Welcome to NECF sermons. Each message here is
-
designed to uplift and strengthen you in your
-
walk with God. Don't miss out. Stay with us until
-
the end for a rewarding experience. Let's dive
-
right in. Today we're going to continue in what
-
I have been teaching us about. And it is the
-
supernatural nature of the Christian gathering.
-
What is supernatural about our gathering? Praise
-
the Lord. Did we just gather to meet one another?
-
Did we gather to ensure that people see that
-
we are looking good in one of our best dress
-
or do we gather for something else what is supernatural
-
about this gathering Matthew chapter 28 verse
-
18 to 20 And Jesus came and spoke to them saying,
-
all authority has been given to me in heaven
-
and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples
-
of all nations, baptizing them in the name of
-
the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
-
teaching them to observe all the things I've
-
commanded you and know I'm with you always, even
-
to the end of the age. Amen. This is the mandate
-
of every believer This is the assignment of every
-
believer This is what God has called every believer
-
to do to go and make disciples To go and make
-
disciples in verse 19 He says we're teaching
-
them to observe all the things I've commanded
-
you and lower with you always even to the end
-
of the age to make disciples to teach praise
-
the lord to teach matatio we said it's m a t
-
h e t e u o it means teaching by the way of practice
-
praise the lord by the way of practice it means
-
to model something by teaching and also by exercise
-
that is by practice Teaching them to observe
-
all the things that have commanded you so making
-
disciples involves Being very practical praise
-
the Lord. It involves being very practical So
-
what Christ has called us to do is a practical
-
thing. It is a thing that involves a lot of exercise
-
It involves a lot of things It is by practice
-
it is modeling praised the Lord So and sometimes
-
which I mentioned the last time why we use some
-
of these maybe Greek or Hebrew words Is not to
-
confuse you praise the Lord is not to make us
-
look like we are smart Praise the Lord. It's
-
not to make us look like all these guys there
-
was no something different than what we know
-
praise the Lord is to help us Interpret to the
-
scriptures properly. Praise the Lord is to help
-
us interpret the scriptures properly because
-
without it we are not effectively able to interpret
-
the scriptures praise the lord if you don't pay
-
attention to the original language or the the
-
text of the scripture you will not be able to
-
effectively interpret it you will say something
-
that is not saying praise the lord because the
-
greek and the greek is The original effects of
-
the scriptures. It's not to confuse you. Praise
-
the Lord It's not to confuse you, but it helps
-
you to be able to interpret the scriptures properly
-
So when he says to teach them to observe all
-
the things I've commanded you he's saying that
-
What we do in the Christian gathering is that
-
you are taught the word praise the Lord or you
-
learn the word, right? you learn also to minister
-
the word and you also learn how to apply the
-
word in your life this is what discipleship is
-
about that you are as you are taught as we are
-
gathered here and the word of god is coming you
-
have been taught the word and then you also taught
-
that you also should minister the word and you
-
also should apply this word in your life Praise
-
the Lord that you are complete Without any reproach
-
that you are complete They are not somebody that
-
just had the world and you run away Praise the
-
Lord. You're not somebody who just received the
-
word and you run away. You're not in the place
-
of discipleship But as you come to the house
-
of the Lord as you have come and you have believed
-
is that also you learn How to minister the world
-
you participate in the things of the kingdom
-
You also learn how to apply the word in your
-
life because this word that you are applying
-
is that which is able to Transform your character.
-
Praise the Lord. The application of the word
-
is able to transform your character How people
-
break free from different things that they are
-
struggling most of the time is because they don't
-
have enough of the world They are struggling
-
for long because they don't have enough of the
-
world they have not applied it or they don't
-
even know it They don't know their position in
-
Christ They don't know what God has said consigning
-
them. They don't know what God has said consigning
-
their situation So when you apply the word in
-
your life as it starts you are transformed you're
-
renewed So that is what discipleship is about
-
is that you learn the world you minister the
-
world and you learn to apply it in your life
-
Therefore I said that the church is therefore
-
a Bible school The church is therefore a Bible
-
school. It's not a place of entertainment It's
-
not a place where there is a list of things to
-
do We have this we have that It's not a place
-
where people come and they do as they please
-
Praise the Lord. It is it is a Bible school.
-
It's a place where you are taught the word You
-
are taught how to apply the word. You are taught
-
how to minister the word It's a place where you
-
are fed the word It's a place of training So,
-
how do you decide a What church to attend? Right,
-
if you don't know maybe if you're confused because
-
as we know a most of us if not Everybody will
-
someday pack their bags and say they want to
-
leave Cyprus, right? So how do you decide where
-
you will go? Know for a lot of people Through
-
persuasion and through encouragement They were
-
able to stay in any CF. Initially they came and
-
they were looking for vibes Am I feeling it?
-
Is it appealed? Is it appealing to me? Do I?
-
These things they are saying does it make sense
-
to me? That's not what you look for. Praise the
-
Lord or you don't go and then you say are they
-
young people here? is this church full of old
-
people i will not stay here because there are
-
a lot of people of my age here or do you go there
-
and then you're looking for different different
-
things to to maybe apply to you for you to be
-
able to stay how you decide where to go is that
-
is that place a bible school do they teach the
-
word praise the lord not 20 minutes okay i remember
-
pastor t was telling us of Somebody who is experiencing
-
20 minutes of teaching praise the Lord you will
-
not grow by 20 minutes of teaching Praise the
-
Lord it might you might You might be motivated
-
you might jump up you might shout you might run
-
around but you are not going to grow Praise the
-
Lord is not sufficient for you because your spiritual
-
being praise the Lord Your spiritual being if
-
you give yourself maybe if you need hundred percent
-
of food, right? I'm not saying all the food that
-
is that For you to be able to be effective in
-
your day. You need hundred percent food, right?
-
Whatever that is you and you take twenty percent
-
Right, you're going to start having problems
-
Praise the Lord. So he's saying with a spiritual
-
being Right? Somebody who is spiritual. Somebody
-
who by the Word is saved. Praise the Lord. Somebody
-
who by the Word is saved. 1 Peter chapter 1 verse
-
23. Sorry not of corruptible seed but incorruptible
-
through the word of God which leaves and abides
-
forever Praise the Lord. How did we become born
-
again? We became born again right not by corruptible
-
seed The word that you receive is incorruptible.
-
He said it is the word of God. He said he leaves
-
and abides forever So how is there somebody who
-
is who is born again is receiving less of the
-
thing that will continue to keep them Or the
-
thing that will continue to enable them to grow
-
Praise the Lord so you need the world so how
-
you decide a place that you are going to attend
-
is not by you know It's not by now. We have a
-
lot of good into interior designers They can
-
design a place and you will come and so people's
-
like this place feels like heaven Because maybe
-
the reception how people treat you how they greet
-
you, you know the music the lights nowadays Red
-
lights and green lights in church, right? So
-
there's so many things going on and you just
-
like wow what a place Praise the lord is not
-
by these are how you decide where to stay Are
-
they teaching the world? Is it a place? Where
-
the word of god is taught? Is it a place where
-
you are taught to the world? Where you are taught
-
to minister the world where you are taught to
-
apply the world in your life? Praise the lord
-
Where you are taught to apply the world in your
-
life The reason why I said is not a It's not
-
a place of entertainment is because he does not
-
what a spiritual being needs Praise the Lord
-
We rejoice in the Holy Ghost. Our joy is not
-
a standard. Praise the Lord Our joy is not a
-
standard. You're not looking for something to
-
make you happy Praise the Lord, you know, I've
-
been around different type of people and some
-
people they come alive when there's a drink,
-
you know when you bring up they just from there
-
it just brings them you just see them they're
-
very happy they're very social they're very praise
-
the lord they are so glad to see you all of a
-
sudden somebody is just happy to see you but
-
you don't know the influence is that because
-
he does smoke something or he drank something
-
praise the lord our joy is not external it's
-
not from the things that we can get we'll see
-
that much more later on it's not but he thinks
-
that is a standard So you decide to go to a church
-
because the word is taught Time is given to the
-
teaching of the word of God. It is a Bible school
-
People learn praise the Lord So because sometimes
-
you find a place where maybe the word is not
-
taught then other activities are created so many
-
things Like you're jumping from one activity
-
two activity three activity at the end of the
-
day, you know, you're just waiting Can the world
-
just come let's go and some people are used to
-
because I also grew up in such backgrounds Do
-
that the world comes and is very short. He just
-
You know, did you hear what he said today? He
-
said you should love your neighbor. Praise the
-
lord and that's what we went with Praise the
-
lord Why should you pay attention to the place
-
where the word of God is taught? first Timothy
-
chapter 3 verse 15 First Timothy chapter 3 verse
-
15 But if I am delayed I write so that you may
-
know how you ought to conduct yourself in the
-
house of God Which is the Church of the Living
-
God the pillar and the ground of truth Praise
-
the Lord. Why is it important is because the
-
church is the pillar and the ground of truth
-
It means that it is a place where people come
-
and learn the truth Praise the Lord. It is the
-
place where people come and learn the truth.
-
It is a pillar and the ground of truth It is
-
a Bible school so you you ought to conduct you
-
ought to know how to conduct yourself in that
-
place he says You teach the world right it is
-
a place of training So how do we conduct ourselves
-
in the house of God we know that it is a place
-
of teaching it is a place of training Acts chapter
-
2 verse 42 And they continue steadfastly in the
-
apostles doctrines and in fellowship and in the
-
breaking of bread and in prayers. Praise the
-
Lord. They continue steadfastly in what the apostles
-
doctrine and in fellowship and in breaking of
-
bread. They continued. The word of God is important.
-
It is a place the church ought to teach it, ought
-
to give time to it. This is what the church should
-
be a place of teaching a place of training Mark
Mark 16 chapter mention
-
chapter 16 from s 15 to 18 Mark chapter 16 And
Mark 16 chapter mention
-
he said to them, go into all the world and preach
-
the gospel to every creature. He who believes
-
and is baptized will be saved, while he who does
-
not believe, he who does not believe will be
-
condemned. And these signs will follow those
-
who believe. In my name they will cast out demons,
-
they will speak with new tongues. They will take
-
up serpent, and if they drink anything deadly,
-
it will by no means hurt them. They will lay
-
hands on the sick, and they will recover. Praise
-
the Lord. So when a person or when a man is born
-
again, his purpose changes. Praise the Lord.
-
He has a different purpose. He has a different
-
view about life. Praise the Lord. He's no longer
-
going the way he was going. He's no longer following
-
the things that he's following now. He becomes
-
somebody who is what a teacher of the world He's
-
discipled. So he also disciples people His mandates
-
becomes to announce God to teach praise the Lord
-
to announce God as King What is he saying to
-
them? What is he announcing? What God has done
-
right right what God is doing at this time and
-
what God would do praise the Lord His teaching
-
is announcing God as King He's announcing what
-
God has done That is what he's teaching. He's
-
announcing what God has done You're telling people
-
the things that Christ has done Praise the Lord.
-
I was listening to someone and he was just talking
-
about the scriptures. And the thing that I picked
-
more in what he's saying is how he's presenting
-
it. Like how, for example, he's telling you about
-
the gospel as though you never had it before.
-
as though you were never in church. There was
-
excitement in his voice. He has said it thousands
-
and thousands and thousands of times and he's
-
saying it everywhere. It's something that he
-
does all the time. But when he comes again to
-
say it, he comes to say it again with the same
-
level of gladness. Praise the Lord. Because it
-
is the good news. He knows how important it is
-
for you to hear the gospel. Praise the Lord.
-
so when you are what you are doing is that you
-
are now seeing what God has done the good tiding
-
of what Christ has done praise the Lord and what
-
he is currently doing praise the Lord and what
-
he will do or what he's planning to do that is
-
what you are preaching That is what a believer
-
does. That is what somebody who is born again
-
does is that you are excited about the things
-
that have happened to you. Praise the Lord. And
-
if you're not excited, it also means that there
-
is need for or if you're not doing this, it means
-
that there's need for more training. Praise the
-
Lord. It means that you need to know the world
-
more. Praise the Lord. So it means that the believer
-
is able to explain the scriptures. You're not
-
somebody who is, you know, you just maybe quote
-
one, two, three, four places. And then you keep
-
going. Maybe just to make your point. Is that
-
you are able to explain the scriptures. You are
-
able to share the gospel. So like I said your
-
life changes your purpose is changes when you
-
become a believer So you no longer measure your
-
life by the things that you have achieved in
-
the natural Praise the Lord. You're no longer
-
defining your life But you measure your life
-
but the gospel you preach by the practice of
-
the gospel praise the Lord By the ministry of
-
the gospel I Know many people they want to they
-
want to buy this I want to buy that which is
-
great And you should buy that praise the Lord,
-
but you're not you're not defining your life
-
by them Praise the Lord. You will not come and
-
say I'm not sure if it's bad or not. For example
-
now you just bought a big car You don't say,
-
ah, see what God has done. Praise the Lord. It
-
is important for you to have a big car if you
-
need it, praise the Lord. But you're not, you're
-
not, your joy is not that, praise the Lord. Your
-
joy is that you are preaching the gospel, that
-
as a result of your life, people are transformed
-
as a result of your obedience to the things of
-
god people's life are being transformed praise
-
the lord when you see a person healed you say
-
this is what god has done praise the lord because
-
god says what that he would provide for you the
-
things that you need he's going to provide it
-
praise the lord that is already guaranteed by
-
god that he will take care of you So you no longer
-
have to be boasting about all. Praise the Lord.
-
You are boasting about the things that you are
-
doing for the kingdom. That you are a minister
-
of the kingdom. That you practice the things
-
of God. You measure your life by the gospel that
-
you preach. The practice of it. The ministry
-
of it. Not by your natural success. You know,
-
maybe they don't put doctor on your name as a
-
PhD holder. You just scatter the place praise
-
the Lord maybe they call you to preach somewhere
-
and then Mistakily, they did not complete the
-
names who have seen that viral video of that
-
woman. There's an apostle and a doctor who is
-
good Praise the Lord. So if if they don't say
-
something it's like no, no, no, praise the Lord
-
You understand what success is Because your purpose
-
is different John chapter 20 from this 21 to
John 20 chapter mention
-
22 So Jesus said to them again Peace to you as
-
a father has sent me I also send you And when
-
he has said this, he breathed on them and he
-
said to them, receive the Holy Spirit. If you
-
forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven. If
-
you retain the sin of any, they are retrained.
-
Praise the Lord. So Pasifreda has taught us a
-
lot about this message. You can go and check
-
it out on our... Spotify and many other platforms
-
about the forgiveness of sins Praise the Lord
-
So God has sent us right or go sorry God sent
-
us so that We will do his will He says as a father
-
has sent me I also send you Jesus is saying that
-
he's me your that his mission has become your
-
mission praise the Lord His mission now has become
-
your mission You have inherited something. Praise
-
the Lord. You have inherited a mission to forgive
-
sins. Praise the Lord. You have inherited mission
-
to forgive sins. As we know, as Pastor Astotus,
-
He said, God is the one who forgives sins. It
-
is God who forgives sins. Praise the Lord. It
-
is God who forgives sins. Psalms, chapter 103,
Psalms 103 chapter mention
-
from verse one to three. He said, bless the Lord,
-
all my soul, and all that is within me, bless
-
his holy name. Bless the Lord, all my soul, and
-
forget not his benefits. who forgive all your
-
iniquity, who heals all your diseases. So it
-
is God that is forgiving sins. It is God that
-
forgives sins. My catch of the seven from verse
-
18 to 19. My catch of the seven from verse 18
-
to 19. M I C A H Micah, chapter 17, from verse
-
18 to 19 says, who is a God like you, pardoning
-
iniquity and passing over the transgression of
-
the remnant of his inheritance? He does not retain
-
his anger forever because he delights in mercy.
-
6 to 7. It says, And the Lord passed before him
-
and proclaimed, The Lord the Lord God, merciful
-
and gracious, long -suffering and abounding in
-
goodness and truth. Keeping mercy for thousands
-
for giving iniquity and transgressions and sins
-
by no means and by no and by no means clearing
-
the guilty Visiting the iniquity of the father
-
upon the children and the children's children
-
to the third and the fourth generation I read
-
this thing so that you will go to pastor Victor's
-
teaching Praise the Lord. These last parts. Okay,
-
so that you go and listen to Pastor Victor's
-
teaching. So he's not saying that God is not
-
going to forgive their sins. We learn that, okay?
-
So you go back to that and listen to that message.
-
So God is the one that forgives sins. But what
-
we do is that we partner with him. Praise the
-
Lord. When we become believers and disabled,
-
We partner with God to forgive sins So when you
-
preach to somebody and the person believes what
-
you just did is that you partnered with God and
-
their sins are forgiven? Praise the Lord When
-
you preach to somebody and they believe Right
-
and the person believes what you just did is
-
that you partnered with God and their sins are
-
forgiven You are an agent of God. Praise the
-
Lord. You've become an agent of God So even in
-
our lives, right? Somebody offends you. Somebody
-
does something bad to you. Praise the Lord. We
-
are taught that as well. How forgiveness of sin
-
is rendered. So when somebody offends you and
-
you forgive them, what you are doing is that
-
you are an agent of God. Praise the Lord. You
-
are giving forgiveness. So you are acting, so
-
God is acting through you, right? And you are
-
showing God's nature of forgiveness. So when
-
you forgive sins, somebody offends you, or you
-
preach the gospel, right? God is acting through
-
you. And you are showing the nature of God by
-
forgiveness. Praise the Lord. You are showing
-
that you belong to God. The person that forgives
-
him is just declaring that I am of God Praise
-
the Lord. The person that forgives him is declaring
-
that he is of God So when you hold a grudge against
-
somebody right that unforgiveness is seen Right
-
because you don't believe You are you're showing
-
like I said when you forgive sins when you preach
-
or when you forgive somebody that offends you
-
Right what you are showing is that you're showing
-
God's nature like through your life by forgiveness
-
When you don't you are showing unbelief Praise
-
the Lord why because God has forgiven so we forgive
-
Praise the Lord because God has forgiven so we
-
forgive So when you don't forgive it means that
-
you don't you are showing that you don't believe
-
the forgiveness of God That's what you're showing.
-
You're showing that you don't believe the forgiveness
-
of God Colossians chapter 3 verse 13 Colossians
-
chapter 3 verse 13 Bearing with one another forgiving
-
one another If anyone has a complaint against
-
Eloda, even as Christ forgave you, so you also
-
must forgive. Praise the Lord. Why do you forgive?
-
Because you are forgiven. Praise the Lord. You
-
have the ability to forgive because you are somebody
-
who is forgiven. You are somebody who is forgiven.
-
You forgive because God has forgiven your sin.
-
forgiveness comes from God and you are born of
-
God praise the Lord you forgive because God has
-
forgiven you forgiveness comes from God and you
-
are born of God you have the ability to forgive
-
because you are born of God so God giving us
-
a spirit right as we saw in the Jones of the
-
20 is to partner with him is to partner with
-
him to bring about his forgiveness on the earth
-
is to partner with him let's go back to Matthew
Matthew 20 chapter mention
-
chapter 20 20. Matthew 28 verse 20. It's a teaching
-
them to observe all the things that have commanded
-
you and know I'm with you always even to the
-
end of the age. So this teaching here we said
-
is the word disaster right d -a sorry d -i -d
-
-a -s -k -o right it means that discipleship
-
involves teaching it involves instruction it
-
means to give instructions right it means to
-
educate it means to educate he means to teach
-
so he said that teaching them to observe the
-
things that he has commanded you so jesus has
-
taught his disciples some things praise the lord
-
and he's saying that you should teach other people
-
the things that i taught you so what did he just
-
what did you just teach them what did jesus teach
-
his disciples or where did he teach them from
-
the teaching that he was teaching them where
-
did he get it from did they just come from the
-
stars from the moon from his ideas from what
-
he thinks about life praise the lord or did he
-
come from his experience where did he come from
-
luke chapter 24 luke chapter 24 verse 25 to 27
Luke 24 chapter mention Luke 24:25–27
-
then he said to them all foolish ones and snow
-
of heart to believe in all that the prophet has
-
spoken or not the Christ to have suffered these
-
things and and to enter his glory and beginning
-
at Moses and all the prophet he expounded to
-
them in all the scriptures the things consigning
-
himself verse 44 Then he said to them These are
-
the words which I spoke to you while I'll stay
-
with you that all Things must be fulfilled which
-
was written in the law of Moses and in the prophets
-
and in the Psalms consigning me the rest verse
-
And he opened the understanding that he may comprehend
-
the scriptures praise the Lord So he said that
-
what he espounded the scriptures to them In all
-
the scriptures the things concerning himself.
-
So Jesus was teaching them from the scriptures
-
Praise the Lord. Jesus was teaching them From
-
the scriptures when he say espound, right? It
-
means to interpret to explain Is a word I manual
-
D I E R M E N E U O It means to interpret to
-
explain so Jesus was explaining the scriptures
-
to them and showing them that he was talking
-
about him praise the Lord, he did not say believe
-
in me and Just believe in me praise the Lord
-
just believe what I'm saying to you Or he will
-
use the phrase that my wife does not like when
-
I use I will lie for you. Right? Jesus was also
-
saying to them, I will lie for you. Just believe
-
me. No. He went to the scriptures to show them
-
the things concerning himself. Praise the Lord.
-
He's going to prove. He's also saying, you know,
-
I'm your senior. You know, I know these things
-
more than you. I'm spiritual, you are not. You
-
cannot understand it. You're too dull of understanding.
-
Do you understand? that's all he was saying to
-
them he said he went to the scriptures like come
-
let's go and research together praise the lord
-
so so if somebody is having doubts about the
-
scriptures about their faith about you don't
-
you don't say why you have you have tarried on
-
this mountain too long praise the lord you have
-
stayed there for too long you should have understanding
-
no you go again and you open the scriptures Praise
-
the Lord. So Jesus touched the touch them from
-
the scriptures. He explained he interpreted So
-
when he says that he opened their understanding
-
the last time we're here I said it was not that
-
he lay hands on them as they receive understanding
-
Praise the Lord is by explanation The way that
-
you understand the course by your teacher taking
-
the time to explain to you right he went and
-
he taught them the scriptures were saying things
-
consigning him and they believed not because
-
he was the one saying it but because they saw
-
the explanation as he was explaining they were
-
seeing it praise the lord from the scriptures
-
so it's also an attitude that you should have
-
like i said when you are deciding where you want
-
to worship praise the lord that somebody is able
-
to explain the scriptures They're not just saying
-
believe it believe it believe it Praise the Lord.
-
They are able to explain the scriptures. Praise
-
the Lord and they know that in the explanation
-
is The Holy Spirit also working to also help
-
you understand to also help you comprehend Praise
-
the Lord If he did not explain scriptures for
-
you, there's no there's no work that would be
-
done in you. Praise the Lord So again So that
-
is what Jesus was doing to them he expounded
-
the scriptures he explained to them, right So
-
it therefore means that we need to handle the
-
scriptures with a skillfulness, praise the Lord.
-
You need to give yourself to learning the scriptures.
-
That's why we're teaching sometimes the way we
-
teach is so that you also begin to learn how
-
to handle the scriptures. Praise the Lord. You
-
will not dismiss things. You will not just be
-
quoting scriptures here and there. join this
-
join that join that you you keep going you keep
-
going there is no explanation what is that place
-
saying how does he how does it he how does it
-
tally with what you are trying to say praise
-
the lord so quoting scriptures is not teaching
-
i'm quoting it here here here is not you that's
-
you you're not teaching praise the lord you're
-
just saying you're just saying so many things
-
So the way you handle the scriptures also give
-
an indication of the church that you offend Praise
-
the Lord the way you handle the scriptures the
-
way you you look at the scriptures the way you
-
pay attention to the scriptures the skillfulness
-
that you have in Interpreting or in explaining
-
the scriptures shows the kind of church that
-
you offend So you must know how to explain the
-
scriptures. You must strive to explain the scriptures
-
praise the lord don't be happy to be just let
-
and just give me the word me i'm just a receiver
-
praise the lord i'll keep receiving just keep
-
saying it i'll keep writing just keep saying
-
also learn how to explain it praise the lord
-
it takes time it takes a lot of effort praise
-
the lord but also learn how to explain the scriptures
-
so that your children example let's bring it
-
very close we know that God's mandate is for
-
you to do around the world but let's bring it
-
closer right so your children will not be 16
-
and then they had the scriptures for the first
-
time somewhere praise the Lord they say wow is
-
this the explanation I'm just hearing it for
-
the first time and apparently their father or
-
their mother is a confessing believer Praise
-
the Lord. It means that you have left the work
-
of the Lord. You left you let you forgot the
-
nations You forgot your family. Praise the Lord
-
It means that that mandates that is saying go
-
and preach to all the world. You did not take
-
it up It means you left it It means you were
-
not practicing it It means that you have a refused
-
to allow yourself so that God can walk through
-
you Praise the Lord To strive to be able to explain
-
the scriptures verse 44 to 45 of that place Luke
Luke 24 chapter mention
-
chapter 24 44 to 45 He said then he said to them
-
These are the words which I spoke to you while
-
I was still with you That all this all things
-
must be fulfilled which was written in the law
-
and in the prophets and in the sons concerning
-
me and he opened the understanding that he may
-
comprehend the scriptures he did that by explanation
-
so jesus was teaching from the scriptures and
-
as he said the scriptures or the bible that jesus
-
had was not matthew mark luke and john he did
-
not have those he did not have the acts of the
-
apostles praise the Lord what he had was Genesis
-
to Malachi praise the Lord what Jesus had the
-
explanation he was giving them was Genesis to
-
Malachi so the context of Jesus explanation the
-
context of his walk on earth is what Genesis
-
to Malachi that's what he was explaining to them
-
that's where he he did his walk The volume of
-
the books written concerning him was not Luke.
-
It was Genesis to Malachi. Praise the Lord. It
-
means that God was saying was saying was already
-
saying so many things from there. The things
-
that were there were sufficient enough. Praise
-
the Lord. so We also can observe that sometimes
-
that the book of the Old Testament were called
-
the prophets Right in that same place where we
-
read Luke chapter 24 verse 25 Luke chapter 24
-
verse 25 He says and then he said to them all
-
foolish ones of snow had to believe in all that
-
the prophet has spoken praise the Lord In all
-
that the prophets have spoken verse 27 It's a
-
beginning and beginning at Moses and in all the
-
prophets He has founded to them in all the scriptures
-
the things for assigning himself verse 44 Then
-
he said to them these are the words which I spoke
-
to you while I was still with you that all things
-
must be fulfilled which was written in the law
-
of Moses and in the prophets and in the Psalms
-
consigning me. Praise the Lord. So the scriptures
-
were called Psalms. They were called prophets.
-
They were called the laws of Moses. Praise the
-
Lord. So we see that the word prophet was repeated
-
so many times in these places that we read. So
-
one of the ways in which the scriptures is described
-
is as the prophets. Praise the Lord. the scriptures
-
is described as the prophets so the Old Testament
-
book is called the prophets we see that more
-
whom heaven must receive until the time of restoration
-
of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth
-
of all his holy prophets since the beginning,
-
since the world begun. Verse 22. For Moses truly
-
said to the fathers, the Lord your God will raise
-
up for you a prophet like me from your brethren,
-
him you shall hear in all things, whatever he
-
says to you. verse 24 to 25 the prophets so another
-
way to look at the scriptures is the prophets
-
so he already shows us the background of the
-
context of the scriptures the prophets Romans
-
chapter 16 verse 25 to 26 Romans chapter 16 verse
-
25 to 26 Romans 16 now to him who is able to
-
establish you according to the gospel and the
-
preaching of Jesus Christ according to the revelation
-
of the mystery kept secret since the world began
-
but now made manifest by the prophetic scriptures
-
made known to all the nation according to the
-
commandments of the everlasting god for obedience
-
to the faith praise the lord prophetic scriptures
-
Romans chapter one verse two which he promised
-
through his prophets in the holy scriptures his
-
prophets so the bible is called the prophet hebrew
-
chapter one verse one God who at various time
-
and in various ways spoken in time past to the
-
fathers by the prophets Praise the Lord. So the
-
Bible is therefore a book of prophets. It's a
-
prophetic book It's not a commercial book. Praise
-
the Lord. It's not a five -step book. Praise
-
the Lord is not a Just put the ETC there It is
-
a prophetic book. Second Timothy chapter 3 verse
-
16. Second Timothy chapter 3 verse 16. He said,
-
all scriptures is given by the inspiration of
-
God and is profitable for doctrines, for reproof,
-
for correction, for instruction in righteousness.
-
Right? That word inspiration is also another
-
way to say prophets. Praise the Lord. Peter chapter
-
1 from verse 10 to 12. 1 Peter chapter 1 from
1 Peter 1 chapter mention
-
verse 10 to 12. Of the salvation the prophet
-
have inquired and sat carefully who prophesied
-
of the grace that will come to you. Such in what
-
manner of time the spirit of Christ who was in
-
them was indicating when he testified beforehand
-
the suffering of Christ and the glories that
-
would follow. To them it was a review that sorry
-
to them. It was a review that Not to them then
-
not to themselves But to us they were ministering
-
things which now have been reported to you through
-
those who have Preached the gospel to you by
-
the Holy Spirit sent from heaven things with
-
angel desire to look into Second Timothy sorry
-
second Peter chapter 1 of his 19 to 21 Second
2 Peter 1 chapter mention
-
Peter chapter 19 to 21. And so we have prophetic,
-
the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well
-
to hit as light that shines in that place, in
-
that place until the day dawns and the morning
-
star rises in your heart. Knowing this first
-
and no prophecy of scripture, is of any private
-
interpretation verse 21 for prophecy never came
-
by the will of man but holy men of god spoke
-
as they were moved by the holy spirit praise
-
the lord so the entire old testament right is
-
called the world of prophecy it refers to it
-
as prophets praise the lord it refers to it Luke
Luke 11 chapter mention
-
chapter 11, from verse 49 to 51. Luke chapter
Luke 11 chapter mention
-
11. Therefore the wisdom of God also said, I
-
will send the prophets and the apostle, and some
-
of them they will kill and persecute. That the
-
blood of all the prophets which was shed from
-
the foundation of the world may be required of
-
this generation From the blood of Abel to the
-
blood of Zechariah who perished between the altars
-
and the temple Yes, I say to you it shall be
-
required of this generation Praise the Lord.
-
So Jesus is talking about the Old Testament or
-
the Old Testament So look who he called the prophet
-
Praise the Lord verse 51 look who we call the
-
prophet he said from the blood of Abel right
-
so Abel that we saw or that you might think of
-
as somebody who brought a firm product to God
-
as offering Christ is saying that he's a prophet
-
praise the Lord so he's not just that person
-
that was bringing the wonderful as you look at
-
it which we also saw in the church he's not somebody
-
that you look at as he's not just the person
-
you look at somebody who brought the sacrifice
-
of his farm product or his of the yield of the
-
land to god and his brother killed him that's
-
not just that man that man christ says he's what
-
the prophet he's or abel was a prophet hebrew
-
chapter 11 verse 4 Hebrews 11, they saw. They
-
said, by faith Abel offered to God a more excellent
-
sacrifice than Cain through which he obtained
-
witness that he was righteous, God testifying
-
of his gift. Through it, he, being dead, still
-
speaks. Praise the Lord. Abel was a prophet.
-
So the entire Old Testament was referred to as
-
the prophet, which means that if a book is called
-
a prophet, A way to see it contextually, that
-
is the word in it, the interpretation of it is
-
what? The prophet. So if the book, if something
-
is called the prophet, so the way you look at
-
it properly is the way you read it, the way you
-
interpret it is that is the prophet. So if you're
-
reading, if somebody writes, if a psychologist,
-
I don't know if we have a psychologist here,
-
if a psychologist writes a book, You know, you
-
can be sure that some of the things they wrote
-
would focus more on things concerning psychology
-
Praise the Lord. It will not be something relating
-
to something else right because this is their
-
field. Praise the Lord So if a Bible is written
-
by prophet, it means that the context of it right
-
would be the prophets Praise the Lord. It will
-
mean the prophets. So who is a prophet? Praise
-
the Lord. We're going to answer that on Wednesday
-
We appreciate you being here today. We hope you
