  1. Welcome to NECF sermons. Each message here is

  2. designed to uplift and strengthen you in your

  3. walk with God. Don't miss out, stay with us until

  4. the end for a rewarding experience. Let's dive

  5. right in. to encourage us in God's Word, a trust

  6. will be strengthened, will be edified this morning

  7. as the teaching or the Word of God comes. Now,

  8. the title of this teaching, right, is actually

  9. Faith for Evangelism. Okay, so that's the title

  10. of the teaching, right? Faith for Evangelism,

  11. right? Faith for Evangelism. We're talking about

  12. faith And we've seen a series of teachings on

  13. faith. And this is just going to build on that

  14. and around that. It's going to build on it and

  15. around that. And I believe that it's going to

  16. strengthen us very well for the work of ministry.

  17. Now, to do greater works, we have been taught

  18. that we have to work in faith, right? We have

  19. to exercise faith. Greater works, they are done

  20. in faith and one of the greater works that Jesus

  21. said would do is the preaching of the gospel

  22. right the preaching of the gospel is one of those

  23. greater works that the believer would do right

  24. that the believer will do after the resurrection

  25. of Christ but most often what happens is that

  26. we start in faith right we start let's say When

  27. we believe, when we come to the knowledge of

  28. Christ and we receive the Spirit, we receive

  29. the Spirit by faith. A salvation is by faith.

  30. We're going to see all of that across the teaching.

  31. But what happens is that in the work of it, in

  32. the manifestation of the things we need to do

  33. as believers, fear, anxiety, worries do set in.

  34. Right, so you find yourself giving expression

  35. and you're working in faith in certain areas

  36. and in other areas You are not working in faiths.

  37. You're working in anxiety worry and you are thinking

  38. a whole lot So the first thing we must understand

  39. is that this walk or this life started by faiths

  40. It's continuous also by faiths Okay, so the believers

  41. live the Christian faiths the Christian life

  42. Started by faith and it continues by faith It

  43. continues by faith. So it therefore means That

  44. at every interval every time and season we must

  45. check ourselves, right? to ensure That we are

  46. working in faith Right. We must check ourselves

  47. to ensure that we are working in faith So and

  48. that would mean that we must check in every aspects

  49. of our work in every aspect of our work In every

  50. aspect of our work in the manifestation of the

  51. things of the spirits, right? When we stop my

  52. investment we stop giving expression to the things

  53. of the spirit Sometimes you need to check easy

  54. that I'm stopping to believe it. In fact When

  55. you don't walk in it give expression to things

  56. of spring for a long time rights Your fix can

  57. be weakened That is why in this church we regularly

  58. say let's walk in the things. Let's give expression

  59. to it You know, you can begin to doubt it Right.

  60. Let's say for a long period of time we say people,

  61. you know We don't give expression to the things

  62. of spirit and all of a sudden we just come up

  63. one day and you've not been doing it in your

  64. house in your corners There is a possibility

  65. that you begin to rethink it You begin to rethink

  66. that which you have received Because you have

  67. not been exercising so the walk is by faith the

  68. manifestation of things of spirit is by faith

  69. Evangelism is by faith as well every part of

  70. this walk is by faith So we want to understand

  71. the faith to go you know the faith to go which

  72. is to go for evangelism and The faith of the

  73. people to receive the word to receive the word

  74. so the first thing we're going to examine is

  75. to see the word Believe how is exercised right

  76. in the book of John, right? We just see two two

  77. areas where it is exercise in the book of John

  78. the reason is because The faith for greater works

  79. Right is the faith upon what Christ has done

  80. and fulfilled Do we get it? Believe in me the

  81. Christ was saying in John chapter 14 is upon

    John 14 chapter mention

  82. that which he will do Right so what we see the

  83. same word believe used in other parts of John

  84. and that really does have implication It really

  85. does have implication because it affects You

  86. know the people who? Had those beliefs so the

  87. first thing we should go in to check in is To

  88. write down believing Jesus as the Messiah the

  89. Incarnate Messiah I think you can put the word

  90. believing Jesus as the Incarnate Messiah intentionally

  91. framed it that way One of the things we will

  92. observe across the book of John is that there

  93. are people who actually believe Jesus. They believe

  94. him as the one God said would come. Right? But

  95. does that kind of faith produce greater works?

  96. The answer is no. Right? Let's see what kind

  97. of action Such kind of believing in Jesus as

  98. the Incarnate Messiah such kind of actions or

  99. such kind of exercise of faith What does it produce

  100. in those people right in those people? That's

  101. actually believe in him as the Incarnate Messiah

  102. Only now John chapter 4 verse 21 to 26 John chapter

John 4:21–26 John 4 chapter mention

  103. 4 John chapter 4 verse 21 26 Jesus said unto

    John 4:21

  104. a woman believe me the hour comments When ye

  105. shall neither in this mountain nor in Jerusalem,

  106. nor yet at Jerusalem worship the Father, ye worship

  107. ye know not, ye know not what. We know what we

  108. worship for salvation is of the Jews, but it

  109. are cometh, and now is when. The true worshippers

  110. shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth.

  111. For the Father seeketh such to worship him, God

  112. the Spirit, and they that worship him must worship

  113. him in spirit and in truth. And the woman said

  114. unto him, I know that the Messiah cometh, which

  115. is called Christ. When he comes, he will tell

  116. us all things. And verse 26 says, Jesus said

  117. unto her, I that speak unto thee, I am he. I'm

  118. he. Right? So he said, I'm he. So meaning that

  119. Jesus told her that I'm the Messiah you have

  120. been told about. I'm the Messiah that was prophesied.

  121. and that was to come now verse 28 can you just

  122. skip to verse 28 the woman then left at water

  123. port and went away into the city and said to

  124. the man to the men come see a man who told me

  125. all things that ever i did is this not is not

  126. this the christ Then they went out of the city

  127. and came unto him in the meanwhile the disciples

  128. prayed saying master eats Now you can skip and

  129. move to verse 39 And many of the Samaritans of

  130. that city believed on him for the saying of the

  131. woman which testified Which told me all that

  132. ever I did And so when the Samaritans will come

  133. unto him, they besought him that he would tarry

  134. with them, and he abode there two days. And many

  135. more believed because of what? Of its own word.

  136. So many more believe because of the word of Christ.

  137. Many more believe. Now, what are they believing

  138. in this context is that he is the Messiah. Right?

  139. It's the Messiah that is to come. And this believing

  140. does not reflect believing in the death, burial

  141. and resurrection of Jesus. Do we get it? But

  142. they believe that this Messiah is the one that

  143. God has promised to come. So we see that. Now

  144. this affects their actions in many ways and we

  145. can see other people who had the same form of

  146. belief. Now let's just read a little bit verse

  147. 42 and said unto the woman, Now we believe not

  148. because of thy saying but we have heard in ourselves

  149. Know that this is indeed the Christ the Savior

  150. of the world now after two days of the pilot

  151. dance and went into Galilee So we still believe

  152. in the context of these right believing Jesus

  153. as the one who is to come good Let's go to Let's

  154. go to verse 48 of the same John chapter 4 verse

    John 4:48

  155. 48 then Jesus said unto him except yes see signs

  156. and wonders Ye will not believe. Right? Ye will

  157. not believe. Of course, this is also referring

  158. to believing in Jesus based on Him as the Messiah

  159. and the one they can save because this is in

  160. the context of the healing of the official Son.

  161. Right? So if we read from verse 46, it says,

  162. So Jesus came again into Canaan of Galilee where

  163. He made the water wine. And there was a certain

  164. noble man whose son was sick at Capernaum. And

  165. when he heard that Jesus was coming out of Judea

  166. into Galilee, he went unto him and besought him

  167. that it would come. It would come down and heal

  168. his son, for he was at the point of death. He

  169. was at the point of death. And then Jesus said

  170. unto him, Except ye see signs and wonders, ye

  171. will not believe. So it means that people believe

  172. Jesus also. for the miraculous, right? People

  173. worked in believing Jesus as someone who can

  174. do the miraculous and that by the signs and wonders

  175. they will believe that he is the Messiah. Right?

  176. So people already doubted this. Now let's go

  177. to John chapter 5. John chapter 5 verse 38 to

    John 5 chapter mention

  178. 37. Let's go again. Just the next page. I receive

  179. not honor from men, but I know that ye have not

  180. the love of God in you, and I come in my Father's

  181. name, And ye receive me not, if another shall

  182. come in his own name, him ye shall receive, ye

  183. will receive. How can ye believe which receive

  184. honor of another, and seek not the honor that

  185. cometh from God only? Do not think that I will

  186. accuse you to the Father that is one who accuseth

  187. you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. For had ye

  188. believed Moses, ye would have believed me, for

  189. he wrote of me. But if ye believe not, in his

  190. writings how shall you believe my words so also

  191. jesus also does the same thing it does this pattern

  192. of pointing to himself right as the messiah that

  193. was promised that he might point them to the

  194. resurrection exactly the same pattern with the

  195. disciples jesus points himself so There is no

  196. disconnection between the Old Testament and what

  197. we call the New Testament. So when Jesus is teaching

  198. people in certain contexts where they don't believe

  199. he's the Messiah, he tries to connect first.

  200. So what do they know? You believe Moses, he testifies

  201. of me. You believe the scriptures, he testifies

  202. of me. What does Moses and the scripture say?

  203. The scripture and Moses refer to the Messiah

  204. that would come. Right? Then when Jesus fathers

  205. with them, then he explains further about the

  206. resurrection and life. So he does not remove

  207. the incarnation from his explanation to them

  208. as well. He also acknowledges that because he

  209. acknowledges the Saint Moses and the scriptures

  210. wrote of me. Now the problem is that the people

  211. stay here in this explanation alone. That becomes

  212. the problem which the disciples also experience

  213. a similar thing until Luke chapter 24. So We

    Luke 24 chapter mention

  214. see believing in Him as the Messiah to come.

  215. John 6 verse 14 to 15. John chapter 6 verse 14.

    John 6:14–15 John 6:14

  216. Now let's see the implication of when people

  217. stay on believing that He just came as the Messiah.

  218. Let's see the implication of that. When they

  219. just believe, oh, this is the Messiah, and they

  220. don't follow up with a word, with His words rather.

  221. John 15 verse 14 says, then those men, When they

    John 15:14

  222. had seen the miracle that he did so by signs

  223. and wonders they believe is the Messiah By signs

  224. and wonders they believe is Messiah When those

  225. men when they had seen the miracles that Jesus

  226. did this Jesus said oh, sorry, excuse me the

  227. miracle that Jesus did said this is of a truth

  228. that the prophet that should come into the world

  229. when Jesus therefore perceived that they would

  230. come and take him by force to make him a king,

  231. he departed again onto a mountain himself alone.

  232. See? When people stay in that part of the revelation

  233. alone, right, it's incomplete. They can function

  234. in a way of trying to make Jesus a king. So,

  235. there's nobody who stays in this part, believing

  236. Jesus as the incarnate Alone Right can come into

  237. greater walks So you can stay here and come into

  238. greater rather you walk by making him a king

  239. or making him someone who has something To offer

  240. you in the natural All right. Let's go to verse

  241. 28 and 36 of the same John 6 Then they said unto

  242. him what shall we do that we might walk the works

  243. of God and Jesus said unto them this is the work

  244. of God that ye believe in him that he hath sent

  245. to believe in him that he hath sent same verse

  246. same chapter verse 68 verse 68 I think we can

  247. we can stay in verse 28 sorry go back to verse

  248. 28 and we can read a little bit downwards How

  249. much more can men do, right, when they believe

  250. that Jesus is the incarnate? And as some people

  251. will say, He is a prophet. How much more can

  252. men do? Very little or nothing, right? So when

  253. we go for evangelism and we meet people who say,

  254. well, I believe He's a prophet. I believe He's

  255. incarnate. I believe He existed. The question

  256. is, can they work in greater works? The answer

  257. is no, right? The answer is no. The Incarnate

  258. is the Incarnation explaining only the Incarnation

  259. does not bring a man into greater works. And

  260. that is why you will see how they function when

  261. they only held on to that message, right? So

  262. you have to take it all together. We'll proceed.

  263. Jesus said unto them, this is the work of God,

  264. that ye believe on him, who mere saints. They

  265. said, wherefore unto him? What signs showest

  266. thou that we may see and believe thee? And does

  267. thou walk? And those that walk, our Father did

  268. eat manna in the desert, as it is written, He

  269. gave them bread from heaven to eat. Then Jesus

  270. said unto him, Verily, verily I say unto you,

  271. Moses gave you not the bread from heaven, but

  272. my Father gave it to you, the true bread from

  273. heaven. For the bread of God is he which cometh

  274. now from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.

  275. And he said unto him, Lord, evermore give us

  276. this bread. And Jesus said unto them, I am the

  277. bread of life, he that cometh to me shall never

  278. hunger, and he that believeth on me shall never

  279. taste. But I said unto you, that ye also have

  280. seen me, and believe not." They have seen him

  281. and believe not. They've seen him, they have

  282. preached to them, and they believe not. So they

  283. saw him, the Incarnate Jesus, they believe not.

  284. They were asking for signs that they might believe

  285. not. These kind of people barely could do much

  286. when it comes to the work of ministry. verse

  287. 9 and Simon Peter said unto him same chapter

  288. 60 John 6 68 to 69 the Simon Peter answered him

  289. Lord to whom shall we go thou art the word of

  290. eternal life and we believe and are sure that

  291. thou art the Christ the son of the living good

  292. so the disciples as well join from here the Simon

  293. Peter believe Jesus as the Messiah That is to

  294. come Messiah that is to come The Messiah that

  295. is to come now we knew the trajectory of Peter

  296. after this period and How they also never believed

  297. until Jesus appeared to them so we can say that

  298. they also believed in the incarnation But they

  299. could not also do much They couldn't come into

  300. greater works until the revelation of the death,

  301. burial, and resurrection of Christ was made known

  302. to them. John 9 verse 14 to 25 John 9 verse 17

    John 9:14–25 John 9:17–25

  303. to 25 and he had been blind and he that had been

  304. blind and received his sight until they called

  305. the parent of him that had received his sight

  306. and they asked them saying is this your son as

  307. whom you say was blind how does he now see so

  308. basically they didn't believe that this man was

  309. blind in the first place so it's not the first

  310. time that people will say miracles are not real

  311. right in this context we see people saying well

  312. this is not real Right. In fact, he was not blind

  313. and they called the parents for a testimony and

  314. we see them walking in unbelief as regards to

  315. not the death by our resurrection of Christ but

  316. their unbelief threats which we must know. The

  317. Pharisees and the Sadducees' unbelief threats

  318. is that they didn't believe that I was the Messiah.

  319. Like that is the foundational problem that they

  320. did have. So the Pharisees and Sadducees in their

  321. communication with Jesus you observe that their

  322. first problem was that they never believed that

  323. he was the Messiah that is come from above so

  324. this affected their ability to receive the resurrection

  325. at the end but we had we also had people who

  326. never believed Jesus incarnation but after resurrection

  327. they understood right they understood so you

  328. can just add this other scripture John 10 25

  329. to 38. John 10 25 to 38. So most of them believe

  330. him as the anointed one, which the one God has

  331. anointed, right? They believe him that he could

  332. heal the sick for them. They believe him that

  333. he could heal them when they are sick. Others

  334. believe him regarding miracles and they receive

  335. and they raise many people to dead. To raise

  336. many people to life, right? Raise the dead. Now

  337. the question is to what extent can this Take

  338. them to function in God's plan on it. Very limited.

  339. Very limited. They can't function. Man cannot

  340. function with the knowledge of the incarnation

  341. of Christ alone. You cannot function. Now let's

  342. see, the next part is, you can write, believe

  343. in Jesus as the resurrected. Believe in Jesus

  344. as the resurrected Christ. Believe in Jesus as

  345. the rectorated Christ. The same way Jesus acknowledged

  346. and said, well, this is He. I am He that the

  347. scripture testifies of. He also said, yes, I

  348. am He that would die and resurrect. I am He that

  349. can give eternal life. I am He who is the resurrection

  350. and the dead. Right? The resurrection and the

  351. life. Right? He raised the dead. Raising Lazarus

  352. at that point. Now, so let's check the scriptures.

  353. John chapter 1 verse 12. John chapter 1 verse

    John 1:12 John 1:12

  354. 12. You can write it down. But as many as receive

  355. him, to them gave he power to become the sons

  356. of God. Even to them that believe on his name.

  357. Now this is from John chapter 1 and they are

    John 1 chapter mention

  358. already talking about believe on his name. Trust

  359. me on that scripture. So he gave them power to

  360. become the sons of God. Now the believe here

  361. is not referring to the incarnation just the

  362. incarnation but the reputation of Christ the

  363. name the reputation of Christ at Resurrection

  364. because only at resurrection could men Become

  365. sons of God Okay, only at resurrection could

  366. make so this one is referring to the sons of

  367. God to them that believe on his name To them

  368. that believe on his name. This is the context

  369. of the sons of God and the belief that is exercised

  370. So we know John already had a revelation and

  371. putting it down in this sense simply means he

  372. goes back and forth between what he has already

  373. known and current events that are taking place

  374. in his time. Now John 2 verse 22, John 2 verse

    John 2:22 John 2:22

  375. 22, again, which Jesus had said. Now, what was

  376. he talking about? If you read the context of

  377. it, it's talking about the destruction of the

  378. temple and to raise it in three days. So if you

  379. read verse 19, it says Jesus answered unto them.

  380. Verse 19. Destroy this temple and in three days

  381. I will raise it up. Talking about his resurrection,

  382. his death, there is a resurrection in this place.

  383. And trying to say they believed that after it

  384. was risen, right? They believed that after it

  385. was risen. So we see acknowledgement of the believer

  386. using of the word belief to refer to what happened

  387. after resurrection John chapter 3 verse 15 to

    John 3:15–16

  388. 16 John chapter 3 verse 15 to 16 Now Jesus himself

    John 3:15–16

  389. speaking said that whosoever believe in him should

  390. not perish but have eternal life For God so loved

  391. the world that he gave his only begotten son

  392. that whosoever believed in him should not perish

  393. but have everlasting life so jesus also while

  394. he acknowledged that he is the messiah he acknowledged

  395. also that is the one that will give eternal life

  396. is the one that will give eternal life is the

  397. one that will give eternal life verse 18 of that

  398. same chapter 3 of the only begotten Son of God,

  399. right? And this is a condemnation that the light

  400. is coming to the world and men love darkness

  401. rather than light because of their evil deeds.

  402. So here again, it's saying that life comes from

  403. Christ, right? Believe in Him, believe in Christ,

  404. life comes from Christ. Now, verse 36, verse

  405. 36, just an addition, it said, He that believeth

  406. on the Son hath everlasting life. And he that

  407. believeth not the Son shall not see life, but

  408. the word of God abideth on him." So believe it

  409. on the Son, have everlasting life. This is expressing

  410. faith in Christ as the resurrected Messiah, or

  411. the one that is to resurrect and give eternal

  412. life. John 6 verse 26, 29, giving us all the

    John 6:26

  413. scriptures because we would come to point now

  414. John 6 verse 29 and you just said unto them this

    John 6:29

  415. is the work of God that ye believe on him whom

  416. he has sent verse 35 to 40 35 to 40 I just send

  417. on unto them I am the bread of life that cometh

  418. he that cometh to me shall never hunger and he

  419. that believeth in me shall never taste let's

  420. add another scripture Let's add another scripture

  421. Okay, John still John or let's see John 7 John

    John 7:37

  422. 7 verse 37 John 7 verse 37 Is that in the last

    John 7:37

  423. day the great day of the feast Jesus stood and

  424. cried saying If any man test, let him come unto

  425. me and drink. He that believeth on me, as the

  426. scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow

  427. rivers of living water. Right? Out of his belly

  428. shall flow rivers of living water. From verse

  429. 1 of chapter 7 tells us what is the great day

  430. and what the last day refers to. So if we go

  431. to verse 1 of chapter 7. Let's go to verse 1

  432. of chapter 7. Verse 1 of chapter 7 is that after

  433. these things Jesus walked in Galilee for he would

  434. Not walk in Jewry because the Jews sought to

  435. kill him now the Jews fists of the tabernacles

  436. was at hand his brethren therefore unto him then

  437. The parts hence and go into Judea that thy disciples

  438. also may see the work that thou doest For there

  439. is no man that doeth anything in secret and he

  440. himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do

  441. these things, show thyself to the world." Now

  442. the first thing we see there in verse 2 is that

  443. it's in the feast of the tabernacle. Okay, so

  444. the last day of the feast is what is happening

  445. in verse 37. The last day of the feast that we

  446. find in verse 2, right, is what is happening

  447. in verse 37. So it's the last day of the feast

  448. and Jesus came to proclaim. So the feast of the

  449. tabernacle is a feast of the Jews. Of course,

  450. this is supposed to communicate Christ to them.

  451. So the feast of the tabernacle is supposed to

  452. communicate Christ to them. So on the last day

  453. of the feast, Jesus came out and said that, He

  454. that believeth on me, as the scripture says,

  455. out of his belly shall flow rivers of living

  456. water. Now this is referring to, I think we should

  457. just read it, verse 39, which gives the clear

  458. explanation. But they spake he of the spirits

  459. Which day that believe on him should receive?

  460. For the Holy Ghost was not yet given because

  461. Jesus was not yet glorified So it's talking about

  462. the spirit that Jesus would give again We can

  463. say that during the last day of the face of this

  464. Monarch or Jesus said I will give eternal life

  465. and It is not an incarnation, but in the resurrection

  466. Do we get it? It's not in the incarnation but

  467. in the resurrection. It's not in the incarnation

  468. but in the resurrection Now we can go to John

  469. again still on John John 14 verse 1. I think

    John 14:1

  470. we'll just Move in that direction. There are

  471. other scriptures. We can write them down John

    John 14:1–3

  472. 14 verse 1 to 3 John 14 verse 1 to 3 John 11

    John 14:1–3 John 11:23–27

  473. verse 23 to 27 we can read those ones John 14

    John 14:1–3

  474. verse 1 to 3 which we're going to come back to

  475. John 4 John 11 verse 23 to 27 John 13 verse 36

    John 11:23–27 John 13:36

  476. John 13 verse 36 Now upon this type of believing

    John 13:36

  477. it is upon these that a man can do greater works

  478. when the spirit is given Men can do greater works.

  479. When the spirit is given, men can do greater

  480. works. When men believe and the spirit is given

  481. and they receive the spirit, they can do greater

  482. works. So let's add another scripture, Mark 16.

  483. You cannot mark 16 there because it's the same

  484. thing. This one clearly right at the end, Jesus

  485. instructing them, Mark 16 verse 15, and said

    Mark 16:15

  486. unto them, Go ye into the world, and preach the

  487. gospel to every creature. He that believeth is

  488. baptized and shall be saved. He that believeth

  489. and is baptized shall be saved. But he that believeth

  490. not shall be them. Again, this context is talking

  491. about what Jesus had done. Of course, this is

  492. after resurrection, reiterating, he that will

  493. believe in what Christ has done. So John 14,

  494. which is our case scripture for the year. Right,

  495. let's go to John 14 now and just explain a few

  496. things. Then we'll progress from there. John,

    John 14 chapter mention

  497. chapter 14. So let not your heart be troubled,

  498. yet believe in me, yet believe in God, believe

  499. also in me. In my father's house are many mansions,

  500. and if it were not so, I would not have told

  501. you. I go to prepare a place for you and if I

  502. go and prepare a place for you I'll come again

  503. and receive you unto myself and that where I

  504. am there ye may also be now the context of this

  505. believing is also referring to what Jesus will

  506. do after resurrection now all along they've believed

  507. Jesus okay the disciples have believed Jesus

  508. they believe that he is the Messiah right that

  509. is to come to the world but there's a path that

  510. they must understand, they must comprehend, and

  511. believe that is also that Christ would die, resurrect,

  512. and come to give them eternal life. Right? That

  513. part is the part that has been emphasized here.

  514. And also in verse 12, which is our key scripture,

  515. So I do because I go to my father. So also again

  516. talking about what Jesus would do After resurrection,

  517. so when you believe in that you have eternal

  518. life and you can do greater works Right and you

  519. can do greater works now Let me highlight three

  520. categories of people from all those readings

  521. all those readings as you go for evangelism Right

  522. three categories of people that you will meet

  523. right three categories of people that would tend

  524. to look as if they exercised faith in Jesus.

  525. Okay? Three, uh, three, I'm sorry, four. I said

  526. three, but I said four. We can make it four.

  527. Yes, four. Four categories of people you'll meet

  528. as you go out. You'll meet people who believe

  529. in Jesus, His incarnation, His dead barrier and

  530. resurrection. they believe that they have a spirit

  531. so you'll meet people who believe in Jesus as

  532. the Messiah that God prophesied by the scriptures

  533. and they did not stop there they also believe

  534. that he died he was buried and erected and also

  535. that they have his life you'll meet those people

  536. you will meet this kind of people and these people

  537. are believers okay these people are believers

  538. now our job when we meet believers or someone

  539. comes to preach to you right let's let's start

  540. from the first one our job when you meet believers

  541. that is already in the faiths exercise faith

  542. in christ is to encourage them in the greater

  543. works right so when you meet believer and you're

  544. doing evangelism and you meet the person say

  545. oh i'm born again person oh i'm born again ask

  546. the person tell me what you believe and the person

  547. where i believe in Christ, death, burial and

  548. resurrection. I also believe I have received

  549. the spirit, right? And I can function in the

  550. spirit. Don't just say, oh, good, awesome. You,

  551. you are already in the kingdom. Then you move.

  552. No, you encourage them to do the greater works.

  553. You tell the person, do you go for evangelism?

  554. You can join us in evangelism. We go out at this

  555. time. We move at this time. This is the church.

  556. So you don't just that is also a message for

  557. them. The message is the greater works they must

  558. do. The greater works too. Right? So they must

  559. do the greater works. You encourage them towards

  560. evangelism. Some of them might not even believe

  561. that they should be doing evangelism. Some of

  562. them might be struggling with anxiety, which

  563. some of us do. Right? Over in the course of the

  564. teaching, we would check. Sometimes when you

  565. don't go for evangelism, it's not because you

  566. don't have time. Sometimes it's anxiety that

  567. keeps you in your houses. Sometimes it's fear

  568. of, who am I going to go and meet there that

  569. I've never met before? you know i don't know

  570. the the fellow out there i don't know the response

  571. right so many people just believe they receive

  572. the spirit and they are calm and cool and they

  573. are fine but you must tell them that the greater

  574. works they must do because they have the spirit

  575. of god in them so it means that you won't be

  576. tearing up their fates when we come on wednesday

  577. and as the teaching goes on man open wednesday

  578. might extend beyond wednesday right we will see

  579. that people can actually have faiths weakened

  580. faith towards evangelism your faith might actually

  581. be weakened so it means that when you want to

  582. function and evangelize you are you are either

  583. doubting if god will save the person or you are

  584. doubting if the person will listen or you are

  585. doubting the word of faith that you have in your

  586. mouth do you get it so for those people that

  587. have believed you encourage them for the greater

  588. work that's the message for them too and you

  589. can also for now the second people that you will

  590. meet second people that you will meet now you

  591. will meet people for example the disciples of

  592. the brothers of jesus are in this category people

  593. who never believed the they know about jesus

  594. as the messiah right in the context of the brothers

  595. of jesus they never believed him as the messiah

  596. the one jesus the one the scriptures prophesied

  597. about but they believe right sometimes I doubt

  598. if we really do have these categories today but

  599. they believe in the resurrection so they never

  600. believed the incarnation of Jesus they never

  601. accepted him which is the brothers of Jesus the

  602. ones who are ready they said well go out and

  603. show yourself to the people right so they never

  604. believed the incarnation but they believe in

  605. the resurrection later on right later on they

  606. believe in the resurrection Christ and that was

  607. why we read John 7 verse 1 to 5 and we will realize

    John 7:1–5

  608. that the people in this context are the brothers

  609. of Jesus and he says and his bread and said unto

  610. him verse 3 go into Judea that the disciples

  611. may see the works that thou doest for there's

  612. no man that doeth anything in secret that's and

  613. and himself to get to be known openly right If

  614. thou do these things, show thyself to the world.

  615. Verse 5 says, for neither did his brethren believe

  616. in him. Right? Neither did his brethren believe

  617. in him. Neither did the brethren believe in him.

  618. So you might meet people who do not believe that

  619. God is the one that took on flesh and came out

  620. on earth or appeared on earth to save man. You

  621. might meet people like that. We're going to talk

  622. about sects like that. So these ones, they don't

  623. believe that the man Jesus is God. They don't

  624. believe he's God. They don't believe in the incarnation

  625. of God on Earth. But they say, well, we believe

  626. in the resurrection. We believe he died, he rose

  627. again, and his resurrection is true. Right. Now,

  628. what's the problem with this? What's the problem

  629. with this? The problem with this is that they

  630. do not. They do not acknowledge that God is the

  631. one that came to save man. But God sent an agent

  632. to save man. Do we get a problem there? They

  633. do not acknowledge that God is the one that saved

  634. man. But they believe that God sent an agent

  635. to save man. Now there's a very big problem in

  636. this one. It means that the faith of people Would

  637. not be well established in God So you met you

  638. meet me. I mean you if you have been doing evangelism

  639. You have met these people if you have read some

  640. of their books you would have seen Now for this

  641. set of people you have to preach to them again

  642. and explain the incarnation of Christ and God

  643. promise Hebrews chapter 2 Right, you have to

    Hebrews 2 chapter mention

  644. explain Hebrews chapter 2 to them that God took

    Hebrews 2 chapter mention

  645. on flesh to save man that no agent can save man

  646. except God right so they believe Jesus is just

  647. an agent but Jesus is not an agent Jesus is God

  648. manifested on earth and all of that to feel to

  649. save man from us and so God is the one that promised

  650. God is the one that came and God is the one that

  651. fulfilled God promised God came and got fulfilled

  652. God promised he came and fulfilled So for them

  653. you could be wondering the question you ask them

  654. is if God promised that I will do I will Why

  655. is he sending an agents and the question you

  656. also ask them is All along he has been sending

  657. agents from Moses in the name of a prophet, right?

  658. prophets judges men who believe Abraham, David,

  659. do you mean Jesus is just like one of them? It

  660. means that they are not well established. They

  661. are not established in faith. So you meet this

  662. second category of people. For them, it's a struggle.

  663. Many people come to ask me about the question

  664. in the week. Sir, are they saved? We'll come

  665. back to that, okay? This is the question they

  666. ask me. If somebody believes in Jesus as an agent,

  667. is he saved? If somebody believes that Jesus

  668. His incarnation is not God, but just a manifestation.

  669. Is the person say, but the person believe in

  670. resurrection. You know, the person believe in

  671. the resurrection of Jesus. We will come to that.

  672. But I've told you what to do when you encounter

  673. this kind of a people. Now the third people,

  674. the people who neither believe the incarnation

  675. nor did they believe the resurrection. They didn't

  676. believe the incarnation. They didn't believe

  677. it's the Messiah in the body. After the resurrection,

  678. They orchestrated again to say that the resurrection

  679. never took place. Right? So you need a lie to

  680. cover a lie and a lie and a lie. So if they have

  681. lied, that is not, which I will say it's a lie.

  682. He said, you are, you are, you are the devil,

  683. right? Your father. So this set of people, they

  684. never believed in Jesus when he was alive in

  685. his human form. Never believed it was God, the

  686. question name, and they never believed in the

  687. resurrection. Now the examples are the Pharisees

  688. and the Sadducees. And truly you would find people

  689. like that today. Right? You'll find people like

  690. that today. They never believe in His incarnation,

  691. Him in the body. And they never believe in His

  692. resurrection. Now this one clearly they are the

  693. unsaved. They are the unsaved. Some of them have

  694. heard the gospel and they want to really prove

  695. to you that Jesus never came and all of that.

  696. So John you can put John 7 verse 45 to 53 John

    John 7:45–53 John 7:45–53

  697. chapter 7 verse 45 to 53 For these people there

  698. is no greater works to do Right. There is no

  699. possibility of a greater work. There's nothing

  700. they can do. They don't have the spirits They

  701. don't believe they don't have the spirit. They

  702. cannot do greater works, right? So it is not

  703. to partner with them but to rather Begin to reveal

  704. from the scriptures what God has promised He

  705. will do what God did and What he has fulfilled

  706. so you can find this kind of a people so you

  707. have to preach to them This one you need to open

  708. the scripture extensively with them right and

  709. teach them that Jesus is the Messiah so Now the

  710. thought the fourth people which they are similar

  711. to the second like the four people that you meet

  712. It's others who believe he existed as a prophet

  713. so others who believe he existed as a prophet

  714. They believe he existed as a prophet and specifically

  715. the word prophets Specifically the word prophets,

  716. but did not resurrect so they denied the resurrection

  717. again the denied the resurrection again They

  718. denied the resurrection again. Now, for these

  719. same people, they are also unbelievers, right?

  720. So when somebody said, oh, I believe in Jesus,

  721. right? You need to know what they believe about

  722. Jesus. You need to know when they believe about

  723. Jesus, like what, when and what. For example,

  724. did you believe in him as the incarnate? Did

  725. you believe him as one of the prophets? You believe

  726. him as God? And did you believe in the resurrection?

  727. Because believing is not believing in general.

  728. Do we get it? Believing is not believing. Now

  729. this is to equip us for evangelism. Do we get

  730. it? This is to equip us so when you go out, your

  731. mind is set, your mind is, you know, you have

  732. understanding. You have understanding. And for

  733. those of us that are believed in the death, burial,

  734. and resurrection of Jesus, we have greater works

  735. to do towards the three other category of people

  736. to teach them more about the resurrection and

  737. the ascension of Christ into the life of the

  738. believer. Praise God. We'll continue on Thursday

  739. on this discussion. I trust we have been blessed.

  740. Can we just pray? We appreciate you being here
