Welcome to NECF sermons. Each message here is
-
designed to uplift and strengthen you in your
-
walk with God. Don't miss out. Stay with us until
-
the end for a rewarding experience. Let's dive
-
right in. for what will be happening in our Believers
-
Conference. To set our expectation for what will
-
be happening in our Believers Conference. I want
-
to believe that we all agree that this Believers
-
Conference that we have been holding yearly is
-
actually... You know, God called himself for
-
us to gather and be strengthened, right? How
-
many of us believe that that was actually the
-
move of God? How many of us believe that it's
-
the leading of God, right? We believe that that
-
is the leading of God. That is God calling us
-
together to fellowship, calling us to do what
-
he wants to do in that season, in every season.
-
we can see that it's a form of a call to, you
-
know, assemble together, right? The Believer's
-
Conference, you know, just continuing clarifying
-
that, that is a call of God to assemble together
-
and we have these different forms of meetings.
-
It's God's call, you know, bringing us together
-
to assemble together, to hold the meeting with
-
Him, you know, having these different... Forms
-
of meetings. As we explained on Sunday. So today.
-
We want to see. So the sermon again. Is what
-
you know before I believe. Just a continuation
-
from Sunday. So we want to see. When God called
-
some people. For an assembly. Or when God told
-
people to gather. Right. What are the things
-
that we can learn. From these gatherings. Right.
-
How did people conduct themselves in such gatherings?
-
What happened in such, is it just a random gathering?
-
What happened in those gatherings? Were they
-
blessed? Were they not blessed? What were, you
-
know, the things that the people in those gatherings
-
did that made them to believe and to walk with
-
God or what they did not understand? So what
-
you're trying to check is when God called people
-
for a gathering, right? What happens there? And
-
that should also give us an expectation, right?
-
For what we are looking forward to in our charatismus,
-
in our believers conference, right? So when God
-
calls people, what happens in those gatherings?
-
Does everybody just come? They jump around, they
-
do whatsoever they want to do. Everybody can
-
lead, you know. What happens in those gatherings?
-
All right, we're going to use the story of the
-
Israelites in Exodus 19. Exodus 19, we're going
-
to use that to see when God calls the people
-
to gather, what are the things that are involved?
-
Yes, what are the things that are involved? And
-
what should be the position of the believer?
-
What should be the posture of the believer in
-
such kind of meetings? Exodus 19 from verse 1
-
to 6. Now we're going to Exodus 20, but we have
-
to start from verse 19. Because verse 19 gives
-
us the preamble or the background of what is
-
happening in Exodus 20, right? So we start from
-
Exodus 19, verse one to six. It said, in the
-
third month, when the children of Israel were
-
gone forth out of the land of Egypt, and the
-
same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai.
-
For they were departed from Rephidim, and were
-
come to the desert of Sinai. and a pitch in the
-
wilderness, and there Israel camped before the
-
mount. And Moses went up unto God, and the Lord
-
called unto him out of the mountain, saying,
-
Thou, thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob,
-
and tell the children of Israel, Yea, I have
-
seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and now I
-
bear you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto
-
myself. Now therefore, If ye will obey my voice
-
and indeed keep my commandments, then ye shall
-
be a peculiar treasure unto me. Above all, above
-
all people, for all the earth is mine. And ye
-
shall be unto me a kingdom of priests and a holy
-
nation. These are the words which thou shalt
-
speak unto the children of Israel. Right? These
-
are the words that you will speak unto the children
-
of Israel. So this is the background of what's
-
happened in Exodus 20. Tell the people, let them
-
come up. This is what I want to do. And that
-
was clear. Now, we can say this is God's intention
-
for the people, right? This is God's intention
-
for the people, for this assembly. Verse 5 and
-
6. verse 5 and 6, that when they obey his voice
-
and indeed keep his commandment, then there shall
-
be a peculiar treasure unto him above all people
-
for all their disease. And there shall be a kingdom
-
of priests and a holy nation. These are the words
-
that thou shalt speak, meaning Moses will speak
-
to the children of Israel. So we can say this
-
is God telling them what he wants to do. So God's
-
intention, right? We're going to see that God's
-
intention. Now, This is also similar to a meeting
-
or a gathering that Christ also said. Of course,
-
what was happening in those two places were different.
-
But you can just put 1 Peter 2 verse 5, because
-
this is quite very similar to that 1 Peter 2
-
verse 5, which we saw there. Let's read that
-
scripture. 1 Peter 2, verse 5, verse 9. For here
-
are living stones and are built up as a spiritual
-
house, a holy priesthood to offer up sacrifices,
-
spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through
-
Jesus Christ. Through Jesus Christ. Good. So
-
we see that here, just go back, yes, just turn
-
that back. They are living stones, they are built
-
up as a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, right?
-
So it's talking about a believer here, it's talking
-
about the church, it's talking about the body,
-
right, of Christ. And it says, They are a holy
-
priesthood to offer up spiritual sacrifices.
-
So this was also God's intention, right, for
-
Israel from that Genesis, from that Exodus 19.
-
This was God's intention that there will be a
-
priesthood that will offer spiritual sacrifices,
-
right, unto God. Okay, good. So one more scripture
-
and we'll move from there. So if you go to verse...
-
9 of that same 1 Peter 2, right? It says, But
-
ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood,
-
an holy nation, a peculiar people, that ye should
-
show forth the praises of him who hath called
-
you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
-
So we see the same word, priesthood, a holy nation,
-
a peculiar people that we find in Exodus 19.
-
What we found in Exodus 19, verse 5 and 6, right?
-
We found it in 2 Peter, 1 Peter 2, verse 6, from
-
5 to 9. So we see that this is God's intention
-
and this is what God wants to do when he calls
-
us meeting. This is God's intention. Now let's
-
go to Exodus 19, 7 to 9. 7 to 9. And Moses came
-
and called for the elders. of the people and
-
laid before their faces all those words, right?
-
All laid before their faces, all those words,
-
which the Lord commanded him. And all the people
-
answered together and said, all that the Lord
-
has spoken, we will do. And Moses returned the
-
words of the people unto the Lord. And the Lord
-
said unto Moses, Lord, I will come unto thee
-
in a thick cloud that the people may hear when
-
I speak with thee and believe thee forever. And
-
Moses told, The words of the Lord. Right? Unto
-
the people. Right? Unto the people. So, what
-
God wants to do is actually to speak to them.
-
Okay? God wants to speak to them. So, God has
-
the intention of speaking, right, to them. God
-
has the intention of speaking to them. And the
-
end result is that they might believe. Okay?
-
The end result is that they might. So, we see
-
that this is God speaking. Right? This is God
-
speaking. Caesar, I will speak to you and the
-
people will hear. It means that the people will
-
be there when God is speaking to Moses and they
-
will hear. Right? In Exodus 20, we realize that
-
the aim was for God to speak to them, that they
-
can also hear God directly. Right? They can hear
-
God directly. Now, so in the presence of Moses,
-
note that I am intentionally saying in the presence
-
of Moses, the people will hear. In the presence
-
of Moses, the people will hear. I'm saying that
-
very categorically. Reason? Because we're going
-
to come to some things that we are trying to
-
put in place for the meeting. And when we come
-
to that lesson, we'll cross it. So just put it
-
here as how God will do what he will do. 7 -9.
-
How God will do what he will do. How God will
-
do what he will do. And the outcome of it is
-
that the people should believe. So first, we
-
see God's intention. God's intention. You see
-
2 -7 -9. How God will do what he will do. And
-
I said emphasis in the prayers of Moses. God
-
will speak to the people in that meeting, in
-
that assembly, in that gathering. Okay? The third
-
one, verse 10 to 11. Verse 10 to 11. It says,
-
And the Lord said unto Moses, Go unto the people
-
and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let
-
them wash their clothes, and be ready against
-
the third day. For on the third day the Lord
-
will come down in the sight of all the people
-
upon the Mount Sinai. Right? So, you see, people
-
have to get ready. Right? So, they are coming
-
to an assembly. They are coming to a meeting.
-
Right? They are not just going to come up, turn
-
up anyhow. They are going to be ready. We see
-
the word ready there. Right? They are going to
-
be ready to come to this assembly. There is a
-
way they will appear in this assembly. There
-
is a way they will appear in this meeting. And
-
that has been communicated to them. So, this
-
is preparation. Right? This is preparation. This
-
is preparation. This is preparation. So we see
-
they are taking grace. Now verse 17, it says,
-
And Moses brought forth the people out of the
-
camp to meet with God, and they stood at the
-
near part of the mount. So under the leadership
-
of Moses, they came to the assembly. They came
-
to the meeting. They came to hear God, right?
-
They came to be blessed. They came to receive
-
what God's intention for them is. Right. This
-
is what we see. This is what we see. So haven't
-
clarified that this is like the foundation of
-
what is happening in Exodus 20. Right. So we
-
can proceed. Right. We can proceed and see what
-
we can pick. Right. What we can pick from here.
-
What we can pick from here. Just number them
-
in certain ways. But we will be able to pick
-
our own understanding and lessons. as we go into
-
our believers meeting. So firstly, there is a
-
leader in this meeting, okay? So we would pick
-
this, right? I haven't understand this background.
-
Before we go to whether they believe or they
-
didn't believe, of course, we know the story
-
in Exodus 20, right? What we can see here, firstly,
-
is that there's a leader in this meeting. It
-
is not a random meeting where there is no leader.
-
That will be chaos. That will be disorder, okay?
-
There is a leader in this meeting. In this meeting.
-
That is the first thing. So we can call this
-
leader the priest. It's the priest, right? The
-
priest is the one that is the religious, I mean,
-
Moses is the leader and you can call him the
-
priest in this case. You can call him the priest.
-
Now, you would observe that what God wants to
-
do, right, in that meeting, if you go back to
-
verse 6, is that Ye shall be unto me a kingdom
-
of priests. It means all of them will become
-
priests under the leadership of, in quotes, a
-
priest called Moses. Okay? So all of them will
-
become a priest under the leadership of Moses,
-
who is the leader, is a priest as well. And what
-
we see is that although God's intention is that
-
all of them will be priests, right? he will still,
-
Moses will still be the leader. There's a leader
-
there. He's not removing Moses as the leader,
-
right? But what he's doing through Moses, he
-
can do through them. Okay? What he's doing through
-
Moses, he can do through them. So in our context,
-
we can say that our pastors, you know, are the
-
leaders leading this meeting, leading and calling
-
us to come to understand God's intention. Okay?
-
We can say our leader is the priest, the lead
-
pastor. He's actually the priest, the pastor,
-
the lead pastor of the church. And he has a chief
-
pastor helping them. Of course, Moses also had
-
people who, just before that, verse 19, or chapter
-
19, okay? Just before that chapter 19, in verse
-
18, Moses had actually, right, sorry, in chapter
-
18, Moses had actually appointed people in verse
-
20, chapter 18, verse 24 and 25. So Moses hacking
-
to the voice of his father -in -law. So it means
-
that there's a leader and there are people supporting
-
him, right? And we have our six pastors here.
-
And also everyone that will lead on that day,
-
right? They are our leaders. They are our leaders.
-
So what is our duty? Our duty is actually to
-
follow the instruction of the leader, right?
-
So when we are given instructions on that day,
-
our job is actually to follow the instruction
-
at the spot of the moment, right? To follow the
-
instruction of now. If you observe the story
-
of Israel, which probably we are going to get
-
to, one of the challenges that they had, right,
-
was following Moses. That was one major challenge
-
they had, right? If you cannot believe and God
-
has given you a good leader who has believed,
-
One of the things is you follow them very closely.
-
So in this kind of meeting, we have to follow
-
our pastors very closely. As they are rejoicing,
-
as they are praying, as they are studying, as
-
they are writing, as they are ministering, we
-
must follow them closely. When they say, do this,
-
we follow. We obey the instructions. We give
-
ourselves to the things of the Spirit. When they
-
tell you hold someone, you do it effectively.
-
So instructions will be given. Instructions will
-
be given. By being an active participant, we
-
are blessed. By being an active participant in
-
this meeting, we are blessed. Another thing that
-
we see is that the intention of God is made known
-
in our meeting. So the intention of God is made
-
known in our meeting. is what? Who knows the
-
team for the Believers Conference? Greater works,
-
right? And we'll be coming from the beginning
-
of the year with this same team. So it means
-
that this is like full -long activation, right?
-
Let's call it that way. A full -long activation,
-
right, for greater works. A full -long activation
-
for greater works. So the intention has been
-
known. How did we know the intention? We knew
-
the intention through our little pastor. We didn't
-
wake up and create intention. for ourselves,
-
you know, like Miriam and others who said, has
-
God been, is it only God, is it only Moses that
-
God has been speaking to, right? They wanted
-
to create their own calm, right? No, we don't
-
do that, right? We follow the leading of the
-
little pastor that says, well, it's greater works
-
we are working with, right? Now, that greater
-
works, what it does, as we're seeing in Exodus
-
19, verse 1 -6, is that it should create expectations
-
in our mind. So God's intention should create
-
expectations. God's intention should create expectation.
-
So now that we know what God said he would do,
-
so while we are coming to that meeting, your
-
mind is set to receive from that meeting. God's
-
intention should create expectation. God's intention
-
should create expectation. Now, when you read
-
Hebrews 11, you will see that those... Heroes
-
of faith, in Hebrews 11, it is on the basis of
-
God's intention and message, right, that they
-
had expectation of what is to come. And that
-
was counted as faith for them. They didn't just
-
come, they didn't just live their life like,
-
oh, you know, God is not going to do what he's
-
going to do. It is on the basis of God's intention
-
for the whole earth, right, they believe. That
-
became an expectation for them. And Jesus would
-
say, Abraham longed to see my days. And he did
-
what? He saw it. Okay? So, it creates expectation.
-
When God says something, when we come to that
-
meeting, we have a mind, right, on what we want
-
to receive. We have a mind on what we want to
-
receive. As our lead pastor has opened it to
-
us, has explained to us where it works, as we
-
are teaching, that should be where your mind
-
is set. All right. Another thing we can see,
-
I think I already said this with the other one,
-
is that what God is doing is communicated through
-
our leader. I said that before, Exodus 7, verse
-
9. So what I was emphasizing that they will hear
-
God under the leadership of Moses is with respect
-
to that meeting. Okay? So I'm not saying you
-
can't hear God at home. Of course, that would
-
be very unbiblical, right? To say you don't hear
-
God or no, no, no, that would be against what
-
we have taught. But what we are saying, is that
-
as pastors will come and they will tell you that
-
the healing, you know, God is using your hand
-
to heal, right? Are you with me? That right now
-
the belief someone God is using your hand to
-
heal, you should receive that and walk in that
-
in the sport of the moment, right? So it means
-
that under that leadership, there will be so
-
many leading that will become... coming from
-
the pastors and the people that will be leading
-
us. So therefore, at the spur of that moment,
-
you should walk in that thing that you're seeing.
-
Don't be carried away. Don't think about something
-
else, right? When they say they believe that
-
there's interpretation of tongues, right? Walk
-
in it, okay? Don't say, oh, I can't do it. When
-
pastors say do it, just do it because it will
-
happen. Are we together? It will happen. This
-
should help us as we come together. So I wrote
-
this, I said, how God will do what he's doing
-
in our meeting is communicated to us by our pastors
-
and the lead pastors. The songs, the teachings,
-
all of this, right, would point us to what God
-
is doing. God is walking among us and is manifesting
-
through instructions that they give us, right?
-
So prepare again to follow the instructions.
-
Now let's see. What happens? Exodus 20. Exodus
-
20. Just write Exodus 20 down. Then, yes. Exodus
-
20. Exodus 20 from verse 18. Exodus 20 from verse
-
18. He said, and all the people saw the thunderings
-
and the lightnings. and the noise of the trumpets,
-
and the mountain smoking. And when they saw it,
-
they removed and stood afar off. And they said
-
unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear.
-
But let not God speak with us, lest we die. Did
-
you see how they changed the instructions of
-
the Lord? They converted God's message of life
-
and said, Well, lest we die. So they disbelieved.
-
what God wanted to do in that meeting, in that
-
gathering. They disbelieved it. They disbelieved
-
it. They did not believe. Now, you know, if you
-
read, if you read verse 18, it points, you know,
-
as if it's the thundering, the lightning, the
-
noise, the trumpets, and the smoking, right?
-
When the people saw it, they did what? They removed
-
fire away, right? But there were people in that
-
meeting too that believed. Moses believed, a
-
couple of persons believed. Afterwards, we knew
-
their story, that they believed in that meeting.
-
Now, nothing should distract us from God's intention.
-
Many things will be happening in Kadathism. Maybe
-
someone will be falling under the analogy. Someone
-
will be shouting. Don't be a spectator. Don't
-
be looking around and saying what is happening.
-
Let me put it in the words of that. 18. Don't
-
look at the thunders and lightnings and all of
-
that. When God will speak, God spoke with a voice.
-
Right? God spoke with a voice. God spoke to them.
-
So, don't look at the distractions. Don't let
-
it get you carried away so that you can focus
-
on what you want to receive. Don't let your friend
-
distract you. Don't let anybody distract you.
-
Right? So that you can be able to receive what
-
God is doing in that place. So, they were really...
-
carried away by all that is happening. And again,
-
one thing I observe is, if only they kept looking
-
at Moses while all the things that are happening
-
is happening, and they kept following at the
-
score of the moment, they would have believed.
-
But they got carried away, many things were happening,
-
and they told the man of God, rather than focusing
-
on what the man of God has said, they said, well,
-
you speak to us, right? You know, sometimes I
-
think, why didn't they ask Moses? Moses, why
-
is all this thundering? and all of these things
-
happening, we want to believe God, you know,
-
these things are, they are just all around. Maybe
-
he could have explained, but rather, they explained
-
to him that you see this communication of God
-
is dead unto us. You see the reverse. They could
-
have asked him questions, why is all this happening?
-
Right? In fact, Moses later replied them, even
-
when they did not ask him. They did not ask him
-
a question. Go to verse 19. Moses actually answered
-
them, although they did not ask him a question,
-
which I was expecting them, you know, maybe they
-
could ask. Verse 19 says, And they said unto
-
Moses, Speak thou to us, lest we will die. Speak
-
thou to us, and we will hear. Lest God speak
-
with us, lest we die. And verse 20, look at what
-
Moses said. And Moses said unto them, Fear not,
-
for God has come to prove you that his fear may
-
be before your faces, that ye may say not. Right?
-
And the people again stood afar off and Moses
-
drew them into the deep darkness where God was.
-
So Moses is telling them that God has come to
-
reveal himself to you, that he might speak to
-
you. You might know him and he might know you.
-
Right? So a fellowship is what God wanted. God
-
came to reveal himself. After this time, there's
-
no other time that God said, bring them again.
-
Let me reveal myself to them. They just kept
-
receiving true proxies. you know, started receiving
-
true information, prophets, judges, kings, that
-
about, right? So, but yet we knew that that God's
-
intention to speak directly to them was not suspended,
-
was still valid, but there was no time they had
-
to gather again and begin to receive this. So
-
we see that Moses communicated the reason for
-
them, which was what they were supposed to ask.
-
So when there's a distraction, avoid distractions,
-
right? For us, it's not unto believing. We have
-
believed, right? Are we together? We have believed.
-
We have believed. But for us to take hold of
-
what God is doing in our meetings, we must avoid
-
destruction. Okay? We must avoid destructions
-
as much as we can. So we can say that although
-
God communicated his intention, right? Moses
-
explained to them and God fulfilled. Did you
-
see that God fulfilled? God fulfilled his intention
-
in that meeting. Did God speak to them? Yes.
-
God fulfilled his intention in that meeting.
-
That's another point that we should put. When
-
God says I will come and I will do something,
-
it is I am that I am. He is going to do it. So,
-
whatever we have received. In fact, from this
-
week, you should start receiving. From this week,
-
you should start receiving. By the time you receive
-
it, by the time you enter into the Believer's
-
Conference, it will be abundance. Right? It will
-
be flow in abundance. You will not struggle.
-
To flow. It will be abundant. So this week, you
-
should take time out as we are fasting. You take
-
time out to pray. Take time out to really sit
-
down and hear. Study the scripture. Pay attention.
-
You are just zoning your mind. So that when the
-
word starts coming next week, you'll be catching
-
it very fast. You'll be catching it. Your signal
-
will be very high. You'll be catching it very
-
fast. Right? You'll not be waiting. You know
-
that sometimes. There are some teachings that
-
they give us. For a long time, if you don't hear
-
that teaching, when the teaching comes, right?
-
Although you have believed, you start, is that
-
the scripture? Your mind will start doing that.
-
Instead of you catching it immediately and running
-
with it, you start. So now is the time to prepare
-
your mind. So let's prepare our mind so that
-
we can receive in abundance. So that the expectation,
-
we can see when God is fulfilling it. Are we
-
together? We can see when. God fulfilled it,
-
but they didn't see it. They translated it to
-
be something else. So in our meeting, God will
-
fulfill what he has said he will do. Praise God.
-
How many of us believe that God will fulfill
-
what he has said he will do? Can we shout glory?
-
Glory, yes. God will fulfill what he has said
-
he will do. God will fulfill. So God gave them
-
what to build expectation on in the communication
-
of what he will do. The kingdom of priests, a
-
holy nation. For us, it's greater works. Greater
-
works than we have done. We keep doing greater
-
works. And I said, Hebrews 10. Okay, so we can
-
just add Hebrews 11 .10. Of course, I think I
-
quoted Matthias. I mentioned Matthias. I'm going
-
to go to Hebrews 11 .10 just to see the case
-
of Abraham. Hebrews 11 .10. And I waited for
-
the city which has foundations, whose builder
-
and maker, is God. This was Abraham looking forward
-
to, you know that thing that we see, a holy nation,
-
royal priesthood, the church. Moses wrote that.
-
Abraham looked forward to this city. So, did
-
God, can we say, that that has been said, did
-
God fulfill it? Yes, he did. Although Israel,
-
there are many people who didn't believe, God
-
still fulfilled what he did. So, It's not just
-
about us. When God says he will do something,
-
he will do it. So what we see here is that Abraham
-
looked forward to that city whose builder and
-
maker is God. And God did it. God did it. So
-
majorly what Abraham was looking for was what
-
God communicated to Israel. It wasn't something
-
new for the first time in the scriptures. What
-
Moses communicated to Israel is what Abraham
-
waited for. He saw it, he received it in typologies.
-
So good. So we see that the expectation, the
-
hope, which is faith in what God will do, and
-
it is in and after the meeting. So we have to
-
have faith in what God will do in that meeting
-
and after that meeting. So it's not just that
-
we'll finish charismas on Saturday, right? And
-
we're like, okay, it's over and we just... No,
-
no, no, no. We know that we carry that... Throughout,
-
until the next believer's meeting. Until the
-
next believer's meeting. So, while you are receiving,
-
right? While you are receiving, be thinking of,
-
Lord, for the next one year, before we come back
-
to this, okay, to this camp again, just as it
-
came to my mind, right? Before we come back to
-
this camp again, before we come back to this
-
gathering again, right? There are things that
-
I'm looking forward to you doing, using me for.
-
Greater works beyond measures. Greater works
-
beyond measures. So we look forward to what God
-
will do in that meeting and after that meeting.
-
In that meeting and after that meeting. And when
-
we go to Exodus 20, we saw that they didn't believe,
-
right? They didn't believe. Yet, God still established
-
the church. God still established a nation. And
-
the whole earth is actually His. Now, if you
-
go to that verse. Verse 5 of 19, it said, for
-
the old head is mine, right? So God will fill
-
the earth with his word. He will fill the earth
-
with people who have believed. He will fill the
-
old heads with his people, his nation. So this
-
is what we see. And we can also bring another
-
gathering, right? And see, for those ones, we
-
know that, okay, they said, lest we die, right?
-
They said, lest we die. But let's go to Acts.
-
Let's go to Acts. We'll see the same pattern.
-
Of God's intention. Right? And Jesus communicated
-
1. From verse 4. Acts chapter 1 from verse 4.
Acts 1 chapter mention
-
A meeting where people believe. They have expectation.
-
They receive. And they throw. Right? As compared
-
to the ones with Moses and the wilderness. Most
-
of them did not. And being assembled together
-
with them, commanded them that they should not
-
depart from Jerusalem. They commanded them that
-
they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait
-
for the promise of the Father, which saith he,
-
which saith he, ye have heard of me. For John
-
truly baptized with water, but ye shall be baptized
-
with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. And
-
when they therefore... We have come together.
-
They asked of him, you see, saying, Lord, will
-
thou at this time restore again the kingdom of
-
Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for
-
you to know the times or season which the fire
-
hath put in its power. Again, Jesus now explained
-
more clearly. For ye shall receive power after
-
the Holy Ghost is come upon you, and ye shall
-
be witnesses unto me, both in Jerusalem and all
-
Judea and in Samaria. and onto the uttermost
-
parts of the earth, right? Onto the uttermost
-
parts of the earth. So we see that in this meeting,
-
the communication of what God wants to do in
-
the life of the disciples was clear, right? Also
-
God's intention was clear. Jesus said they will
-
receive what? Power, right? In the other one,
-
they were calling them into salvation. In this
-
one, it says they will receive power, right?
-
When? the Holy Ghost hath come upon them, and
-
they will be witnesses unto him. Now, this is
-
God's intention. Now, we see that in chapter
-
2, it was fulfilled. Again, God's intention fulfilled.
-
A people waiting, a people having expectation,
-
looking forward to receiving power. Right? We'll
-
see it from that verse 1 of chapter 2. He said,
-
when the day of the Holy Ghost was fully come,
-
they were all with one accord in one place. Right?
-
This is different from the other ones that said,
-
well, don't speak to us, lest we die. That's
-
disorder. Your leader said, God will give you
-
life. You said, no, it is death. Now, that's
-
disorder. But here, he said they were in one
-
accord. It means that they were all expecting.
-
Right? They were looking forward to this power.
-
They were looking forward to what God would do.
-
They were looking forward to receiving. Right?
-
And suddenly, there came a sound. from heaven
-
as a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the
-
house where they were sitting. And there appeared
-
unto them tongues like of fire, and it sat upon
-
each of them. And they were all filled with the
-
Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues,
-
as the Spirit gave them all tongues. So they
-
were filled with the Holy Ghost, and they began
-
to speak with other tongues. as the Spirit gave
-
them order. Now, they could have said, what is
-
this? Let's look at how it is put in verse 2.
-
And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as
-
a rushing mighty wind, and it all filled the
-
house where they were sitting. Now, so this kind
-
of description, we have a couple of them in Acts.
-
Acts chapter 4 gave the same illustration. Let's
Acts 4 chapter mention
-
29. It said, And now, Lord, behold their threatenings.
-
and grant unto thy servants that with all boldness
-
they may speak thy word, by stretching forth
-
thy hand to him, and that signs and wonders may
-
be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.
-
When they had prayed, the place was shaking where
-
they were assembled together, and they were filled
-
with the Holy Ghost, and they began to speak.
-
they began to speak the word of the Lord with
-
boldness. So again, mighty rushing wind, right?
-
In that picture, here we see the place where
-
they were was shaking, right? Just as they saw
-
the lightnings and thunders and all of that,
-
right? In the house of apostles, we've seen this
-
figure, this picture again, painted here, something
-
like a mighty rushing wind. So it means something
-
actually happened in that garden. Something happened
-
in that garden. So the place where they were,
-
they were shaking. However, in all the shaking
-
and in all the migration, they were not distracted.
-
They focused on the expectation of what they
-
wanted. Now, at 4 .30, what were they expecting?
-
They were expecting that they would be able to
-
have boldness to speak the word. Did it happen?
-
Yes. So they spoke the word much more with all
-
boldness. That was their prayer, right? They
-
prayed and they received that. And they spoke
-
the word much more. Here they were waiting to
-
receive. power, right? They were waiting to receive
-
power and they did receive the power. So, the
-
communication of what God is doing or what God
-
wanted to do in the disciples' life was fulfilled.
-
They've been together in one accord, in one focusing
-
and waiting to receive power. Now, another thing
-
we will see there is that they also had leadership,
-
okay? They also had leadership, right? They also
-
had leadership. We go to 2 verse 14. 2 verse
-
14, Acts. But Peter's standing up with the 11.
-
So, from verse 12, it says, And they were all
-
amazed and were in doubt, saying to one another,
-
What meaneth this? Others mocking said, These
-
men are full of new wine. Right? These men are
-
full of new wine. And as a result of that, right,
-
one of them could just pop up and say, well,
-
you think we are full of new wine? You know,
-
let me show you the new wine or do something
-
very interesting. But nobody responded. But Peter
-
stood up, right? Peter stood up, standing up
-
with the leaven, lifted up his voice and said
-
unto them, Ye men of Judea and all that dwell
-
at Jerusalem, be this known unto you and akin
-
unto my word, for these are not drunken. So,
-
fulfillment of God's intention in the life of
-
the disciples, in the life of everyone who will
-
believe, right, as part of identification with
-
them. So, we see that in this context. So, they
-
had leadership. There was an expectation. There
-
was God's intention, expectation. They believed.
-
There was leadership. They were together. in
-
one accord, right? They were together in one
-
accord. So this is what we see, right? This is
-
what we see in these meetings. So let's see.
-
One other thing that we can expect, one thing
-
that we should expect much more is that which
-
we started seeing from Acts 4. Yes, from Acts
-
4. Let's start seeing. So as we now, as those
-
that have believed, as those that have the Spirit
-
of God, as those that walk and lead in Christ.
-
Now, what should be our expectation as we come
-
to this meeting? One of the expectations is that
-
we will be filled with the Spirit, right? We
-
will be filled with the Spirit. It means we will
-
be stirred up in the Spirit. I think Pastor Victor
-
gave sufficient time to teach that, that we can
-
be stirred up again. While we have been filled,
-
we receive. Right? We can't just tear it up.
-
And in some places, the Bible, in the book of
-
Acts, used the same word, filled. Right? To refer
-
to the stirring of the Spirit of God within the
-
believer. Within the believer. Now, it's happened
-
to some people, the aspect of being filled, but
-
I think I would just like to focus on only the
-
one in the book of Acts. There was one in Luke
-
where we have the case of Elizabeth, we have
-
the case of Zechariah, but they didn't have the
-
indwelling, but still an example in the Spirit.
-
An explanation of, you know, something's tearing
-
up to being filled. So, let's focus on Acts,
-
8. Acts chapter 4, verse 8. Then Peter filled
-
with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers
-
of the people and elders of Israel. Right? Now,
-
this is Peter. It says, Peter filled with the
-
Holy Ghost. The same Peter that stood up in Acts
Acts 1 chapter mention
-
chapter 1. Again, it says filled with Holy Ghost.
-
Now, it's not like he's just receiving power
-
again, but it means that there is a filling.
-
It means he's full of the Holy Ghost. That's
-
another word for it. Full of the Holy Ghost means
-
what is inside of him, right? He's full of it.
-
It means there's a stirring within him. And when
-
there is a stirring of the Holy Ghost, being
-
filled with the Holy Ghost, we see several great
-
manifestations. So in this meeting, we will be
-
filled with the Holy Ghost. We will be full of
-
the Holy Ghost. Just like Peter was full of the
-
Holy Ghost in this day. And what happens? They
-
speak. Consistently when they are full of the
-
Holy Ghost, they speak, right? They speak. They
-
speak in tongues. They prophesy. They teach the
-
word. When they are full of the Holy Ghost, this
-
is what happens. So in that meeting, as we come
-
together, we will be full of the Holy Ghost.
-
So what did he do? If this day, and we this day
-
be examined of the good deeds done by the important
-
man. So he gave an explanation. But be it known
-
unto all and to all the people of Israel that
-
by the name of Jesus of Nazareth, whom ye have
-
crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even
-
by him doeth this man stand here before you whole.
-
So a miracle has taken place. They're questioning
-
him. He wants to have an answer. And he was full
-
of the Holy Ghost, filled with the Holy Ghost,
-
and he's paid. Okay, that's after Acts 2. Now
-
Acts 6, 5, let's see. So we will be full of the
-
Holy Ghost. Everyone here will be full of the
-
Holy Ghost and we will walk in diverse manifestations,
-
demonstrations. That's chapter 5 and 6, right?
-
And the same please the whole multitude. And
-
they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and the
-
Holy Spirit. And Philip, Procurus, Nicanor, Timon,
-
Parmenas, and Nicholas, a proselyte from Antioch.
-
So men full of the Holy Ghost. Now, it seems
-
to be that These people, let me put it this way,
-
they are barely out of the Holy Ghost, if there's
-
anything like that. It's like these ones on the
-
spot, regular. When you come close to them, let's
-
put it the way we used to, they are always on
-
fire. They don't have a coming down. Let's put
-
it that way, right? They're always full of the
-
Holy Ghost, full of faith, right? This word,
-
full of faith and the Holy Spirit, means that
-
there is no room for, there is no room, let me
-
put it this way, there is no room for the flesh.
-
There's no joking around. There's no playing
-
around. When you come around them, you get the
-
word, you get the impactation that you need,
-
right? And those are the people they found to
-
put in charge of this work, this distribution
-
and this responsibility of Sherwood. Men full
-
of doling. So we can also say that whatever you'll
-
be doing that day, whether you manage to be in
-
media, you should know that you should be full
-
of the Holy Ghost. Right? If you carry a camera,
-
be full of, if you know it before, drop it and
-
be full of the Holy Ghost. Right? If you drop
-
the camera and do what you should do or a point
-
a certain time where you quickly do it and drop
-
it. So whether we are in media, we are in ocean,
-
we are cooking, we are doing, whatever we are
-
doing, make sure that you are part of that experience
-
of being full of the Holy Ghost. Make sure you
-
are part of that experience of being full of
-
the Holy Ghost. Now we see 7 verse 55, at 7 verse
-
55 that, A dying man, right? A man that was,
-
you know, let's read. That was the case of Stephen.
-
Now, verse 54. When they heard these things,
-
they were caught to their hearts and they gnashed
-
on him with their teeth. Verse 54, sorry. And
-
verse 5. But he, being full of the Holy Ghost,
-
looked obstinately into heaven and saw the glory
-
of God and Jesus standing on the right hand.
-
And he said, behold, I see, see, saying something
-
again. I see the heavens open. and the Son of
-
Man standing on the right hand of God. Again,
-
full of the legos. Even at the points where people
-
were against him. So, we can be full of the legos
-
at all times. Even much more as we come together
-
in this meeting. As we come together in this
-
meeting. Acts 11 verse 24. 11 verse 24. For I
-
was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and faith,
-
and... great many people were added to the Lord,
-
right? So I think we need to read a little bit
-
of that. Let's move from verse 21. And the hand
-
of the Lord was with them, and a great number
-
believed and turned unto the Lord. Then the tithes
-
of this thing came unto the ears of the church,
-
which was in Jerusalem, and they sent forth Barnabas
-
that he should go as far as Antioch. who, when
-
he came, had seen the grace of God, was glad
-
and exalted them all, that with purpose of heart
-
they would cleave unto the Lord. For he was a
-
good man, full of the Holy Ghost and faith. And
-
much people were added unto the Lord. Right?
-
Full of the Holy Ghost. I think the last one
-
is just Acts 13, verse 52. Acts 13. Verse 52.
-
Scripture. Acts 7, verse 52. And the disciples
-
were filled with joy and the Holy Ghost. Now,
-
what happened? Why were they filled with joy
-
and the Holy Ghost in this country? Let's see.
-
Verse 48. It says, And when the Gentiles, I think
-
we read this on Sunday. So when the Gentiles
-
heard this, they were glad and glorified the
-
word of the Lord. And as many as were ordained
-
to eternal life believed. And the word. of the
-
Lord was published throughout the region. But
-
the Jews teared up the devout and honorable women
-
and the chief men of the city and raised persecution
-
against Paul and Barnabas and expelled them out
-
of their courts. But they shook off the dust
-
of their feet against them and came unto Iconium.
-
And the disciples were filled with joy and the
-
Holy Ghost. So again here, disciples they met
-
were filled with joy and the Holy Ghost. So they
-
were filled with joy and the Holy Ghost. So this
-
is our expectation for the believers meeting.
-
This is what we should expect to see. Now, when
-
they are filled with joy, right? When we are
-
full of the Holy Spirit, we speak, we give the
-
word of wisdom, we give the word of knowledge,
-
we give the signing of spirit. We work much more
-
with clarity and accuracy in the gifts. of the
-
Holy Spirit, right? We work much more. We work
-
much more in clarity and accuracy in giving.
-
So we should expect this. We should expect this.
-
All right, so what are a few counsel, right,
-
that we should give before we pray? We pray in
-
a few minutes, right, to stay ourselves up even
-
this evening. What are a few counsel that we
-
can give as we look forward to being full of
-
the Holy Ghost, as we look forward to receiving
-
the Word, as we look forward to being impacted,
-
as we look forward to following instructions
-
that pastors will be leading, as we look forward
-
to following the leading, what are the things
-
that we should start preparing for? Now, from
-
now, you should start avoid sleeping late. Okay?
-
Start avoid sleeping late. Let your, whether
-
it's your sleeping clock or I don't know what
-
they call it, let it know that you start waking
-
up early and you'll be coming back by five. So
-
you need to program yourself. You need to start
-
preparing your mind for that. You need to stop
-
sleeping late. Reduce eating too much. So that
-
you're not being kind of this one's and you'll
-
be desiring food to eat. You'll be longing. No,
-
no, no, no. It's a long ride. And I want to believe
-
the market is far from here. Farther than where
-
we used to be. Oh, this one. Maybe we'll lock
-
the door. When you're coming, there's no going
-
out. So let's, let's, let's. Now we are waiting.
-
As you are waiting, your body will be adjusting.
-
I know day one fasting, you know, it might be
-
very odd. This is day three now or day four,
-
right? So, day three. Okay, okay. Pastor started
-
on last week. He just fell off in between. I
-
wanted to ask his God. It happened like that.
-
All right. So, we are in day three, right? So,
-
your body should have adjusted so that when you
-
come for that meeting, You are not, of course,
-
there will be lunchtime. But before that, you
-
don't get strained out. In fact, you can reduce
-
what you eat in that route. If they give you
-
portion, eat half. So that you don't, you remain
-
full. You know, you remain full. All right. I'm
-
just trying to say that we should, you know,
-
pay attention, right, to what we do. Our conduct
-
in the God. Set time to pray. Set time to pray
-
in the course of this week. Set time to pray.
-
Don't be fasting without praying. If you're fasting
-
without praying, it's what? Hunger strike. When
-
you fast and you don't pray, you don't do anything,
-
it's hunger strike. So please pray. Study the
-
word, right? Study the word. Study the meetings
-
that we have, all the previous teachings that
-
we've gone through. Study them. Pay attention
-
to them. Now this is you setting, like practically
-
setting expectation now. Right? This is you practically
-
setting expectation. You not ignoring God's intention
-
in that meeting. Right? You not ignoring. God's
-
intention in that meeting. You're not ignoring
-
God's intention in that meeting. So we're not
-
distracted. We are set. Our mind is set to receive.
-
We are ready to receive. We are not like those
-
of the wilderness, but we are much more those
-
that are ready, right, to partake in the move
-
of God. Now, this is the move. There will be
-
a move of God, right? It means God's leading,
-
God's direction. God telling us what to do, clarity,
-
breaking things, and remolding us in ways that
-
will help us to do the work of ministry much
-
more. Can we be on our feet just for the next
-
five minutes that we have? Can we just pray?
-
Can we just tear ourselves up in the Holy Ghost
-
just for this next five minutes? It's part of
-
the way of setting our expectation, what you
-
want to see in that meeting. We appreciate you
-
being here today. We hope you carry this word
-
with you throughout your week. Don't forget to
-
check the show notes for additional insights.
