Welcome to NECF Sermons. Each message here is
-
designed to uplift and strengthen you in your
-
walk with God. Don't miss out. Stay with us until
-
the end for a rewarding experience. Let's dive
-
right in. of the Son of the Holy Spirit, teaching
-
them to observe all things that I've commanded
-
you and lo, I'm with you always, even to the
-
end of the age. Praise the Lord. And on Sunday,
-
we started teaching the union of the Spirit that
-
we have. And we're going to continue that today.
-
And we said that we answered the question why
-
Jesus was telling them to preach the gospel to
-
all nations. Praise the Lord. Because that has
-
always been His original plan. That has always
-
been the intention of God. Praise the Lord. And
-
we looked at other scriptures that were saying
-
also the same thing that he was telling them.
-
Praise the Lord. That other scriptures that would
-
say beginning at Jerusalem, right? And in Judea
-
and in Samaria and all the earth. And we said,
-
why did he tell them to begin at Jerusalem? And
-
we said, because Jerusalem... as a message praise
-
the lord jerusalem has a message and that message
-
is about the kingdom of god the message of peace
-
praise the lord so beginning at jerusalem we
-
said was signifying the kind of message that
-
was coming the kind of message that was coming
-
and we also looked at the world in detail the
-
nations to see that that had always been gospel
-
and jesus started His ministry, right, from Galilee
-
of the Gentiles or the nations, right? And also,
-
he was also telling them that he should meet
-
at a mountain which was in Galilee. Praise the
-
Lord. Also signifying that his message was for
-
everybody. So today we're going to continue with
-
what we have started and we're going to look
-
at a few other things that point to God's original
-
plan. Praise the Lord. Before we start to talk
-
about the spirit within us, or the spirit that
-
we have, or the spirit that we enjoy, we need
-
to look at other things that tells us about God's
-
plan for the nations, or for everyone. Praise
-
the Lord. So, in verse 20 of Matthew chapter
Matthew 28 chapter mention
-
28, it says, The things that he has taught them,
-
he taught them from the scriptures. Praise the
-
Lord. The things that he has told them, it is
-
from the scriptures. Praise the Lord. He was
-
not telling them something abstract. They were
-
not going to look for something that is not there.
-
And he says what? That he should teach them to
-
observe the things he has commanded them and
-
lo and with you always. So the word unto the
-
end of the world is the word Suntalia. S -U -N
-
-T -E -L -I -A. Praise the Lord. and it is used
-
in matthew very often and we as a church and
-
as a cell meeting we have been dealing with it
-
the end of the age praise the lord we have dealt
-
with this word several times so i believe that
-
we all know what it is but just look at a few
-
references from the end of the age or end of
-
the world matthew chapter 13 verse 39 matthew
-
chapter 13 verse 39 he says the enemy who saw
-
them is the devil and the harvest is to the end
-
of the age and the reapers are the angels he's
-
asking what the end of the age matthew 13 40
-
the 40 now therefore the towels are gathered
-
and born into the fire so it will be at the end
-
of the age verse 49 so it will be at the end
-
of the age that the angels will come forth and
-
separate the wicked among the just praise the
-
lord so judgment he says is happening at the
-
end of the age Hebrews chapter 9. Hebrews chapter
Hebrews 9 chapter mention Hebrews 9:26
-
9 verse 26. He then would have had to suffer
-
often since the foundation of the world. But
-
now once at the end of the age, he has appeared
-
to put away sins by the suffering of himself.
-
Praise the Lord. The end of the age, right? Is
-
he saying it is done? Is he saying, okay, after
-
this thing now it's finished? Is that what he's
-
saying from everything that we have? learned
-
from everything that we have studied telling
-
you is he rapture is he talking about the everything
-
is finished praise the lord that's not where
-
we learned we can we we learned that it is not
-
gone yet praise the lord and what is not done
-
that the the word has not ended praise the lord
-
the rapture had not happened if you like praise
-
the lord and for some of you who have not been
-
here we also mentioned that you can never find
-
the word rapture In the English translation of
-
the Bible, it is not there. Praise the Lord.
-
So what does the end of the age mean? If it means
-
that it's not done. If it means it's not the
-
end. Praise the Lord. So the word refers to the
-
fulfillment of a promise. Praise the Lord. We're
-
not going to go into details. Like I said, we
-
have learned this thing from ourselves. It means
-
the fulfillment of a promise. to meet a target
-
or a goal praise the lord i am with you always
-
until the end so if you if you put the word fulfillment
-
in india what you will find is that it will look
-
like i am with you always until the fulfillment
-
of the world praise the lord and it's the same
-
place where we find or where eternal life is
-
praise the lord it is the offspring of what we
-
known as eternal life praise the lord so we also
-
see that eternal life is also found in the old
-
testament text it's not something that is also
-
new right so eternal life simply means the age
-
or time of the promised one praise the lord the
-
age or the time of the promised one the age of
-
the messiah praise the lord the end of the age
-
the end the age of the messiah is something that
-
the jews have been looking forward to The promise
-
or the age of the Messiah. The promise of the
-
age. It deals with the promise that is now fulfilled.
-
At that time, it was regarded as for all, it
-
is fulfilled. But at that time, it was the expected
-
one. It was something that they were expecting.
-
Praise the Lord. The time of the expected one.
-
Lo, I'm with you always until the end of the
-
age. So when we say eternal life, at that time,
-
at this time, it is fulfilled. but it was something
-
that the jews were expecting they were expecting
-
a messiah like i said so more like they are waiting
-
for a deliverer as we read in in isaiah praise
-
the lord the age of the expected one so for the
-
jews at this time that age is to come that age
-
is what they are looking forward to i'm just
-
saying so many things that i would really understand
-
the expected one the age that is to come but
-
to us is the age that we are in now praise the
-
lord It's the age that we are in right now. It
-
is what we enjoy. Eternal life is what we have
-
and what we are. The expected one. So we'll look
-
at why some of the Jews had challenge or they
-
have serious problems with how Jesus came. Praise
-
the Lord. Or the kind of things that Jesus was
-
doing. Praise the Lord. They had an expectation.
-
Remember when we read in Acts where they were
-
asking him, would he at this time give the kingdom
-
to Israel? Remember, they said that they misinterpreted
-
it. Praise the Lord. And he told them no. Praise
-
the Lord. He told them no, that it's not for
-
you to know the time that is in the Father's
-
hands. Praise the Lord. You shall receive what?
-
Power when the Holy Ghost has come. So he's telling
-
them this is their life. This is what is expected.
-
You will receive power. Praise the Lord. He's
-
telling them this is what has always been promised.
-
So we want to look at why were they so expecting?
-
Or why even to today? Some people still having
-
some type of mentality towards what that which
-
Christ has done. Why did the Jews have challenge?
-
They were expecting the Messiah. So that is what
-
Apostle Paul will often call, they were offended.
-
Praise the Lord. It's the offense that they have.
-
So reading as we have read last week, Isaiah
-
and Psalms, right? They were expecting somebody,
-
yes? They were expecting the Messiah to come.
-
They were expecting a kingdom. praise the lord
-
they were expecting a king to come they were
-
expecting like i said a deliverer somebody that
-
would come and save them praise the lord they
-
were expecting a savior somebody would come as
-
a king and he would deliver them from the oppressions
-
that he had so what were the challenges that
-
he had so let's go again to matthew chapter 21
-
verse 13 matthew chapter 21 verse 13 and he said
-
to them it is written my house shall be a house
-
of prayers but you have made it a den of thieves
-
my house shall be called the house of prayer
-
but you have made it a den of thieves mark 11
-
speaking of the same thing mark 11 17 then he
-
taught them saying is he not meeting my house
-
shall be called the house of prayer for all nations
-
praise the lord let's take note of that he said
-
for all nations but you have made it a den of
-
thieves praise the lord so even before the fulfillment
-
he was still telling them the intention of god
-
he said it's for all nations remember some people
-
were not permitted to be here or to be in this
-
house some people were not expected to be in
-
this house and the background of this scripture
-
was that they were changing money they were doing
-
a lot of business in the in the in the temple
-
john chapter 2 verse 16 speaking still talking
-
about the same thing and he said to those who
-
sold those take these things away do not make
-
my father's house the house of my children praise
-
the lord God make it a marketplace, right? And
-
again, remember, he says that this is speaking
-
of the temple, that the temple is his father's
-
house. Praise the Lord. The temple is his father's
-
house. Now, this is where the challenge starts,
-
right? To happen. Verse 19. And Jesus said to
-
them, answered and said to them, destroy this
-
temple and in three days you will raise it up
-
again. Raise it up. Praise the Lord. This is
-
where the challenges start to happen. So we're
-
going to come back to this. Destroy this temple
-
and I will raise it up again. So my father's
-
house, the temple, he says destroy it and in
-
three days I will raise it up again. So in Matthew,
-
in Matthew 11, verse 17, he says what? He says
-
it should be a house of prayers for all nations,
-
for everybody. In Matthew 21, verse 13, he says
-
that you have made it. a den of thieves you have
-
changed it to something else what was the challenge
-
they were having they were expecting a messiah
-
but they had a big problem and we see even the
-
black blind batmios said to jesus in mark 11
-
47 he said oh jesus christ son of david praise
-
the lord he called jesus the son of david the
-
one that they are expecting he said what have
-
mercy on me Mark 11, 47. John chapter 4, verse
-
29. Speaking of the Samaritan woman, right? She
-
said, could this be the Christ? Could this be
-
the Christ? I come to see a man who told me all
-
things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?
-
Where did their offense come from? They even
-
asked Jesus during his trial, he said what? Are
-
you the Christ? Praise the Lord. Are you the
-
Christ? This was the question they asked him
-
in Matthew chapter 22. Let's go to verse 42 now.
Matthew 22 chapter mention
-
Matthew 22, verse 42. To see what Jesus said
-
to them. Matthew chapter 22, verse 42. Saying,
-
what do you think about the Christ? Whose son
-
is he? And they said to him, the son of David.
-
Remember the blind man. He said what? Jesus,
-
son of David, have mercy upon me. He said to
-
them, how then does David... in the spirit call
-
him lord saying the lord said to my lord sit
-
at my right hand till i make your enemy your
-
future if david then called him lord how is he
-
his son praise the lord so he was asking them
-
question that they could not answer praise the
-
lord but remember they told him that what that
-
he's a son of david that christ is the son of
-
david and this is this reference is in psalms
-
110 verse 1. verse 45 said if david then called
-
him lord how is he his son so we see some of
-
the challenges that they begin to have so last
-
on sunday we read isaiah's right and so when
-
you think about the promise of the christ or
-
the promise of the savior or the thing that the
-
the jews were expecting you'll find that in isaiah
Isaiah 40 chapter mention
-
chapter 40 you find that in isaiah chapter 42
Isaiah 42 chapter mention
-
you'll find it in 49 you'll find it in 52 but
-
then When you go to 53, right, it's also where
-
they begin to also have challenges. Praise the
-
Lord. You will also find it in 44, in 55. So
-
right in the middle of it, it talks about something
-
different that doesn't look like a savior. Praise
-
the Lord. Just take your time and read it. Isaiah
Isaiah 40 chapter mention
-
chapter 40, Isaiah chapter 42, 43, 40, 52, and
Isaiah 42 chapter mention
-
then you have 53. And then read 40, 55, and then
-
54. But then 53 is where they started having
-
the Ethiopian Union. Well, that was where his
-
challenge was. Praise the Lord. Remember the
-
Christian he was asking? Acts chapter 8 from
Acts 8 chapter mention
-
verse 30 to 34. Is he speaking of himself or
-
another? Praise the Lord. So Philip ran to him
-
and had him reading from the prophet Isaiah and
-
said, Do you understand what you are reading?
-
And he said to him, How can I unless somebody
-
guide me? And he asked Philip to come up and
-
sit with him. And the place in the scripture
-
where he read was this. He was laid as a sheep
-
to the slaughter. As a lamb before a herder is
-
silent. He opened not his mouth. Verse 3. In
-
humiliation, his justice was taken away. Who
-
would declare his generation? For his life is
-
taken from the earth. Now, this is the question
-
he asked him. So the eunuch answered Philip and
-
said, I ask you, of whom does the prophet say
-
this? Of himself or some other man? Praise the
-
Lord. Even him is confused. Praise the Lord.
-
Maybe he has read 52. Praise the Lord. And maybe
-
he has seen some glamorous things, right, of
-
what the Savior will be like. And then he comes
-
to, that is Isaiah, he comes to 53, and then
-
he begins to have challenge as well. right you
-
say is he speaking of himself of another man
-
so right in the middle of these things of Isaiah
Isaiah 40 chapter mention
-
chapter 40 to 55 right we have 53 praise the
-
Lord so let's go to Isaiah 53 Isaiah 53 verse
-
1 say who has believed our report to whom has
-
the arm of the Lord being revealed praise the
-
Lord what report is he asking about right what
-
is this report who has believed our report to
-
whom are the arm of the lord will reveal right
-
this is where their offense is praise the lord
-
so isaiah 53 right is what is the faith of the
-
believer praise the lord what is the offense
-
of the jews praise the lord the all nations are
-
glad about 53 praise the lord all nations are
-
glad about 53 galilee of the gentiles are glad
-
about 53 for the jews are offended by it so let's
-
look at verse 3 verse 2 now but he grew up but
-
he shall grow up before him as a tender plant
-
as a root out of a dry ground he has no form
-
or cornyness and when we see him there is no
-
beauty that we should desire him praise the lord
-
speaking of the messiah verse 33 now history
-
sorry he was despised rejected of men a man of
-
sorrow acquainted with grief as it were Our faces
-
from him. He was despised and we do not esteem
-
him. Praise the Lord. Verse 4. Surely he bore
-
our grief and carried our sorrow. Yet we esteem
-
him stricken, smitten by God and afflicted. Verse
-
5. He was wounded for our transgression. He was
-
bruised for our iniquities. The chastisement
-
of our peace was upon him. By his strife we were
-
healed. Verse 6. We all like sheep have gone
-
astray. We have turned everyone to his own way.
-
and the lord has laid on him the iniquity of
-
the seven now so we see this is where the e -mail
-
started having this way he was reading and he
-
started having the problem praise the lord he
-
was oppressed he was afflicted yet he opened
-
not his mouth was led as a lamb to the slaughter
-
as a sheep before his share is sailing he opened
-
not his mouth so this is where we saw in acts
-
chapter 8 verse 32 that he was having the issues
-
with him he was taken from prison and from judgment
-
who would declare his generation but he was cut
-
off from the land of the living for the transgression
-
of my people he was stricken they made his grave
-
with the wicked but with the rich at his death
-
because he has done no violence nor was any deceit
-
in his mouth yet he pleased the lord To bruise
-
him. He has put him to grief. When you make his
-
soul. As an offering for sin. He shall see. Now
-
let's pay attention to this. He shall see his
-
seed. And will prolong his days. And the pleasure
-
of the Lord. Shall prosper in his hands. Verse
-
11. He shall see the labor of his soul. And be
-
satisfied. By his knowledge. My righteous servant.
-
Shall justify many. For he shall bear their iniquity.
-
Praise the Lord. This. He shall bear their iniquity.
-
Praise the Lord. He's also a problem. Praise
-
the Lord. Because the king cannot, obviously,
-
bear your iniquity. The king who is coming cannot,
-
after all this suffering, bear your iniquity.
-
Praise the Lord. So we see some of the things
-
that they were having. This is their offense.
-
Who would believe our report? Verse 1. So we
-
have spoken of Jerusalem, Zion, right? Behold
-
your God, he comes with all his glory. We see
-
that in Isaiah. We have read it before. And then
-
all of a sudden, you are hearing afflicted. he's
-
afflicted praise the lord before now he was behold
-
your god he comes in his glory and then we come
-
to 65 you're done hearing he was afflicted praise
-
the lord so it's something that they cannot wrap
-
their minds around how can a king be afflicted
-
praise the lord they have forgotten what jerusalem
-
means what melchizedek means praise the lord
-
who will believe our report verse 1 of that is
-
53 who will believe our report so That word,
-
report, a report is a word, a man, a man. It's
-
the same word that is used for when Abraham believed
-
God. Praise the Lord. And it was accounted for
-
him for righteousness. Genesis chapter 15, verse
-
6. Abraham believed in the Lord and it was accounted
-
for him for righteousness. It's a word, belief.
-
And then, do not forget that first, righteousness
-
was first described, who was first described
-
to be righteous? Before Abraham. Melchizedek.
-
Praise the Lord. Before Abraham. Who has believed
-
our report. To believe. So let's run through
-
this. Genesis chapter 42 verse 20. So thy word
-
shall be verified. The word verified there. In
-
Genesis chapter 42 verse 20. To bring your strongest
-
brothers to me. So your word will be verified.
-
And you shall not die. And they did so. That
-
place verified is the word. A man is the same
-
word as believe. Genesis 45 verse 26. It's also
-
the word believe not or believe. He said, and
-
they said to him saying, Joseph is still alive.
-
He's the governor over the land of Egypt. And
-
Jacob had stood still because he did not believe
-
them. Did not believe them is the same word there.
-
So to believe is used for somebody bringing a
-
report to you. Praise the Lord. Did you believe
-
the report that was told you? don't need to read
-
this i'll just list it for us exodus chapter
-
4 verse 5 verse 8 verse 9 and verse 31 we'll
-
see the word believe there right you see the
-
word believe that they may believe that the lord
-
god of our fathers praise the lord is the word
-
a man in exodus 14 verse 31 exodus 14 verse 31
-
because israel saw the great walk which the lord
-
had done in egypt so the people fear the lord
-
and believe the lord and his servant moses is
-
the word believed there exodus 19 verse 19 remember
-
in the wilderness the people did not believe
-
god we also did these studies they didn't believe
-
what was preached to them exodus 19 verse 9 so
-
is the word believe you forever in that place
-
numbers 14 verse 11 you see that same word there
-
Deuteronomy 1 .32. Deuteronomy 1 .32. Deuteronomy
-
9 .23. Now, let's look at another way apart from
-
believe in which it is used. Numbers 12 .7. It
-
says, Not so with my servant Moses is faithful
-
in all my house. This word faithful is that same
-
word a man, right? To believe. It's also used
-
at faithful. Praise the Lord. It's the same word
-
that is also found in the New Testament as pistis.
-
right is the word pistis which is which appears
-
a lot of time too as faith right as faithfulness
-
so to believe right means to be faithful to be
-
trusting or trustworthy that what a man means
-
to what to be faithful to be trusting or trustworthy
-
in Deuteronomy 7 9. so the word Belief, or the
-
word aman, is also used to be faithful, trusting,
-
and betrusting. Like I said, this is a word that
-
is used in the Old Testament, right, as pistis.
-
P -I -S, P -I -S. It is used about, roughly about,
-
243 times in the New Testament. Praise the Lord.
-
In Romans, in Hebrews, in the Epistles, right?
-
It is used to describe us, and it's also used
-
to describe God. It means to believe. God is
-
faithful, right? We describe God as a faithful
-
God, right? Is that what Christ is or a man in
-
the Old Testament? Which means we believe in
-
God who is faithful and we become faithful. Or
-
you can write, our faith is in a faithful God
-
and that makes us faithful men. Our faith is
-
in a faithful God and that makes us faithful
-
men. Remember where we are coming from. Who has
-
believed our report in Isaiah 53? So, who has
-
believed our report in Isaiah 53 verse 1 is,
-
who has believed in the faithfulness of God and
-
is faithful to his message? Praise the Lord.
-
Who has believed our report? Right? He said,
-
to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?
-
What he's saying is that who has believed in
-
the faithfulness of God and is faithful to his
-
message? Our report. So the word report is shemua.
-
S -H -E -M -U -A. It means to announce. Praise
-
the Lord. We are dealt with the word belief,
-
right? We said it's the word aman. It means faithful,
-
right? And we said that it is to believe in a
-
faithful God and to be faithful to his message.
-
The word report is the word shemua, which means
-
to announce. So you believe what someone said
-
about someone. Faith in somebody who is faithful.
-
Praise the Lord. Faith in someone. who is faithful
-
so let's go back to where i said we should pay
-
attention to which is verse 10 of isaiah 53 that
-
talks about he will see his seed and prolong
-
his days yet he pleased the lord to bruise him
-
he has put him to grief when he makes his soul
-
an offering for sin for he shall see his seed
-
and will prolong his days and the pleasure of
-
the lord will prosper in his hands praise the
-
lord is the word zebra right that word he shall
-
see his sea is a word zed and prolong his days
-
now to prolong his days is the word ar right
-
to prolong his days means to continue praise
-
the lord to prolong these days means to continue
-
his days what did after jesus resurrected did
-
we see him believable in the natural 133 years
-
praise the lord what is he prolonging what is
-
he prolonging what does he see zero means his
-
days remember we talked about eternal life right
-
So the time of the Savior. The time of the Savior.
-
So he will sit with me and prolong his days.
-
So what is he prolonging? So he's prolonging
-
Christ's dominion. Praise the Lord. He's prolonging
-
Christ's dominion. He's prolonging Christ's ministry.
-
Praise the Lord. He's prolonging Christ's ministry.
-
His dominion. His character. His teaching. This
-
is what is called eternal life. To prolong his
-
activity. The seed there is what the church is.
-
He will prolong his days. He will see his seed
-
and prolong his days. So eternal life is the
-
age and the time of the Messiah in the church
-
and the church in the Messiah. Eternal life is
-
the activity of Christ after or upon his redirection.
-
So remember we said that he said his father's
-
house, the temple is his father's house. So therefore,
-
the temple there is also a parable. Praise the
-
Lord. He was trying to teach them something.
-
The temple there is also a parable. Praise the
-
Lord. And as we have known, and we have logically
-
asked the question, would he build a temple in
-
three days? Is he talking about a physical temple?
-
Praise the Lord. And we said, no, that's not
-
what he means. Praise the Lord. We have been
-
caught that. So the temple there for the year
-
is a parable. 19, right? 19 jesus answered and
-
said they share this temple and in three days
-
i will raise it up praise the lord so he's not
-
talking about what he's not telling them this
-
temple praise the lord he's talking about what
-
will happen at his resurrection the activities
-
of christ upon the resurrection so the temple
-
so the first thing we saw that he does is that
-
he he drove everybody that was selling and buying
-
from the temple praise the lord so everything
-
that he did before then and after then right
-
was pointing to his resurrection praise the lord
-
every of his activity as he entered the temple
-
was pointing to his resurrection and eternal
-
life so what he did before he entered the temple
-
and what he did afterwards is very important
-
it is written my father's house shall be a house
-
of prayer what did we say the house there was
-
it's a victim what is the house there praise
-
the lord is a house of prayer for all nations
-
but you have made it a den of thieves my father's
-
house shall be a house for all nations praise
-
the lord my father's house shall be a house remember
-
he said what was the promise that abraham believed
-
praise the lord that was in him shall all the
-
nation of the earth be blessed praise the lord
-
so when jesus is saying my father's house shall
-
be a house of prayer for all nations he is saying
-
that which has been said from the beginning so
-
says the lord keep justice and do righteousness
-
for my salvation is about to come and my righteousness
-
to be revealed blessed is a man who does this
-
and the son of man who lay hold on this on this
-
on it who keeps from defiling the sabbath and
-
keeps his hand from doing any evil do not let
-
the son of the foreigner who has joined himself
-
to the lord say the lord has utterly separated
-
me from his people nor let the eunuch say here
-
i am a dry tree praise the lord they should not
-
feel segregated or different Praise the Lord.
-
Verse 4 now. Who keeps my servant and shows what
-
pleases me and hold fast to my covenant? That
-
is, he's talking to those who are coming in.
-
Remember, at this time, there were some people
-
that were not allowed to be in the temple. Verse
-
5. Even to them, I will give what? My house.
-
Praise the Lord. So this is where Jesus was teaching
-
them from. That what? My Father's house shall
-
be a house of prayer for all nations. For you
-
have made it a den of thieves. Even them, I will
-
give my house. within my walls the place and
-
the name sons and daughters i will give them
-
an everlasting name that they shall not be cut
-
off everyone who keeps on defiling the sabbath
-
and hold my covenant was certain even them i
-
will bring to my holy mountain i will make them
-
joyful in my house of prayers their bones offering
-
and the sacrifice will be accepted at my altar
-
for my house shall be what called the house of
-
prayer For all nations. Praise the Lord. All
-
nations. Jews and Gentiles. Hallelujah. Praise
-
the Lord. I would raise it up. Right? In John
-
chapter 2 verse 19. That is to restore. Right?
-
He's restoring the promise that is made to Abraham.
-
So what we see in Mark chapter 11. Matthew chapter
Mark 11 chapter mention Matthew 22 chapter mention
-
22. John chapter 2. My house. The house of the
John 2 chapter mention
-
Lord. Matthew chapter 21. Now at resurrection.
Matthew 21 chapter mention
-
It will welcome everybody inside. There will
-
not be strangers anymore. Praise the Lord. And
-
we see that even before it becomes a reality,
-
Christ has done some practice. He has practiced
-
some things, which we also studied before now.
-
Praise the Lord. By the healing that he healed
-
in the temple. Praise the Lord. We have done
-
these studies. Matthew 21, verse 13. It is written,
-
My house shall be called the house of prayers,
-
but you have made it a den of thieves. Do not
-
forget all nations. right verse 14 now then the
-
lame then the blind and the lame came to him
-
in the temple and he healed them praise the lord
-
he healed them so the lame and the blind were
-
not allowed in the temple before so they came
-
to him in the temple and he healed them right
-
in doing this or in healing them what he's saying
-
is that you are all welcome to this place praise
-
the lord it is a house for all nations so the
-
physical temple We say it is a parable, right?
-
A parable of what? Right? The people. Praise
-
the Lord. The people. When God builds his temple,
-
he builds men. Praise the Lord. When God builds
-
his temple, he builds men. Why did he use the
-
temple? I think we have also done these studies.
-
We said that some of the things that happened
-
in the Old Testament, God allowed them. Praise
-
the Lord. He did not approve those things. He
-
allowed them. Men had cultures. Remember, Abraham
-
was what? He came from a pagan background. All
-
the Chaldeans. Praise the Lord. There were so
-
many things that God allowed. Praise the Lord.
-
So, this temple was a borrowed culture. Praise
-
the Lord. Now, why is that a borrowed culture?
-
So, we observe that when Moses was building the
-
tabernacle of God, right? God said he should
-
build it according to his plan. Why? Because
-
these people understand what temples are. They
-
had a culture. They were something they were
-
coming from. They had idols. They had idol worship.
-
Exodus chapter 25 verse 40. To build it according
-
to his own pattern. Because the temple, right,
-
was in their culture. Praise the Lord. The temple
-
was in their culture. They had their temples.
-
They had their sacrifice. They had the place
-
of idols. They already have that. Praise the
-
Lord. That's why Abraham, They did not build
-
any temple. Neither did Isaac nor Jacob. Right?
-
We will see what Jacob did. Genesis 28, 19. And
-
he called the name of the place Bethel. And the
-
name of that city had been loosed previously.
-
Praise the Lord. Bethel. Bethel. Right? It means
-
what? The house of God. The house of God. The
-
16th. Then Jacob awoke from his sleep and said,
-
Surely the Lord is in this place. And I did not
-
know it. Praise the Lord. The Lord is in this
-
place and I do not know it. But did you notice
-
that if you read, he did not say, let's call,
-
you know, Mr. Gabriel works in a construction
-
company, right? He said, let's call Mr. Gabriel,
-
let him come and build a structure here for us.
-
The Lord is here. He didn't look for an architect.
-
He didn't look for an engineer to come and say,
-
come and build something for us here. Praise
-
the Lord, because he knows, he has knowledge.
-
Praise the Lord. He knows. He didn't get an architect.
-
So, the idea of calling a place, let's say, the
-
temple, or let's say the house of God, was something
-
that was borrowed. It's a borrowed concept. So,
-
but God accommodated it because of his love and
-
his grace. Verse 17 says, And he was afraid and
-
said, How autumn is this place? There is no other
-
than the house of the Lord and the gates of heaven.
-
Praise the Lord. Like I said, do not come and
-
start laying blocks. for the gate of heaven the
-
house of the lord this is the gate of heaven
-
why did they call it the gates of heaven look
-
at rest verse 2 now why do you call it gate of
-
heaven they didn't just manufacture that like
-
in genesis 28 then he dreamt and behold the ladder
-
was set up on the earth and the top reached the
-
heavens there the angel of the lord we are sending
-
and descending praise the lord why did he call
-
it the gate of heaven why because there is an
-
entrance in his dream He saw that there was an
-
entrance, right? Like a staircase. It's this
-
same word that we find in Genesis 11, talking
-
about the Tower of Babel. Praise the Lord. They
-
were building something to the Lord, the Tower
-
of Babel. It's a place of worship. Let's read
-
from verse 12 to 13 now. Genesis 20. Okay, verse
-
13. And behold, the Lord stood above it and said,
-
I'm the Lord God of Abraham, your father, the
-
God of Isaac, the land which you lie. I will
-
give to you and your descendants. Verse 14. And
-
your descendants shall be as the dust of the
-
earth, and they shall spread abroad to the east,
-
to the west, to the east, to the north, to the
-
south. And you and your seed, all families of
-
the earth, shall be blessed. Praise the Lord.
-
Seeing another plan of God on the earth, house
-
of the Lord. So we say that the temple is a parable.
-
So Jesus used their practice to teach. Praise
-
the Lord. When he says, destroy this temple in
-
three days, he was using what they know of to
-
teach. So God uses their practice to teach them
-
his plan and his purpose. He uses illustration.
-
Praise the Lord. So we need to pay attention
-
to these things. So that somebody will not say,
-
until you come to this altar, you will not be
-
blessed. Praise the Lord. There are a lot of
-
things like that. Or somebody will say that,
-
I will not allow anybody on my altar. Praise
-
the Lord. There's so many, as the word would
-
say, charlatans that use those words. Moses started
-
by what? We see that Moses started by using tabernacles.
-
He was moving houses from tent to tent. And then
-
the temple is a parable. So we have looked at
-
all these things. Praise the Lord. Right? Now
-
we're going to focus in our next teaching where
-
we have the time about what? The word became
-
flesh. Praise the Lord. The union of the spirits
-
that we have. The word became flesh. Hallelujah.
-
And dwelt among us. God dwelling among us. John
-
chapter 1 verse 14. He said the word became flesh
-
and dwelt among us. And we beheld his glory.
-
The glory as of the only begotten of the father.
-
Full of grace and truth. The flesh. He became
-
flesh and dwelt among us. So the word that was
-
used for dwelt is tabarako. Right? He dwelt among
-
us. He tabernacled among us. And we beheld his
-
glory. Right? That is the temple language. Praise
-
the Lord. Remember what was happening in the
-
Old Testament. We beheld his glory. This thing
-
you're seeing is temple language. The glory as
-
the only begotten of the Father. Full of grace
-
and truth. In temple language. So what he says,
-
destroy this temple and in three days we will
-
raise it up again. Right? What? In three days
-
he will raise it up what? for the Jew and for
-
the Gentiles. Hallelujah. And everybody will
-
be welcome in the inside of it. Praise the Lord.
-
I would raise it up. Praise the Lord. I will
-
restore God's plan and purpose. I will restore
-
the house of God for all nations. Let me just
-
rise up on our feet and just thank God. for what
