  1. Welcome to NECF sermons. Each message here is

  2. designed to uplift and strengthen you in your

  3. walk with God. Don't miss out. Stay with us until

  4. the end for our rewarding experience. Let's dive

  5. right in. Good evening everyone. I want to thank

  6. God for these opportunities to bring the world

  7. again to us. And I also want to thank the pastorate

  8. for this opportunity. So today we're going to

  9. continue with what we were doing on Sunday, right?

  10. And we were looking at part of what I've been

  11. teaching, the supernatural nature of the Christian

  12. gathering. And Matthew chapter 28 is where we

    Matthew 28 chapter mention

  13. have been at. Matthew chapter 28, verse 18, verse

    Matthew 28:18

  14. 18 to 20. And it says, Jesus came and spoke to

  15. them, saying, All authority has been given to

  16. me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make

  17. disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the

  18. name of the Father, the Son, and of the Holy

  19. Spirit, teaching them to observe all the things

  20. that have commanded you, and, lo and which you

  21. all wish, to the end of the age. Praise the Lord.

  22. And we said that this is the mandate of every

  23. believer this is what God has given to us to

  24. go and make disciples of all nations to go and

  25. preach the gospel praise the Lord the God's desire

  26. is for us that we are discipled so that we disciple

  27. others that his work continues on the earth that

  28. God's work continues on the earth that we carry

  29. out or we continue to carry out the mandate of

  30. God on the earth so he said that He, just as

  31. the Father has sent Him, we saw in John, so also

  32. He sent us, praise the Lord. So we are going

  33. and we are, God is walking through us, we are

  34. in partnership with the Holy Spirit to carry

  35. out the agendas and the plan of God on the earth,

  36. praise the Lord. And we said that that involves

  37. discipleship, praise the Lord. That you learn

  38. the Word, that you learn to minister and also

  39. that you learn to apply it, praise the Lord,

  40. in your daily life. And so we said that Jesus

  41. said to them in verse 20, he said, teaching them

  42. to observe all the things that have commanded

  43. you and law and virtue always, even to the end

  44. of the age. So they were certain things that

  45. Jesus has taught or Jesus has commanded his disciples

  46. that he's saying they should teach, praise the

  47. Lord. And we said it's important that We pay

  48. attention to these things because Christ did

  49. not teach about his experience. Praise the Lord.

  50. Christ did not teach about maybe he would tell

  51. us that, you know, in the world above that there

  52. are some things here and there. He didn't bother

  53. about that. He came to teach particular things

  54. and those things were already given. Praise the

  55. Lord. Those things were already given. So he

  56. came to bring revelation he came to bring explanation

  57. he came and he was bringing explanation to people

  58. praise the lord he was doing he was explaining

  59. to people he was telling them the things that

  60. has been written concerning him he interpreted

  61. the scriptures praise the lord so even as we

  62. go out to teach it's important that we teach

  63. the things that he has commanded us to teach

  64. praise the lord so sometimes I don't know for

  65. any other person but sometimes I might be reading

  66. the scriptures and maybe you just see maybe you're

  67. reading a story and then if you're not very careful

  68. your heart can lean towards something. Praise

  69. the Lord. Your heart can lean towards a direction.

  70. You start maybe applying it, not really interpreting

  71. the scripture but because maybe that thing you're

  72. just seeing for the first time is fascinating

  73. to you. You're just following that direction.

  74. Praise the Lord. So sometimes like this example

  75. a good example is I remember some time ago I

  76. was We you know the cave where David was right

  77. the cave where David was and Actually, I was

  78. okay. Let me just read through that place. There

  79. was already a lot said in the scriptures about

  80. the cave the things Particularly that happened

  81. in that cave. There were not a lot of things

  82. that were said about it praise the Lord so what

  83. sometimes you can be tempted to begin to maybe

  84. talk about it you know maybe David was there

  85. and as he was there you know the Lord was ministering

  86. to him he was there so many things like that

  87. that was not said praise the Lord so it's important

  88. that we pay attention to the things that he has

  89. commanded us to say so Jesus was teaching from

  90. a particular place he was he was teaching from

  91. we said that the Bible that he had was from was

  92. Genesis to Malachi this is what he taught This

  93. is the explanation he was giving people. In Luke

    Luke 24 chapter mention

  94. chapter 24, we saw from verse 24 to 25 to 27,

  95. and 44 to 45, where he was explaining the scriptures.

  96. He was interpreting the scriptures containing

  97. himself. So he took his time to explain to them

  98. the things containing himself. So when he says

  99. that he opened their understanding, he did that

  100. by explanation. Praise the Lord. So how people

  101. can understand is by explanation by you diligently

  102. interpreting the scriptures and we said that

  103. it's important that a believer know how to interpret

  104. the scripture you should strive for it praise

  105. the Lord so that you're not confused so that

  106. when you see somebody confused you are able to

  107. help them praise the Lord so that you do the

  108. work of the Father you do the mandate of God

  109. on the earth when you pay attention to learning

  110. how to interpret and we said that the the church

  111. it should be a place where or should be called

  112. a bible school where the word is taught where

  113. the word is prioritized right praise the lord

  114. where there's not a lot of activities that is

  115. being maybe put there to entertain people praise

  116. the lord it's a place of training so we learn

  117. how to behave or move around in the church and

  118. so we also saw from the scriptures that in that

  119. Luke chapter 24 that he talks about the prophet

    Luke 24 chapter mention

  120. he keeps talking about the prophet and we say

  121. that one of the ways in which or one of the ways

  122. in which the Old Testament was described is what

  123. the book of prophets praise the Lord it is known

  124. as the book of prophets it is a prophetic it

  125. talks about prophetic scriptures in Romans is

  126. a prophetic book so we now said if if the scripture

  127. is talking about or we call it a prophetic book

  128. it therefore means that we need to understand

  129. who then is a prophet praise the lord because

  130. if he's writing prophetic things then he should

  131. be talking about or his content should be about

  132. prophets so if the book is written by prophets

  133. that means that the context of what he's saying

  134. will be about the prophet so who is a prophet?

  135. who is a prophet? So it's a Hebrew word that

  136. is called Nabi, right? N -A -B -I. It means a

  137. spokesperson for a divine being, right? Or somebody

  138. who interprets words of a divine being or a date.

  139. So a prophet is a spokesperson for a divine being.

  140. So growing up, they had the experience to stay

  141. in the village in the east of Nigeria. And before,

  142. there used to be people that would always hit

  143. the hitting... They come to deliver a message,

  144. basically, right? And so they have a particular

  145. type of a wooden drum that they hit. It's not

  146. a drum, but it's made out of wood. Sometimes

  147. they use the... I don't know the English word

  148. for that. But they use it to... They just hit

  149. it, and the more they hit it, what we used to

  150. do is to tell you how this was 2004, right? It

  151. was still happening like that. So they would

  152. hit it, hit it, hit it, and it goes from one

  153. village to the other village, and from every

  154. street, and it just hits it, hits it, hits it.

  155. People just, whatever you do, you just drop.

  156. This is how they pass messages, right? They would

  157. just keep hitting it, keep hitting it, everybody

  158. would keep quiet. that you know the rhythm, when

  159. it stops, then you're not here for what he will

  160. say, right? Tomorrow, there is a meeting in so

  161. -so -and -so place, these people are supposed

  162. to come, that people are supposed to come, that's

  163. how they pass messages. There was no, oh, let

  164. me text this person, let me, do you understand?

  165. It was not far, it was not far, it was not far,

  166. right? Out to you, we started to use phones and

  167. all of those things, right? So, idzi. A prophet

  168. is somebody who speaks. or a spokesperson for

  169. a divine being who interprets the words of a

  170. divine being a deity so on who hears supernaturally

  171. and communicates it naturally praise the lord

  172. somebody who hears supernaturally and communicates

  173. it naturally right so a messenger of supernatural

  174. information if you like an agent praise the lord

  175. so he's somebody who is sent to pass a message

  176. to deliver a message. So which means that the

  177. context of the scriptures is to see that the

  178. scriptures is a conveyor of supernatural information.

  179. The scripture conveys supernatural information.

  180. So if a prophet is somebody who speaks for a

  181. divine being, it therefore means that the scripture

  182. conveys supernatural information. praise the

  183. Lord the prophet conveys the message of the supernatural

  184. job chapter 15 job chapter 15 deal on that prophet

Job 15 chapter mention Job 15 chapter mention

  185. job chapter 15 from a seven to eight he says

    Job 15 chapter mention

  186. are you the first man who was born or were you

  187. made before the hills have you heard the council

  188. of god do you limit wisdom to yourself Praise

  189. the Lord. Have you heard the counsel of God?

  190. So we see Job's friend, Elphas, asking him a

  191. question. So we see also that he described more

  192. like the first man. He says that the first man

  193. is the man that heard the counsel of God. So

  194. we see he's asking his friend, but he's also

  195. saying that the first man is a man that He had

  196. the council of God, right? That council there,

  197. some other scriptures would put it as the secret

  198. of God, right? So that word council in the Hebrew

  199. is the word sod, S -O -D, right? Which means

  200. to be in an assembly. That word council in verse

  201. eight is that have you heard the council of God?

  202. It's the word sod, right? Which means to be in

  203. an assembly. the council of God. He said, have

  204. you heard in the assembly of God or in the fellowship

  205. of God? So we said that the book or the Bible

  206. is known as the book of the prophets, right?

  207. So prophets are special people. They are special

  208. people. But we see that the friend of Job is

  209. saying that the first man we should be the modern

  210. man is someone who had heard in the council of

  211. God or the assembly of God. Genesis chapter 49

    Genesis 49:6

  212. verse 6 Genesis chapter 49 verse 6 it said let

    Genesis 49:6

  213. not my soul enter thy council let not my honor

  214. be united to the assembly for in thy anger thou

  215. slew a man in thy self will thou hamstoon an

  216. ox hamstrong an ox so is that word the assembly

  217. we see there again so it means a special information

  218. within the assembly, a supernatural assembly.

  219. So Elphaz is saying, we know that the first man

  220. had from the assembly of God. Job 29 verse 4.

    Job 29:4

  221. Let's look at those places where this word again

  222. shows up. Job 29 verse 4. Just as I was in the

    Job 29:4

  223. days of my prime, when the friendly counsel of

  224. God was over my fence. So we see that word again,

  225. council. Psalms 55 verse 14. Psalms 55 verse

    Psalms 55:14 Psalms 55:14

  226. 14. We took three councils together and walked

  227. to the house of the Lord in the throne. Praise

  228. the Lord. We see that place again. So that word

  229. throne there is the word company, right? It's

  230. usually talking about assembly. Psalms 89 verse

    Psalms 89:4

  231. 4, verse 7. Psalms 89 verse 7 God is greatly

    Psalms 89:7

  232. to be feared in the assembly of the saints and

  233. to be held in reverence by all those around him.

  234. So we see that word again there Jeremiah chapter

    Jeremiah 6:11

  235. 6 verse 11 Therefore I am full of the fury of

  236. the Lord and weary of holding it in I'll pour

  237. it out on the children outside on the assembly

  238. of young men together for even the husband shall

  239. be taken with the wife and the aged, and the

  240. aged with him who is full of days." So we see

  241. that word again, assembly, there. So what do

  242. we know about the first man? So in Genesis chapter,

  243. where we read chapter 2 and chapter 3, right,

  244. speaking of Adam, right, so we have, we have

  245. a picture of God's will and plan for man. So

  246. when you read Genesis chapter 2, and also Chapter

    Genesis 2 chapter mention

  247. 3, we see God's will and plan for the first man.

  248. So the first thing that we see is that the Garden

  249. of Eden is God's dwelling. The Garden of Eden

  250. is God's dwelling. Man was brought there, which

  251. means that man or mankind find their purpose

  252. in God's dwelling. The first thing that we see

  253. is that the Garden of Eden is God's home. and

  254. it's all his dwelling, right? Man was brought

  255. in there, right? Which means that man or mankind

  256. find his popples in God's dwelling place. So

  257. man starts to live only when he starts functioning

  258. in God's popples or, sorry, he starts functioning

  259. in God's presence or God's dwelling place. Man

  260. starts to live, praise the Lord, man starts to

  261. live when he starts to function in God's presence

  262. or God's dwelling place. The second thing that

  263. we see, Genesis 2 verse 15, he said then the

    Genesis 2:15

  264. Lord took the man and put him in the garden of

  265. Eden to tend it and to keep it, to tend and keep

  266. it. So we see God's purpose for man, he says

  267. that man put him there to tend and to keep it,

  268. that he put him there to dress some other scriptures,

  269. we say to dress and to keep it. So if we keep

  270. reading from Genesis to Exodus, we also see how

  271. Moses, when he was building the tabernacle, what

  272. he gave the priest to do. We see what Moses gave

  273. the priest, what their responsibility was to

  274. do. And part of their responsibility was what

  275. he said for them to dress it. We're going to

  276. see a scripture that talks about that. For them

  277. to dress it. The priest, we have to keep the

  278. tabernacle. the priests were to keep the tabernacle.

  279. So the word, that word, keep it, sorry, that

  280. word, to keep it or to dress it, right, is a

  281. word, adad, right, A -D, sorry, A -B, A -D, right,

  282. we see here is the word to dress it. So man's

  283. purpose was to keep, man's purpose was to be

  284. in God's presence. right or keeper of God's dwelling

  285. place praise the Lord man's purpose was what

  286. to be in God's presence or keeper of God's dwelling

  287. place that is that man has become God has given

  288. man has become it's more like he's supposed to

  289. he's a trustee so God has given him something

  290. to do to keep it to dress it so a minister of

  291. God's dwelling place is to be a minister or a

  292. minister of God's dwelling place if you like

  293. so Adam we can say was a priest because God gave

  294. him something to do and we also saw that Moses

  295. did the same when the priest or the instruction

  296. he gave the priest so Adam was a priest that

  297. is Adam and Eve that is mankind was a priest

  298. so mankind is made to be a priest right to officiate

  299. to minister in God's presence. Mankind is made

  300. to be a priest, to officiate, to be in God's

  301. presence. So let's go back to Job chapter 15.

    Job 15 chapter mention

  302. Job chapter 15. Job chapter 15, verse 7. He said,

Job 15 chapter mention Job 15:7

  303. Are you the first man who was born? Or were you

  304. made before the hills? Have you heard the counsel

  305. of God? Do you limit wisdom? to yourself so the

  306. council of god right that is to hear from god

  307. and interpret it praise the lord to hear from

  308. god and interpret it that is what god's purpose

  309. for mankind was was to be a priest right to be

  310. a prophet to hear and interpret so you can say

  311. that man's purpose or god's purpose for you is

  312. to be his temple we see that in the new testament

  313. to be his temple to be in his temple what we

  314. are meant to do there is to be what to be priest

  315. right and to be prophet and to be his servant

  316. or as the scriptures will say servant king so

  317. god's purpose for you is to be his temple to

  318. be in his temple and what we are supposed to

  319. do there is to be his priest his prophet and

  320. his servants. So your purpose in life is tied

  321. to God's dwelling place. So your purpose in life

  322. is tied to God's dwelling place. That is God's

  323. plan for everyone. Praise the Lord. That is God's

  324. plan for our life. So if you are looking for

  325. purpose, I don't hear that word these days, I

  326. don't know why, right? About two, three years

  327. ago, Everybody is talking about what is your

  328. purpose? What is your purpose? What is your purpose?

  329. There are seminars about purpose. There are so

  330. many things. Praise the Lord. And see it, people

  331. still are looking for, or they still, from all

  332. of those things, don't still find purpose. Or

  333. even if they find, they will change their mind

  334. after some years. Praise the Lord. They will

  335. find new purpose. So, a purpose that does not

  336. change. God's purpose for your life does not

  337. change. is that you should be his priest and

  338. his prophet on the earth to be a spokesperson

  339. to be somebody who will hear and interpret praise

  340. the lord to be somebody who will hear and interpret

  341. so it therefore means that we ought to take the

  342. ministry or the office or the purpose that god

  343. has given us very seriously praise the lord is

  344. to take the purpose that God has given us very

  345. seriously. And how do we do that? We do that

  346. by sitting down, being discipled, and disciple

  347. others. In doing that, we are able to achieve,

  348. or we are able to live in the purpose of God,

  349. to hear from God, and to interpret it, to see

  350. what God is saying every season. As I've said

  351. earlier, a lot of us, almost everybody is in

  352. Cyprus and they are moving. At some point, they

  353. would move to a different location. At some point,

  354. they would move to a different location. It's

  355. not to make the excuse that you were not taught.

  356. Don't make the excuse that you were not equipped.

  357. Don't make the mistake that you are not equipped.

  358. they are not equipped. Because if you see what

  359. is happening around us, whether it be in the

  360. church, whether you're online and you see people

  361. teaching and you see people saying some things,

  362. you know that what this person is saying is not

  363. sound. Praise the Lord. So for you to identify

  364. that which is not sound, it means that you have

  365. been trained. Praise the Lord. It means that

  366. you are in a position where you also can be a

  367. good teacher of the world praise the Lord where

  368. you can be a good teacher of the world so it's

  369. not to it's not to go and say okay the things

  370. that happened to me in Cyprus where the four

  371. years was it's just four years I just went there

  372. to school and I finished and you know let's just

  373. continue let's just continue what we are hearing

  374. before praise the Lord is to be a priest of God

  375. on the earth so we see also see that in, I think

  376. it was in John, in John chapter 17, we see the

    John 17 chapter mention

  377. prayers of Jesus for all believers. John chapter

    John 17:20

  378. 17 verse 20. He says, I do not pray for these

  379. alone, but also those who would believe in me

  380. through their words, that they all may be one

  381. as you, Father, and in me, and I in you, and

  382. that They also may be one in us that the world

  383. may believe that you sent me praise the Lord

  384. So Jesus is saying he's making a prayer, right?

  385. And he says what I pray for this but for those

  386. who will believe He's saying that so the prayer

  387. he's praying is for not just his disciples Right,

  388. but the people that will believe later on but

  389. then he's not praying for those people to believe

  390. to believe He's saying that they will believe

  391. because of what? because these ones here are

  392. going to do something. Praise the Lord. These

  393. ones here, these ones that are listening to him

  394. here, these ones that are listening here are

  395. going to do, he said they are going to believe

  396. what, through what their words. They are going

  397. to believe in him through what their words. So

  398. Jesus is sure that his disciples are going to

  399. carry on the mandate. Praise the Lord. He is

  400. very sure that these people are, so he's saying

  401. that they may be one. Praise the Lord. That they

  402. may be united that they may be in unity but he

  403. knows that his disciples are going to do the

  404. work in which he has sent them to do praise the

  405. lord his disciples are going to do the same thing

  406. that he has instructed them to do so god is trusting

  407. and god knows that you are the person who is

  408. also supposed to what to continue to teach the

  409. word another person man was talking about evangelism

  410. and he was saying that sometimes the reason why

  411. we don't evangelism is because there is anxiety

  412. there is fear there is what would a person say

  413. if they ask me this question it's usually us

  414. just limiting ourselves right we are afraid of

  415. something praise the lord but if only you know

  416. how equipped you are if only you know how equipped

  417. you are if only you can see how God has said

  418. that the things that you have is sufficient enough.

  419. The teaching that you have received is sufficient

  420. enough for you to go about your day and in your

  421. busyness, in the schedules that you have, to

  422. still see someone and say, oh, let me speak to

  423. this person about Christ. Praise the Lord. Let

  424. me speak to this person about Christ. Let me

  425. explain the scriptures to somebody. If only you

  426. allow yourself to see how equipped God has equipped

  427. you. How God has enabled you. Not just through

  428. the power of the Holy Spirit, but through the

  429. discipleship that you have received. Through

  430. the instructions that you have received. Through

  431. the learning and the teaching that you have gone

  432. through. Praise the Lord. So he prays and is

  433. assured that the people will believe because

  434. of the words that these people are going to speak.

  435. So God believes that People are going to be transformed

  436. by the word that you are saying to them. So why

  437. are you anxious? Praise the Lord. Why are you

  438. anxious about it? Why are you thinking too much

  439. about it? So today we're going to pray. We're

  440. going to pray for everything that we have heard

  441. throughout this whole teaching about what makes

  442. the Christian gathering a supernatural one. We're

  443. going to pray that God would enable us God will

  444. give us boldness. God will give us strength.

  445. God would also increase this church. Praise the

  446. Lord. God will also increase this church. Even

  447. as Jesus was praying, he prayed for those who

  448. will believe. So what you're praying also, you're

  449. also praying for those who will also, in 10 years,

  450. in 20 years, be sitting where you are or in a

  451. better place in this camp. Praise the Lord. You're

  452. also praying that the world that they will be

  453. hearing will not be the watered -down world praise

  454. the Lord that they would continue to hear the

  455. sound doctrine of Christ that any CF will continue

  456. whether the lead pastor is currently around or

  457. is not around whether the people that started

  458. the walk were around or not around that the church

  459. will continue to grow right also for your life

  460. that you will continue to grow I said something

  461. within the week that God expects us to carry

  462. out this mandate Praise the Lord. That the people

  463. around us, that are families, that are friends,

  464. will hear the gospel through us. That the busyness

  465. of life, somebody said, I saw something online,

  466. it was like, you think that maybe like school

  467. is, when you're in school, you think it's stressful.

  468. You say wait until you graduate, then maybe you

  469. find out what stress is about, or, praise the

  470. Lord. So, that's why some people... My desire

  471. is that they want to continue school. Praise

  472. the Lord. That the business of life will not

  473. make you, you know sometimes your responsibilities

  474. will increase. You have children, you have things

  475. to take care of, you have parents that are maybe

  476. growing old and they need attention and time

  477. and resources and everything. And you're just

  478. thinking about many things that you forget to

  479. preach the gospel. That you just, you know what?

  480. We used to do that. Praise the Lord. So I just

  481. want us to rise up on our feet. We appreciate

  482. you being here today. We hope you carry this

  483. word with you throughout your week. Don't forget

  484. to check the show notes for additional insights.
