  1. Welcome to NECF sermons. Each message here is

  2. designed to uplift and strengthen you in your

  3. walk with God. Don't miss out. Stay with us until

  4. the end for a rewarding experience. Let's dive

  5. right in. the text that has been weaponized by

  6. those who are practicing sexism, gender discrimination,

  7. and the exclusion, systemic exclusion of women

  8. in leadership. Particularly we're concerned about

  9. the church. And what we're trying to do is to

  10. understand what is Paul saying First Timothy

  11. chapter two, verse 12. Let me read that text

  12. again. First Timothy chapter two, verse 12. Many

  13. have used this to say a woman cannot teach in

  14. the church and she cannot lead. She cannot be

  15. a pastor. She should keep quiet. verse 12, and

  16. I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority

  17. over a man to be, but to be in silent. So what

  18. we did was to look at first that in chapter one,

  19. verse three, to fall, we saw that there is a

  20. doctrine problem. So Paul sent Timothy to go

  21. to Ephesus and said, there are lots of myths

  22. in the sun, meaning that if we will say in general,

  23. we will say that there are a lot of out of context

  24. discussion, which is being taught that is not

  25. sound to doctrine. There are myths. They are

  26. endless genealogies, and they cause division.

  27. They cause confusion, disputes, rather than Godly

  28. edification. And we try to go to the church itself.

  29. We saw when Paul established the church, had

  30. spent two years in the school of Tyronus teaching

  31. these people. And then, of course, commotion

  32. starts in the town. because he used to go for

  33. evangelism, do a lot of things. And there are

  34. some people whose business is affected in the

  35. sun. And so they say, you could say that the

  36. problem is not first and foremost Artemis, because

  37. when you see the young man started discussing,

  38. he was concerned about their traits in the sun.

  39. And I want to tell you the truth. All the issues

  40. we are dealing with, slavery and all that, is

  41. a problem of greed of men. in the sun, is about

  42. the profit they will get. That's why I said,

  43. ministry is sacrifice. If already your test board

  44. has been spoiled by luxury, you're not going

  45. to do ministry or else you compromise. One of

  46. the things that you have to adopt as a discipline,

  47. and that's what we call concentration, meaning

  48. that there are things that might be your rights.

  49. but you waive them because you want to stay focused.

  50. I said, if you say you want to maintain your

  51. concern about what people say about you, you

  52. and lawyers will be friends. You will always

  53. be going to court, defamation here, defamation

  54. there, defamation here. You don't understand

  55. what I'm trying to say? Yes, because people will

  56. speak, they will call you devil. As I said, the

  57. ones who are false prophets will be calling you

  58. false prophets. You will be angry because the

  59. one who is actually trying to tell you false

  60. prophets, if you ask him to recite just two memory

  61. verse, he doesn't know. You don't know last when

  62. he went to church. But again, because now everybody

  63. are for data, you can say anything. So you have

  64. to be less sensitive concerning your reputation

  65. and be more concerned about the character of

  66. God, about the glory of God. As long as God is

  67. glorified, you should be satisfied, even if some

  68. people call you evil. Are we together? That is

  69. a point. Secondly, you have to reduce your appetite.

  70. Once you are focused on wanting to gain this,

  71. gain that, gain this, gain this, gain this, gain

  72. this, you are actually setting yourself for problem.

  73. You have to tame your appetite in the sun. You

  74. must be like Paul that you know how to be in

  75. abyss and know how to be in what? In abound.

  76. Hallelujah. So the temple of Artemis or the temple

  77. of Diana In that temple, women held high ranking,

  78. respectful leadership position. Remember, already

  79. the goddess herself is a female. Are we together?

  80. So in that temple, women held high ranking, respected

  81. leadership role. such as high priestess and this

  82. position of high priestess in the temple it grants

  83. you immense public authority you know it's not

  84. like today like now we have just like I said

  85. we have seen it even the era of church that when

  86. the church is is is closely related with the

  87. state You see that if you're a bishop in that

  88. moment, you're not just bishop in the church.

  89. You have immense authority in the public domain,

  90. in the society. You are the one who shape loss,

  91. who shape what goes on. Not just only that, you

  92. have a high opportunity to immense wealth, to

  93. immense wealth so much because of your influence.

  94. So at Ephesus, not just only that, whatever position

  95. you have held in the temple of Artemis, it also

  96. has its own power extended into the society.

  97. So you are the people who have immense public

  98. authority. And you see, these high priestesses

  99. in the temple, there are positions which are

  100. independent of your husband. Let me repeat it

  101. again. They are entirely independent. Means that

  102. authority surpasses the authority at home, sir.

  103. Are you with me? Are you with me? Please understand

  104. this context. This is very important. That authority

  105. is an independent authority. It surpasses your

  106. husband's status. because now you are dealing

  107. with the community, the society. So Paul stationed

  108. Timothy in this place and told him to fight false

  109. doctrine. And these doctrines are feebles. So

  110. when Paul wrote, go to verse 13. Now with this

  111. understanding, I want you to read verse 13. of

  112. chapter two. For Adam was formed first, then

  113. Eve. Please, listen, the reason why Paul quote

  114. this text was not because he wanted just to quote

  115. anything. Remember, there was a doctrinal problem.

  116. And the problem fundamentally has to do with

  117. how the scripture is viewed. because there's

  118. a corruption there's another doctrine so when

  119. Paul wrote and said for Adam was from first he

  120. was not trying to say that the woman is inferior

  121. to a man that's not the point he is addressing

  122. a problem in Ephesus no He was correcting an

  123. efficient false doctrine about female supremacy.

  124. Remember what I told you about the goddess Artemis,

  125. right? So when he said, for Adam was from first,

  126. then Eve is trying to reset the heretical order.

  127. Remember I told you, when we are this high priestess,

  128. their authority is supreme. is more than that

  129. of their husbands. Their husbands start to, it's

  130. independent because they are already firsts.

  131. So Paul is saying, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,

  132. no, no. There is an order in scripture. Adam

  133. was first. He's trying to confront this female

  134. supremacy doctrinal that is being pushed. He

  135. said, no. There is an order from the beginning.

  136. Remember what Pastor Fred told us. When Jesus

  137. was addressing the Pharisees, he immediately

  138. asked him a question. He returned them back from

  139. where? The beginning. It was not so. This is

  140. the order. Now let me tell you something. In

  141. Greek mythology, that's why you see Paul say

  142. part of the first doctrine in first Timothy,

  143. he said myths. That's febuls, right? In Greek

  144. mythology, the goddess Artemis was said to have

  145. been born first before her twin brother Apollo.

  146. Let me repeat again. In Greek mythology, the

  147. goddess herself, Artemis or Diana was said to

  148. have been born first. before her twin brother

  149. Apollo. In fact, when you read the myth, it says

  150. that she first was born and she came and helped

  151. her mother. Imagine that a baby, your twins inside

  152. the womb, the first baby came out and the first

  153. baby that came out will now come back and assist

  154. the mother to give birth to the other twin. Are

  155. you with me? So because she was born first before

  156. her twin brother Apollo, so this day is a myth

  157. that is mixed now. Those people who have been

  158. saved from the temple, from that worship into

  159. the church, came with that type of ideology of

  160. female supremacy. because she was born first,

  161. is the first born attitude that meets heavily

  162. shaped by the doctrine of the female spiritual

  163. supremacy at the temple of Artemis in Ephesus.

  164. That is the background I'm telling you. So when

  165. Paul quoted that verse and said for Adam was

  166. born first, then Eve, that was what he was confronting.

  167. because they have been taught all the while when

  168. they were still unbelievers that you are above

  169. the man. Now that they are born again and they

  170. enter the church, they came with that ideology.

  171. They are the first. Paul said, no, it was not

  172. so in the beginning. Look at verse 14. Paul then

  173. added, and said, and Adam was not deceived. But

  174. the woman being deceived fell into transgression.

  175. Again, you see, when we read this verse, we don't

  176. pay attention to the context. So it looks as

  177. if Paul is saying here again that the woman is

  178. gullible than the man. You see, don't miss it.

  179. That's not issue. You know, some people have

  180. used this so we put nice women in the sun. the

  181. question i'm saying in your class are you the

  182. first is it a woman that is leading you i mean

  183. do you understand i'm trying to say oh god you

  184. see some religious people max their their ignorance

  185. and aside they are failing and the women are

  186. leading their in their classes and then they'll

  187. come to the scripture and say women have a chicken

  188. brain it's you that have a chicken brain but

  189. that's not what paul is addressing He is addressing

  190. a doctrinal problem. And to understand what is

  191. a doctrine, you are going to take this out of

  192. context. So when Paul wrote again in verse 14,

  193. and said, Adam was not deceived, but the woman

  194. being deceived fell into transgression. He was

  195. correcting again another myth beside the issue

  196. of the firstborn myth. What is a myth? Because

  197. Artemis is a goddess and supreme, spiritual supremacy

  198. again there's a means that has been flying that

  199. whatever a woman did she act in wisdom that is

  200. the woman has more wisdom than the man including

  201. that what Eve did that it was a wisdom is a Gnosis

  202. this is a the hint of what we call of Gnosis

  203. you know something Gnosis means she has a secret

  204. knowledge secret wisdom So whatever she did,

  205. what she acted was superior, was an enlightened

  206. wisdom. So Paul was saying, no, no, no, no. There

  207. was no wisdom in what the woman did. She was

  208. simply tricked by the devil into sin. What she

  209. did was not gnosis. What she did was a deception.

  210. it was ticked he was ticked into sin again paul

  211. was addressing a doctrinal problem that you see

  212. two things address in that text so the first

  213. doctrine in ethos was also a distortion of genesis

  214. are we together was distortion of the intent

  215. of god a myth when meat are set above the word

  216. of God, the order of God. That's what Paul is

  217. addressing. Now, the issue is that the question

  218. we need to address was Paul addressing all women

  219. when he said in verse 12, let's go back to verse

  220. 12, and I do not permit a woman to teach or to

  221. absorb authority over the man. but be silent.

  222. Was he talking to all women in the church? Again,

  223. if you look at it, just like we did with the

  224. other scriptures, if you read from verse one,

  225. Paul started with a general instruction about

  226. church from verse one. When you go down, he begin

  227. to talk to church, I exhort first and foremost,

  228. first of all, the supplication prayers, intercession,

  229. giving of tongues. be made to all men for kings

  230. and for all in authority and on and on verse

  231. seven for which was appointed as a preacher and

  232. then he kept talking about that some of the things

  233. he was facing verse eight i desire therefore

  234. you know sir that man now look at it once he

  235. talks generally he now started focusing on specific

  236. you understand what i'm saying now when he said

  237. men he was not talking to women did you get what

  238. i'm trying to say That means in that shot and

  239. there is a problem also with men. Did you want

  240. something? Listen when you see Paul saying certain

  241. things he was not saying for saying sake In those

  242. days, they don't just write a letter and just

  243. send just tell the people to love the Lord Say

  244. the people to be patient said no this they address

  245. specific problems So when you said now after

  246. talking generally now he turned to the man you

  247. say hey man, let me address some problem And

  248. it's part of the doctrinal problem, sir. He said,

  249. men, this is what I desire, that you pray everywhere,

  250. lifting up holy hands without rat and doubting.

  251. You know what has happened there? There is aggravation

  252. in that church. You understand? He said, don't

  253. come to church. You understand? Having all those

  254. kinds of confusion here and there. That is not

  255. what to do. You understand? It's wrong. Don't

  256. do that. Just one thing I want you to do, to

  257. lift up holy hands, not filthy hands, not hands

  258. full of rats, full of anger, divisions. He's

  259. addressing me, he know men, men that are angry.

  260. You know, Sam, brother, you need to, anger is

  261. all your portion. Don't say that's how we are

  262. in our family. That's not, which family are you

  263. talking about? How many families do you have?

  264. And then you keep shouting, I've been translated

  265. from the kingdom of that means into the kingdom

  266. of that song. In this kingdom, we don't have

  267. anything like that. Generally, because you normally

  268. say, you have to understand, you're not just

  269. a body. Your hormones, you're not under the control

  270. of your hormones. Generally, there is sex. Of

  271. course, because of testosterone, Men are generally

  272. aggressive. That's why you have more men in prison

  273. than women. You are not a body. You are a regenerated

  274. person. You can't live by that. It's not the

  275. fruit of the spirit. That's why it's telling

  276. them, no, that's not your identity. Lift up holy

  277. hands with that wrath, with that anger. He's

  278. not a portion without doubting without confusion

  279. without disputing without division Then he don't

  280. turn to women he said in like manner, did you

  281. see that? Did you see the kind of things? We're

  282. saying, you know, we've been seen likewise, you

  283. know, sir Meaning that when Paul is saying he's

  284. just applying the same principle or two different

  285. Groups of people in the nature if he's discussing

  286. love he cannot turn to married women and address

  287. them and say okay this is how you should apply

  288. love within the context of your relationship

  289. if he's addressing fathers this is how you should

  290. you admit you you you demonstrate love within

  291. the context of your relationship but it's the

  292. same thing that's why he said in like manner

  293. also that women so that means the matter fundamentally

  294. the matter he was telling the men to do is exactly

  295. what he's telling the woman is only that he's

  296. applying it to the problem of the women at that

  297. moment because the problem again as we see because

  298. if a woman as we have seen in the that came from

  299. the temple of Artemis what do you expect she

  300. should be doing of course that woman does have

  301. you seen those women that are supreme you know

  302. you know they pay attention to their appearance

  303. are we together are we together have you seen

  304. a big big woman or powerful women in society

  305. brother before they come out hey you know what

  306. they have done to them understand they will ensure

  307. that every every of the addressing has a meaning

  308. i was i was sometimes when i sit down i was uh

  309. after maybe a program maybe program of donald

  310. trump or this i'll see people analyzing the the

  311. the the outfits that uh the trump's wife war

  312. They will be saying, this is what it means. This

  313. is the color of this. It was chosen by this.

  314. I say, uh -uh. Me, I don't know how the color

  315. speaks. But I'm trying to let you know that when

  316. you are at that level, sir, you don't come out

  317. anyhow. The dressing you are coming out is in

  318. itself a message. That is what the women were

  319. doing. And they are neglecting the main thing.

  320. Remember where they were coming from. Paul is

  321. saying no, no, no, no, that is not correct. You're

  322. supposed to pay attention to your attitude, your

  323. inner heart, your character, much more than you

  324. pay attention to your appearance. He was not

  325. saying don't wear anything. He was saying priority,

  326. setting priority. And the issue is what he was

  327. addressing. is the problem at Ephesus. Are we

  328. together? That's what he was doing. And so verse

  329. 9, and he moved to verse 10. And then he told

  330. them that that is what is proper. For women professing

  331. goodliness with good works, that is the order

  332. of your identity. It's not subjugation. It's

  333. telling them their identity, that first attitude.

  334. Peter said the same thing in the sun. The inner

  335. beauty, you pay attention to it. Then verse 11.

  336. You see, in verse 11, he suddenly changed. He

  337. didn't say women. He now said, let a woman, are

  338. we together? Let a what? A woman learn in silent

  339. with all submission. And I do not permit a woman

  340. to teach or to absorb authority over a man. But

  341. to be, I repeat that word again, he did in 11

  342. and said, but what? In silent. Which means that

  343. by starting to say silent, repeat it again, you

  344. understand? Over a man, you understand? Because

  345. in the verse nine, verse 8, he said men alone.

  346. He didn't mix them. Verse 9 and 10, he said women.

  347. He didn't mix them. When he came to verse 11,

  348. he mixed the two, talking about the relationship

  349. between the two. That means he was not speaking

  350. to general women. He was speaking to who a man

  351. and a woman within the context of marriage. Are

  352. we together? He was speaking to a man and a woman

  353. within the context of marriage. That means he

  354. was addressing three set of people in this text.

  355. Now, why do we say? It's not because we are just

  356. wanting to say that there are evidence within

  357. the text that verse 11, verse 12 is talking to

  358. married people. Or in this way, married women.

  359. Are we together? Married women. First, this text,

  360. they say direct parallel to another text in Corinthians.

  361. Let's look at it quickly. So it's not today that

  362. Paul have admonished people in this manner. 1

  363. Corinthians 14. 1 Corinthians 14, verse 34. We

    1 Corinthians 14:34

  364. have dealt with this text in this church already.

  365. So I'm going to just read it in the sun. 14 verse

  366. 34. Let your women keep silent. Did you hear

  367. silent again? Keep silent in churches for they

  368. are not permitted to speak, but they are to be

  369. submissive. Is that what we saw again? Silent

  370. submission. Do you understand what I'm trying

  371. to say? That's the same thing. As the law also

  372. says, verse 35, and if they want to learn something,

  373. let them ask their own husbands at home, for

  374. it is shameful for a woman to speak in church.

  375. Now, we're not dealing with this text because

  376. we have dealt with it. I'm trying to show you

  377. the parallel. that does the same thing, silent

  378. submission. And this one even made it clear because

  379. in Timothy he said man and woman. Here it makes

  380. it vivid, husband. You understand? And why? Even

  381. though the word, Greek word, is the same, wife,

  382. woman, you understand, is the same, gune. So

  383. it is a context that tell us. what exactly he's

  384. talking about because the Greek word is the one

  385. word, gunei. So what we're trying to say again

  386. is that he said they should ask their husband

  387. at home. That means is a home of yes. Then there's

  388. a problem when you drag a problem from a family

  389. problem and drag it into the public domain. That

  390. means you are out of context. Now let me give

  391. you more evidence that shows us that this is

  392. one that shows us that what Paul was discussing

  393. in verse 11 and verse 12 is talking to a couple

  394. or married women. So Paul talks about submission.

  395. Now you see there is Because there's another

  396. word aside just being the words the parallel

  397. We see it there is one word that is important

  398. there submission Now nowhere in the Bible entire

  399. Bible that asks women to submit to all men Let

  400. me repeat again nowhere in the entire Bible that

  401. asked women to submit to who? to all men. Anywhere

  402. you see, submission to a man is within the context

  403. of a home. You understand? Ephesians 5 also tells

  404. us where we saw. In fact, he said, submit to

  405. their own husbands, not someone else's husband.

  406. Are you with me? You cannot say, you come here

  407. and you're commanding my wife to submit to you.

  408. You are dead on arrival. Did you understand what

  409. I'm saying? No. She has only one to submit to.

  410. Because that kind of expression of love is only

  411. effected within the context of marriage. We have

  412. submission, we will submit to the church. That

  413. is not the same. Let me tell you one thing. In

  414. submission to the woman involves sex. That's

  415. why her body is not her body, but the husband's.

  416. And the husband's is not his body, but the wife.

  417. There are other submission that brother, you

  418. can't do it. So you can't tell another man's

  419. wife to submit to you. How? That's why we said

  420. it is only within the context of the house, the

  421. home. So sir, you are not the head of every woman.

  422. It's clear, 1 Corinthians 11 tells us, right?

  423. He's a husband that is the head of his wife,

  424. not all men. You are not. So that's another thing

  425. we saw in that Timothy that shows to us that

  426. no, this could not have been told to the women

  427. in Ephesus that you have to submit to all the

  428. men in the church. How could that be? That would

  429. have been aberrations. Are we together? Now we

  430. have made up, I said, my love, when I met her

  431. some years ago, and I unveiled the vision and

  432. I turned her head for her to be following me.

  433. You know, some say, huh? She agreed and she was

  434. following me. And then now, we are making another

  435. decision to move to somewhere else. Can I call

  436. my mid -person friend wherever and say, well,

  437. let's go? Did you understand? Did you understand

  438. what I'm trying to say? How do you expect that

  439. to say, the Bible says it's a summit to a man?

  440. Did you understand what I'm trying to say? You

  441. see, that's the point we're seeing. The issue

  442. is that there are many things. When we talk about

  443. submission in marriage, it can be applicable

  444. in any other relationship. Because it's a unique

  445. expression of love within the context of marriage.

  446. There are other submissions in the church. Of

  447. course, they ask the young men members to submit

  448. to the elders. That's not the same as a submission

  449. of a woman to the man. That's also expression

  450. of love. but is done in a way different from

  451. what you are, is obtainable within the context

  452. of a marriage. So it could not have been poured

  453. a blanket to say every woman, you have to submit

  454. to all women, men. No. No. We have men that are

  455. still finding their way, men that do not know

  456. their left and right, you understand? Men that

  457. are still struggling. How can you expect every

  458. woman to submit to any man? I mean, he's not

  459. even sensible in the sun. So that is a point

  460. here. Are we together? Let me show you another

  461. thing. Look at us starting. Why we are saying

  462. that this instruction is within the context of

  463. marriage. Was starting you say for Adam was from

  464. first and then if you see this text Wherever

  465. this text was pointed to Are we together is within

  466. the context of marriage? Are we together where

  467. issue of Adam and Eve we have many other this

  468. thing Jesus pointed it in the Sun is a discourse

  469. discussion about divorce about problem in marriage

  470. in the Sun Paul also has shown us in Ephesians

  471. Matthew 19, the same thing. Are we together?

  472. It's within the context of marriage. If it is

  473. not the context of marriage, it is about something

  474. that is done in marriage. Did you hear what I

  475. said? If it's not just about marriage within

  476. that context of marriage, it's about something

  477. that is done in marriage. For example, in 1 Corinthians,

  478. chapter six. Well, Paul could take the verse

  479. he say for the scripture says in the Sun that

  480. Talk about that if you are joined with the Lord

  481. your one flesh and your one spirit in the Sun

  482. We either is joined to a hallowed is one flesh

  483. for the scripture says yeah that what? That the

  484. two shall become One flesh the context of that

  485. place is immorality trying to make them understand

  486. how they cannot carry that which belong to Christ

  487. because you are one with god and go and give

  488. it to another illegal person the illegal person

  489. there is the harlot because that's illegality

  490. you understand that is you carry someone's property

  491. you go and give to another person do you understand

  492. what i'm trying to say and so what they are happening

  493. here is the sex here and the sex means union

  494. that's the definition of sex you understand in

  495. marriage you understand what tells us about the

  496. union and that's the demonstration that is being

  497. used as the relationship between Christ and the

  498. church. Did you understand what I'm trying to

  499. say? So it is a sex that man defines such a union

  500. together. You understand? So when you carry yourself

  501. and go and unite with another person, that's

  502. why you call it immorality. That's illegal. So

  503. he said if you joined yourself to God, which

  504. is demonstrated by the relationship between a

  505. man and his wife, So that's why I said, if your

  506. context is not talking about marriage, it's talking

  507. about something that is done in the marriage.

  508. Did you understand what I'm trying to say? So

  509. there is no how you will prove you see Adam and

  510. Eve, you understand, and their relationship.

  511. And you say it's talking to the general church.

  512. Are we together? Amen. So this is an exclusive

  513. speaking about marital issues. So in 1st Timothy

  514. chapter 2 verse 11, Paul stated, let a woman

  515. learn in silence. Look at verse 12. He said,

  516. and I do not permit a woman to teach or to have

  517. authority over a man but to be in silence. Remember,

  518. we have already dealt yesterday with the issue

  519. of context. You understand? You don't read a

  520. verse with your knowledge of a modern times.

  521. You need to read it. What does that mean to be

  522. silent? Because the word in Greek, silent, is

  523. not always to be mute. Because if you say that

  524. they should be mute, it doesn't make sense. Our

  525. sister just sang for us here. If we are to practice

  526. this, they will come here. They will not say

  527. good morning. They will not say good night. They

  528. will not say anything. They will keep quiet.

  529. That's the meaning, the literal meaning of what

  530. some people don't want to apply, if really you

  531. are going for that. That means all these women

  532. that come to church, when they enter, they will

  533. enter with their mouth shut. You understand?

  534. No speaking, nothing. That's what the meaning

  535. of literal silent means. Are you with me? Are

  536. you with me? But that is not what Paul meant

  537. there. Because he has already instructed women

  538. already. You understand? In fact, we see in scripture,

  539. a woman can prophesy. Is that correct? In fact,

  540. 1 Corinthians 11 tells us, if a woman prophesies,

  541. right, or prays, that means she can pray. So

  542. that means I'll be a Confucian. If it means literal,

  543. so how comes then they can prophesy? So that

  544. means that is not what he's saying. That's not

  545. what he's saying. Are we together? So let's deal

  546. with the word silent first. Then we'll just...

  547. go out of here. In scriptures, the word silent,

  548. as we said, doesn't have a blanket meaning. Remember,

  549. the context helps us to define words, their usage

  550. within the context. Let me give you an example.

  551. Of course, the word silent can be mute in some

  552. other places, but that's not, you don't use a

  553. blanket meaning. We have said it over and over

  554. in this church, right? Like the word world is

  555. used several times in different ways. It's a

  556. word, the same word in English, but it has different

  557. meaning. We have cosmos, we have aeons, right?

  558. We have okiume, okiumene. You understand? These

  559. are all Greek words. But brother, they are translated

  560. into English in the Bible, they all means wall,

  561. wall, wall, wall, wall, but they don't mean the

  562. same thing. So that means we have to read closely.

  563. Are we together? We have to what? Read closely.

  564. I saw even in English, I saw one was doing some

  565. play of what? What do you call it? Is it homophones?

  566. My English, go help me. You understand? Yes,

  567. one or go, you can help me. You have one word,

  568. you understand? The same sound. In fact, there's

  569. another one he was saying. It's the same word,

  570. but when you sound it differently, what do you

  571. call that one? It is the same word, but they

  572. have different meaning the way they are sound.

  573. You understand? So I'm just, I say, ah, hey,

  574. hey. You understand? Are we together? For example,

  575. beat. Hmm? B -E -A -T. It can be choir beats.

  576. Eh? It can be, eh? Are we together? Amen. So

  577. that means even in English, I have those kind

  578. of things. So you can use the word a blanket.

  579. Are we together? let me give you an example first

  580. of solonia first of solonian just an example

  581. where it is the word that was silent was not

  582. used as mute first of solonian chapter 3 verse

  583. 12 first of solonian 312 and may the lord make

  584. you increase Okay, second, sorry, let's say first,

  585. second Thessalonians, sorry, second Thessalonians

  586. 3 .12. Now those who are such we command and

  587. exalt through our Lord Jesus Christ that they

  588. walk in quietness. That word quietness is the

  589. same word as silent. and eat their own bread.

  590. Now, do you think it means that you should walk

  591. with your mouth mute? That's what you're saying

  592. here? No. He's saying that you should walk in

  593. order. You understand? So the word here, silent,

  594. was translated from the Greek word, hesychia,

  595. or hesychia, H -E -S -H -E -S. H -E -S -Y -C

  596. -H -I -E, H -E -S -Y -C -H -I -E, has to chair.

  597. It's a Greek word, it's a feminine noun. Now

  598. it is a word that was translated to asylum or

  599. quietness. It means to settle down. It means

  600. to be calm. It means to be orderly. To settle

  601. down, to be calm, to be orderly. In fact, this

  602. word, hesychia, was derived from the root word,

  603. hesychios, that is H -E, S -Y -C -H -I -O -S,

  604. H -C -T -O's. And this H -C -T -O's is an adjective.

  605. It means peaceful or undisturbing. Peaceful or

  606. undisturbing. So verse 11, let's go back to first

  607. Moti. 2 verse 11, he said, let the woman learn

  608. in silence with all submission. So it means he's

  609. saying that let the woman have a teachable disposition,

  610. is that correct? Meaning to be orderly, have

  611. a teachable disposition, that it means to teach

  612. in silence or to learn in silence, sorry. To

  613. learn in silence, it doesn't mean to patlock

  614. your mouth while you are learning. No, it said

  615. to be peaceful, to be only stopping. You understand?

  616. I mean, those of us that are lecturers, we met

  617. some aggressive students, right? Hallelujah.

  618. There are students that are not peaceful learners.

  619. Did you understand what I'm trying to say? They

  620. are very proud. They know nothing. but they want

  621. to scatter the whole uh something you have to

  622. put them in order if not they would this they

  623. will they will scatter the the the class are

  624. we together this is the type of people now please

  625. as we are doing this right be thinking about

  626. where we are coming our context you know our

  627. context is that these are women coming from the

  628. temple of Artemis some of them must have been

  629. high priestess You understand? Now they are coming

  630. with their supremacy mentality. They don't want

  631. to learn. They are always busy. You understand?

  632. He said, mm -mm, mm -mm, mm -mm. He said, have

  633. a teachable disposition. So he's not saying keep

  634. quiet. It doesn't even make sense. You understand?

  635. Yes. You understand? Don't be arrogant. That's

  636. what he's saying. You understand? Be humble.

  637. When you relate with your husband be humble In

  638. the Sun are we together so that by the way, let's

  639. go back again. There's another word verse 12

  640. so already because he said have a teachable disposition

  641. in all submission because by adding with all

  642. submission that means he is talking about arrogance

  643. Supremacy kind of thinking you know son prides

  644. and confusion you don't want to you understand

  645. he said no no no no that's not how to go about

  646. it this is your your nature in Christ that you

  647. learn in silent and that learning has a disposition

  648. is that of humility with submission to your husband

  649. are we together amen now verse 12 he said I do

  650. not He continued, he said, I do not permit a

  651. woman to teach or to have authority over the

  652. man. Remember, this man here is not every man.

  653. He's her husband. Are we together? Good. He said,

  654. I do not permit a woman to teach. What does teaching

  655. means? What is teaching? Now, if you see, if

  656. it's just a blanket again words, it means to

  657. teach. just to pass information. And that means

  658. I'll be confused. Are we together? Because if

  659. that verse 12 were a permanent universal ban

  660. that women should not teach, it would directly

  661. contradict Paul himself, the rest of his colleagues.

  662. You understand what I'm saying? When they met

  663. with the couples Priscilla and Aquila, they were

  664. tent -makers, co -workers. Amen. In Act 18, we

  665. saw that in Act 26, Aquila and Priscilla, he's

  666. not just Aquila, he said Aquila and Priscilla,

  667. they call a man, verse in scripture, called Apollos.

  668. They say, there is some loopholes in your doctrine.

  669. You now call him and polish his head. Do you

  670. want to sometimes say? That means, if that's

  671. the case, fall is burning woman. how else he

  672. is working do you know that he also in his letter

  673. in his romance he also talks about great aquila

  674. you know something i'm saying i'm priscilla that

  675. means he said they are co -workers we have done

  676. this when we are dealing with the women's issues

  677. about women's liberty in the son in romance of

  678. the 16 verse one and two he also commanded phoebe

  679. He's a woman. Paul commanded her. He uses the

  680. word documus. You understand? He said Phoebe

  681. was a, she's a deacon, because that word documus

  682. in Greek is a minister or a deacon. Do you want

  683. something? Hey, are we together? Because a deacon

  684. in the church is a teacher. A minister is a teacher.

  685. Did you want to know something, Francis? If you

  686. read 1 Timothy, He gave for bishop and details,

  687. right? Are we together? One of the criteria is

  688. that they must not be novices in the things of

  689. God. So there's no how he's commending Phoebe

  690. and he's asking the brethren to support her in

  691. her ministry of ministering. That ministry is

  692. not food that she's sharing because documents

  693. is not used for that. Documus is used for deacon

  694. or a minister. One that preaches the word. Romans

    Romans 16:7

  695. 16 verse 7, he also talks about Jumeah. This

  696. one, he commended Isaiah, he's an outstanding

  697. apostle. Are we together? An outstanding apostle.

  698. Amen. in fact he said she was before me she was

  699. in Christ before me are we together so there

  700. is no how you will now say that Paul is putting

  701. a blanket listen that means you are taking out

  702. of context he's out of context I want you to

  703. note before we come to explain what teach means

  704. they say what there you now say oh because he

  705. said verse 12, first Timur teach of the two verse

  706. 12, he said I do not permit a woman to teach

  707. or to have authority. He's not a mystic. He didn't

  708. say to teach and to have authority. He say or.

  709. It's a reason. Hallelujah. Now that word or is

  710. a conjunction. is translated from the Greek word

  711. ode, that is O -U -D -E, O -U -D -E, which frequently

  712. links two words together to express a complex.

  713. This word or ode is used to link two words or

  714. two expressions. And the idea by linking them

  715. is to express a single complex idea that you

  716. cannot use just one word. Do you understand what

  717. I'm trying to say? You want to explain something.

  718. You don't want to use one thing. It's the same

  719. idea, but you want to use multiple words or statement

  720. and connect them together. Did you understand

  721. what I'm trying to say? That is what it means.

  722. So, for example, let me give you an example where

  723. that word is. Matthew 7 verse 18. Please note

    Matthew 7:18

  724. this. Matthew 7 verse 18. Now look at it. A tree

    Matthew 7:18

  725. cannot bear, a good tree cannot bear bad fruits.

  726. Nor, you see that word, nor is the same word

  727. or day. Or can a bad tree bear good fruit? Listen,

  728. the whole statement here is one idea. It's just

  729. trying to say it in another way to explain a

  730. single complex idea, but using two statement

  731. and connect them together. Are we together? Amen.

  732. Yes. Let me give you another one. Matthew 10,

  733. go to Matthew 10 verse 24. Matthew 10, 24. So

    Matthew 10:24

  734. I'm trying to let you know that the one idea

  735. there is trying to say that, you understand,

  736. you will know a tree from the fruit it produces.

  737. That's the idea. Are we together? That's the

  738. idea Jesus was trying to pass. One idea, but

  739. using two statement to explain the two ideas.

  740. and connect them with Odei. Yes. Are you there?

  741. A disciple is not above his teacher, nor, now

  742. look at it, that word nor is the same word Odei.

  743. You understand? Nor a servant above his master.

  744. Look at it. He said, disciple, teacher, servant,

  745. master. This is the same idea. Is trying to communicate

  746. what he's saying if you read the context just

  747. like I was saying He's a one complex idea. He

  748. was talking that Jesus was saying if I have been

  749. persecuted you as my Disciples you'll be persecuted.

  750. That's why he's saying a Teach a disciple is

  751. not above his teacher. No a servant above his

  752. master That means whatever that was done to me

  753. was will be done to you That is the idea he's

  754. trying to pass. And so he uses two statements,

  755. you understand, and then leading them by Odei,

  756. just to explain that complex idea. Are we together?

  757. Amen. So you can now see that the first statement

  758. is the same with the second statement, because

  759. they are explaining a complex idea. Are we together?

  760. Let's go back to that text in second tumultu.

  761. 12. So when you see, he said, I do not permit

  762. a woman to teach. That means the teaching will

  763. not be referring just merely passing an information.

  764. It is related to the issue of domineering, the

  765. issue of absorbing authority. That's why he said,

  766. all have authority over the man. So what Paul

  767. is saying is that, that teaching there is not

  768. just mere teaching. It's absorbing authority.

  769. Are we together? Are we together? So this, normally

  770. when you see these complex things are passed

  771. together, is always, is a figure of switch. When

  772. you have two different statement, trying to express

  773. a complex idea and then use that link. You understand?

  774. That conjunction of oddy, to express a complex

  775. idea, is a figure of speech we call hen -dear

  776. -dears. I know people don't want literature.

  777. Hallelujah. Let me spell it. We are adding, I

  778. mean, how many figure of speech are we learning

  779. in this torture? We are still learning more,

  780. you understand? Amen. And that's why we said

  781. that the Bible is a literary text. Are we together?

  782. H -E -N -D -I -A -D -Y -S. H -E -N -D -I -A -D

  783. -Y -S. H -E -N -D -I -A -D -Y -S. Is a figure

  784. of speech. where by you want to express a complex

  785. idea but you use a link you know son you link

  786. to statement in a way to all express that idea

  787. that's the figure of speech that's exactly what

  788. paul did there here and we saw in jesus used

  789. it are we together amen yes so paul was not speaking

  790. about two separate ideas he was not saying teach

  791. he was also a sub authority he's talking about

  792. the same thing he's talking about the supreme

  793. mercy the female spiritual supremacy that attitude

  794. of domineering that attitude of pride that was

  795. brought from the temple of artemis that was what

  796. paul was addressing and so in verse 12 he said

  797. i do not permit your husband i mean the woman

  798. to teach or to have authority over the man, but

  799. to be silent. Remember, we've already said that's

  800. silent. We said, but she should have a teachable

  801. disposition. That's what silent means. So to

  802. teach is not a separate idea with to have authority.

  803. No, over. Or to absorb authority. In the sun.

  804. Direct half is to absorb. You understand? Let

  805. me explain to you these words here. Because they

  806. are words that are careful. Paul chose those

  807. words. He didn't, he is careful to choose them.

  808. You know, sometimes there's a way Englishman

  809. water some water, you would think that is just,

  810. no, no. He carefully chose them. So by joining

  811. the word or, the second phrase to half, authority

  812. over. He tried to define the toxic nature of

  813. the first. Do you understand what I'm trying

  814. to say? By saying or absorb authority or have

  815. authority, he's trying to tell you the kind of

  816. the teaching Paul is talking about, that I do

  817. not permit a woman to do that. That this type

  818. of a teaching is not just merely to pass information.

  819. It's a domineering toxic, you understand? supremacy

  820. mentality that is brought from a foreign place

  821. and that does not glorify god it means teaching

  822. you understand that is bossy it's not just normal

  823. positive acts this is not a positive like like

  824. what many of us do in the class personal td personal

  825. course and the rest you know something it's not

  826. a positive teaching Listen, the teaching here

  827. is not a positive teaching wanting somebody to

  828. learn something. Like what we do in school, that

  829. you are proud that somebody learn after you and

  830. graduates. You understand? It's not positive,

  831. it's negative. It's not intended to pass on information.

  832. It's intended to dominate. It's intended to enslave.

  833. Did you understand what I'm saying? Have you

  834. seen those women before? That the man have no

  835. wealth in his house? Have you seen them? Oh,

  836. you have not seen them. May God never make you

  837. to see them. You know what I'm saying? She is

  838. the ultimate, the alpha and omega in the sun.

  839. Whatever she says stands. She has no world. That

  840. is this Artemis. She is from the daughters of

  841. Artemis. Are we together? So this teaching here

  842. is not positive. It's not helping someone to

  843. succeed. It is the teaching that dominates, that

  844. bullies. To have authority of sub -authority

  845. means to take or to keep power. Now listen, that

  846. word have is the word usurp, right? In some translation,

  847. use the word usurp, right? That is you. s -u

  848. -r -p -s it's not that you see we sang a song

  849. oh jesus i have authority this authority is given

  850. to us we didn't collect it by force is yes now

  851. the exactly sir the you sub -authority sir is

  852. the authority of kurita is the one that you collect

  853. by force it's not your place but you collect

  854. it there's something and you rule with iron fist

  855. because the reason is that you are also afraid

  856. because it's not your position. It's not that

  857. people voted you in power say we love you. We

  858. want you to rule us. No. It's like you collected

  859. by force. So you would necessarily have to rule

  860. with iron fist. That is a kind of authority here.

  861. So this authority is it means to have authority

  862. or to assume authority means to take power to

  863. take a position by a force you understand without

  864. legal right you don't have legal right in christ

  865. as i said the position of a man as the head of

  866. the home is an election of grace it's not because

  867. he's wiser it's not because it's not it's an

  868. election of grace you understand saying So the

  869. position he is carrying is not an usup authority.

  870. It is not an authority he hijacks. But for the

  871. woman to come and say, Paul said, I do not permit

  872. her. That means it's an illegal position. This

  873. is what Paul was addressing. And remember, this

  874. is an idea that he's addressing. They are coming

  875. from the temple of Artemis. So the position is

  876. important and I want you to note. So the wife

  877. shouldn't take the position of authority because

  878. it's divinely given to her husband. And so the

  879. word, importantly, the whole word means to dominate,

  880. to take power by force. to be autocratic, to

  881. have an absolute power, that's what it means,

  882. to be a bully, to practice self -assertive aggressive

  883. control, that's what that means. It's not just

  884. to teach that they want authority define the

  885. kind of teaching Paul was talking about. And

  886. this is not, let me explain. what Paul is not

  887. saying, and that's what the error of many of

  888. our churches. They think here that this teacher

  889. is talking about just merely teaching the Bible.

  890. This is a positive one. This teacher is a negative

  891. one. Are we together? And when you check in the

  892. church, let me give you some thought here. Now

  893. there are different words used. Oh, I have to

  894. give you this word, please. Have authority, because

  895. that word authority, we have to define it. The

  896. entire word, please follow me. The entire word

  897. to have authority there is autentio in Greek,

  898. autentio. To have authority is autentio in Greek,

  899. means A -U -T -H -E -N -T -U, and T -O, sorry.

  900. A -U -T -H -E -N -T -U. E -N -T -E -O. Please

  901. pay attention. Because authority is not authority

  902. everywhere. This one here, authority, this one,

  903. is used only once and in this place. It's not

  904. a mistake. Paul deliberately chose this word.

  905. This word here is only used, that's the only

  906. place used in the Bible. And as I said, this

  907. autentio means to have authority. It's a verb.

  908. It's actually, it's not a positive one. It is

  909. to dominate, as I said. It is to take power by

  910. force. It is to be autocratic, as I said. is

  911. to be a bully. To have an absolute power. That

  912. means to be an absolute master. You know absolute.

  913. Means the other person has no say. As I said

  914. also, it means to practice a self assertive.

  915. You know self assertive? Means you are the one

  916. who assert yourself. or a self -aggressive control.

  917. So it's meant to be a manipulative power. Now,

  918. this autentitude, as I said, is the only place

  919. it appears, this authority here. This is different

  920. from the church power. or the leadership of the

  921. church authority. This is different from the

  922. believer's authority. And it's also different

  923. from governmental authority. Remember in the

  924. Bible, God, you know, this is maybe to help to

  925. address some of these things also. God asks us

  926. to submit to the governmental authority. Is that

  927. correct? You know, some people are saying, what

  928. if they are tyrant? What the word the Bible use

  929. is not authentic. to refer to those authorities.

  930. Now, let me start with the church. What is the

  931. word used as church authority or church leadership

  932. authority? Paul used the word exusia. E -X -O

  933. -U -S -I -A. X -E -X -O -U -S -I -A. This is

  934. a healthy authority. It's not a tyrant authority.

  935. Let me give you some text. 1 Corinthians chapter

    1 Corinthians 9 chapter mention

  936. 9. 1 Corinthians chapter 9 verse 4 to 6. Do we

    1 Corinthians 9:4–6

  937. have no right? Look at it. That word right is

  938. the word exusia. is an apostolic authority to

  939. eat and drink? Do we have no right to take along

  940. a believing wife as do also the other apostles,

  941. the brother of the Lord and Cephas? Or is it

  942. only Barnabas and I who have no right. That word

  943. right there is a word authority or exusia, to

  944. refrain from working. Are we together? What Paul

  945. is saying that we have the right to demand your

  946. material things because a laborer is worthy for

  947. his wages. You know what I'm saying? but they

  948. say we waive that authority. It's an apostolic

  949. authority. This is not manipulative. This is

  950. the right given to them by the Lord, that those

  951. that walk in the altar will eat from the altar.

  952. Did you understand something? It's not what you

  953. give to a pastor. You know, some of us have to

  954. understand. When you are giving and taking care

  955. of your pastor, it's not that he is the one who

  956. require it, it's a divine authority is a divine

  957. privilege. Did you get what I'm trying to say?

  958. 1 Corinthians 9 verse 12. Let me give you another

    1 Corinthians 9:12

  959. one. Look at verse 12, the same 1 Corinthians

  960. 9. If others are partakers of this right over

  961. you, are we not even more? Nonetheless, we have

  962. not used this right But endure all things, lest

  963. we hinder the gospel of Jesus Christ. That means

  964. Paul is willing to waive even the right giving

  965. to him by God, so that he will not be a hindrance

  966. to the preaching of the gospel. That's why you

  967. always say, I have shown you an example by working

  968. that you support the weak. For the sake, that's

  969. leadership. When I'm talking about leadership

  970. in the home, that's exactly. You want to teach

  971. your wife something. You don't just say, hey,

  972. do, do, do, do always. It's that you demonstrate

  973. it. That's leadership. Paul wants to teach these

  974. people sacrifice and how to support the weak

  975. in the family and in the church. He said, OK,

  976. I waive my right for you to give to me. I will

  977. go and work with my hand and show you how you

  978. should do it. And then when he makes money, he

  979. supports the weak and said, this is how you should

  980. do it. That's a leader. Second Corinthians chapter

    2 Corinthians 10:8

  981. 10 verse 8. This right is called exucia. Second

    2 Corinthians 10:8

  982. Corinthians 10 verse 8. He said, for even if

  983. I should boast somewhat more about our authority,

  984. which the Lord gave us, did you see that? He

  985. did not hijack it. It was given to them. For

  986. who? For edification, that's positive. This is

  987. the authority we are talking about. Exucia, not

  988. Othentio. Othentio is an aggressive, abusive

  989. power, authority. Exucia is one for edification.

  990. And not for your destruction. Exucia, sir, the

  991. church authority. Is not for destruction is for

  992. edification. This is why they are this is what

  993. they are hindering women to do That is not the

  994. same with a turn to The Bible never Said that

  995. the woman should not have exusia. You know something

  996. because is one given by God So we should not

  997. confuse the two And say that God banned women

  998. from leadership and authority in the church.

  999. No, they are not the same, sir. Let me give one

1000. more here. 2nd Thessalonians. I have to do this

1001. one. 2nd Thessalonians. Even if we will finish

1002. this one alone, it's okay. Did you want something?

  1003. Are you 2nd Thessalonians? 3 verse 9. 2 Thessalonians

    2 Thessalonians 3:9

1004. 3 verse 9. He said, none because we do not have

1005. authority, but to make our self worth an example

1006. of how you should follow us. That's just what

1007. I have said, is authority. It has been given

1008. to them. And it is for edification, not for destruction.

1009. is a power, is an authority for confusion. Now,

1010. the believer has also that. Let's look at the

1011. believer. This one is for the church authorities.

1012. What about the believer? The believer also has

1013. authority. And the authority is also a exusiasa.

1014. It's not autentio. It's not for destruction.

  1015. 1 Corinthians, chapter 7, verse 4. This one,

    1 Corinthians 7:4

1016. in fact, he uses The what? Let me, let me read

1017. it here. The wife does not have authority. Now,

1018. this authority is not attentive. You know what

1019. I'm saying? Over her own body, but the husband.

1020. That means this authority is not an evil authority.

1021. It's not saying that the woman will be subjected

1022. by the man. No. You know what I'm saying? He

1023. said, and likewise, the husband does not have

1024. authority. over his own body but that means both

1025. of them have this authority over the other's

1026. body and this authority is not authentic it's

1027. not the one that mutilates that that tarnish

1028. it's not the one you understand it's not selfish

1029. you understand that you the husband you're only

1030. the one once you enjoy your wife and move you

1031. don't care that your wife enjoy it or not That

1032. is not the one. It's not a selfish power. It's

1033. not a selfish power. In fact, here he uses the

1034. verb of exusia. Exusia is a noun. He uses the

1035. verb of it, which is exusiazo. Are we together?

1036. You just add zo to it. Z -O, zo. Go to 37 for

1037. me. 37. Nevertheless, he who stands steadfast

1038. in his heart, having no necessity but has power

1039. over his own will and has so determined in his

1040. heart that he will keep his virgin thus well.

1041. You know, many people have mutilated, even Amplify

1042. have confused this text. They are thinking that

1043. he's talking about the father of the woman. But

1044. he's talking about the man himself. That is the

1045. young man has authority over if he thinks that

1046. he can be able to tame himself, to tame his loss,

1047. he does not need to marry. He can decide not

1048. to. That is within his control. Are we together?

1049. He said, if what? Having no necessity. He said,

1050. but has power over his will. Do you understand?

1051. He said, and has so determined. in his heart

1052. that he will keep his virgin. That is, he will

1053. keep himself because he is a virgin. Do you understand

1054. what I'm saying? He said he does well. He's trying

1055. to say that if you decide not to marry, you have

1056. done well. Do you understand what I'm trying

1057. to say? But it has a condition if you have exusia

1058. over your passions. Because those who does not

1059. have, He has already told them in verse one,

1060. instead of you to born with loss, what you should

1061. do? Go and marry. You are laughing. Paul is not

1062. just any how, he is addressing reality. Brother,

1063. if you cannot keep yourself, can you just go

1064. and marry so that they will be using that word

1065. for you, you are settled. You know when people

1066. marry, they say they are settling down. Maybe

1067. it's their passion that is settling down. Amen.

1068. Are we together? So that word here is power,

1069. authority. Amen. Hallelujah. To commit to a life

1070. of singleness and celibacy. 1 Corinthians chapter

    1 Corinthians 8:9

  1071. 8 verse 9. 1 Corinthians chapter 8 verse 9. This

    1 Corinthians 8:9

1072. is talking about the believer's authority. You

1073. understand? the believer's authority, exusia,

1074. is not negative, is a one that is helpful. 8

1075. verse 9, but beware, lest someone, somehow this

1076. liberty, the word liberty there is a word authority,

1077. of yours become a stumbling block to those who

1078. are weak. Remember, we say exusia is not autenture.

1079. So it's not meant for destruction, it said be

1080. careful. that your exusia that is good is an

1081. authority of the believer that is good. Don't

1082. allow it to become a stumbling block to those

  1083. who are weak. 1 Corinthians 11, 10. 1 Corinthians

1084. 11, 10. He said for this reason, the woman ought

1085. to have a symbol of authority on her head because

1086. of the angels. You understand? We'll deal with

1087. this text separately. But the point I'm trying

1088. to say is the authority here. And the idea here

1089. is that the symbol of authority means that she

1090. is under authority. She said that is a symbol.

1091. It's an indication that she's under authority.

1092. Because remember, they have a culture at that

1093. time, just the same way we have today. You understand?

1094. I don't know today. How do you show that you

1095. are rebelling? What are the things that when

1096. you wear it signify that you're a rebellious

1097. person? I don't know anyway. But maybe for the

1098. men, when you see a man sagging, what is the

1099. indication? Because that sagging came from the

1100. prisons. It's a statement to the wardens. Do

1101. you want me to tell you? Because there is something

1102. that happened, they want to rebel. So they started

1103. sagging. Now, most of our boys, that's what they

1104. are doing. That's a symbol of rebellion to authorities.

1105. It's an indication. So the same way, at the context

1106. of that time, head time means something. When

1107. they see you tied, it shows something. It shows

1108. that you're under authority. And remember, this

1109. authority is exusia. It's not autentio. It's

1110. not a controlling, manipulative power. Are we

1111. together? Lastly, governmental leadership. I'm

1112. trying to let you know that what the word of

1113. God commands is not an uncontrolled, negative

1114. power. You know, some people accuse that the

1115. church is trying to manipulate you, that this

1116. thing is manipulating you. Some people are even

1117. saying that, no, we can't continue today or whatever.

1118. No, no, no, no, no. Remember, the Bible did not

1119. ask, say that when he was talking about authorities,

1120. Let's look at governmental authorities. Romans

    Romans 13:1–3

1121. chapter 13 verse 1 to 3. He was not talking about

1122. a Tentil. He was not talking about a Dictators.

1123. Those who snatch power like North Korea. You

1124. understand? And ensure everybody does not move.

1125. You don't have a right. You understand? The government

1126. own you. Everything they say you must do it.

1127. That's not what we're talking about. Are we together?

1128. Amen. Sorry, I'm not a politician. And I'm not

1129. trying to undermine any government. I'm just

1130. trying to give an example. That's the reality.

1131. You understand what I'm saying? Amen. He said,

1132. let every soul be subject to the governmental

1133. authorities. That word, authorities, is the word

1134. exucia. He's not talking about autentio. You

1135. understand what I'm saying? He said, that's why

1136. you will see that. How he continue, you now understand

1137. that. He's talking about that. he said for there

1138. is no authority except from God you definitely

1139. you know that this authority is not talking about

1140. or Tentil are we together he said except from

1141. God and the authorities that exist are appointed

1142. by God God cannot appoint anything that is tyrant

1143. therefore so don't say when a people foolishly

1144. elected a foolish leader and you say that it

1145. is God that put him there and he's He's destroying

1146. people, doing a lot of this. Say it is we that

1147. put him there. You know what I'm saying? If it

1148. is a power that God is involved, you will see

1149. it is positive. He said, therefore, whoever resists

1150. authority resists the ordinances of God. You

1151. know what I'm saying? And those who resist will

1152. bring judgment on themselves. That's three. For

1153. rulers are not what? Oh, are you with me? Do

1154. you want to be unafraid of the authority? He

1155. said, do what is good, and you will have praise

1156. from the same. Are we together? Romans 9 verse

    Romans 9:21

1157. 21. Romans 9, 21. He said, does not the potter

1158. have the power over the clay from the same loom

1159. to make a vessel for honor and another for dishonor

1160. here again that's another thing many of us misquote

1161. this place in the sun listen power here is no

1162. negative the word power here is a positive power

1163. exusia what he's saying is that the lord has

1164. the rights in the context of this text he's not

1165. talking about producing a human being. He's not

1166. talking about creation. He's talking about the

1167. way of faith and the way of law. Are we together?

1168. And God has chosen that the way to come to him

1169. is through the way of faith. So you cannot come

1170. and wake up and say, no, me, I will not use faith.

1171. I will use law and you have to accept me. No,

1172. it doesn't work like that because you don't have

1173. the authority to do that. So it is in this context

1174. and Paul is giving this example. He said just

1175. the same way the potter, right? Have the right,

1176. you understand? Over the clay, you understand?

1177. To shape it the way he wants. He can break it

1178. and shape it. That's the same way the Lord has

1179. the right to choose which way people come to

1180. him. And he has chosen the way of faith. So you

1181. don't have that right to say, no, I will not

1182. follow the way of faith. I'll follow the way

1183. of the law. No, you won't get to him. You get

1184. to another place. Are we together? only to wake

1185. up probably and see that it's the wrong address.

1186. Lastly, Titus, let me give this one. Titus, Titus

1187. chapter three, verse one. Titus chapter three,

1188. verse one. He said, remind them to be subject

1189. to rulers and authorities. authorities we have

1190. shown you something here he's not saying rulers

1191. are different from authorities the word and there

1192. is chi in greek which means it's saying it's

1193. a in in in biblical studies not always you see

1194. that word and a conjunction is always a talking

1195. about two things like joining two things it may

1196. be a further explanation you understand as you

1197. normally see it in different place my Lord and

1198. my God. He's not saying my Lord is different

1199. and my God is different. You understand what

  1200. I'm saying? He's saying that and he's saying

1201. my Lord which is my God. Are we together? That's

1202. exactly what he's saying. So here rulers means

1203. rulers which are authorities. So authorities

1204. here is exusia. He said to obey, to be ready

1205. for every good work. Are we together? Please

1206. brethren you can see that in all the texts we

1207. are the Bible the authority that God gives is

1208. not a negative authority so if Paul is saying

1209. I do not permit you should know that that authority

1210. that the woman is taking is an illegal authority

1211. the one that God gives both to the believer both

1212. to government you understand and to the church

1213. authority is a positive one for edification you

1214. understand not for destruction Are we together?

1215. It's Exucia. So while Exucia is legitimate, is

1216. given by God, or Tentil, is a highly negative,

1217. aggressive position, right authority, taken by

1218. force without legitimacy. This is a one that

1219. Paul says, I do not permit you to have it. because

1220. it's illegal. With this understanding, we can

1221. then read 12 clearly now. Are we together? Are

1222. you with me? Are you with me up to this moment?

1223. Now you can now read this verse with clarity

1224. and now understand why Paul said, I do not permit

1225. a woman. So let's read it this way. Because we

1226. said that word teach. is defined by the authority

1227. in the sun which is a figure of speech we have

1228. said and then that is right which we said we

1229. will read it this way i do not permit a woman

1230. to teach in such a way that you soup authority

1231. over a man but to be silent or but to have a

1232. teachable disposition. So he is not permitting

1233. a woman to exercise what is and not her rights.

1234. That authority is a snatched, is a hijacked authority.

1235. It's meant to bully. is coming from the temple

1236. of Artemis, not temple of God. That authority

1237. is not God -like, is not Christ -like, is demonic,

1238. is evil. That authority does not promote success,

1239. does not promote the harmonious living. That

1240. authority is domineering. That authority is abusive,

1241. is aggressive. is controlling. That is what Paul

1242. said, no. No. So Paul was not banning a healthy

1243. pastoral teaching. Don't use this text to condemn

1244. pastoral authority of a woman. She is in Christ.

1245. We have already said, We don't want the woman

1246. to assume pastoral authority by any other means

1247. than the means God have outlined in the church.

1248. A woman should not become a pastor because her

1249. husband is a pastor. That's an illegal way. That's

1250. also like atentio. It's an illegal means. Because

1251. the position of a pastor is a position of maturity.

1252. You don't call me through relationship. is not

1253. a marital religion that brought you to become

1254. a pastor no neither we will not allow any man

1255. to become a pastor because his wife is a pastor

1256. that's why we have to be careful you understand

1257. we really have to be careful else we will be

1258. practicing we'll be bringing you some some some

1259. thought of artemis you understand we will be

1260. circumventing where god man of god have they

1261. will show to us you understand How the leadership

1262. of the church of Ephesus came. Sometimes they

1263. go in Acts chapter 19. These people were not

    Acts 19 chapter mention

1264. born again. You understand? In fact, what they

1265. say, we don't even know there's anything like

1266. a Holy Spirit. They say, with what baptism have

1267. you been baptized? They say with the baptism

1268. of John. They don't understand even with the

1269. baptism of John. Because Paul now said, listen,

1270. this is the baptism of John. When John was baptizing,

1271. he was baptizing unto repentance. And what he

1272. was doing is that he was pointing to a person.

1273. He said, eh? Oh, we didn't know. He said, no.

1274. That's what John was doing, because the baptism

1275. of John was pointing to someone who is going

1276. to come. When they heard it, they now understood,

1277. oh. The Bible now said they were baptized in

1278. the name. That's not water baptism. We've told

1279. you now, the name is not a tag. He's not to say

1280. the name, you understand? He's not attack, he's

1281. authority, you understand? To be baptized, we

1282. have shown it. Give me that text, one of God.

1283. 1 Corinthians chapter seven, sorry, 12. He shows

  1284. to us a word there. I think he's in verse 11,

1285. talks about those of us, we are baptized into

1286. Christ, we are baptized through the spirit. Show

1287. me that text, there's a verse there. I forgot

1288. that verse. Look at, show it for me. For by one

1289. spirit we are all, do what? Baptized into one

1290. body. That's not what our baptisms are. Meaning

1291. it is through the spirit that you came into Christ.

1292. Right? Whether you are Greek, so we are slaves

1293. or free, all have been made. to drink into one

1294. spirit so they were baptized in the name and

1295. then Paul wanted to make more converts they rejected

1296. him he said okay since you rejected he just carried

1297. the ones he has already they already received

1298. those who were disciples of John but didn't even

1299. know John's message listen people can be going

1300. to try they don't know what they are saying We

1301. had the Ethiopian, you know, he was coming to

1302. Jerusalem to serve. He didn't know the God. He

1303. was moving back. He was reading the book of Isaiah.

1304. He doesn't even know what he's saying. This is

1305. the man that has come to Jerusalem to worship.

1306. And now God has to intervene and say, well, please

1307. help this young, help this man in the sun. Are

1308. we together? And of course, he became born again

1309. and he moved back to Ethiopia. So what we are

1310. saying is that these type of teaching is not

1311. just any kind. So don't use autentio as exusia.

1312. Don't use that. Do not use that. So Paul was

1313. not banning healthy pastoral teaching. He was

1314. banning that abusive, aggressive, spiritual takeover,

1315. because it's a spiritual takeover. You are coming

1316. from the temple of Artemis and now coming to

1317. temple of God to to take over to you know son

1318. to continue leading because you are used to that

1319. that high you are a high priestess there you

1320. think and that's the same thing church are doing

1321. we are still practicing Artemis today have you

1322. not seen the man has been singing in the world

1323. you know son he's a celebrity suddenly he came

1324. into the church he was born again glory to God

1325. okay brother sit down and learn suddenly now

1326. they met him the head of the choir now he is

1327. busy now singing that is artemis you are coming

1328. from somewhere you are high ranking there suddenly

1329. you enter the church you want to maintain that

1330. position that is artemis and the church have

1331. to be careful and this is where we are going

1332. and so when things happen then you start to watch

1333. no brother sit down and learn this is not time

1334. to start singing you understand i am trusting

1335. the lord to help us you understand The first

1336. thing is not to start serving here and there.

1337. That's why I'm careful always with some of us

1338. that are serving. I'm much concerned because

1339. I don't want you to be here for donkey years.

1340. You are busy holding camera, you are busy playing

1341. this and playing that and you learn nothing and

1342. it doesn't bother you. And then we think the

1343. brother has grown and then we begin to see some

1344. things and then we are surprised. What happened?

  1345. That's what happened. He's already overtaken.

1346. We don't want you to do that in the sun. Service

1347. is a product of maturity. You know something?

1348. That's why I read Ephesians chapter 4, sir. That

    Ephesians 4 chapter mention

  1349. word, sir, when you read from 13, 14, 15, 16,

1350. where the body, every part of the body begins

1351. to contribute to the child. That is when maturity

1352. has come. But the first instance, those who are

1353. to serve are those who are mature. they are to

1354. teach they are to ensure that those people are

1355. matured the time they will be contributing is

1356. when you lead by the time you read 16 verse 16

1357. of chapter 4 then you said that every part will

1358. now contribute its own part but how comes you

1359. start contributing without knowing anything so

1360. and that is how leadership came from from the

1361. apple dwell with them for two years teaching

1362. them In the sun. In all together, by the time

1363. you come to Acts chapter 20, in the sun, it was

    Acts 20 chapter mention

1364. already that he has spent three years with them.

1365. And at that moment, they are mature. They are

1366. the one they become elders now. So how come you

1367. just enter the church and you are given the leadership

1368. position? What did you know? So Paul's instruction.

1369. was not to ban any woman. So Paul's solution

1370. wasn't to mute the woman, but to mandate that

1371. they humbly learn sound doctrine, sound theology,

1372. which is not the one they have been receiving,

1373. which is corrupted, not to be influenced by the

1374. Ephesus powerful Artemis culture, which uses

1375. a corrupted, Genesis narrative. Eve first, because

1376. the goddess believed she is the first. Because

1377. she was born first and came to help her mother

1378. to deliver her twin brother. Can I imagine this

1379. kind of mythology? Or myths? Yes, the mother

1380. gave birth to her. Then after she came out, Then

1381. she now returned to help the mother to give birth

1382. to Apollo, which are twin brother. So she's first

1383. over men. Or if wiser, what Eve did is wiser

1384. than is a wisdom that she demonstrated. And Paul

1385. said, no, it was not wisdom. She was deceived.

1386. Paul was not comparing her with the man. He was

1387. saying against the attitude. and the culture

1388. of Ephesus and say, no, what if demonstrated

1389. was not wisdom, sir? What she demonstrated there,

1390. eh? She was tripped. She was deceived. Are we

1391. together? Hallelujah. I believe you have gotten

1392. something. Can you just appreciate God? I say,

1393. thank you, Lord. For all we have seen so brother

1394. as you are growing you are growing ministry.

1395. Don't block any sister Don't block your wife

1396. You know son and say the layer said you are not

1397. permitted that means you are joining the devil

1398. You know son to hinder his will His will is not

1399. gender -based. Sorry, sir. It's not gender -based

1400. Exucia is the authority given to the believer

1401. Giving to the church and a woman can grow to

1402. become a pastor She can be a leader She have

1403. the authority Can you just pray for that? We

1404. appreciate you being here today. We hope you
