Welcome to NECF Sermons. Each message here is
-
designed to uplift and strengthen you in your
-
walk with God. Don't miss out. Stay with us until
-
the end for a rewarding experience. Let's dive
-
right in. There is mighty expression of his power
-
in Zion. Hallelujah. Now it shall come to pass.
-
Micah chapter 4 verse 1 I want you to see one
-
of most fundamental expressions of God's power
-
Micah chapter 4 verse 1 says now we shall come
-
to pass in the latter days that what that the
-
mountain of the lost house so Zion is is symbolic
-
the mountain is symbolic of a place of fellowship
-
a place of what a place of communion the house
-
of god oftentimes we will look at it littered
-
all around scriptures the mountains a lot of
-
activities happens on mountains and is very very
-
very important says the mountain that the mountain
-
of the lost house shall be established on top
-
of the mountains which means there are other
-
mountains but there is a mountain of the lost
-
house hallelujah and shall be exalted above the
-
hills and people shall what people shall flow
-
to it to which mountain the mountain of the lost
-
house hallelujah verse two many nations these
-
nations has to do with people or we see nations
-
in scriptures it refers to people many people
-
shall come and say come let us go up to the mountain
-
of the lord to the house of god of all of jacob
-
because there are other mountains but this mountain
-
particularly is of the house of the god of jacob
-
what will happen at the mountain what is the
-
expression of the power of god in the mountain
-
he will teach us what his ways hallelujah he
-
will teach us his ways he will teach us his ways
-
and we in response to teaching us his ways shall
-
what shall walk in his path okay for out of zion
-
the lord shall go forth and the word of the lord
-
from where from jerusalem was treated he shall
-
judge between many peoples in the mountain of
-
the lord in zion there shall be judgment and
-
the big strong nations are far off They shall
-
beat their sword into process and their spears
-
into pruning roots. Nation shall not lift up
-
swords against nation. Neither shall they learn
-
war anymore. That's for. But everyone shall what?
-
This is what will happen. A Zion. For everyone
-
shall sit under his vine and under his fig tree,
-
vine fig tree, Mountains are all symbolic expressions
-
of the Guardian of Eden which is talking about
-
the presence of God which is talking about fellowship
-
which is talking about relationship with God
-
but everyone shall sit under his vine under his
-
fig tree and no one shall make them afraid for
-
the mouth of the Lord of hosts has spoken verse
-
five for all people work each in the name of
-
his God other gods not the God that we know all
-
people talking about all nations other nations
-
work in the name of his god but we will happen
-
we will work in the name of the lord our god
-
forever and ever hallelujah but then we must
-
have to be taught we must be taught of the ways
-
of the lord so we see the expressions of gospel
-
let's have a seat let's have a seat So we'll
-
see the expression of God's power in the teaching
-
of his ways at Mount Zion. Hallelujah Let's see
-
another example in Matthew chapter 5 When Jesus
Matthew 5 chapter mention
-
came mountains are very significant Yeah, very
-
significant in communicating an idea of God's
-
plan We're going to go deeper and look at much
-
more of the significance, but let's see another
-
example of what happened at mountains There are
-
several examples in scriptures, but give me Matthew
Matthew 5 chapter mention
-
chapter 5. Yes and seeing the multitude who went
-
up on a mountain and when he was seated his disciples
-
came to him and what did he do to them and he
-
opened his mouth and told them saying blessed
-
are the poor in spirit for there is the kingdom
-
of heaven blessed are those who mourn for they
-
shall be comforted and on and on and on we see
-
that in that chapter from chapter five up to
-
chapter chapter seven was jesus teaching interrupt
-
uninterrupted uninterrupted but he went up the
-
mountain mountains are very significant hallelujah
-
and by the grace of god we are already in the
-
mountain of the lord well on the mountain of
-
the lord we are in christ hallelujah and in this
-
season we're going to express we're going to
-
enjoy the mighty expression of god's power and
-
in this meeting in this week i see god unveiling
-
to us his plan and his purpose i see god opening
-
us to his plan and his purpose in the name of
-
jesus i see god revealing his plan and his purpose
-
for each and every one of us we work in clarity
-
of focus we work in clarity with understanding
-
we know what god demands of us we know how to
-
do the things that god has called us to do we
-
know how to manage the circumstances that present
-
themselves to us we know our identity in christ
-
we're able to know who god is we're able to know
-
who god what god has done for us we're able to
-
know our response to what god has done for us
-
we're able to know our responsibility what god
-
is doing we shall know the ways of the lord in
-
this season our eyes are open to the ways of
-
the lord and we work mightily in the ways of
-
the lord father we thank you for the expression
-
of your power thank you for the expression of
-
your power thank you lord that we are in zion
-
there were men that have been moved out of egypt
-
and have been brought into a place of fellowship
-
with you hallelujah second corinthians chapter
-
five the five says for we do not comment ourselves
-
again to you but give you opportunity to boast
-
on our behalf that you may have an answer for
-
those who boast in appearance and not in their
-
heart for if we are beside ourselves is for god
-
or if we are of some mind it is for you verse
-
14 For the love of Christ compares us because
-
we just us that if one died for all then all
-
have died And he died for all that is Jesus died
-
for all he died for us He died for all the all
-
here encompasses all humanity not only Christians
-
Christ died for all all right He died for all
-
that those who live how will we live in him by
-
believing that those who live should no longer
-
those who live should live no longer for themselves
-
but for him who died for them and rose again
-
hallelujah so we judge that what that christ
-
has died for all and we that are alive in him
-
of not to live for ourselves but to live for
-
him who for our sake died and was rose again
-
hallelujah so in the course of this meeting we're
-
going to express we're going to see how we can
-
live for him what it takes to live for him we're
-
succeeding therefore from now on we regard no
-
one according to the flesh for all that are in
-
christ for all that are believers for all that
-
have come to know him we regard you no longer
-
as an ordinary man but a man or a woman that
-
is of the spirit Because you believe in Jesus
-
you believe that he died for you and was raised
-
again we Therefore now regard you not according
-
to the flesh even though we have known Christ
-
Previously according to the flesh yet now we
-
know him thus no longer verse 17 therefore If
-
anyone is in Christ anyone in Christ is a new
-
creation All things have what I've passed with
-
you all things has to do with the former life
-
the former nature which we have that is of the
-
flesh has passed away has died so the identity
-
you have right now is the identity of a new man
-
the identity that we have right now is the identity
-
of the spirit that is recreated in Christ Jesus
-
so you are in Christ it means that you are a
-
new creation all things of what have passed away
-
ប ប ប ប ប ប ប that is in christ there is no accusation
-
against the man who is in christ hallelujah so
-
all things are of god who has the concern to
-
himself through jesus christ and has what look
-
at verse 18 carefully he has committed to us
-
and has given us who is the us here the us is
-
a believer not only that you are a recreated
-
man but you have been given a ministry so the
-
online thing that i want to portray this morning
-
is that you the believer has been given a ministry
-
if you are waiting for an ordination your ordination
-
is at salvation hallelujah what qualifies you
-
to ministry is the salvation that you have received
-
it says who has reconciled us to himself through
-
jesus christ and has given us by virtue of the
-
reconciliation we have we are now qualified to
-
be in ministry and that ministry is a ministry
-
of reconciliation that is this is our message
-
this is our ministry this is the context this
-
is the background this is the content of our
-
ministry this is the message of our ministry
-
that is 19 that god was in christ that we're
-
going to be preaching we will be expanding that
-
God was in Christ what was he doing reconciling
-
the world himself not imputing not accounting
-
not associating sin with men in Christ not imputing
-
their trespasses to them and has what committed
-
to us the word of reconciliation now we are what
-
we are representatives hallelujah We are what
-
we are ambassadors for Christ you mean We are
-
representative for Christ remember man was created
-
to be a representative of God man was created
-
in Genesis chapter 1 verse 26 28 Talks about
-
man created in the image of God. I will explain
-
time and time that that image has to do with
-
what? Representation of God on the earth so the
-
Mary created in Christ is now a representation
-
of god on the earth you are now an ambassador
-
for christ as though god were pleading through
-
us so god acts through you okay employ you us
-
employ you on christ's behalf be reconciled to
-
god for he made him who knew no sin to be seen
-
for us that we might become what the righteousness
-
of god in him hallelujah so the fundamental thing
-
to underline here is that you are a man and a
-
woman in ministry okay that god has recreated
-
you in christ jesus and has committed to you
-
a ministry say i have a ministry we have a ministry
-
we have a ministry hallelujah so it's important
-
for us to be remembered to be reminded and to
-
remember that we are in ministry it doesn't matter
-
the career that you've chosen it doesn't matter
-
the part of life you've chosen to work as a vocation
-
a teacher whatever it is a doctor whatever your
-
career is fundamentally by virtue of your spiritual
-
identity you are a representation of God and
-
you are a minister of God and the content of
-
your ministry is to reconcile me to God so it
-
becomes necessary for us to understand the ways
-
of the Lord that which God has done so that we
-
can effectively do what God has called us to
-
do hallelujah that is the reason for this season
-
that is the reason for what for the believers
-
meeting that we will gather together at Mount
-
Zion we are in Mount Zion that we will be tabernacle
-
together and that we will be explained we will
-
be you know equipped in the ways of the Lord
-
to know what God has done to know what God is
-
expecting of us to know what God is doing right
-
now the way will be equipped to do that work
-
which is what which is a work of ministry hallelujah
-
it requires vigorousness to know the ways of
-
the Lord it requires teaching to know the ways
-
of the Lord it requires that mountain experience
-
that mountain experience has to do with the commitment
-
to know the ways of the Lord says many nations
-
shall come to see come let us go up to the mountain
-
of the lord to the house of the god of jacob
-
he will teach us his ways and we shall walk in
-
his path by the teaching of the race of god all
-
right we will walk in his path but how does god
-
teach us his ways how does god teach us his ways
-
does it come down in form of clouds and fire
-
to teach us his ways amen officials chapter 3
-
verse 11 let's see how god will teach us his
-
ways and the essence of teaching us his ways
-
is that we will walk in his path we will do what
-
he has called us to do and he himself gave some
-
apostles four four Give me energy that amplified
-
they will go about it. You can James Your responsibility
-
is to what is to equip God's people to do what?
-
to do his work and build up the church the body
-
of Christ amplified And he did this what did
-
he do he gave the apostles he gave the prophets
-
he gave the evangelists and the pastors the teachers
-
okay the pastoring teachers pastors are teachers
-
in fact in a nutshell all of them are teachers
-
and he did this to fully equip to fully equipped
-
and perfect the sense that is gospel for what
-
for works of service for the works of service
-
to perfect the sins. Who are the sins? The sins
-
are those who are in Christ. The sins are those
-
who are born again. The sins are those who believe
-
in Jesus Christ. The moment you believe in Jesus
-
Christ, you are a saint. There's no need for
-
any special canonical ceremony to canonize you
-
as a saint. You are a saint in Christ the moment
-
you believe in Jesus Christ. ប ប ប ប ប ប to build
-
up the body of Christ can we see this also in
-
in let's have message let's see a paraphrase
-
translation verse 12 a message translation do
-
you have message he said no all right verse 13
-
verse 13 in the nick and james till we all come
-
to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge
-
of the son of god the perfect man and to the
-
measure of the statue of the fullness of Christ.
-
Okay? Then we see more of the result that we
-
should no longer be children tossed to and fro
-
and carried about with every wind of doctrine
-
by the trickling of men in the cunning craftiness
-
of deceitful plotting. Now, this is not talking
-
about unbelievers. It's talking about believers.
-
Believers can be carried away by every wind of
-
doctrine. believe us can be deceived by any kind
-
of doctrine therefore the necessary the necessity
-
rather for us to be grounded in the ways of the
-
lord therefore it is important that the saint
-
ghost people be grounded in the ways of the lord
-
that they should know the ways of the lord without
-
knowing the ways of the lord we cannot be better
-
representative of god we cannot be better ambassadors
-
for god we cannot be men that will represent
-
god very well so therefore they need for us to
-
be grounded in what in the ways of the lord hallelujah
-
that we will not be tossed to and fro by every
-
wind that comes along every confusion that comes
-
takes us away so the essence of this season the
-
essence of the believers conference we are certain
-
today we've started already is that we will be
-
rooted in the ways of the lord in being rooted
-
in the words of the Lord we will not be shaken
-
we will be like that house that is built on a
-
solid rock and the wind will blow the rain will
-
come the storm will come but we will not be moved
-
because we are grounded we are rooted in Christ
-
that the trials and temptations of life will
-
not chalk that which God has done in us because
-
we are rooted that when persecution will arise
-
for the sake of our identity for the sake of
-
our calling and our identity we will not be moved
-
because we are rooted we know the ways of the
-
lord we understand the ways of the lord we are
-
rooted in the ways of the lord therefore it is
-
necessary for us what to know the ways of the
-
lord to be taught the ways of the lord it's important
-
for us to be reminded of the ways of the lord
-
to be reminded of our mandate For us to be explained
-
what God is expecting of the believer As we go
-
out to announce that God in Christ has forgiven
-
sin is necessary that we understand the technicalities
-
of what Christ has done That we will be equipped
-
enough to explain what Christ has done That we
-
will be confident enough to explain what Christ
-
has done and this will come in demonstration
-
of the spirit and power this will come by training
-
this will come by what by teaching by doctrine
-
and that is what god is doing in this season
-
and we are sharpened we are made ready we are
-
equipped we are prepared we are refreshed fresh
-
fire in our bones yi yi yi yi yi yi that we will
-
be that city on the mountain that we will shine
-
bright and men will see and give glory to God
-
that men will be attracted to the plan and the
-
purpose of God by virtue of what God has done
-
in us that we he will teach us his ways and we
-
will walk in his path for out of Zion the law
-
of God shall go forth hallelujah so it is ghost
-
desire for us to understand that because every
-
man in christ is a minister every man in christ
-
is a minister now let's go into much more the
-
theme that god will want us to keep considering
-
in the course of this this uh this conference
-
greater works john chapter 14 verse 12 now if
-
you realize i'm just i'm just like preparing
-
our hearts hallelujah i'm just like preparing
-
our hearts for what god will take us through
-
this week it's going to be a long ride hallelujah
-
what i'm doing right now is to just give us the
-
a house what do you call it tidbits rules you
-
know when you enter a plane and you're about
-
to fly i don't know why they do it one handsome
-
man or a beautiful lady will stand in the front
-
now they've used videos but without giving instructions
-
in case of emergency you do this you do that
-
the toilet is by this side we're just trying
-
to prepare ourselves for the flight that god
-
has taken us so when we begin to move you will
-
not be lost in what god is doing hallelujah the
-
moment we are locked in we will be surrendered
-
to what god is doing with us that when we are
-
coming out of this experience our lives will
-
be changed hallelujah our lives will be transformed
-
totally see what god will do this week in our
-
lives will have eternal consequence amen What
-
God will do this week will have eternal consequence
-
in our life That is to say the result Will be
-
seen in our lives till the day that Christ will
-
come and even when Christ will come The result
-
will be seen even in the presence of God Hallelujah
-
So these are spiritual things that we're going
-
to the God is going to do These are eternal things
-
that God is going to do and I want you to be
-
expectant in your heart i want you to be geared
-
towards what god will do so in john chapter 14
-
verse 12 to 14 which is where we've gotten the
-
team for the year most assuredly i say to you
-
he who believes in me the works that i do he
-
will do also and greater works than this he will
-
do because I go to my father and whatever you
-
ask in my name I will do but the father may be
-
glorified in the son if you ask anything in my
-
name I will do hallelujah so look at verse 12
-
it says the works that I do he will do I was
-
established that there is a work that God has
-
called the believer to do in fact let me go ahead
-
of myself to tell us and re -emphasize that the
-
work that the believer will do is a work of ministry
-
all right is the work of ministry what Struf
-
says the works that I do he will do also any
-
greater works than this he will also do so Jesus
-
here is saying that the man who believes in him
-
will not only do what jesus did we've explained
-
what jesus did we're going to go back to it and
-
lay another emphasis on what jesus has done but
-
he will not only do what jesus has done but will
-
do greater greater than what jesus did what is
-
that greater than what jesus did so believing
-
in jesus comes with that ability okay to do that
-
greater so you don't have to have another special
-
experience apart from that what has happened
-
to you the experience of believing in jesus the
-
experience of salvation qualifies you for that
-
greater works it qualifies us for that greater
-
works but much more what we do is that we are
-
explained what guy what christ has done all right
-
we are revealed much more by teaching by doctoring
-
what christ has done so the implication is that
-
anyone who believes can do greater works anyone
-
who believes anyone who is in christ remember
-
we read earlier on is called to this work of
-
ministry so let's look at the context of what
-
jesus is saying who is just speaking to and we
-
can ask what are the works jesus did what are
-
the greater works that those who believe in jesus
-
will do what is even that ministry that we are
-
called can we actually do greater than what jesus
-
has done obviously another no man can die for
-
the sins of the world no man is qualified to
-
die for any man all right so let's understand
-
the background of the text so jesus here is addressing
-
men he's addressing his disciples shortly Before
-
the feast of the Passover That is the context
-
of the conversation in John 14 Before his betrayal
-
because these are all they happen in sequence
-
a Passover his betrayal You know and his trial
-
before the the government and of course his crucifixion
-
So No It is important to understand this context
-
because these are the last words of Jesus Christ
-
to his disciples before his death they have been
-
with him for about three years this means that
-
these words will be very very important in what
-
he himself is going to do all right what they
-
also will do so these words these words are you
-
saying this chapter 14 verse 12 to 14 are very
-
very important and subsequent verses and the
-
things that you said are very important because
-
they were his last words with them before his
-
death before his experience before his trial
-
before his death and even before his resurrection
-
and let's read some context junct of the 13 John
-
chapter 13 verse 1 you can write John 13 from
-
verse 1 to 21 we will see the context of the
-
conversation now before the feast of the Passover
-
when Jesus knew that his hour had come that he
-
should depart from this world to the father ប
-
ប ប ប ប ប rose from supper and laid aside his
-
garments took a towel and guarded himself after
-
that he poured water into a basin and began to
-
wash the disciples feet and to wipe them with
-
the towel with which he has guarded he was guarded
-
then he came to Simon Peter and said to him Lord
-
then he came to Simon Peter and Peter said to
-
him Lord are you washing my feet he just answered
-
and said to him what I'm doing to you what I'm
-
doing you do not know you do not understand now
-
but you will know after this Peter said to him
-
you shall never wash my feet Jesus answered him
-
if I do not wash you do not wash you you have
-
no part with me Simon Peter said to him Lord
-
not my feet alone but also my hands and my head
-
Jesus said to him he who is bath needs only to
-
wash his feet but is completely clean and you
-
are clean but not all of you for he knew who
-
will betray him therefore he said you are not
-
all clean hallelujah so when he had washed their
-
feet taking his garments sat down again he said
-
to them do you not know What I've do you know
-
what I've done to you you call me teacher Lord
-
and Lord and you say well for so I am and you
-
say well for so I am if I then your Lord and
-
Teacher have washed your feet You also ought
-
to wash one another's feet For I have given you
-
an example that you should do as I have done
-
to you most assuredly I say to you a servant
-
is not greater than his master I think this is
-
a pattern for ministry you know that we serve
-
one another that we are not greater than one
-
another alright but ministry is about service
-
service one to another most assuredly I say to
-
you a servant is not greater than his master
-
nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent
-
him If you know these things, blessed are you
-
if you do them. That is the blessedness of the
-
things you know is in doing them. It resonates
-
with James. We do the word, hallelujah. Verse
-
18. I do not speak concerning all of you. I know
-
whom I have chosen. But that the scripture may
-
be fulfilled, he who eats bread with me has lifted
-
up his feet against me. now i tell you therefore
-
it come before it comes to that even that when
-
it does come to pass you may believe that i am
-
here most assuredly i said to you he who receives
-
whomever i send receive me and he who receives
-
me receive him who sends me verse 21 when jesus
-
has said these things he was troubled in his
-
spirit and testified and said If God is glorified
-
in him, God also glorify him in himself and glorify
-
him immediately. I shall be with you a little
-
while longer. You will seek me, and as I say
-
to the Jews, where I am going, you cannot come
-
now. So now I say to you, you cannot come, so
-
now I say to you, a new commandment I give you,
-
that you love one another as I have loved you,
-
that you also love one another. By this, all
-
will know that you are my disciples. If you have
-
love for one another. Simon Peter said to him,
-
Lord, where are you going? Jesus answered him,
-
Where I am going, you cannot follow me now. Come
-
underline that word now. But you shall come,
-
but you shall follow me afterward. Which means
-
that where Jesus is going, they cannot be, they
-
cannot go with him at that moment. But afterwards,
-
they will be in where he will be. peter said
-
to him lord why can't why can i not follow you
-
now i will lay down my life for your sake jesus
-
answered will you lay down your life for my sake
-
most assuredly i said to you the rooster shall
-
not crow till you have denied me three times
-
chapter 14 verse 1 let know your heart be troubled
-
you believe in god believe also in me In my father's
-
house are many mansions. If it were not so, I
-
would have told you, I go to prepare a place
-
for you. And if I go and prepare a place for
-
you, I will come again and receive you to myself.
-
That where I am, there you may be also. So it
-
means that Jesus was going to the father. But
-
in going to the father, they cannot follow him
-
at that moment. but when he has gone to the father
-
he's going to come and then he will carry them
-
to where the father is hallelujah verse three
-
again and if i go and prepare a place for you
-
i will come so jesus will go and he will come
-
and in his coming there will be brought into
-
where he is verse four and where i go you you
-
know and the way You know Thomas say to him lord
-
wait. We do not know where you are going and
-
how can we know the way You say to him. I am
-
the way the truth and the life No one comes to
-
the father except through me If you had known
-
me would have known my father also and from now
-
on you know him and have seen him so Philip will
-
go on to ask in verse 8 Lord show us the father
-
and it is sufficient for us and Jesus will explain
-
that seeing him is seeing the father in verse
-
9 Jesus said to him I've I've been with you so
-
long have I been with you so long and yet have
-
not known me Philip he who has seen me has seen
-
the father so how can you say show us the father
-
do you not believe that i am in the father and
-
the father in me the word that i speak to you
-
i do not speak on my own authority but the father
-
who dwells in me does the works all right so
-
the works he does the works let's read down to
-
verse 11 i mean the verse we read believe in
-
me that i am in the father and the father in
-
me or else believe me for the sake of the works
-
themselves hallelujah so jesus explains that
-
he is in the union with the father that he is
-
in the union with the father and the only way
-
by which the father can be known is only through
-
jesus christ and the works that jesus christ
-
was doing was actually god walking through him
-
to do the works which he did and also in us God
-
is the one that is working in us to do according
-
to his good pleasure we are cooperating with
-
God to bring about the manifestation of his plan
-
and his purpose on the earth hallelujah so what
-
are the after seeing the background what are
-
the works Jesus did and we've established several
-
times that the works Jesus did include the things
-
that he did while on earth and also the things
-
he taught is actions and teachings and we'll
-
see this explained by Luke in Acts Acts chapter
-
1 verse 1 to 3 Acts 1 verse 1 to 30 so we're
-
trying to look at what are the works Jesus did
-
that is calling us to do the same Acts chapter
-
1 verse 1 to 3 the former account I made oh theophilus
-
of all that jesus began both to do and teach
-
until the day in which he was taken up and after
-
he through the holy spirit had given commandments
-
to the apostles whom he had chosen to whom he
-
also presented himself alive after his sufferings
-
is suffering by many infallible proofs been seen
-
by them during 40 days and speaking of the things
-
pertaining to the kingdom of god so which book
-
do we see these things it says the former account
-
i met teoflous former account the records of
-
what jesus did in the flesh the records of the
-
sufferings of jesus the records of what jesus
-
did while he was in the body the things he did
-
and the things he taught the ministry that Jesus
-
did the service Jesus did look at Acts chapter
-
10 verse 38 we'll see also an expression of this
-
idea Acts chapter 10 verse 38 how god anointed
-
jesus of nazareth with the holy spirit and with
-
power and who went about doing what doing good
-
so we see jesus guys anointed by the spirit of
-
god went about doing good who went about doing
-
good and healing all who were oppressed by the
-
devil for god was with him hallelujah so the
-
works are the things that jesus did in the flesh
-
so luq the writer of the book of acts is referring
-
to those records that he met in the book of luq
-
the works what jesus taught will therefore refer
-
to those recorded in the synoptic gospels so
-
if we want to see what jesus did in the flesh
-
we can see the records of his humanity in the
-
synoptic gospels when we read through the synoptic
-
gospel especially the book of luke we will see
-
that jesus came in the flesh as a promised messiah
-
from the scriptures let's go through this and
-
then we lay this foundation and continue tomorrow
-
jesus in the synoptic gospel especially in the
-
book of luke is seen or revealed as the promised
-
messiah in the scripture from the scripture okay
-
look at it this way jesus did and taught all
-
right he did it took his he did a lot of things
-
when he was in the flesh miracles including even
-
dying on the cross and we see the records of
-
the things he did in the epist in the old synoptic
-
gospel martu mark luke and some part of john
-
yes and john let's say with and john we see the
-
record of the things that Jesus did so particularly
-
in the book of Luke we will see Jesus was revealed
-
by the eyewitnesses the record of what Jesus
-
did they began by introducing Jesus Christ as
-
what as the promised Messiah from the scripture
-
okay because in the scriptures there was a promise
-
of a Messiah that will come so the synoptic gospel
-
especially the book of luke began by introducing
-
jesus christ as the fulfillment of that promise
-
that was made in the scriptures luke chapter
-
one verse one to four remember our focus is on
-
the works of jesus now luke chapter one inasmuch
-
as many have taken in hand that is the same person
-
that wrote the book of acts and when he was referring
-
to the former account when he was writing to
-
Theophilus this is the same person he's writing
-
to he wrote the book of Luke and he wrote also
-
the book of Acts inasmuch as many have taken
-
in hand to set in order okay a narrative of those
-
things which have been seen or would have been
-
fulfilled amongst us the things that have been
-
established amongst us yes verse two just as
-
those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses
-
and ministers of the world delivered them to
-
us so the apostles delivered what jesus has taught
-
and what he did it seemed good to me also having
-
had perfect understanding it means that god desires
-
that we have perfect understanding and that is
-
what God is going to do for us this season having
-
had perfect understanding we can teach others
-
hallelujah having been perfected having been
-
you know equipped in those things that Jesus
-
did we can now teach others we can now explain
-
it to others having what had perfect understanding
-
of all things from the very first to write you
-
and utterly account most excellent theophilus
-
most excellent theophilus that what what is the
-
reason of writing that you may know the certainty
-
of those things which you were instructed noun
-
theophilus has been instructed already theophilus
-
is not just a new believer that is just no he
-
has been instructed already he is he is he's
-
a believer but there is need for certainty there
-
is need for conviction and conviction will come
-
by instruction it will come by teaching it will
-
come by re -explaining the things that has been
-
done it will come by expounding on the things
-
that has been done so the essence is that carefully
-
may know with certainty with assurance with conviction
-
and that is what takes for you the believer to
-
do the work of ministry that you will know by
-
certainty you will know the certainty you will
-
know the what give you this verse four in let's
-
say in amplify in amplify yes so that you may
-
know the exact truth about the things you have
-
been taught what are the things that you've been
-
taught that is the history and the doctrine of
-
the faith so the essence of the account the the
-
writings of this the teaching that luke is teaching
-
theophilus is that you will understand the history
-
there's no for us to understand the history there's
-
no for us to understand the storyline they need
-
for us to understand the technicalities of what
-
god did so that we'll be able to teach others
-
so that you may know the exact truth about the
-
things you have been taught that is the history
-
and the doctrine of the faith move to 26 look
-
26 what has the six in the continuation of this
-
conversation verse 26 look 126 Now, in the sixth
-
month of Elizabeth's pregnancy, give me Newkin
-
James, please. Now, in the sixth month, the angel
-
Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee
-
named Nazareth to a virgin betrothed to a man
-
whose name was Joseph of the house of David.
-
The virgin's name was Mary. And having come in,
-
the angel said to her, rejoice. The Lord is with
-
you. Blessed are you among women Okay, and then
-
yes that it but when she saw him She was troubled
-
at his saying and consider what manner of breathing
-
this was Then the angel said to her do not be
-
afraid Mary for you have found favor with God
-
and Behold you will conceive in your womb and
-
bring forth a son and shall call his name Jesus
-
he will be great and will be called the son of
-
the highest and the Lord God will give him the
-
throne of his father David and he will reign
-
over the house of Jacob forever and of his kingdom
-
there will be no end and Mary said to the angel
-
how can these things be because i do not know
-
you man and we see on and on and on and on so
-
we see here and we'll see continuously tomorrow
-
that the epistate the synoptic gospel gives us
-
the account of what jesus did that he came in
-
the flesh as prophesied or as as promised in
-
the scripture in the scripture and we want to
-
look at what is that scripture what was the promise
-
in that scripture we're going to look at where
-
it was promised in the scriptures how it was
-
promised in the scriptures it is important for
-
us to know the history so that we'll have the
-
certainty to be able to be you know prudent teachers
-
our thing is which we will call to do hallelujah
-
just want us to pray for ourselves and say lord
-
i am prepared for this process We appreciate
-
you being here today. We hope you carry this
-
word with you throughout your week. Don't forget
-
