. why are you weeping? Who are you seeking? She

  603. supposing to be the gardener, said to him, Sir,

  604. if you have carried him away, tell me where you

  605. had laid him and I will take him away. Jesus

  606. said to her, Mary, she turned and said to him,

  607. Rabboni, which is to say teacher. Jesus said

  608. to her, do not cling to me for I have not yet

  609. ascended to my father, but to my brethren. Go

  610. to my brethren brother and say to them i'm ascending

  611. to my father and your father And to my god and

  612. your god mary magdalene came and told the disciples

  613. That she had seen the lord and that he has spoken

  614. these things to her hallelujah Now let's move

  615. to verse 24 and see one superman verse 24 now

  616. thomas Call the twin one over 12 was not with

  617. them When Jesus came the order disciples therefore

  618. said to him we have seen the Lord So he said

  619. to them look at his reply to him unless I see

  620. in his hands The print of the nails and put my

  621. finger into the prints of the nails and put my

  622. hand into his side I will not what I will not

  623. believe and after eight days His disciples were

  624. again inside and Thomas with them said that it

  625. was with them Jesus came the door being shut

  626. and stood in the midst and said peace to you

  627. then he said to the Thomas reach your finger

  628. here and look at my hands and reach your hands

  629. here and put into my side do not be unbelieving

  630. but what but be but be believing right and Thomas

  631. answered and said to you my lord oh my god you

  632. said to him Thomas because you have seen me You

  633. have believed. All right Bless are those who

  634. have not seen and yet have a belief Bless are

  635. those who have not seen seen what the resurrection

  636. right and had what and I believe now this I Said

  637. the last time that this speaks of the church

  638. era reality. All right this believing Right has

  639. to do has to be by the Spirit of God You know

  640. the reason why you are able to believe that Jesus

  641. was from there is because of the Spirit of God

  642. Present this facts to another person that is

  643. all of the spirit. He will tell you you are funny

  644. What you're saying is gibberish Because to him

  645. is not given the ability to understand unless

  646. he choose he unless he he he's presented the

  647. gospel and then he what? He accepts it. Are we

  648. together? So Thomas demonstrated unbelief in

  649. the resurrection just as all the disciples and

  650. the apostles because As of that moment, no one

  651. was able to believe the resurrection because

  652. the resurrection reality can only be believed

  653. by the help of the Spirit of God. Hallelujah!

  654. So the disciples on their way to Emmaus will

  655. see in Luke 24 verse 26 to 35 will see them also,

    Luke 24:26–35

  656. you know, in their unbelief, speaking about all

  657. the things that has happened, and they were terribly

  658. in unbelief. They didn't believe the resurrection,

  659. alright? They believed Jesus. They were disciples

  660. of Jesus. They believed Him to be the Messiah,

  661. but the resurrection was something else. So it

  662. is not expected that they should believe in the

  663. resurrection. It is not expected at that moment.

  664. Because in fact they don't have the ability to

  665. believe all right understanding the revelation

  666. Concerning the resurrection can only be by the

  667. spirit of God Can only be bought by what by the

  668. spirit of God so by implication it takes feet

  669. of God It takes the feet of God that which can

  670. only be done by God through the spirit to believe

  671. the gospel that we preach today Okay, that is

  672. the implication. It means that it is only by

  673. the spirit of God Okay, it is only by the work

  674. of the spirit of God in the heart of a man to

  675. believe the gospel that we preach today. So no

  676. wonder Paul will say that when we came to you,

  677. we didn't come by what? Lovely speech, not by

  678. motivational speech, not by any form of wisdom

  679. of men, or by what? By the demonstration. The

  680. gospel is the demonstration of the Spirit of

  681. God. It's only by the Spirit of God that men

  682. can believe the gospel. So Jesus will say in

  683. John chapter 16, verse 7 to 15, when we read

    John 16:7–15

  684. through, He will promise them of the Spirit,

  685. right? The things I tell you, I go. It's better

  686. for you that I go. because if I don't go the

  687. spirit will not come but if I go the spirit will

  688. come and he will tell you all things right he

  689. will take the things I've been saying and what

  690. he will do he will reveal them unto you all right

  691. so we will see in the resurrection the work of

  692. the spirit convicting men that's his work that

  693. conviction is what what is that conviction giving

  694. proofs all right of the resurrection In the spirit,

  695. by the spirit we see the way by which a man believes.

  696. The spirit is the one walking in the heart of

  697. man to believe, giving the ability to believe.

  698. Hallelujah! I wish I have time, I could have

  699. gone further. But see, let me stop here. A man

  700. that is dead cannot believe. A man that is dead

  701. does not have the ability to believe. When you

  702. go to preach and you tell a man that is dead

  703. to believe, he does not have the ability to believe.

  704. Alright? God will ask the prophet Ezekiel, can

  705. these dry bones come to life? Can these dry bones

  706. come to life by itself? said lord only you know

  707. and then god said speak to the dry bones and

  708. then he spoke to it and then he came to life

  709. right until the world came there's no life all

  710. right so then we'll ask them what should the

  711. unbelief someone that have not had the ghost

  712. what is his responsibility his responsibility

  713. is to hear that is his responsibility because

  714. faith comes by what it comes by hearing okay

  715. it comes by hearing let me close with this let

  716. me close with this romance of the 10 because

  717. romance of the 10 verse 13 seems to say that

  718. faith that faith come by confession Romans 10

  719. Romans 10 yes that if you confess verse 9 if

  720. you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and

  721. believe in your heart that God has risen from

  722. the dead you will be saved for with their heart

  723. one believes unto righteousness and with a mouth

  724. confession is made unto salvation for the scripture

  725. says whoever believes on him will not be put

  726. to shame for There is no distinction between

  727. the jew and the greek for the same lord over

  728. all is rich to all who call upon him verse 13

  729. And verse 9 verse 13 numbers and look at them

  730. clearly They seem to speak that what says for

  731. whoever calls on the name of the lord shall be

  732. safe And we think that by calling the name of

  733. the lord then the man will be safe What does

  734. it mean? Can a man call the name of the lord

  735. and be safe? Look at the next verse how then

  736. can Can they call on Him whom they have not believed?

  737. How can they call on Him who have not believed?

  738. Which means that for them to call, they must

  739. believe, all right? You can't call on to someone

  740. you've not believed, isn't it? So for them to

  741. call on to someone, they must first of all believe.

  742. How can they believe? Let's look at the next

  743. verse. So how shall they believe in whom they

  744. have not heard? So for them to believe, they

  745. must hear, all right? They must hear. Okay, and

  746. how shall they hear without a preacher and how

  747. shall they preach unless they are sent as is

  748. written How beautiful are the feet of those who

  749. preach the gospel of peace who bring glad tidings

  750. of good things? But they have not all obeyed

  751. the gospel for isaiah says lord who has believed

  752. our report verse 17 critically So then faith

  753. comes by hearing and hearing by the word of god.

  754. Hallelujah So a man received faith by hearing

  755. You can't go to an unbeliever and tell him to

  756. speak of something that he has not heard and

  757. he has not accepted. Hallelujah. So to us, faith

  758. comes by the word of God. Faith is founded and

  759. faith is is within the boundary of the word of

  760. God. Outside the word of God, there is no faith

  761. of God. So when the word of God is spoken, a

  762. man received the word and the spirit produces

  763. faith in him and is able to believe Jesus is

  764. able to believe God. so our responsibility is

  765. to go and speak speak the word of God to preach

  766. the word of God that they might hear the word

  767. of God just want to just thank God for thus far

  768. the understanding we've received in the world

  769. that is all about God and what he has done in

  770. us it is by his spirit that is quickening us

  771. that's quickening us and is still strengthening

  772. us we appreciate you being here today we hope

  773. you cry this word with you throughout your week
