Welcome to NECF Sermons Each message here is
-
designed to uplift and strengthen you in your
-
walk with God Don't miss out, stay with us until
-
the end for a rewarding experience Let's dive
-
right in So our teaching this morning is continuing
-
from where we stopped the last time which is
-
faith for evangelism the fruit of our preaching
-
in the life of people you know what pastor victor
-
said is actually something that is a burden has
-
been a burden and i believe we will see the fruits
-
you know that there'll be a time when we'll have
-
gatherings of believers in christ there will
-
not just be us alone but people of this yun,
-
yun, yun, yun, yun, yun, yun, yun, yun, yun,
-
yun, yun, yun, yun, yun, yun, yun, yun, yun,
-
yun, yun, yun, yun, yun, yun, yun, yun, yun,
-
yun, yun, yun, yun, yun, yun, yun, yun, yun,
-
yun, yun, yun. yun yun yun yun yun yun yun yun
-
yun but the circumstances that would pray for
-
much more that they will lead the proclamation
-
of the gospel on this island that is the impact
-
that that makes there's a difference that that
-
makes so let her be abiding you know let her
-
be abiding all right so faith for evangelism
-
and i think this is the third one uh that we
-
we are working on and we are teaching this morning
-
yi yi yi yi yi yi yi us strengthen us in the
-
work of faith and everything writes everything
-
that pertains to the work of ministry so matthew
-
chapter 1 verse 21 or we can start from verse
-
20 but while he taught on these things behold
-
the angel of the lord appeared unto him in a
-
dream saying Joseph thou son of David fear not
-
to take unto thee marry thy wife for that which
-
is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost and
-
she shall bring forth a son and thou shall call
-
his name Jesus for he shall save his people from
-
their sins he shall save the people from their
-
sins so now all this was done that he might be
-
fulfilled which was spoken of the lord by the
-
prophets saying beo the virgin shall be with
-
child and shall bring forth a son and they shall
-
call his name immanuel which been interpreted
-
god with us then joseph being raised from sleep
-
did as the angel of the lord at beating him and
-
took his wife took unto him his wife a new anoint
-
until she was brought forth a first -born son
-
and he called his name jesus now the emphasis
-
is from verse 21 to 23 right and the tidying
-
up that we're doing is that when the scripture
-
talks about the incarnation of christ okay when
-
the scripture talks about the incarnation of
-
christ the resurrection which is what christ
-
would do is also preached alongside okay when
-
the scripture teaches that a child will be born
-
it also teaches that the child will save a people
-
right so it tells us what a child will do which
-
is teaching about the fact that god will come
-
in the flesh to deliver his people to deliver
-
us and that is one thing that we see so the incarnation
-
and the resolution are not preached separately
-
but where we find the information bring talked
-
about the resurrection is emphasized right the
-
resurrection the ascension is emphasized so we
-
can say that the entire gospel right communicates
-
the testimony of christ so talk about the testimony
-
of christ right it talks about the entire thing
-
that's jesus did it talks about the entire thing
-
that jesus did means it's coming to life the
-
incarnation is suffering is death's barrier and
-
resurrection okay so it's coming to life which
-
is incarnation is suffering is death's barrier
-
and resurrection and what we call the ascension
-
so incarnation suffering death's barrier the
-
resurrection and what we call the ascension which
-
we have taught separately that ascension means
-
right the giving of life into us to give us eternal
-
life means christ in us ascending into us and
-
we have taught that there are teachings on that
-
uh if we want to further in that or if you want
-
to revise that now so where is the problem why
-
do did i have to teach that the other day that
-
some people believe jesus as a prophet right
-
that some people believe jesus as just incarnate
-
some people believe jesus as why do we have to
-
teach that we have to teach that because when
-
it comes to the communication of the gospel okay
-
when it comes to communication of the gospel
-
the problem is not in the message the problem
-
always starts from the mind of men okay so when
-
it comes to the communication of the gospel when
-
the gospel is preached it is not the message
-
of the bible that has a fault no it is always
-
the mind of men the mind of men so the teaching
-
that we do helps the mind of man to align with
-
the accurate precise knowledge of the gospel
-
which is what we prayed about right what we prayed
-
about so sometimes when you begin to uh see people
-
pick some part of the gospel and say well i believe
-
these i don't believe that uh it's about the
-
mind of man so people can perceive one part of
-
the truth right just like the disciples also
-
perceived uh at some point in time only a certain
-
part of the truth so when you are listening to
-
a message one of the things that you should be
-
praying for yourself is lord i receive revelation
-
when you are listening to a message and the pastor
-
is preaching one of the things you should regularly
-
do is to say lord i receive revelation so that
-
you can enjoy the entire council of god in that
-
message right we've seen jesus being with the
-
disciples preaching preaching and yet at resurrection
-
they were wondering if it is true that it was
-
going to come alive again so let's open to our
-
bibles right just see look look 24 look 24 verse
-
25 and verse 25 to 34 then he said unto them
-
all foolish ones and slow of hearts to believe
-
in all that the prophet has spoken or not the
-
christ who have suffered these things and enter
-
into his glory and beginning at moses another
-
prophet he expounded unto them to them all the
-
scriptures in all the scriptures the things concerning
-
himself we can see it the things concerning himself
-
you can go to verse 30 let's see Now it came
-
to pass as he sat at a table with them that he
-
took bread and blessed and broke it and he gave
-
it to them And then their eyes were open and
-
they knew him and he vanished from their from
-
their sights And they said to one another did
-
our heart not burn right? Did our heart burn
-
within us while he talked with us on the road
-
and while he opened the scriptures to us so you
-
can see that ប ប ប ប ប ប these are the words
-
which i did words i spoke to you while i was
-
with you these are the words i spoke okay this
-
just appeared right all right these are the words
-
i spoke to you while i was with you luke 24 verse
-
44 that all things must be fulfilled which were
-
written in the law of moses and in the prophets
-
and in the psalms concerning me right concerning
-
me now would you say that they have not believed
-
jesus as the christ that has come they have worked
-
with him they have done what he has instructed
-
them to do they've preached alongside with him
-
they've healed the sick alongside with him yet
-
there's a part of the gospel that they couldn't
-
come into terms with and that was the suffering
-
of christ and the resurrection of christ so the
-
problem was with them now verse 45 told us what
-
happens and hoping they are understanding that
-
they might comprehend the scriptures so one of
-
the things you will always do is to pray for
-
yourself right that lord i comprehend the scriptures
-
i understand the scriptures i understand what
-
the bible says otherwise you would just appropriate
-
the bible wrongly right so we see that the problem
-
is with the mind of men so to explain that some
-
people believe in carnation is because we have
-
seen that happen in the mind of men and we put
-
scriptures like matthew 16 matthew 16 verse 21
-
to 23 which some people were about to make jesus
-
king haven't seen all the miracles haven't fed
-
them haven't understood that okay this must be
-
the christ they say let's make him a king right
-
who would not like to have a king that will continually
-
provide for them you know everybody likes to
-
have a king right that will continually provide
-
for them that will continually be with them right
-
even though they did not understand the time
-
our life it was going to come and stay in them
-
so everybody would like to have a king and they
-
wanted to make him a king you know it's like
-
somebody making a road and you know fixing the
-
road in your community putting uh street lights
-
and all of that and you want to make him the
-
chairman of the local government you know why
-
not but when it comes to the scripture and spiritual
-
things it has deeper understanding so they didn't
-
understand that the process by which jesus will
-
be their king is not by making him a king of
-
the jews so they didn't understand the process
-
the same thing with the disciples they didn't
-
understand the process by which jesus will be
-
with them forever they didn't understand that
-
process so it was their mind that could not comprehend
-
a king all the kings they know nif you remember
-
what samuel told them about the kind of kings
-
they are kings that rule and they rule what i
-
mean they rule and they rule it means that they
-
rule over the people over the kingdom they have
-
soldiers they have military they have security
-
and that is the kind of king that they comprehended
-
but scriptures made us to know that's not in
-
that way right and that is why jesus would say
-
my kingdom is not of this world right we don't
-
it's not of this world it's not how you make
-
kings in this place so they couldn't comprehend
-
they couldn't comprehend and we see that now
-
john john chapter one verse 12 uh we see that
-
john chapter one verse 12 i think just a little
-
bit of title there as well he said but as many
-
as receiving to them gave he power to become
-
the sons of god even to them that believe in
-
his name and verse 13 says which were born not
-
of blood not of the will of the flesh not the
-
will of man but the will of god so it's talking
-
about people coming to christ they believe they
-
receive him right and they are born of god so
-
it's talking about people that are being that
-
are born again this is a revelation what we mean
-
as uh post -resurrection explanation of jesus
-
in john chapter one so he's talking about people
-
that have come to believe people that have received
-
him so at this point they already comprehended
-
everything right at john 12 right what john was
-
referring to says well they understood now so
-
they believe so they became born again so coming
-
into being born again right means that you comprehended
-
you know the resurrection of right the death
-
barrier and uh the ascension of christ into you
-
so they have received him they believe in and
-
uh they believe and they have received him so
-
they are not doubting at this point the disciples
-
are not doubting whether he's going to die right
-
as we know john the book of john was written
-
later after many of these revelations we are
-
already clear rights and review so this is a
-
resurrection reality all right so i said it's
-
aligned with first john chapter three verse two
-
that says now are we the sons of god which means
-
at that present time right while this book was
-
written john and other disciples were the sons
-
of god good so i'm not going to revise every
-
other part which is those uh that didn't believe
-
in the scriptures you can listen to the message
-
is online is on ncf uh ncf .church and we have
-
the ncf media there and you can please listen
-
to those messages and it will bless you but the
-
emphasis right that we are going to make today
-
is for the believer so we said there are people
-
who believe jesus the first category of people
-
right the belief jesus as the belief jesus and
-
the entirety of the scriptures the belief jesus
-
and the entirety of the scriptures and we said
-
that those who believe jesus after resurrection
-
although they didn't believe uh the incarnation
-
they were doubting if it was truly christ but
-
they believe uh and there are those who just
-
believe that is born uh there are those who did
-
not believe neither the incarnation nor the resurrection
-
and those who believe that is a prophet now our
-
our empathy when we are teaching faith for evangelism
-
is not for them okay is not for them why because
-
the only people that can work in faith in evangelism
-
is the believer do we get it is the believer
-
so you cannot do evangelism when you're not safe
-
i mean that's not possible right if you're doing
-
that probably from head knowledge right you don't
-
have the reality of it so the people who are
-
responsible to do evangelism and to work in faith
-
for evangelism are the believers do we get that
-
so as a believer you are expected to work in
-
faith for evangelism right you are expected to
-
work in faith for evangelism now the first thing
-
we need to know okay the first thing we need
-
to know is that you have faith you have you have
-
faith this is the first thing we need to know
-
that there is no faith coming from outside into
-
you right that's when you became born again you
-
have the faith of christ in you when you became
-
born again you have the faith of christ in you
-
we must establish this because it is upon this
-
reality that's your function okay it is upon
-
this reality that you function you have the fate
-
of christ in it so you are not looking for a
-
fate from outside right but a fate that is established
-
in you right that is made manifest do you get
-
it you are not looking for me afraid from outside
-
but a fate that is established in you that is
-
made manifest so the question is what do we do
-
to this fate what we do to it is that we steer
-
it up okay we steer each other up we steer this
-
fate up for the work of ministry right we steer
-
this fate up for the work of ministry so that's
-
what believers do we steer each other up in faith
-
for the work of ministry we steer each other
-
up in faith for the work of ministry Now, why
-
is it necessary, right? Why is it necessary to
-
steer each other up in faiths for the work of
-
ministry? Now, that is where that scripture filament
-
comes in again, which was read during the prayers.
-
Filaments chapter one verse six. Filaments chapter
-
one verse six. Is that the sharing of your faiths
-
become effective by the acknowledging of every
-
good thing that is yours in christ so when we
-
stay together up in faith we are acknowledging
-
that we have it do we get it we are acknowledging
-
that we have it when we stay together up in faith
-
we acknowledge that we have faith we acknowledge
-
that we have faith we acknowledge that we have
-
faith so we steer each other up in faith the
-
faith is given we have the fullness of it but
-
we steer each other up in faith so that we can
-
be effective in our work of ministry is that
-
the sharing of your faiths may be effective so
-
whatever you do as a believer it will be effective
-
to the extent at which you acknowledge all that
-
is yours in christ do you get it all that you
-
do in christ will be effective to the level at
-
which you acknowledge it right to the level at
-
which you acknowledge it so why is it necessary
-
why is it necessary to stay each other up in
-
faith now let's write down let's write down the
-
conduct of a believer the conduct please conduct
-
in quotes in bold letters right the conduct of
-
a believer it means someone who has received
-
jesus who has believed christ someone who has
-
received jesus who has believed christ can show
-
a weakness of faith the conduct of a believer
-
can show a weakness of faith so someone can have
-
a weak faith now have you ever wondered when
-
you became born again when you believe jesus
-
and you started working with god have you ever
-
wondered that sometimes you manifest certain
-
things and at those early stages you were doubting
-
if you ever saved have you ever wondered you
-
know has that ever happened to you i'm sure it
-
happens to you sometimes you sit down and you
-
examine yourself at those very stages like i
-
might really see the way i just lambasted this
-
guy i just spoke to him anyhow and you know i
-
just said my mind you wonder so you go back and
-
you begin to think i might really say or you
-
find yourself with some thoughts some thoughts
-
and you begin to like but i said i believe jesus
-
but these thoughts are coming good so the believer
-
writes at certain seasons and time can have a
-
weak fate and we have to check it from the scriptures
-
even on certain things that are found in the
-
bible on certain things something the bible said
-
clearly you can have a weak faith on those matters
-
so let's check romance 14 verse one romance 14
-
verse one we want to strengthen each other's
-
feet now the truth is we all have been weak in
-
faith at certain points in our lives and that's
-
the truth we must acknowledge that at certain
-
points we have been weak in faith by the time
-
we begin to diagnose things we will see that
-
in certain areas we've shown weaknesses in faith
-
but what is sustaining us is because there was
-
somebody there that said brother this is what
-
the word of god said and because of that you
-
stayed firm right there are certain conducts
-
you wanted to manifest but because someone showed
-
you and said have you forgotten that this is
-
what the scripture says right or someone just
-
told you have you forgotten that god is a faithful
-
god and your mind just just that will just change
-
the entire direction you want to take right so
-
in certain seasons and times and time again we
-
can find ourselves in this challenge but let's
-
see how the scripture establish you know points
-
to some people having a weak faith in certain
-
circumstances romance 14 verse 1 it's a receive
-
one who is weak in faith but not to dispute over
-
doubtful things right it's a receive someone
-
who is what who is weak in faith now read verse
-
21 can we go to verse 21 said it is good neither
-
to eat meat nor drink wine not do anything by
-
which your brother stumble or is offended or
-
is made weak now this is talking about people
-
who don't believe that they should eat anything
-
sacrificed to idol okay so they don't believe
-
that they should eat anything that is sacrificed
-
to idol while there are other people in that
-
church they were just you know we can say they
-
believe to eat everything they were just wiping
-
everything like you know you would say and the
-
discussion came about the fact that some people's
-
faiths are weak what does that mean it means
-
that for those people right for those people
-
they still believe right they still believe that
-
if an animal is unclean or is sacrificed to idol
-
it is literal and should not be eaten and that
-
idol is something do we get it so it was having
-
this discussion and some says well idol is nothing
-
right we can eat we have the liberty in christ
-
and order says well their conscience will begin
-
to see you differently so therefore avoid it
-
now this does not teach that people should avoid
-
food sacrifice or either or any food that is
-
unclean but paul was saying that for love accommodates
-
do we get it that is the first thing that chapter
-
14 was saying he said for the love of god accommodates
-
these people okay so refrain from it you don't
-
have to eat it you don't have to eat it refrain
-
from it we know you have the knowledge and the
-
revelation now go to chapter 15 verse 1 pa did
-
not stop there but he went to 15 verse 1 and
-
he said something he said we then that are strong
-
ought to bear the infirmities of the weak and
-
not to please ourselves let every one of us please
-
his neighbor for his good to edification and
-
even christ please not himself as it is written
-
the approaches of them that approach d fell on
-
me so it's emphasizing that those that are strong
-
should be right so those that are strong is referring
-
to people whose conscience are clicked and they
-
have the understanding that meets are only a
-
communication of course meeting the old testament
-
a communication of old doctrine and meet sacrifice
-
to idol because there is nothing referred to
-
as idol right rather they would receive it with
-
thanksgiving and eat so this is a controversy
-
that is clear there now we see this in that sense
-
let's go to romance let's go to romance uh chapter
-
four let's go to roman's chapter four verse 20
-
it says it did not waver at the promise of god
-
true unbelief but was strengthened in faith some
-
scripture says it was strong in faith giving
-
glory to god now this was talking about abraham
-
okay and at this point in abraham's life abraham
-
was strong in faith right did you see that when
-
you are strengthened in faith you don't weaver
-
you don't shake you don't you don't doubt it
-
says he was strengthened in faith strong in faith
-
giving glory to god so we can say believers can
-
actually be weak in faith and they can strong
-
in faith and how do we know it is not that uh
-
it is not by the spirit for example we have to
-
measure your spirit there's no spiritometer right
-
there's nothing like spiritometer where we can
-
measure how spiritual you are however we can
-
know that you are strong or weak in faith by
-
your conduct okay we can know that you are strong
-
or weak in faith by what by your conduct so every
-
day the believer must check their conducts to
-
see whether they are still in faith all right
-
so let's write the scriptures down Galatians
-
2 verse 11 to 21 Galatians 2 verse 11 to 21 now
-
we're going to see a situation where even apostle
-
peter a scenario shows apostle peter that it
-
was also weak at some point in time it was weak
-
in faith now i'm intentionally not taking scriptures
-
from the gospels yet i'm bringing scriptures
-
from acts and the epistles that is why we have
-
read romans and we are reading acts and we're
-
going to read galatians now let's go to galatians
-
11 don't forget so be weak in faith right would
-
refer to i don't know if we if we define that
-
but it refers to the conduct of a believer in
-
not acknowledging all that is written in the
-
scripture so we can write it down you can write
-
it down let's write this down that should be
-
weak in faith refers to the conduct of the believer
-
the conduct of the believer that does not acknowledge
-
all that is found in the scripture okay the conduct
-
of the believer that does not acknowledge all
-
that is found in the bible so in your life you
-
can find yourself in this scenario and in romance
-
14 what we saw was that people said well we are
-
not going to eat any food even if we know god
-
created everything but these ones we're going
-
to set aside so it's a corner of the believer
-
that does not acknowledge all that the scripture
-
says now this definition will help us to evaluate
-
apostle peter and see and one thing that is setting
-
is that he grew beyond that now galatians 2 verse
-
11 now when peter had come to antioch paul said
-
i withstood him to his face because he was to
-
be blamed for before certain men came from james
-
Right before starting men came from James he
-
could hit with the Gentiles but when they came
-
What did Peter do Peter withdrew himself? He
-
separated himself Fearing those who were of the
-
circumcision Who did he separate themselves from
-
from the Gentiles Peter separate said let this
-
circumcision party not know that I am fellowshiping
-
with what the Gentiles why because as at this
-
time right as at this time there is this common
-
understanding then that the jews and the gentiles
-
should not fellowship together now you can read
-
that from john chapter four from that john chapter
-
four where jesus was talking to that woman right
-
and they said we will worship on the mountains
-
and your own your church is the church of jerusalem
-
the samarians their church is the church of the
-
mountains and they are separated so this is a
-
common knowledge now at this time that that's
-
cutting has been divided has been destroyed that's
-
cutting the partition the jews and the gentiles
-
have been taken off but this is at the early
-
stage of the church is at the early stage of
-
the church so what was happening here was that
-
peter was separating himself it's like someone
-
comes to you right and fellowship with you but
-
when some other friend comes the person excuses
-
himself now this happened to me very practically
-
and i'll share with you now when i believe and
-
i was i was laid hands upon to pray in tongues
-
right i was laying down upon to paint it was
-
in another church where i schooled so we're schooling
-
there and they took us for a camp and hands were
-
laid and i began to pray in tongues day and then
-
now i was sure what happened to me and i knew
-
i was supposed to continue in that however when
-
i got to my home church back home the pattern
-
of speaking in tongues is different it is not
-
by the will of man okay it is not by the will
-
of man is by i don't know it's it's it's what
-
we call something comes upon you right is by
-
coming upon let's use that you can still relate
-
with that right in the old testament you know
-
how spirit comes upon the prophets and the prophesy
-
so that was the style and when the spirit comes
-
upon you people will know right people will know
-
so i got to church that day and they started
-
leading prayers and i started praying in tongues
-
under my tongue but i was watching people are
-
they looking at me is anybody noticing i'm praying
-
in tongues and i realized that my closest friend
-
also are going to cut something somewhere that
-
it was keeping quiet and refusing to speak in
-
tongues so we tried our service did not pray
-
because we were scared of people catching us
-
speaking in tongues without something coming
-
upon you so in that scenario my fate was weak
-
i didn't believe that you have to just you i
-
believe i knew but because of the people around
-
and because this environment does not permit
-
that i didn't it took me two years to come back
-
to praying in tongues without you know restriction
-
so at that point my faith was weak so this is
-
similar to the case of peter right seeing some
-
people come around and people were not circumcised
-
and you have been eating with them you have been
-
fellowshiping with them and because some people
-
came you withdrew so it means that although he
-
knows but in his conduct right his conduct shows
-
that is not fully acknowledging all that is found
-
in the scriptures so that fits in very well that
-
fits in very well but what happened did peter
-
stay here the answer is no peter did not stay
-
here at any point in time now let's continue
-
reading let's continue reading and the rest of
-
the juice also played the hypocrites galatians
-
2 verse 13 the play words hypocrites with him
-
so that even banabas was carried away with their
-
hypocrisy but when i saw that they were not straightforward
-
about the truth of the gospel i said to peter
-
before them all if you being a jew live in a
-
manner of gentiles and not as jews why do you
-
compare gentiles to live as jews we we who are
-
jews by nature are not sinners of the gentiles
-
knowing that a man is justified is not justified
-
by the works of the law but by what's by faith
-
by faith in what's in jesus christ so here he's
-
saying that circumcision does not justify a man
-
this is paul addressing an issue even we believe
-
in christ jesus that we might be justified by
-
faith in christ and not by the works of the law
-
for by the works of the law no flesh shall be
-
justified so paul in this place spoke to peter
-
and explained to him now let's go to acts 11
-
acts 11 verse 1 to 4 acts 10 verse 45 acts 11
-
verse 1 to 4 acts 10 verse 45 now the apostles
-
and the brethren who were in judia they heard
-
that the gentiles also received the word of god
-
and peter came up to jerusalem came up to jerusalem
-
those of the circumcision contended with what
-
with him and saying you went into the words on
-
circumcised men and et with what and et with
-
them but peter did what he explained it to them
-
in order from what from the beginning so he was
-
confronted about the word of god about what he
-
did and he had to explain himself but one thing
-
that was remarkable is that in the explanation
-
of peter he acknowledged that faith is uh justification
-
is by faith and that circumcision is unnecessary
-
for the gentiles so that is what we call growth
-
in faith so you write write it down growth in
-
faith is when we growth in faith is when we see
-
the revelation of god's word when we see the
-
revelation of god's word we acknowledge it ប
-
ប ប ប ប ប at chapter 15 verse 7 at chapter 15
-
verse 7 now paul became or peter became the one
-
who spoke in the jerusalem council to explain
-
that circumcision is unneeded right is not needed
-
rather right the circumcision was not needed
-
so this issue of circumcision came up and when
-
there had been much disputes peter rose up and
-
said to them men and brethren you know that's
-
a good while ago god chose among us that by mouth
-
of the gentiles that by my mouth rather the gentiles
-
should hear the word of the gospel and believe
-
so god who knows the hearts acknowledge them
-
by giving them the holy spirit just as he would
-
as he did to us and made no distinction between
-
us and them purifying their hearts by faith now
-
therefore why do you test god by putting a yoke
-
on the neck of the disciples which neither our
-
fathers nor we were able to bear but we believe
-
that through the grace of the lord jesus christ
-
we shall be saved in the same manner as they
-
are then all the multiple all the multitude kept
-
silent and listened to banabas and paul declaring
-
how many miracles and wonders god had walked
-
through them among the gentiles go to verse 17
-
verse 17 so that the rest of the mankind may
-
seek the lord even all the gentiles who are called
-
by my name says the lord who does all these things
-
now if you read from verse 12 to 17 they are
-
to refer back to the scriptures to the old testament
-
to prove that god requires all men to come to
-
him by faith not by circumcision do we get it
-
not by circumcision so from this place we can
-
see that they were in certain accents uh weak
-
in faith and what happened is that they grew
-
the apostles grew in faith the apostles grew
-
in faith now what happened there is similar to
-
what happened in luke 24 jesus abdid yir mind
-
and explained to them peter opened their minds
-
and explained to them paul opened peter's mind
-
peter opened the mind of the others and do you
-
know what happened they put it in writing he
-
said write this letter and send that nowhere
-
should the gentiles be required to be circumcised
-
so we can say that revelation gives people a
-
strengthened faith revelation strengthens our
-
faiths revelation strengthens our faiths they
-
thought from the scriptures and point that only
-
by faiths should man be saved so revelation strengthens
-
our faiths revelation strengthens our faiths
-
yi yi yi yi yi yi yi yi yi yi yi kwenye kwenye
-
kwenye kwenye kwenye kwenye kwenye kwenye kwenye
-
kwenye kwenye or they will tell you to go and
-
stay in church do you know what you'll be doing
-
in church this one is practical i i managed to
-
escape it they will tell you to open the books
-
of proverbs and be writing it you become a scribe
-
you will write the book of proverbs from the
-
first chapter to the last chapter this is i saw
-
it live and it happened to my cousins i don't
-
know why i was you know only a few times i got
-
into that so the punishment is you go to church
-
you you see that you you you write or you fast
-
now there is one that will help us to understand
-
revelation another punishment is that they will
-
tell you to go and evangelize they'll call it
-
ikede in my in my language ikede and you know
-
evangelism is not this one that you go and meet
-
people uh from where i come from you have to
-
carry a bell so so you have to ring the bell
-
and then speak right you have to ring the bell
-
and then you speak so this is one of the punishments
-
and i'm very serious about it so one of the things
-
that happen when you go for this kind of you
-
know edification is that your classmates will
-
see you and they would see you on the evangelism
-
ground right so what happened is that when they
-
give you this kind of punishment you want to
-
do it very early in the morning before the day
-
breaks so that you can justify that you have
-
done it not that anybody had listened to you
-
why because at that time you are avoiding your
-
classmates your high school mates and all of
-
that seeing you on the road and be teasing you
-
and all of that and the interesting thing is
-
that they will call you Woli you know they'll
-
call you prophets it means a prophet and then
-
we we didn't have a revelation that you know
-
when they call you a prophet you should be excited
-
about it and you're doing the work of god so
-
it was a teasing so we avoided it and as a result
-
somehow somehow you have to be uptight in the
-
house going to church not going to watch football
-
when the service is going on and all of that
-
but today what is the difference between me of
-
then and me of now is a revelation all the people
-
that pass through that system in my house if
-
they go out now they don't mind anybody seeing
-
them the difference is that we came to understand
-
first that truly you are a prophet it is not
-
a they can see it as a tease just like the word
-
christian is a you know it came out of a teasing
-
they they are followers of christ right people
-
who don't really understand i say oh they are
-
followers of christ these guys have been with
-
jesus right they are in the same school of thought
-
the same way that was to us but because of revelation
-
we understood that truly we share in the ministry
-
of christ we share in the work of christ so revelation
-
took us out from where our faith was weak to
-
where we became strong and we can boldly go out
-
and teach the gospel we can boldly go out and
-
evangelize we can go out and someone will say
-
oh that guy is a prophet i say yes we work in
-
the office of the prophet so revelations strengthens
-
your faiths revelation what differs between now
-
and then is revelation through the word of god
-
the bible did not change did the bible change
-
from then and now the bible did not change but
-
the understanding of what the bible says about
-
me and you changes what i knew then is not what
-
i know now so revelation strengthens our faiths
-
revelation strengthening our faith let's write
-
this down romance i think i wrote romance for
-
uh 20 wrote romance for 20 uh romance for 20
-
now put effecients one verse 17 as well effecients
-
one verse 17 let's let's just read that patience
-
you say sometimes we keep we quickly brush through
-
that script or we become too familiar with it
-
verse 15 says wherefore i also after i heard
-
of your faith in the lord right the lord jesus
-
and your love to us all the sins cease not to
-
give thanks for you making mention of you in
-
my prayers that the god of our lord jesus christ
-
the father of glory may give unto you the wisdom
-
of the spirit as you say and the revelation revelation
-
right in the knowledge of him these are people
-
that have received the faiths did you see we
-
heard of your faith means the faith the salvation
-
they have received right and your love towards
-
the saints so it's like someone who has believed
-
right and is serving in church we can put that
-
in our category right someone has believed the
-
person is serving in church and paul is saying
-
that i pray that you will get the revelation
-
in the knowledge of christ that you will not
-
miss the revelation you will not miss the revelation
-
in the knowledge of christ because it will help
-
you to know it will help you to know verse 18
-
it says the eyes of your understanding be enlightened
-
that ye may know what is the hope of your calling
-
and what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance
-
in the saints so it makes you know what you have
-
been called to do that's what revelation is right
-
it makes you know what you have been called to
-
do you are not called to sit down and not preach
-
the gospel you are not called to you are not
-
going to run away from evangelism you are not
-
called to not preach you are called actually
-
to preach the gospel that is the hope to which
-
god has called you to that comes by revelation
-
now you can be a christian for many years and
-
you've not done evangelism right it means that
-
you need to come into in -depth revelation of
-
what that means you know it you have heard it
-
but the explanation and the clarity of it by
-
the spirit must come to you must come to you
-
and that is one of the reasons why we say you
-
should keep coming to church it will not happen
-
in one day do we get it revelation does not happen
-
like in one day you might hear the message hear
-
the message hear the message it becomes strong
-
in your hearts and one day your faith is teared
-
up your faith is teared up so not neglecting
-
the gathering of the brethren also contributes
-
to strengthening your faiths right not neglecting
-
the gathering of the brethren contribute because
-
that is where you hear revelation that is what
-
when revelation becomes done on you and you are
-
able to do what you have been called to do on
-
Wednesday we will continue much more in this
-
teaching but what we have been able to establish
-
today is that revelation strengthens you now
-
if there are areas of the bible if there are
-
things that you think that you should be doing
-
and you are not doing as a believer but you have
-
seen it in the world that the bible says this
-
is who you are this is how you should work you
-
can pray that you come into that revelation i
-
said what you can pray that you come into that
-
revelation if you are struggling in any area
-
of your conduct as a believer you can pray that
-
the revelation this is paul's prayer here that
-
the revelation will come that there will be a
-
dawn in your heart that will make you begin to
-
do all that is yours in christ can we pray that
-
prayer this morning We appreciate you being here
-
