Welcome to NECF sermons. Each message here is
-
designed to uplift and strengthen you in your
-
walk with God. Don't miss out. Stay with us until
-
the end for a rewarding experience. Let's dive
-
right in. Hallelujah. Praise God. So we'll just
-
quickly continue like I said. that we're just
-
having an introduction. We'll finish the introduction
-
today. And when next we meet, we'll talk more
-
on the name of Jesus, right? Yes, so prior to
-
now, there's nothing called the name of Jesus
-
prior to the coming of Christ, right? There was
-
nothing called the name of Jesus. There was nothing
-
in the name. Prophet Elijah will not say, I call
-
down rain in the name of who? In the name of
-
Jesus. Hallelujah. Yeah, so Moses will not part
-
the sea in the name of what? Jesus said, this
-
rod that I carry, I strike the sea in the name
-
of, oh ye red sea, hear the voice of God and
-
in the name of Jesus, you will divide. Bah, no.
-
Amen. Prior to now, Jeremiah will not come and
-
say, in the name of Jesus, I prophesy. No. Jonah
-
will not be called to send an assignment to Nineveh
-
to preach the gospel and then in the name of
-
Jesus. There was nothing called in the what?
-
In the name of Jesus. All we see, all we hear,
-
all we read are all prophecies that have been
-
spoken about who? About Christ. Hallelujah. So
-
what do we see? Let me put it this way. All that
-
we see from the Old Testament that have been
-
prophesied, right? Or let me put it this way
-
carefully. All that we see in the Old Testament
-
are prophetic words about the name of who? The
-
name of Jesus. Amen? Do you understand what I
-
just said now? All that we read or all that has
-
been said, all the prophecies in the Old Testament
-
are about the name of who? The name of Jesus.
-
In the Old Testament, you won't see in my name.
-
Hallelujah. Are we all here? So in the Old Testament,
-
you won't see what? You won't see anybody, you
-
know, doing anything in the name of who? In the
-
name of Jesus. But all we see are prophecies.
-
That's what we read on Sunday in Luke, right?
-
Yeah, ought not Christ to have suffered and to
-
enter into his what? Glory. So all that the prophets
-
have prophesied concerning who? Concerning me.
-
Praise God. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Yeah, so
-
why are we seen in the name? We are seeing in
-
the name now, in the New Testament, right? I'm
-
using this separation carefully now. In the New
-
Testament, because now, that which has been prophesied
-
has been what? Has been fulfilled. Amen? That
-
which has been prophesied from the Old Testament,
-
now by the prophets, has been what? Fulfilled.
-
Praise God. And now, those things that the prophets
-
have spoken, right? Just part of them. What we
-
see that we say in Matthew, Mark, Luke, John,
-
the fulfillment more had to do with the incarnation
-
of Christ. Amen? But now the authority in the
-
name of Jesus, right? The fulfillment now is
-
when? After the resurrection. Praise God. So
-
the authority, let me use the word, the legal
-
authority giving for the name of Jesus to be
-
in function on the earth, right? Started after
-
what? After the resurrection of Christ Jesus.
-
Hallelujah. Glory to Jesus. Hallelujah. Yes.
-
So, we need to put this so that in the Old Testament,
-
all we see is what? Prophecies. Hallelujah. Matthew,
-
Mark, Luke, eyewitness account about what? Jesus
-
is humanity, right? And it's the work of ministry.
-
So, we see just a part of the prophecies that
-
have been spoken. Right now in fulfillment because
-
Jesus has been born. Amen. And then we see the
-
work of his ministry on the earth. Praise God.
-
But is that actually where the name of Jesus
-
is? No. Praise God. But now we see now from the
-
prophecy, little has been prophesied. Now we
-
see his suffering because the prophecy is specific.
-
Ought not Christ to have what? Suffered, right?
-
He will die. He will be buried. And the third
-
day he will be what? So you see there is emphasis.
-
on that which Christ is making regarding what
-
ought to be fulfilled. So that remission and
-
repentance, right, of sins can be preached to
-
how many nations? All nations. And that now we
-
see it happening after what? The resurrection.
-
Hallelujah. So Elijah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Moses,
-
all of them never used the name of Jesus. All
-
of them prophesied about what? The name of Jesus.
-
Hallelujah. Glory to God. Glory to God. So question
-
which we'll address later, does it mean that
-
now when they, all the mighty power they commanded,
-
all the things they did, they were doing it in
-
whose name? In whose authority? Who gave them
-
that authority to do it? Hallelujah. Now that
-
is a big question somebody will have. Amen? Because
-
if you are saying that, we are the ones now,
-
we should preach in the name. We should cast
-
out devil. So those guys, what were they using?
-
Hallelujah. Praise God. And we said Elijah prayed
-
in James chapter 5. Elijah prayed fervently.
James 5 chapter mention
-
A man like us, right? There will not be rain.
-
And rain ceased. And he prayed again. Rain came.
-
Oh, what such a power. Do you know when you do
-
that in this season? You meet our president,
-
President Erhuman. Right? And you just say, at
-
my words. This season, there will not be summer
-
again. For the next three months. And then, rain
-
starts. At the end of the summer, the three months,
-
you say, add my words. Let the rain stop. What
-
do you think will happen in this country? No,
-
no, let's just start. What do you think will
-
happen? Victory. I will use you because you are
-
revolutionaries. So let's assume that happened
-
to you. What do you think will happen in this
-
country? Okay, all attention will be on him,
-
yes? They will give him... They will believe
-
what you believe, okay? Yes, now don't be shy.
-
Now don't be shy. Doctor, what do you think will
-
happen? Nothing will happen. Okay. That's good.
-
Yes, what do you think will happen? Okay, they
-
will protect you to see how reliable you are.
-
Okay? Hallelujah. But do you know there will
-
be chaos in this island? Especially you will
-
be picked and kept somewhere for observation.
-
How is it possible? That you had all boldness
-
to walk to the presidency, say there will not
-
be this, and it happened, and then yet you come.
-
Is that not power? No, now, talk to me now. Is
-
that not power? It's power. I'm saying it now
-
because I said something that somebody will ask.
-
If Elijah could use this, you know, demonstrate
-
this mighty power, and yet not in the name, then
-
on whose authority was he what? Was he doing
-
that? It's a big question you're supposed to
-
ask. Hallelujah. So when we come fully, now we'll
-
talk why that happened. Hallelujah. Good. So,
-
that's one part. Second part now is, we said
-
the name Onoma or the meaning of Onoma is what?
-
No, now let's look at our notes. Okay, open book
-
exams. Let's look at our notes. Yes, open book
-
exams. Onoma. Eh? No, don't go the other, first
-
Onoma. It's Pastor Ema here. Let's just close
-
this service. Onoma. Onoma. Did you write anything?
-
Okay, yes. Okay, what is Onoma? Eh? Proper names,
-
right? First, right? Eh, it is yes now. Koston.
-
Peter. Chokobleke. Uzaya. Proper names. Praise
-
God. But now we now say figuratively, it will
-
mean what? Office, authority, function, ability,
-
position, yes? Character. So do you think if
-
we are saying in the name of Jesus, are we dealing
-
with proper names or we are talking about figurative,
-
function, office, character, ability? What do
-
you think we'll be discussing? So why do you
-
think we'll not talk about his office function?
-
Why do you think that we should be talking about
-
his name, Jesus? Proper name. Why do you think
-
we should just focus on proper name? All, sir.
-
Both either in English or Greek or... Why do
-
you think if we should focus, why do you want
-
to focus on function of his rather than propane?
-
Because he's not what? Huh? I don't know. We'll
-
collect the money. You know, a man of God wants
-
to be the cashier. Praise God. Because it's not
-
only Jesus. Because when we check Jesus meets
-
Joshua, prior to now, we had Joshua's on the
-
land. Praise God. Yes, we had Joshua's on the
-
land. From the Old Testament, were there not
-
Joshua's? We had Joshua's. There were people
-
with the name Jesus. Even today, my brother's
-
name is Jesus. Praise God. But is he walking
-
on water? Is he dying and suffering and entering
-
into glory? Praise God. In fact, during Jesus'
-
time, there were people who were named what?
-
Jesus. Praise God. Even after Jesus' time in
-
Acts of the Apostles, there were people who were
-
named what? Jesus. So it means that there is
-
more that we are looking at than just what? Proper
-
name. Jesus. Jesus. Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
-
To just specify that he came from Nazareth. It's
-
not the naming we learned, right? Both in the
-
cell meeting, even in the church here. It's not
-
the naming. There is more the believer needs
-
to know about what the name of Jesus is. Because
-
that's where authority is. The prayers we just
-
had today about the boldness that will come upon
-
us. In fact, we are going to read that place.
-
It's part of the scriptures we are going to read.
-
He said that, you know, he said, Grant unto thy
-
servant, what? Boldness. Acts chapter 4. Right?
Acts 4 chapter mention
-
That by the name of thy holy child, Jesus, thy
-
healing be what? Be done. Hallelujah. So the
-
gospel will be preached and healings will take
-
place by the name of what? But you see, when
-
the apostles were talking about by the name of
-
that holy child Jesus, they were not talking
-
about the name. Praise God. They had a proper
-
understanding of what? Of what they were praying
-
or what they were saying. So if they were in
-
our midst today, right? And we say the name of
-
Jesus, they will not take it as proper name of
-
Jesus. Praise God. Do you know why? Pastor Fred
-
taught us. Because in Acts chapter 1, those 30
Acts 1 chapter mention
-
days that he took to teach them, those were the
-
things that they learned from it. So they will
-
not be just saying that in the name of Jesus
-
as proper name. No. Because already now they
-
know that Jesus has already brought to their
-
understanding, right? That it behoved that he
-
be suffered to die and be raised the third day,
-
right? And from that, now the result of all those
-
events is that in my name. So if they were praying
-
or if they, in Acts chapter 4, they are praying
Acts 4 chapter mention
-
that by the name of the Holy Child, Jesus. In
-
fact, let's read it this way so that you understand.
-
Acts chapter 4, verse 24, everybody. And when
-
they heard that, they lifted up their voice to
-
God with one accord and said, Lord, thou art
-
God, which has made heaven and the earth and
-
the sea. Did they say that they were against
-
them? Did they say they were against them? See
-
what they said. Against who and who? That the
-
priests and all the rulers are against who? Against
-
the Lord, right? They were against Jesus Christ.
-
Praise God. Good. Perfect. So which means the
-
believer, right, on the earth, his assignment
-
and function is not for him. Praise God. 2 Corinthians
2 Corinthians 5 chapter mention
-
chapter 5 says that we are ambassadors for who?
-
For Christ. Amen. Good. So now, see now, 26.
-
The kings of the earth stood and then the rulers
-
were gathered together against the Lord and against
-
his Christ. 27. See. For a truth against thy
-
holy, what? Child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed,
-
both Herod and Pontius Pilate with the Gentiles
-
and the people of Israel were gathered, what?
-
Who are they gathered against? Against Jesus.
-
Hallelujah. Does this look like Mark chapter
Mark 16 chapter mention
-
16 and then Luke chapter 24? Let's go to Luke
Luke 24 chapter mention
-
chapter. So put your hands in that Acts chapter
Acts 4 chapter mention
-
4 that we read and then put that verse 29, right?
-
Heal and signs and wonders may be done by the
-
name of what? Thy holy child, what? Jesus. So
-
underline that word by the name of thy holy child,
-
Jesus. Right? Good. We know the name of Jesus.
-
His proper name is what? Jesus. Right? Good.
-
Let's go to Luke chapter 24, everybody. Verse
Luke 24 chapter mention
-
47. And that repentance and remission of sins
-
shall be preached in what? In his name among
-
what? All nations beginning at? To 46, everybody,
-
46. And said unto them, Thus it is written, Thus
-
and thus it behoved Christ to suffer and to rise
-
from the dead, the what? What was written? Let's
-
go up to 44. And he said unto them, These are
-
the words which I speak unto you while I was
-
yet with you, that all things must be what? Fulfilled.
-
Right? Which were written in the law of Moses
-
and in the prophets and in the Psalms and what
-
concerning who? So what were the things written
-
now? 45. Then opened he their understanding that
-
they might understand the what? The scriptures.
-
Amen? Good. So 46. What were the things that
-
were written? He said, thus it is written. And
-
thus it behooved Christ to suffer and to rise
-
from the dead, the what? So here was written
-
by Moses. What was written by Moses? Christ will
-
suffer, yes? Good. And then from there, now 47,
-
let's read all together. And that repentance
-
and remission of sins shall be what? In his name
-
to what? To all nations, right? Beginning at
-
what? At Jerusalem, right? So everybody now,
-
carry verse 46. Verse 46, that says, thus it
-
is written, thus it behoove Christ to suffer
-
and to rise from the dead. The what? The third
-
day. Carry that place and put it in Acts chapter
Acts 4 chapter mention
-
4, right? Verse 30, by stretching forth thy hand
-
to heal and the signs and wonders may be done
-
as a result of Christ's death and resurrection.
-
From what? From the dead. Hallelujah. Because
-
that is why, this is the understanding the apostles
-
had. Their function or the work of ministry in
-
their hands was not as a result of using the
-
proper name of who? Of Jesus. 36. Everybody go
-
to 45. Luke chapter 24 verse 45. That is what
-
the apostles were using. Luke chapter 24 verse
-
45. Then opening here they are what? Understanding
-
that they might understand the what? The scriptures.
-
So the apostles, were sanctioning as a result
-
of understanding of what? Of the scriptures.
-
So what I just said now in summary, that the
-
believer's authority, right, is resting upon
-
the understanding of what? Of the scriptures.
-
What is written in the scriptures? That Christ
-
will suffer, right, and he will die, be buried,
-
and he will be raised of what? The third day.
-
That's where the authority of the believer lies.
-
You see, if you pay attention, when they gathered
-
in Acts chapter 4, they didn't say that the princes
Acts 4 chapter mention
-
and the rulers were gathering against us. Come
-
on Lord, look at us. Pity us. These people are
-
fighting against us. Is that what they said?
-
No. In fact, the next verse, they said they have
-
ganged up against Jesus Christ. Glory to Jesus.
-
Good. So, that's the second thing now that I
-
just said, right? Yeah, so first thing that I
-
started by saying is prior to now in the Old
-
Testament, nobody is talking about in the name
-
of what? Jesus. I established that, right? Good.
-
So are we all there on the same page? Don't worry.
-
When we come properly, we'll go to that place
-
and then walk through. Then now we're establishing
-
also that now what we see is not about the proper
-
name of what? The proper name of Jesus. But rather,
-
the apostles were functioning from what? Understanding.
-
Understanding of what? The scriptures. What scriptures?
-
What is written about who? About Christ. That
-
it behooves Christ to suffer, to die, and to
-
be raised from what? From the dead. Do we understand
-
this so far? Glory to God. So now, what we now
-
did on Sunday, right? We're able to look at,
-
where did we stop on Sunday? We stopped at Mark,
-
Jerusalem and Eugenia, right? And then we ran
-
down to Matthew. We read Matthew. Amen? Good.
-
So, Now, let's go to Matthew 28. Matthew 28.
-
Matthew what? 28. Everybody, let's go there.
-
Verse 19. So, so far, so good. We know onoma,
-
right? Proper name and then figuratively function
-
now, right? Ability, office, authority, right?
-
Good. Perfect. So, you can go and do more such.
-
If you check your BLB and all those things, you
-
see all those clarifications there. Glory to
-
God. Good. So, now. Matthew 28, everybody. Verse
-
19. And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying,
-
All power is given unto me in heaven and in what?
-
And in earth. Go ye therefore and teach all nations,
-
baptizing them in the name of the Father and
-
of the Son and of what? And of the Holy Ghost.
-
Does this place look like Luke chapter 24? Right?
Luke 24 chapter mention
-
After he finished speaking to them, he said that
-
repentance and remission of sins will be preached
-
what? In my name. Hallelujah. To all nations.
-
Glory to God. And then in Mark chapter 16 also,
Mark 16 chapter mention
-
we see the same instruction, right? Perfect.
-
So now, in Matthew 28, we said onmerma means
-
what? Authority, right? Function, right? Office.
-
Ability, yes. And what again? Character. Glory
-
to God. Then now, read it this way, everybody.
-
18 now. And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying,
-
Right? In my name, go ye therefore and teach
-
all nations, baptizing what? Baptizing them in
-
the name of the Father and of the Son and what?
-
And of the Holy Ghost. So underline the what?
-
In the name of the Father and of the Son and
-
the Holy Ghost. We are coming to that. Because
-
this is the only place you will see where in
-
the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy
-
Ghost is mentioned. You won't see it anywhere.
-
Praise God. You won't see it anywhere. You know,
-
we will always do it. In the name of the Father,
-
you touch your forehead. and of the son you touch
-
your chest is it right or left yeah and of the
-
holy ghost so the hand is here then the holy
-
ghost rests here you know say amen you know or
-
as many of us that are watching football before
-
they do before they do substitutes as they are
-
doing like this you know and then they'll enter
-
and you wonder okay what was that just a fast
-
charm That was initiated. Hallelujah. See, in
-
this church, this is not the name of Jesus. Glory
-
to God. Praise God. It is not the name of Jesus.
-
No. This does not work here. Glory to God. What
-
works here, right, is the resurrection of who?
-
Of Jesus. That's what works. In fact, let's say
-
it this way. The resurrection of Jesus works
-
for me. And say it this way. I work in the resurrection
-
of Jesus. I function in the resurrection of Jesus.
-
Yes, that's where the authority lies. Praise
-
God. All the things we have been discussing all
-
this while about the things of the Spirit, praying
-
in the Holy Ghost, demonstration, all the things,
-
all the things are a product of the resurrection
-
of who? Of Jesus. Heal the sick. Resurrection.
-
Cast out devils. Resurrection. Speak in new tongues.
-
Resurrection. It's the gospel. Resurrection.
-
That's it. So now, let's read 18. And Jesus came
-
and spoke unto them, saying, All power is given
-
unto me in heaven and what? Some versions will
-
use the word authority. Okay, thank you for that.
-
You see, all authority has been what? Given to
-
me in what? In heaven and what? And on earth.
-
Now, Keep this for us like this. Go to Luke 24.
-
Because we are doing lots of study here so that
-
we really get what we are doing. Luke 24. 47.
-
Read it this way. And that repentance and remission
-
of sins should be preached in my authority among
-
what? All nations beginning at what? Jerusalem.
-
Does that make sense to us? Does it make sense
-
to us? Does it make sense? Let's read it again.
-
Repentance and remission of what? Of sins shall
-
be preached in my authority. Among what? All
-
nations beginning at what? Does it make sense
-
chapter 16. And this sign, verse 17. And this
-
sign, just keep this to it. Just hold it. Verse
-
17. And this sign shall follow them that believe
-
in my authority, in my office. In my ability,
-
right, they will do what? They shall cast out
-
devils. They shall speak with what? With new
-
tongues. Does it make sense to us? Does it make
-
sense? So, if all the places we have read now
-
made that sense to us, what do you think Matthew
Matthew 18 chapter mention
-
chapter 18 will be saying? And Jesus came and
-
spoke to them saying, all authority has been
-
given to me in heaven and on earth. What do you
-
think he'll be saying in Matthew? Matthew 28.
-
Good. Immediately he said that statement about
-
the authority. Mind you, don't forget. We said
-
that these statements that Jesus is making is
-
upon his resurrection. Praise God. Jesus never
-
made these statements before his resurrection.
-
These statements that Jesus is making now is
-
upon his what? Is upon his resurrection. So after
-
he has finished saying, all authority in heaven
-
and on earth has been given to me. See the next
-
statement. He said, do what? Yes, what do you
-
think he'll be saying? Yeah? Okay, his name is
-
the authority. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
-
You are right, my yes. I want you to put it in
-
Matthew 18 now. In Matthew, go to 18, 28, 18.
-
Yes? Yes, so put it in this verse now. And put
-
it now, put it now, put it, put it, put it now.
-
Let's go. And Jesus came and spoke to them saying,
-
In my name. In my name. Next verse. Go ye what?
-
Go therefore and make disciples of how many nations?
-
All nations, baptizing them in the name of what?
-
The Father and of the Son and what? And of the
-
Holy Ghost. Next verse. Teaching them to observe
-
all things that I have what? Commanded you. However,
-
we have learned these all things I have commanded
-
you is not what we have read in Luke 24. Right?
-
Which we now see in Acts chapter 1. The 50 days
Acts 1 chapter mention
-
of all the teachings, right? And he says, I am
-
with you. And Lord, I am with you always, even
-
to the end of what? To the end of age. So what
-
Jesus was saying in Matthew 28, verse 18, and
-
then now telling them to go therefore, he said,
-
in my right, in my authority, in my name, go
-
therefore and make disciples of how many nations?
-
All nations. Glory to Jesus. So somebody will
-
now ask a question. How about in the name of
-
the Father? the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. What
-
happens to it? I say we should do what? Underline
-
it and keep it. We are coming to it. Praise God.
-
Are we all here? So now we see the name of Jesus,
-
the authority of Jesus. So on Sunday, one of
-
the things we said, we want to establish that
-
if Jesus said that statement in Luke, right,
-
we expect also to see an account of such statements
-
in Matthew, amen, in Mark, and also in what?
-
in john hallelujah praise god so now everybody
-
let's go to john's account let's go to john's
-
account everybody john chapter 20 verse 30 are
-
we all on the same page so far good john chapter
John 20 chapter mention
-
20 everybody is anybody confused so far you are
-
not understanding what's happening are we all
-
understanding are we all understanding good perfect
-
john 20 verse 30 everybody And he says, are many
-
other signs truly did Jesus did in what? In the
-
presence of his disciples which are not written
-
where? In this book. But these are written that
-
ye might what? Believe that Jesus is what? Is
-
the Christ, the Son of God and believing ye might
-
have life through what? Ye might have life through
-
what? Through his name. all that we have seen,
-
his death, burial, and resurrection, is that
-
believing, these things were written, that believing
-
these things, we might have life. How do we have
-
the life? Through his what? Through his name.
-
Glory to Jesus. We might have life. Do you see
-
this aligns with Mark chapter 16, the instruction
Mark 16 chapter mention
-
he gave? Let's go to Mark chapter 16. Let's go
Mark 16 chapter mention
-
to Mark chapter 16, everybody. Mark chapter 16,
Mark 16 chapter mention Mark 16:15
-
verse 15. And he said unto them, Go ye into all
-
the world, preach the gospel to every creature,
-
he that what? Can you see? And that believing,
-
right? Ye might have what? Life through his what?
-
Through his name. Believer and his baptized shall
-
be what? Shall be saved, shall have life. But
-
he that believeth not shall what? Shall be damned.
-
Glory to Jesus. So that's what we are seeing.
-
That we have life through his what? Through his
-
name. We have life through his what? Through
-
his name. Let's establish something there very
-
fast so that we can. John 14, 13. John 14, 13.
-
Everybody. We have life through his name. Glory
-
to Jesus. John 14, 13. And whatsoever ye shall
-
ask. So I think it will be good. As we go through
-
these scriptures, please, anywhere you see in
-
my name, his name, try and be on the line if
-
it's your Bible. Right? If you borrowed it, please
-
don't write there. Yes. Yes. So, 14, 13. And
-
whatsoever ye shall ask what in my name, that
-
will I what? Will I do? When we come, more detail
-
about the name. We will come to these places
-
and talk about them in detail. Amen? These statements
-
that Jesus is making. Right? Why was he making
-
these statements? Glory to Jesus. He said, in
-
my name, that will I what? Do, and the Father
-
may be glorified where? In the Son. Verse 26.
-
Verse 14. Let's go to 14. 14, very fast there.
-
And if ye shall ask anything in my what? In my
-
name. I will what? I will do it. So, from now,
-
any place you see in my name, please, be put
-
in the office of Jesus. The authority of Jesus.
-
The function of Jesus. The character of who?
-
Of Jesus. Amen? So you see, you cannot just come
-
and say, I claim this Lamborghini in the name
-
of Jesus. Kabaye. What's that? What did you just
-
do? You see that house? Oh my father, I claim
-
it. I claim it. The question is, so you are claiming
-
it in the character of who? And for what? Because
-
we are learning now, carefully, if you pay attention,
-
we are learning all that is happening. In the
-
name of Jesus, events are happening. One of the
-
first events that is happening in the name of
-
Jesus is preaching what? The gospel. Another
-
event we are seeing that is happening in the
-
name of Jesus is what? Signs, wonders, and miracles.
-
Another event that is happening in the name of
-
Jesus is that through his name, we see people
-
have eternal life by believing. We are not seeing
-
people claiming Lamborghini. People claiming
-
mansions. People claiming things that is not
-
their own. Glory to Jesus. So, see now. So because
-
somebody will say, ah, I've never. You know,
-
you can be teaching, people can be. Somebody
-
will say, ah, if Jesus asks anything, I've never
-
seen this thing in my life. He say anything.
-
Bro, you cannot go and ask for somebody's wife.
-
Yes, you cannot. Because that's not in the character
-
of Jesus. That's not in the ability of Jesus.
-
Jesus does not have the ability to snatch somebody's
-
wife and give you. The resurrection of Jesus
-
never provided that kind of supply for you in
-
the spirit. Never. So now we are coming to this.
-
Hallelujah. So now, on the line of what? Anything
-
in my what? In my name, I will what? I will do
-
it. Glory to Jesus. Verse 26. Verse 26. But when
-
the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto
-
you from the Father, Even the Spirit of truth,
-
which proceeded from the Father, he shall do
-
what? He shall testify of what? Of me. And ye
-
shall also bear witness, because ye have been
-
with me from what? From the beginning. Where
-
did he write in my name? Where did he write in
-
my name? But when the Comforter is come, whom
-
I will send to you from the Father, glory to
-
Jesus, even the Spirit of truth, which proceeded
-
from the Father, he shall come to testify of
-
what? Testify of who? So in whose name will the
-
comforter be coming? In whose name? Another event
-
that we are seeing that will happen in the name
-
of Jesus is that the Holy Spirit will come upon
-
what? Will come upon everybody. Glory to Jesus.
-
That's another thing that we are seeing. The
-
Holy Spirit. He said he shall testify. It's as
-
a result of my resurrection that the Holy Spirit
-
will be what? Will be poured. Glory to Jesus.
-
Glory to Jesus. Good. Verse 15, 26. But the comforter
-
is still the same, the comforter. The comforter
-
with the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send
-
in what? In my name. Come on now, Bible students.
-
You allow your teacher to be rigmarole. Oh, you
-
understand? In my name, he shall teach you how
-
many things? All things and bring all things
-
to your remembrance whatsoever I have worked.
-
So the Holy Spirit in whose name will be given?
-
In the name of Jesus. Acts 15, 16. John 15, 16.
-
15, 16. Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen
-
you and ordained you. Ha ha. that ye shall go
-
and bring forth fruit, that your food shall what?
-
Remain. That whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father
-
in my name, he might what? He might give you.
-
Hallelujah. Glory to God. Our election is in
-
the name of Jesus. Our adoption is in the name
-
of who? In the name of Jesus. Glory to God. See
-
21, everybody. 21, 15, 21. But all these things
-
will they do? unto you from my what? Namesake,
-
because they know not him that what? The question
-
is, what will they happen? Let's go to 20 so
-
that please don't be afraid of this because that's
-
it. It's a product of the name. Remember the
-
word that I said unto you, the servant is not
-
greater than his Lord. If they have persecuted
-
me, they will also what? Persecute you. If they
-
have kept my saying, they will also keep yours
-
what? Also, can you see that in the name, the
-
same response they give to Jesus, they give to
-
the believer. Glory to God. Then now, see the
-
next verse 21. He said, but all these things
-
will they do what? What are the things they will
-
do unto you? They will persecute you. You know,
-
in Hausa, Zamusha Shegi, in his name, they will
-
pull the knife and slaughter for the name's sake.
-
They will put a bullet in your head or in your
-
chest. For what? So write it. It's another event
-
in the name. Write it. Yes, as we arrive here
-
now, everybody pause. Write it. Persecution where?
-
In the name. Yes. Yes. John 16, 23. John 16,
-
23. And in that day ye shall ask me nothing.
-
Very, very little I say unto you. Whatsoever
-
ye shall ask the Father in my what? In my name,
-
he will what? He will give it to you. So add
-
these verses, verse 24 and 26. All he's talking
-
about in my name, in my name, in my name. John
-
chapter 16, verse 24, verse 26. Additional verses.
-
So, so far so good. What are we seeing? The summary
-
of what we are seeing from John's account. The
-
gospel should be preached or taught in his name.
-
Men are to believe in the gospel and receive
-
life through his what? Through his. name. Glory
-
to Jesus. Good. So let's go to Acts now. Let's
-
go to Acts. So we have seen in his name, in his
-
name, Luke will tell us, repentance will be preached,
-
Matthew will tell us, Mark will tell us, John
-
will tell us. Amen? Good. Please write this.
-
I forgot to say it from John, that we receive
-
in his name. We receive from the Father in his
-
what? In his name. So, because question will
-
now be, is it that when we say, in the name of
-
Jesus, no, no, no, let me say the way we say
-
the name, you know. When they finish the prayers,
-
the last part, in the mighty, wonderful, precious
-
name of Jesus Christ. Amen. So, it's like, when
-
they say that now, the thing has downloaded fully.
-
Yes. You see, with a louder amen. Amen. You know,
-
the thing now, Allah don't show. I remember either
-
Pastor Fred or Pastor Victor taught us here,
-
right? Because that's where we're heading to.
-
Because what we receive from the Father is not
-
when we name the name of Jesus. But when we have
-
an understanding, right, of what Jesus has done,
-
what? For the provision of Christ for us. That's
-
how we receive it. Glory to God. So, I may come
-
into a place, or you may come into a place, right?
-
and pray a prayer, and never end it with the
-
name of Jesus. And Allah will show. Please, it's
-
not money Allah. So what I mean by Allah, that
-
you will see miracles, signs and wonders will
-
happen. But somebody will say, I'm talking about
-
miracle money. That's not what I mean. Did I
-
say that from my mouth? No. If you wrote it,
-
delete it. Glory to God. But we receive in His
-
word. So by now, so far so good, from Sunday
-
to now, you should know that when you say we
-
receive in His name, We mean that we are receiving
-
in his what? In his character. In his ability.
-
In his office. Glory to God. Because when we
-
come to consider the name, we want to see what
-
are the provisions that Jesus has made available
-
for the believer in his office, in his character.
-
What are the things? Glory to Jesus. So now,
-
Acts now. Acts, everybody. Acts 2 .21. Acts 2
-
.21. And it shall come to pass that whosoever
-
shall call out. on the name of the Lord shall
-
be what? Shall be saved. Does this look like
-
where we are coming from, John? Yes. Believing
-
and we will have what? Life. We call upon the
-
name of the Lord who will be what? When we come
-
to this place also in Romans chapter 10, we are
Romans 10 chapter mention
-
coming to Ephesians 9, Romans chapter 10, we
Romans 10 chapter mention
-
see the same rendition there. Right? Now whosoever
-
shall call upon the name of the Lord is what?
-
Yes, shall be saved. Glory to Jesus. Verse 38.
-
Verse 38. Then Peter said unto them, repent and
-
be baptized every one of you in whose name, in
-
the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of
-
what? Of sins, and ye shall receive the gift
-
of what? Does this look like what Jesus just
-
told them in Luke? That repentance and remission
-
of sins will be preached. You know, when we keep
-
reading in that Luke 24, he told the 30 year
-
in Jerusalem, what? For the promise to receive
-
the Holy Ghost. So we see Peter. Peter did not
-
change what was taught to them. The believer
-
in the name of Jesus ought not to change the
-
message. You have to stay with the message, the
-
purity of the message, the accuracy of the message.
-
You see, Peter said the same words. In fact,
-
we often say it in catatismus, that whatsoever
-
you see your neighbor is doing, copy it. Hallelujah.
-
Copy what? Copy it. Immediately you see your
-
neighbor is praying in the Holy Ghost. Don't
-
stay there and be, what is happening? What is
-
happening? No, now, no. When will I? Oh, you
-
stay somewhere at the back. He say, when will
-
my time come? When will my time? Or they say,
-
can we just pray? People are receiving the baptism
-
of the Holy Ghost. And they probably are still
-
using the old software. You know, from Casablanca,
-
where you came? You know, and then you're using
-
that old software. And then you are like, they
-
taught you that they say, let me use the word
-
that probably they told. They say Kronos time,
-
you know, or they say Kairos time. And when that
-
time comes, certain things will happen in the
-
atmosphere. And then your tongues will come.
-
And then you now come to a place, gathering of
-
believers, where we don't have Kronos or Kairos.
-
We're already in everything. And then you are
-
waiting for that, you know, probably maybe you
-
see, just change gear. You say, I think the time
-
is coming. And after that, no time again. No,
-
when you see believers are gathered, whatever
-
provision you see in that atmosphere, you are
-
part of it. So don't wait and say, when will
-
I? Somebody just said now. So what if now I now
-
start saying, am I not pretending? Brother, you're
-
not pretending. Whatever, do it. When you finish,
-
we will interpret it for you. And from that atmosphere,
-
you will grow. Next meeting, come again. Whatever.
-
We will interpret another thing for you by the
-
Spirit. By the time you do three, four, five
-
meetings with us, you're the one that will start
-
interpreting the other people's own. Glory to
-
Jesus. Peter did not change the message. The
-
same thing Jesus told them, that repentance and
-
remission of sins will be what? Will be preached.
-
Seeing the same thing, he finished saying verse
-
what? Verse 30 what? Verse 38. Then Peter said
-
unto them, repent and what? Repentance and remission
-
of sins will be preached. Is that the same word
-
he's saying? He said, and be baptized in the
-
name of Jesus Christ for the remission of what?
-
Repentance, remission of sins. Forgiveness of
-
sins. And ye shall receive what? The gift of
-
the Holy Ghost. Glory to Jesus. In the name of
-
Jesus. Acts 3 .6. Acts 3 .6. Everybody see. Then
-
Peter said, silver and gold have I none. What
-
should happen to the man? What do you have? What
-
was he saying I have? I have authority. Hallelujah.
-
What was he saying I have? I come in the office
-
of Jesus. What was he saying I have? He said
-
I come. Do you remember that we read in John?
-
He said that you shall ask from the Father in
-
my name. And the Father will what? Will do it
-
in my function, in my ability, in my office.
-
He said in my name. You shall lay hands on the
-
sick. And the sick will do what? Will rise. And
-
Peter will have that understanding. I say silver
-
and gold. I do know what? What I have. Oh boy.
-
Yes. What I have, I give what? I give unto thee.
-
Rise up on what? I walk in my name. Glory to
-
Jesus. Verse 16, 316. 316. And his name. Now
-
he was still speaking about the man that was
-
raised. Right? He say, and his name, through
-
faith in his name. had made this man, you know
-
why I just giggle now and just laugh? Let me
-
tell you what happened in my heart. You know,
-
that this man was born what? Was born lame. And
-
he was kept at that gate, and that has been his
-
surviving center. And one of the things why I
-
smiled, he said that if you have understanding
-
of my name, there is no situation, whether it's
-
from childbirth, whether it's from womb. Whether
-
he say he's genetic, whether he say he's phenotypic,
-
whether he say he's genotypic, whether he say
-
he's hemophilia, whether he say, whatsoever it
-
is, from my office, that the name of Jesus, the
-
character of Jesus, the office of Jesus can change
-
everything. You see, this thing I just said,
-
bless me. It blessed me, me, custom, it blessed
-
me. And see what he will tell them now in verse
-
16. And his name through faith in his what? In
-
his name has made this man what? Strong, whom
-
ye see and what? Know. The faith which is by
-
him had given him what? This perfect soundness
-
in the presence of how many of them all. Do you
-
remember on Sunday, I said that, you know, you
-
will see, you will do what? you will hear. When
-
we see a demonstration of the things, of the
-
events, right? From the name of Jesus, there
-
is a seeing, there is a what? There is a hearing.
-
Glory to Jesus. Are we all there? So, let's add
-
5 verse 28. I will encourage us, go and read
-
these places from Acts. I have faith. I believe
-
it. The spirit of revelation is working in our
-
hearts all year. Glory to Jesus. You will see.
-
The eyes of your understanding is open. You will
-
see it. You will see it. Even before we come
-
to the proper teaching on the name, you will
-
see it. Your place in Christ Jesus. Yes, you
-
will see it. Acts 5 .28. Are we reading it? Acts
-
14. Acts 9 verse 14. Acts 10 verse 43. In fact,
-
in the book of Acts, so many places later, so
-
many places. Acts 10 verse 43. Acts 15 verse
-
26. Acts 16 verse 18. Acts 19 verse 5. Acts 21
-
verse 13. Acts 22 verse 16. Acts 22 verse 16.
-
read all these scriptures in summary, what you're
-
going to be seeing, you're going to be seeing
-
the gospel preached and taught in his name by
-
the apostles. Amen. Number one, you will see
-
men believing in the gospel through his name.
-
Number two, you're going to see people speaking
-
with new tongues. Amen. You're going to see demons,
-
devils are casted out in his name. You're going
-
to see the sick healed in his name. You're going
-
to see the dead raised in his what? In his name.
-
And you're going to see the apostles suffering
-
in his name. Should I repeat myself? When you
-
read the book of Acts, all through the accounts
-
of Acts, you're going to see the gospel preached
-
in his name. You're going to see men believing
-
in his name. Amen? You're going to see people,
-
what I mean believing is that people are having
-
life through his name now. Right? You're going
-
to see people speaking in new tongues in his
-
name. You're going to see devils casted out.
-
In his name, amen. You're going to see the sick
-
healed in his name. You're going to see the dead
-
raised in his name. And you're going to see the
-
apostles suffering in his name. Glory to Jesus.
-
Glory to Jesus. Then now, let's do this marathon
-
in these two, three minutes. In the epistles,
-
very fast. In the epistles, Romans chapter 1,
-
verse 5. So, may just read Romans chapter 1,
Romans 1 chapter mention
-
verse what? Verse 5. Let's see what Paul will
-
say. By whom we have received what? Grace and
-
apostleship for obedience to the faith among
-
all nations for his what? For his name. For his
-
name. You understand? Yes, so put it there. Just
-
underline it. Glory to Jesus. Romans 10, 13.
-
Romans 10, 13. Romans 10, 13. For whosoever shall
-
call upon the name of the Lord shall be what?
-
It looks like where Peter was also saying the
-
same thing. Yes, Romans 10, 13. Shall be saved.
-
1 Corinthians 1, verse 2. 1 Corinthians 1, verse
-
2. Unto the church of God which is at Corinth,
-
to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus,
-
called to be saints, with all that are in every
-
place, that call upon the name of what? Jesus
-
Christ, our Lord. Both theirs and what? And ours
-
on the line there, name of Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians
-
5 verse 4. 1 Corinthians 5 verse 4. In the name
-
of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered,
-
what? Together. Pastor Fer has told us, right?
-
He has taught us extensively from Matthew, right?
-
Yes, and we understand, in this church now, we
-
understand where the church came from. Because
-
we said Ecclesia is the product of what? Of his
-
resurrection. Glory to God. So when believers
-
are gathered, when Ecclesia is gathered, it's
-
in whose name? In his name. So he said, in the
-
name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered
-
together and my spirit with the power of our
-
what? Our Lord Jesus Christ. So underline the
-
word, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Right?
-
When we gather. Glory to Jesus. 1 Corinthians
-
6 verse 11. And such. We are some of you. But
-
ye are washed. Glory to Jesus. Say, I am washed.
-
I am sanctified. I am justified in the name of
-
our Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our
-
God. Hallelujah. Glory to God. That's our reality.
-
That happened in the name. Glory to Jesus. That's
-
my ministry partner there. Yes. Glory to Jesus.
-
Then let's add this. Ephesians 5 .20. These are
-
extra scriptures. Ephesians 5 .20. Ephesians
-
5 .20. Philippians 2 .9 -11. Philippians 2 .9
-
-11. So all that we've done now is introduction.
-
Philippians 2 .9 -11. Colossians 3 .17. Let me
-
give us all the scriptures so that excessively
-
now we are done with this. We are not coming
-
back to this. Colossians 3 .17. 2 Thessalonians
-
1 verse 12. 2 Thessalonians 3 verse 6. 2 Timothy
-
2 verse 19. Hebrews 1 verse 4. Hebrews 13 verse
-
15. James 5 verse 10. James 5, verse 14. I know
-
as I just read James, now everybody should know
-
all these places because we are doing James in
-
this season. James 5, 14. James 5, 14. 1 Peter
-
4, 14. 1 Peter 4, 14. 1 Peter 4, 14. 1 John 2,
-
verse 12. 1 John 2, verse 12. 1 John 3, verse
-
23. 1 John 3, verse 23. And then lastly, 1 John
-
5, verse 13. 1 John 5, verse 13. So, when we
-
read all these places, please, when you go, when
-
you go, please cross -check all these places.
-
You're going to see, in summary, these events
-
happening. The gospel preached and taught in
-
His name. The gospel preached and taught in His
-
name. Men believing in the gospel and receiving
-
life in His name. Men believing the gospel and
-
receiving life in His name. The gospel taught
-
and preached in his name. Now we're looking at
-
Epistles, right? This is from Epistles. You're
-
going to see the gospel taught and preached in
-
his name. Men receiving life. Men believing the
-
gospel and receiving life in his name. Then you're
-
going to see healing in his name. Healing in
-
his name. And then you will see them suffering
-
in his what? In his name. Glory to Jesus. So
-
where does the father? In the name of the Father
-
and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost, come. So
-
when we come to now talk in detail, the name
-
of Jesus, you know, I've already underlined it
-
in my notes. That's the first thing we will start
-
there. Praise God. And then we will build from
-
there. And I believe the Lord is helping us.
-
Glory to Jesus. Can we just bless God, everybody?
-
Can you say, thank you, Lord? We appreciate you
-
being here today. We hope you carry this word
-
with you throughout your week. Don't forget to
